Hello my old heart

There was something freeing about being in the water that the mirialan couldn't explain. She hadn't grown-up by the water but whenever she found herself submerged within something bigger than herself at the right temperature she just felt....at home. Floating was like flying with the burdens of gravity taken away. A part of her imagined the inexplicable love for water lay within the genes from one of the two she was cloned from.

Head surfaced, face lighter and a smile on her face as if she'd never been involved in a generation-long war.

Floating on her back near Maalik, head tipped to the side and lifted so she could hear him as her hands made little circles in the water along her hips to keep herself lazily afloat. "Oh, you'd be surprised how uncoordinated jedi can actually be," sparkling green orbs circled to magma flames. Sinking beneath the water by letting her feet fall, she submerged again, then surfaced. Water dripped down skin and hair, carving tiny rivers along green and ink.

"We don't have to stay in the water. I didn't realize that about Vong," Eyes searched the clear water around them. There. A root wound beneath the water and popped up, creating a bench-like shelf just a few inches beneath the clear surface. "Or, there," wading with her legs, green hand drifted along his arm and down his wrist, going to tug his hand and lead him to the perch.

"Oh, I don't know..." He let out a brief sigh, feeling his arm pulled behind him and tugged through the crystalline waters. A small wake formed from the slick of his black hair as his head drifted back, coming to a stop against the fledgling rust colored roots of the Tap Tree. "You're wiggling seemed coordinated enough."

A toothy grin followed as he looked over, eyes drifting over the various markings of ink rippling beneath the clear waters. Drip-drop, drip-drop. The resonance of the trickling drops of water, condensed from clouds of famished water in the upper atmosphere, added the slightest form of acoustics in the ebb and flow of the small pool. Pulling himself up on the root, he leaned back against the eroded silt of the swimming hole wall.

Feet and toes moved through the water, wiggling, as he looked down towards his reflection.

"Am I Yuuzhan Vong?" He chewed on his cheek. "That's an odd question, isn't it?" He breathed in heavily, glancing towards eyes of deep and soothing woods. Days ago, such a question would have seemed stupid. But now, now that the term Chiss didn't raise his heckles immediately, he experienced innate conflict."The changes that were made to me...they don't have to define me, do they?"
