Heavy Risks...but the Prize (Cira) (Training Thread)

Sustaining the crackle of energy was an intense, taxing process but nonetheless Siobhan managed, concentrating strongly on it to the exclusion of anything else.

She was sweaty, the frown on her face permanently etched on it from the intense focus, but she had passed the major hurdle on her path. Now came the easier and more entertaining part, harnessing the energy into a weapon.

She turned her eyes towards the training droid as it swirled through the training chamber, affixing her gaze on it. She moved her flesh hand forward, the palm of it outstretched, then suddenly a small spark of purple energy surged from her fingertips and was launched towards the machine.

The training dummy shook a bit when its circuitry was struck and sparks flew. It was temporarily stunned immobile for a few seconds, before continuing on its pre-programmed route.

Siobhan gave a wide grin at Cira, taking a moment to catch her breath. "I think I'm starting to get the hang of it."

That's when Cira gave a wide grin, "Oh yeah... and this is where it gets fun." she too, outstreched her hand, and arcs of purple energy burst forth from the slender digits towards the droid. It shuddered, stunned again, before it went along it's way.

"Haha... the greater the intensity in the charged ionized particles... the greater the effect. From stunning... to disabling... " her hand again, shot out, but this time, powerful currents of ionized energy went crackling towards the droid. It gave a sudden hiss, the scent of fried circuits filling the air for mere seconds before it exploded, sending scattered pieces of metal, circuits, and fried electronics on the ground.

"To destroying." she shot Siobhan a wide grin. "Let me get a couple of more droids. You can keep practicing." already moving towards the small console that would bring out out two more droids. "While the ionized energy can bring harm to anything with circuitry, it won't do anything to sentients. " she said, explaining the difference in energy outputs compared to Force spark or force lightning.

Siobhan laughed when currents of purple ion energy surged out from Cira's hand to blow the machine apart, making metal, circuits and electronics fly through the air and then land on the ground.

The smell of burnt electronics filled the air and in a span of moments two more training droids were released when Cira pressed the button on the console.

Siobhan focused her gaze upon the droids. She would not yet be able to strike multiple targets or create a synchronised surge of energy that could hop from one to the other, but she concentrated intently.

Finally after some more concentration a thin stream of purple energy shot out from her fingertips and struck the first droid. The current was slightly stronger than before and the droid shuddered, stunned, but for a slightly longer duration.

The process was taxing, she would need a good shower to get the sweat off, but Siobhan kept her focus, though conjuring up the currents seemed to be taking their toll on her.

Finally when she thrust out her hand, after several rounds of practice, a strong current was unleashed in a jolt of energy and struck at a droid. The machine let out a sudden hiss, then circuits were fried and it tumbled down to the ground. Admittedly this had been after going through several short salvoes, but nonetheless it represented progress.

There was a brief crackle in Siobhan's hands, then it dissipated when she flexed her fingers.

"Well done," Cira said with praise, a wide grin over her lips. "Good work." Her hand came to clap Siobhan on the shoulder.

She shot her a goodnatured wink, then dropped her hand. "I dunno about you... but I think I'm up for a good swim after this."

Cira flashed a warm smile, starting to walk away, then gave a pause, "Oh... and if you see a massive increase in credits in your account and a lofty new rank in your datafiles... consider it a working bonus."

Cira's words were answered with a wide, genuine smile from Siobhan. She was extremely sweaty, tired and worn out, and felt splendid, exhilarated, as contradictory as that might sound on first sight.

"Thanks," she said sincerely. "For teaching me and stuff. Means a lot. Beyond the obvious perks!" she said with a wry grin.

It was unspoken, as Siobhan liked to think she was not a wet hen and for some reason thought that voicing it would be wethennish, but she not really had anyone to learn from since Adril died.

Of course, this was not the same, for various obvious reasons. Different, but it felt good.

Working bonus, If Siobhan's eyes trailed after Cira as she departed and lingered on her rear for a bit longer than was decent, well, it was appreciation. A swim sounded good right about now...and she still had to report to Tegae, after all.
