Strengths:
- Pack a punch: Hastam’s armament is what a bomber should have. They can hold up to 8 explosive bombs, torpedoes, or rockets. A full squadron of these bombers would be able to punch a hole in most ships shields.
- Bang Bang Bang: The revolver chamber technique allows the Hastam to fire its ordnance very quickly. Going left-right-left-right with its from it’s bombing bays, all 8 explosives can be released within seconds, allowing the slow bombers to be the in the fight for as short a time as possible.
Weaknesses:
- Slow, slow, slow: And quite hard to maneuver. Like most bombers, when the Hastam is fully loaded, the ship is slow and easier to hit. Some sort of fighter cover is recommended for these ships.
- Friendly fire: The firing mechanism for the Hastam is experimental. There are two bomb bays on the ship, where two bomb “revolvers” are lowered from and the explosive ordinance is shot or dropped from. If a enemy fighter was to fire and hit a Hastam at a unfortunate time, like when one of the missiles were firing, the mechanism might point upwards, firing the missile into the ship itself, destroying the bomber instantly by its own ordnance.
Description: Hastam’s are experimental to say the least. The revolver chambers on the ship are something Firemane has never attempted before with it’s bombers. However, it is a high risk, high reward concept, and one that the company was willing to try with its new bomber. If the risk was to pay off, the Firemane would have a bomber strike force that could launch it’s ordnance quicker than any other force.
