Hawkins Halloween - OOC

[member="Greta Kohler"]

There's a chance my post won't be up til tomorrow because I ended up being super busy today and now I'm shattered. I'll try and have it up tomorrow morning (I'm on British timezones  ), so sorry to hold this up!

[member="Lark"] Totally understandable! School comes first.

[member="Six-O"] and I have decided that because of more than a few requests, and a busy week for everyone involved, we'll be extending judgment until Sunday.

If, after that, you guys want to continue your stories we'll keep going! We just won't be judging anymore, and we'll make our decisions on winners for Monday-ish regardless of whether or not you guys want to keep writing.

We want to thank you for an AWESOME experience so far. It's been everything we'd hoped and more. :)

Any questions, leave 'em here. Otherwise we'll go back to torturing you.

Also, note: we'll be binging all of Stranger Things tomorrow so we may be semi-unavailable, but you can still expect a DM post at some point during the day!

This has been the most fun I have had in such a long time and you two have been doing a great job bringing on the creep factor!

That goes for everyone else who has been participating - it's been great guys.

I for one, am totally down for continuing with the story line ever after the judging, so long as others are willing as well :)

Enjoy Stranger Things tomorrow guys!

This has been a really fun ride and I may not have posted the most but I prefer quality over quantity. Either way I was very happy to put some influences into the thread mainly Saw as those are my favorite films. Not only does stranger things come out tomorrow. Jigsaw comes out as well. So I promise more traps and psychological stuff if we continue. But thank you for a wonderful thread thus far.

Oh man I swear I am tempted to use this track in one of my posts. Possibly the next one. If anyone who has ever listened to Charlie Clouser's Saw Soundtracks will know this is awesome. Even if not I love the suspense this track adds. And I wonder if I should use it.... Hell I'll just use it anyway It's that good.

Just wanted to thank you guys for an absolutely wonderful thread! This was one of the most enjoyable RPs I've been apart of, and while I'm disappointed I wasn't able to get a post in on the last day and I would like to still continue (if possible), there's not much you can do when real life pokes it's ugly head around the corner. Thanks for setting all of this up!

Results are below! That said, we want to thank each and every one of you for making our event the kind of success we were just hoping for, and more! The creativity and stories we read were awesome, and couldn't be happier with how it went.

ATTN: If you would like to continue, we'd LOVE to keep this thing going! If you're interested in continuing your story, please let us know in this thread. Otherwise, we'll assume you had your fun and you're off to other threads and we thank you for hanging out for us for the week+!

TOP 5
Please PM Six & myself to discuss custom prizes. Top 3 receive custom prize made in the Factory or Codex. Top 5 get av, sig, or signature tag if desired!
  1. [member="Jorryn Fordyce"] - Took our concepts and ran SUPER far with them. Creative solutions to the obstacles placed in her way, never ignored or downplayed an obstacle. Posts that kept us wanting to read because of the tension. Above all, drove the story of her own accord - took our guidance and made something all her own with it without being afraid to push the envelope and set a narrative for herself.
  2. [member="Jacob Crawford"] & [member="Imogen Daniels"] - Placed as a team simply because their interaction was spotless. Huge environmental and story interaction - searching desks for weapons, taking apples and finding they’re actually hallucinogenic poisons, bloody battles with crazy knife-wielding psychopaths, believable panic when trapped in a locker without falling back on the Force to escape. Great teamwork.
  3. [member="Lark"] - Used this event as an opportunity to analyze and further develop his own character, reflect on his life choices and what he might have been versus what he is. Drove the story - Mnggal-Mnggal! Made a story that ran with the theme AND worked for him in the greater sense of the board’s narrative. Great writing partner in terms of the tension he consistently wrote in to interactions IC as his goals differed from those around him despite knowing it was better to make it work to survive.
  4. [member="Kyrel Ren"] - Used the event to bring greater depth to this character - the humanization and emotion in his posts was exceptional. Kyrel felt alive, and his reactions made sense in terms of who he and what he believes in. Extremely creative with traps and brought personality to the environment and theme. Interacted well with event NPC’s and included other PC characters in his story. Great team player OOC.
  5. [member="Xin Boa"] - Left details big and small that made writing DM posts a really pleasant breeze. Respected the danger of the environment and the overall theme, and wrote his own details in to the setting. Really painted a picture of the place and fleshed it out. Also drove the narrative and really gave thought to what was around him and who was around him - Cab running made total sense. And it was probably smart not to go in that back room.
ACCOLADES IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER

