"Trust me, I get it. Letting those thoughts ping around in your head for too long can't be healthy. I've got my own anxieties that eat me up if I don't let them spill out from time to time. Right now, that's whether or not my own relationship is going to go well. Jenn Kryze Jenn Kryze is someone strong willed, but...stubborn. Steeped in a culture that I can't be a part of, not just because I'm a jedi, but...because I'm..." She gestured to herself, as if the ending of the sentence was obvious.

"But...I'm always an ear if you need to talk. Benefit of being a hero, I'm always good at listening without the political biases that your average senator would have. As for the flowers, I can always explain. I hope the practice hasn't fallen out of fashion, but I'm an old soul who remembers the days when the Outer Rim was a wild place of lawlessness and refugees trying to hide from imperial oppression. Flowers were a code language for us to hide hope in."

Alicio fully stopped in the middle of the hallway. Then, he blinked once, before continuing his slow pace. Letting Jonyna finish speaking before his response. "You know, Jonyna, with my position as Supreme Chancellor, I get regular updates from some of the best information gatherers in the galaxy. Top spies, people with their fingers on the pulse of the universe, paid to keep me well-informed. And with all that... this is the first I'm hearing about you and Jenn."

The realization was both bitter and sweet. Alicio had fallen victim to Duchess Kryze's strong will, not too long ago. "We're... well, we used to be friends. I'm not sure where Jenn and I stand now."

"Do you... want to talk about it?"
They reached the elevator, and Alicio hit the button to return them to the hangar. He didn't know Jonyna as well as he'd like, but... "Oversharing to you has really helped me organize my thoughts. I'd be happy to return the favor."

"I have nothing to hide." Jonyna said with a slight smirk. "Yeah, me and Jenn just kinda...happened. I was coming off a...separation from my Ex, took a day to myself on the beaches of Corellia, and...well, I found myself a mermaid." She chuckled, brushing her bangs behind her ears. "She and I are trying to make it work between us. She's married to her work just as much as I am to mine, but I hope we can find a world where we can be married to each other as much as we are our careers and cultures. Any advice on that front? You and Amani seem to have that pretty well figured out, all things considered."

"Mmm." Alicio hummed knowingly. "If I had the perfect answer to that conundrum, I could write a book, and retire off the royalties."

"It comes down to support, for Amani and I. She never had any desire to step into the world of politics, and I never did become a Jedi. But despite that... I knew I could come home from a long day of meetings and debates, and have Amani there to talk about my day with, and bounce ideas off of, and just... know that she cared about what I did. And... I tried to do the same for her, too."
He missed the days they both worked on Coruscant, and could relax in the apartment after a grueling day. It had been so much easier, back then.

"Our jobs can be... demanding, Jonyna. Jenn's position is probably even moreso. We can't be there for each other, all the time. But if you make it clear to her, through words or actions, that you're invested in what she cares about, that you believe in her... well, the thought that Amani does that for me is the only thing that keeps me going, some days. Whether she's there with me, or half the galaxy away."

Jonyna went quiet for a bit. Part of her wondered if she did support Jenn Kryze Jenn Kryze in her own ventures.

She loved her, oh so dearly, but the ventures of the New Mandalorians, she was still unclear on, and unable to support in certain places. Jenn wanted Onderon to be independent. Jonyna wasn't sure where she stood on that, as the Alliance had treated her so well. She was glad in moments like this that she didn't have any position in politics.

But that was an argument for another day. There was plenty Jonyna did support Jenn on. Maybe she just...needed to get to know the House better.

"...I appreciate the advice." She finally said. "I just hope me and Jenn can make it work. I hate being alone for too long. All it does is remind me of living in fear."

His words had inspired thought in the Jedi Master. He supposed that was the best reaction he could've hoped for.

"I've heard a little of your... history." Alicio smirked knowingly. Having a spouse on the Council did confer some benefits. "And while I can't guarantee I know anything about love- why Amani chose me, back when I was awkward and naïve and even more of a workaholic than I am now, I'll never know- I can guarantee you don't have to face anything alone, anymore. You have allies across the galaxy, now. All you have to do is call on them."

The doors to the turbolift opened, revealing the light traffic of the Senate Hangar. Alicio breathed a sigh of relief- no hint of Governor Illio, not even in the Future. Alicio traveled with the Cathar to her ship, obviously ruminating on some words. Once it was time for them to part, the Chancellor stuck out a hand to shake.

"Good luck, Jonyna. With everything." His smile was small and warm, like a carefully-tended candle. "If you or the Shield Core need assistance, you know how to reach me."
