Yes, I know, a "hello there" in the title, how original.

Greetings and salutations!
Just today I stumbled across this Star Wars Roleplaying forum and my interest spiked and creative juices started flowing just thinking of all the possibilities that can be done here.

A bit about myself: I am an avid and experienced roleplayer and love creating interesting storylines and characters, this also feeds into my hobby of worldbuilding. I am a long time fan of Star Wars with a particular affinity towards droids and the Old Republic Era. Also, my favorite Star Wars media pieces are the Clone Wars TV show, the KOTOR videogames, and many of the EU novels. Outside of Star Wars, I love learning about history as well as playing other videogames.

I do have a few questions about the forum RP, particularly about a character idea I have.
  • First off, my main character idea is an intelligent droideka (damaged during a battle and then repaired with a smarter, independent droid brain) that serves as a mercenary gun-for-hire. Would this fit and be feasible in the roleplays on this site, or is it too abnormal?
  • If the droideka is acceptable, I would like to have it join a faction, however, I am confused about how that process takes place, or if there is a process in the first place. Some clarification about how any process to join a faction works (and then start roleplaying for said faction) would be greatly appreciated.
  • Finally, I made a subaccount to test it out, however, the name is only supposed to be a place holder. I have switched accounts and tried to change the display name, but it says that I am using the wrong password despite it being the only password I know for my account. Is there a different password that I am supposed to use when changing the name of subaccounts, or some way to delete them if there isn't?
  • Bonus: Because I am curious about this, what is your favorite droid(s) in Star Wars? Mine would have to be either the BX or Droideka in canon or the Sentinel Droids used by the Sith in KOTOR.

I can help out with what I know at least with all of these questions

#1. I have seen weirder characters proposed and designed. I've seen Lightsabers, Force Ghosts...Heck, even I made some weird characters, like a Ghost of a Clone Commando, or a half Commando Droid, Half Droideka. So having a Droideka as a gun-for-hire isn't that far fetched. TLDR: Come up with what you want man.

#2. Joining a desired faction is easy, as there's 3 main methods Faction owners can do for joining them. Its either open, where you just have to go to the faction page, find the faction you want, click "Join Faction" and you're in, You do the same steps, except you have to wait until the request to join is approved by an admin, invite only, or a combination of Invite only with Admin Approval.

#3. To change the name of a sub-account, you just use your password for logging in with your writer's account. To delete a sub account though is a bit more tricky. You have to go to this thread, where you can request your sub-account to be merged with your writer account. This basically means that your sub account is removed, though the likes, subs, threads, and number of posts would be moved to your writer account.

#4. My Favorite Droid is actually the Super Tactical Droid, just simply due to its usefulness

Did someone just say an intelligent Droideka? Well, it's definitely workable and not even remotely far fetched. Now, you will want to join the Confederacy, don't you?

And one more thing. You can join multiple factions. No restrictions.

I keep using my password for my login (yes it still works for my main account, I have checked), but when I use it under my sub-account, I get a "Your current password is incorrect" error message. Is this a just bug or am I not doing something right?

That is a truly tempting offer but it depends on how well they pay. ;) (In all seriousness the Confederacy is the faction I am thinking the most about joining.)
