Have a drink with me (Open)

"Eh that works I guess. Ever thought about going legit? Like enlisting in a particular?"

He was a guarded guy. That was weird to her. She kept sipping away on her beer. Whatever floats some folks boats.

Viktor chuckled.

"Going legit? I am a Commissioned Officer with friends in high places and an ever expanding voice of influence on a Galactic level. A plan for the future and several avenues to potentially achieve those plans."

Viktor paused for a moment to sip his drink.

"I am curious as to how you define going legit?"

It was a curious conversation to be sure. It reminded him more of a battle of wits though and that was the last reason he had come into the Cantina. He was there to have fun not debate whether or not his was a success or not. He had an over bearing father for that.

"I meant going in with one organization, committing soley. Though I suppose you aren't about that life?"

She didn't really care about causes. Her own cause right now was to make money and lot's of it.

"Ever done a convoy on the Mara? Or deep space?"

Viktor chuckled but decided to indulge his new friend for a moment.

"Ok so say I did decide to put down permanent roots outside of my home. I assume you have a particular place in mind?"

Viktor smiled glancing over at his new companion who's name he never bothered to ask when she interrupted their conversation. Then he glanced back over at [member="Cait Sandusky"] with a shrug.

"Sure settling down has it's benefits. At the same time there are benefits to keeping options open."

Viktor shook his head.

"Convoys tend to track the attention of the wrong sort of people. Besides if I am going to get pushed into a fight I prefer to have people I can trust and rely on to watch my back. Even if I could convince an employer to lend me that kind of support their primary loyalty would be to some suit in an office more likely to sacrifice they convoy than risk an intergalactic incident."

"No I don't really have any place in mind. I understand, business is business for sure. Convoys are my job so unfortunately yes. we get hit up a lot."

She paused to take another sip and looked around for her Co-Pilot. He was deep in the arms of some Twi'lek.

Figures

She turned her attention back to him and lit a ciggarette, taking a drag.

"If you ever need a side gig I'd love to have you fly my wing on a long haul. Get's kinda dicey sometimes, but I guess the danger is the other half of the reward for a thankless job. Ever thought about going into business?"

Viktor chuckled.

"You're cute. I will give you that but you can't afford me to fly your wing."

He took a sip of his drink.

"I have had a few corporate offers sure. The issue is most if not all of the Companies that can afford my services are Government sponsored corporations."

Viktor chuckled.

"That being the case the Government itself would be a better and more stable option."

Viktor laughed.

"Got any particular Government in mind with that mentality?"

Viktor really did find her comment amusing. In a lot of places around the Galaxy people were fed up with their leaders, the state of the Galaxy in general, or even with very specific grievances. Viktor really didn't care. Regardless of what she had said or will say it had no impact on him.

"You don't strike me as the jaded type but then again there may be a really good story behind it. Other with deep rooted authority issues of course."

Viktor smirked.

"Then again I have never met a pilot that was not at least a borderline egomaniac."

"I'm anti everlasting you could say dude. I just find the whole bureaucracy to be so stupid and self oriented. I prefer my freedom, especially since I don't have to answer to anyone anymore."

She paused and took another sip.

"I've been asking all the questions though. What do you want to know?"

Viktor chuckled.

"But do you truly have nobody to answer to? No clients expecting timely and safe delivery, no employees looking to you to not only pay them an honest wage commensurate of their skills and performance but to keep them safe?"

Viktor took a sip of his drink.

"I would argue you have more people to answer to than you did before. That however is just a single point of view."

Viktor shook his head.

"Nonsense I bet I have learned just as much about you as you have about me. Unless of course you are looking for a change in employee and would like to turn this into a interview?"
