Your story can always be backdated so it's fitting. If that doesn't tickle your fancy, you could just say they were a part of the GA forces launching their invasion on the system.

Many thanks, the invasion storyline has its benefits, but I'm not quite used to keeping up with main storylines (they didn't feature as heavily on previous boards I RPed with), so I should probably keep it simple enough to track for now.

I'm certainly game for our characters to encounter one another if/when it makes sense in your narrative.
