"Well, at least you're not ignorant to my good looks." Adron muttered, in a matter of fact tone to Alessandra.

Again Alessandra pushed up from his chest, this time to reveal the small pendant she kept around her necklace. The Minister of War had never given it a second thought, dismissing it as a standard piece of jewelry. His hand wrapped around the token, rolling it over in his hands while he gave it a closer look. His hands brushed against it and there was a feeling that Adron had rarely seen before. "I see...." He said, before giving Alessandra a challenging smirk. "Ahhh, now I see the source of Minister Creed's renown." Obviously joking, Adron's eyes flitted as he was pulled from the tree behind him.

When Alessandra pulled Adron down he immediately moved over her, his hands pressing into her's while he showed an understanding expression. "Epicanthix. That makes a lot of sense, actually."

"But, regardless of what you are....You can't hurt me." He promised, still holding that cocky expression that defined so much of his personality. His hand was placed softly on Alessandra's cheek as hers was laid upon his. She had a warm touch that invited him lower, closer towards her. "We both know you're more than that." He said. Behind Adron a soft thud had erupted from the tree's trunk, barely loud enough to be heard.

Adron had lowered himself to where he and Alessandra's lips were but a hair from each other. Yet when the thud impacted into the tree, he glanced up at it with an arched brow. Staring at the small metallic piece with a curious expression it took the Minister a moment to realize what it was.

A poison dart.

In a moment of reaction, his hand flew to his waist where his lightsaber had hung lifelessly until now. Taking the silver hilt into his hand, his eyes scanned the scenery surrounding him as he held a hand out to Alessandra, silently telling her to remain on the ground. "It's time to go."

Adron brought himself up into a half-kneel where he could better react, yet still nothing had shown itself. "Go." A rapid snap-hiss erupted from his weapon as the purple blade sprang from it's emitter. His second lightsaber still hung from his blade, yet his hand now lingered over it in anticipation.

Chit.

Darius muttered a curse under his breath as the dart smacked into the tree. He'd never been the best shot. He remained where he was as the minister lit his purple blade and took up a defensive posture over the woman.

The hunter let his grin grow.

He had a second or so before the minister made a move. He was either going to run off to civilization, or go off on a search - both of which were not positive for Darius. With that in mind, he wasted little time in snatching the tiny grab back from his pouch. He admired the white crystal as it flickered in the light, drew up his helmet for a fraction of a second, and snorted the substance. The rush was immediate and euphoric.

The hunter's anxieties waned, and his senses grew far more keen. He could wait here no longer.

His helmet popped back into place after he'd already started running. The light reflected about his body in such a way that only the keenest of eyes would have noticed the slight shimmering. The noise of his feet too was muffled.

It was only when he'd gotten within 5 meters that the cloak faded. He'd already launched himself into the air, calling upon the empyrean to fuel his limbs and lift him higher than any sentient being had a right to. When he seemingly materialized in thin air, the hunter was falling down upon the minister at a rather high velocity, crimson blade roaring downward to cleave the man in two.

After ensuring the safety those there in Green Acres, Betty reached out and made her best aim to force push [member="Darius Sedaire"] away from the two. "Now I believe that's enough." She marched forward, and gave a whistle to alert the rest of Clan Americus. [member="Jo Americus"], for starters, followed by [member="Vivienne Americus"] as well as [member="Kaptan Americus"] and the rest of the group. A single glance over toward [member="Adron Malvern"] and [member="Alessandra Creed"], she didn't take kindly to someone rushin' up on her guests so rudely. Nor did she take kindly to someone walkin' in on a family celebration. He was most certainly an uninvited guests, [member="Daisy Americus"] and her friend [member="Scherezade deWinter"] were still in the area.

Who or what this was or wanted was beyond her, and at this point he was definitely on her chit list. The chaos he'd caused was plenty, she didn't want to hear who hired him or for what reason he was sent. But if he didn't get out of there, he'd have Jo to deal with. It'd been awhile since she'd used her force abilities but there was no time like the present and if all else failed, the guns in the back would work just fine. "Daisy get the generator goin' and get the folks to their homes."

[member="Jimmy Americus"] would be alerted no doubt, "get on the horn up to Valero while you're at it. Rangers got some huntin' to do." She added to the list of things that needed to be done now. Haeseria had been kind to them, and Durango even more so. "Stranger, I don't know who you are, but you've tangled with the wrong family."

There were times when it wasn't a boon to keep ones self so muted in the Force, to the point where her senses were sometimes stunted in their range and ability. Now was one of those times as it was only the snap-hiss of [member="Adron Malvern"]'s lightsaber that alerted her to the fact that there was trouble brewing, and she whirled around to find the man in a crouched position with his blade at the ready. The lovely [member="Alessandra Creed"] was behind him where he had placed her, and Vivi nodded to herself as she began walking forward.

Her demeanor changed almost instantly - gone was the carefree young woman, and in her place was the one who had already seen and experienced too much. She unshackled her Force abilities and breathed in sharply as awareness flooded through her senses, with information popping up like little blips on a sensor screen. Though she held no obvious weapon, her hands, clutched into fists at her sides as they were, began to crackle with a build up of energy.

"Lila, honey, you run along to your momma right now, ya hear me? Go on." she said quietly, casting a glance over her shoulder to the child standing wide eyed near one of the tables of food. She nodded and ran off immediately, and left Vivienne to follow her Aunt Betty's example.

As her Aunt Betty aimed a Force Push at the intruder, she followed it by flicking her right hand forward and launching a rippling beam of light energy at him, intending to bind him in place as he fell.