  • [member="Aria Vale"]: Posted consistently, came up with Kali, pushed her character through some turmoil. We didn’t see any of the backing down in to “I’m a sith so I don’t care”. Her WILLINGNESS to kill was obviously there, but its emotional placement amidst fear and turmoil was excellent and in keeping with the theme.
  • [member="Greta Kohler"]: Fun to read, and really played in to horror tropes! Wasn’t afraid to attack NPC’s but also didn’t call ridiculous or unfair hits. Posted consistently, fun to read, and great team player.
  • [member="Liya"] : Understood and used survival horror aspects. Posted more than once between DM posts which beefed up the story. Used environment well. Developed character through the event.
  • [member="Oran Shule"]: Understood and used survival horror aspects. Posted more than once between DM posts to beef up story and pace. Didn’t hesitate to shape the environment (ie killing an old man).
  • [member="Kellyn Muir"]: Nice use of senses other than sight because it was pitch black. Creative use of the Force to try and distract the Orderly.
  • [member="Venthis Zambrano"]: Played along with whatever was thrown at him and pushed forward without powerplaying. Really up to whatever challenge he faced and was game throughout. Embraced the theme.
  • [member="Vulpesen"] : Really made it obvious that his character's life and experience was tailoring how he responded to the situation, ie wanted to put Eloise away for life rather than kill her. Didn't shrug anything off when it was thrown at him, and sort of followed that trope of wiseguy from horror movies which was fun and refreshing. Good team player.
  • [member="Darren Onyx"]: Used event to develop his character and his direction for the future which is one of our great hopes for holding this in the first place. Creative executions.
  • [member="Kyle Raymus"]: Inventiveness in escaping the boars was great. Great team player both IC and out, taking his environment and other PC's in to account. Posts were atmospheric, ran with the theme very well.
  • [member="Causstik Rahn"]: Posts were hilarious, and entertaining. Paid attention and gave respect to the environment. Sought out other PC characters. Played in to the whole “tension but we have to work together” trope which was fun to read.
  • [member="Zul Grimm"]: Put some great imagery in to his posts which fleshed out the area. Took all DM’ed obstacles in to account and did not shortchange them whatsoever.
  • [member="Halron Corr"]: Let his character’s personality guide him to interesting interactions with the environment, event NPC’s, and obstacles. Made for entertaining posts between him and Kyrel as their views on what should be done were often very different.
  • [member="Zahori Denko"]: Game for all interactions and whatever obstacles were thrown at her. Good teamwork and willingness to work with whomever she was near. Directed the environment of her own accord.
  • [member="Asheda Tyr"]: Worked very well with whomever was near her. Willing to work with all obstacles - woman in the room in the last DM post was a great example of this.

This was great fun guys! I absolutely enjoyed not only participating in this event, but also reading through everyone else's individual stories as well. You're all so creative and fun and I am glad to have been able to experience this with you all!

That being said - I would love to continue the story line so [member="Jacob Crawford"] [member="Matsu Xiangu"] [member="Six-O"] if you're feeling it let's go :)

Lastly - I still am completely shocked that I was placed in the top five and I am incredibly grateful that you guys enjoyed our story as much as Jacob and I had fun writing it.

You're all wonderful RP'ers and I hope to see you all around on the board.

@Six-O

Oh man, thank you so much!!! It is such an honor to be put in the top five spot (So close to 3... Oh well better luck next time) But still, I am thankful to use the aspect of "Without power.... What does that make you.... Nothing more than a Man." Type thing where not only was I really excited to use a lot of influence from the Saw films which compared to horror films is my all time favorite. Not only for the awesome traps but a psychological aspect that makes it unique and deals with themes that we all deal with. But nonetheless I am very happy that you guys enjoyed the story, and I like to congratulate my partner @Halrom corr did an awesome job, and everyone else with their stories. And the opportunity to bring my inner Jigsaw out and add some spice to the story.

I will see about coming up with an idea for a prize and let you all know, but if anyone wants to continue. I wish to continue as well I still want to add more 'games' In there :D

This was a lot of fun and I'm glad I decided to join in for this ride. Many thanks to [member="Imogen Daniels"] for being a fantastic writing partner, and to [member="Matsu Xiangu"] & [member="Six-O"] for setting this up and being wonderful DMs.

Everyone wrote some fantastic stories, all of which were a joy to read along with. And I'm down for continuing things along, see what else is in store for our characters.

Still can't get over being within the Top 3. Holy crap, thank you!

[member="Vulpesen"] Since we didn't hear back from you, we haven't written you in the latest DM post for Lark's turn. If you'd like that to change just let us know - otherwise, thank you so much for participating and writing such an awesome story and we hope to see you for our next one! :D

[member="Kyrel Ren"] & [member="Halron Corr"] Just wanted to remind you that no matter how hurt you get in this, you'll get a free visit to a REFRESH clinic on Maena that repairs all wounds. Not that we want to see carnage or anything. >__>

[member="Kyle Raymus"] We'll include you in the next DM post whenever you're free to post. Thanks for continuing with us!
