Help Can Come In Mysterious Ways

Eleutheria wasn't one for a combat based situation. Or maybe she could be, if she actually she knew how to do... Well, anything. Nonetheless, Ellie was grateful that [member="Curtis Learchin"] was able to help her. If he hadn't, she'd have every bit of her stuff stolen. Although, she wouldn't have been in the alleyway if he hadn't been creeping about.

She gave a nod. "Yeah, I get it," she mumbled as she took off. It was a quite a walk before they reached the large apartment complex, into the lobby & going up to the 149th floor. Stepping off, she unlocked the small apartment and stepped in, inviting Curtis in. "Doesn't look like anyones home," she said quietly as she closed and locked the door. Moving to the kitchen, which was right beside the door, she began to make some tea for the two of them.

"Sorry, it's not much. But it's home, for now."

(No worries! Uni comes first. :p)

Curtis entered the apartment with suspicion. It was dingy, and seemed to be slightly dangerous, but [member="Eleutheria Overjerr"] seemed comfortable enough. He placed his staff in the corner against the wall and sat down on the coach. He felt as if something was there, but at that moment he couldn't quite put his finger on what it was.

"It's a nice place, who do you live with?" Her having people living with her complicated things, as if one of them walked in, he'd have to lengthen the lie, and the longer the lie, the more likely it is to be uncovered. In a way, he envied her, she had a family and a home to call her own, while he had nothing but the armour and swordstaff. They were the only personal items of value that he owned, but he wished that he had more to show for his time amongst the Sith. Only the strong prospered, and he was far from strong yet.

The water boiled quickly, luckily, and she was able to place two tea bags in cups for the two of them. "Make yourself at home," she commented with a smile as he placed his staff down and moved towards the couch. Being a good hostess was a prime responsibility of hers.

Once the tea was finished, she walked over and placed it on the coffee table in front of him. She sat on a chair that was next to the couch. "My mother and grandparents. We... We're refugees. From Carida. And before that, Coruscant." She sighed as she thought about the past few years. How wild and crazy it had been.

Man, was the galaxy a mess. "Where are you from?"

[member="Curtis Learchin"]

"Refugees... what are you running from?" Curtis knew that this was a difficult question to answer, one that was deeply personal, but knowing and controlling your fears was the first step towards greater power. She answered his question with an equally challenging one, and he truly had to think whether to tell the truth. He didn't know where he'd been born, or who his real parents were. By all accounts he was an orphan.

"Dathomir, I was raised on the planet." He would say little more about his childhood, since his home was steeped in the dark side by nature. That's not to say that no Jedi came from the planet, but more often than not it was witches or Sith.

Eleutheria paused at his question. Was the plight of the refugees really that easily brushed under the rug in the broader galactic news? Ellie took a long sip of her tea as she thought about the horros that she had been through over the past several years. "Coruscant got sacked. Carida is... Unstable, with the collapse of the Republic."

Maybe things would get better. Maybe CIC wouldn't be as terrible and Sith like as she assumed they would be. Or maybe the Corellian Federation would turn out okay.

But one thing was for sure: Ellie wasn't holding her breath.

Although Eleutheria perked a brow at him being raised on Dathomir. With the supposedly gate to hell there and the witches and the now Sith presence. "Oh, that must have been... Challenging, especially with becoming a Jedi," she commented softly.

Curtis nodded silently, taking a sip of his tea. Dathomir was so closely tied to the dark side that maybe mentioning it was a mistake.

"It... wasn't easy. I was lucky to be found early in my life, avoided the corruption." His hairs on his arm start to spike up, like something was in the apartment. Was the force telling him something? Maybe it was just all in his head.

"Have you noticed anything strange around here?"