"Not very bright, are ya, sugar." Vivi said sweetly, her smile matching the word, though her tone was anything but.

The day had begun with a small hiccup.

The Alor of Clan Americus considered himself responsible for the more...important things. He kept an eye on the well being of his kin of course, but recreationally, it was his job to make sure the food was well and good. As the celebration was set to begin, Jo busied himself earlier that morning checking over the smokers used to provide Durango with mouth-watering cuisine. However, the oldest, largest, and most reliable of the smokers - Big Bertha - had an unanticipated crack in her side. Jo did what any reasonable man would do in that situation - he hooked the smoker up to the back of his Basilisk and took her into his shop for a repair job.

It wasn't a full fix, mind, that would have to come after the fireworks. But, a quick weld would see Bertha functioning enough that the show could go on unhindered.

This, of course, meant that Jo was late to the start of the festivities. The Alor didn't think that his absence would be felt all that much, but by the time his Basilisk lumbered over the hill, he could feel a tension in the air. A shrill whistle reached his ears...one that he'd know anywhere. You see, love makes a man know everything about his woman. He could tell when it's her feet walking through the halls at night. He could tell when it was her hands covering his eyes. He could pick [member="Betty Americus"] out of a crowd of thousands. And boy, when she did that angsty whistle of hers, he always knew to come running.

Normally it was due to it being dinner time, or a fist fight.

Jo rested his rifle over his shoulder and urged his beast forward, only to catch the tail end of the situation rapidly unfolding. [member="Vivienne Americus"] was unleashing the light upon someone he had never seen before. Power was shrieking from his wife. And the minister of war, [member="Adron Malvern"], was brandishing his own saber against the foe. Standing almost protectively of [member="Alessandra Creed"]. Two plus two equals...

With a flourish, the rifle was readied immediately.

Jo closed one eye and took aim. He didn't just use his naked eye, but felt the despicable sod who was mucking up the party. Zeroed in on him exclusively. When the slug exploded from the barrel, Jo's influence was upon it.

There was a reason that the Alor never missed.

“Fancy that. I have eyes.”, Alessandra responded rather sassily to Adron, chocolate eyes glimmering, flecked with shards of cinnamon. She mirrored her mother in that respect. She let him toy with the crystal pendant that lay around her neck without fear. The Serenno man had proven time and time again that he wouldn’t cause her harm. She realized, in the tranquility of the park, that she had placed a lot of trust in the Minister of War. More than she should have…

But it was there all the same.

He teased her and a velvet laugh escaped her throat, muffled, from her relaxed place against him. The raven-haired beauty with caramel skin pulled the Minister down as a response, as if to directly defy, the fact that he thought he knew her secrets. The pendant was simply the beginning. It was a means to an end and always gave her an element of surprise. If her Force Signature could not initially be discerned by an enemy there was a greater possibility they would never know what hit them until it was too late.

“Does it?”, she questioned, feigning innocence, at the notion of being Epicanthix making sense. He claimed that she couldn’t hurt him and Alessandra allowed him to rest a hand to her cheek. He was so sure of himself, so confident, that the Minister of Commerce kept smiling as he drew nearer. “Are you so certain that I can’t? I think it’s more of a matter that I choose not to.”

Their faces were so close that his features had begun to blur. She could feel his breath against her lips, teasing, in a way that was often a precursor to a kiss—but suddenly he stopped. The Creed woman found herself frowning when he turned to look at the tree instead of her. Sure, Haseria was lovely, but she would not play second fiddle to a piece of wood. “Adron…”, she murmured, using his name as she rarely did, when her gaze turned to focus on the same point.

She saw it, but, didn’t immediately recognize what it was. Not like he did.

In less than half a second he had his lightsaber at the ready and she sat up with him. His form blocked her from seeing much, protective, in such a way that he would be hit before she would. The Minister of War ordered her to leave and she gave the dark-haired man a withering glare. Leave? Run? Who exactly did he think he was speaking to? “Don’t you tell me to—“

That was all she got out before suddenly a presence erupted from nothing. She could feel [member="Darius Sedaire"] versus see him. The sound of his lightsaber was obvious, unmistakable, and for a moment she felt her limbs tense. She felt the Force build, felt darkness threaten to overwhelm her crystal, but the attack was halted by the Mandalorians of Haseria. [member="Betty Americus"] appeared from nowhere, with several of her Clan in tow, and did not seem to like her guests being attacked.

Alessandra moved carefully so as not to disturb Adron’s stance, but, it kept them at a disadvantage to let this unknown enemy have the higher ground. Even if he was suddenly outnumbered.

A blonde woman she hadn’t met, [member="Vivienne Americus"], also arrived with similar threats to Betty. The Minister of Commerce let her hand rest on Adron’s back as she remained nearby. Her presence would bolster him. He would feel support, strength, and focus surge through his veins like wildfire. She wanted to say something catty, something nasty, but her crimson lips remained pursed as a threat lingered in her eyes. She didn’t know who the attack was for. She didn’t care. For perhaps the first time in months she had let her walls down in a place that had felt safe and this man had taken that away. The vulnerability of the moment that had been taken advantage of with the Minister of War left her feeling raw. Angry.

Alessandra didn’t want the man to flee. Or to run. She wanted him to stay. To suffer—and learn his place while she debated on flaying him alive. Her eyes were sharp, livid, when she looked over Adron’s shoulder.

That was when she heard the telltale crack of a rifle going off in the distance.
