Yeah that is what I was reading...

I can see if used to kill it would be considered less the lightside but I don't see it as being near the darkside at all. Only in so far as its application or use of it. Just like any ability through the light side of the force, one could use anything to kill.

but interesting thoughts ... not sure if you have every tried this or wish to, but if you would like someone to RP this with then maybe we could...
