The planet of Cioral
A clear morning

The day had come for the first Festival of Banners presented by the Iron Empire. Today there would be plenty of entertainment in the form of street performers, food and drink sold in avenues of colourful stalls and tents which sprouted up around the fair ground, enough for all the citizens of Cioral alongside the members of the Empire and it's allies. The main event and what attracted the peoples of this fair planet to walk through the gates, was the Full Metal Joust which would be held come midday. Come one, come all - anyone could enter to participate.

Theo walked through the long line of tents, the roasting meat would have been enough to bring him here on any given day but today he had no appetite for come midday he would participate in the Joust. He had never jousted before in his life, lucky he knows how to ride a horse having done so since he could walk on Midvinter, but this? His stomach churned with the thought of it. He had been well informed that the champion in this sport was someone call Roger Knightly. "Never heard of the guy", Theo had promptly told his informant, who just happen to be the squire for this Knightly chap.

As he walked through the gathering crowd, he looked for [member="Valae Kitra"], she had told him to meet at the Hot Potatoe stall. Like he knew where that was. And the thought of her made him just that little bit more nervous. Paying little attention to his surroundings a sudden ball of flame erupted before his face singeing some of the hairs on his beard, he turned snapping out of his thoughts to find himself in the middle of a circle surrounded by fire eaters and lots of applause. Seemed the crowd thought him part of the act. "Isn't that .. that's the Praetor", he heard the voice of a young boy say, which encouraged Theo's pace to get out of there after he offered the crowd an awkward bow.

He let out a sigh of relief when he spotted the sign of the Hot Potatoe hanging over a red tent and the seller was doing well with trade as the line for his potatoes went around the corner. He couldn't see Valae though and so he decided to prop up the nearest wall, and waited for her to arrive.

Between missions and peacekeeping operations, it was always nice to blow off some steam. This festival being held by the Iron Empire was a great opportunity to do so while continuing to promote good relations between the two groups. The themes and events were quite unlike anything she had ever encountered, so Arisa would enter the grounds with her Silver peers greatly intrigued.

After helping herself out to some street food, it wasn't long before she discovered that there was supposed to be a jousting tournament underway later that day. Jousting. Never having heard of it, she had to look up the event on the HOLONET while experienced participants explained things to her as they worked on their equipment. From all these sources, the gist of it was two riders on mounts, usually equine, would charge at each other with the object to strike or dismount their opponent. On the surface, the event appeared quite dangerous, but there looked to be a whole host of safeguards to protect all participants from serious harm.

While a total novice on the sport, the adventurous Jedi decided to give it a go and throw herself into the competition. Of course, she had no equipment, but that wasn't an issue, as event planners had spare
sets on hand just for the tournament.

So now there she was, strolling through the lanes of the fairgrounds decked out in full plate armor to get a feel for the stuff. She was pleasantly surprised to see that she was still afforded a good deal of mobility in the Rennzeug style plate armor, though she couldn't raise her left arm very high where the plating was thickest.

She looked around as she walked, trying to spot some of her fellow Silvers in the crowds so that she could show off her new duds before reporting back to the field for a training session ahead of the tournament. At a stall called the Hot Potatoe, she would spot Théodred hanging out. Even if she hadn't known who he was (mostly by reputation), the son of
Thurion and Coci would have stood out from his great size alone. Up close, the Atrisian woman of above average height just came up to his chest.

"Fancy meeting you here," she would say, offering a playful curtsy in keeping with the theme of the festival. "Congratulations on your promotion, by the way. I'm sure your parents are very proud."

Valae Kitra had arrived to the festival grounds a few hours ago, and had been thoroughly enjoying herself as she meandered through the sea of stalls. She had never seen anything like this, and it was a day that would surely come to stick out in her memory. The area was decked out in colorful banners, many that proudly displayed the emblem of the Iron Empire. There were also all sorts of colorful folk, too. Voices called out to passersby, stall vendors seemed to be very animated as they attempted to draw visitors over to their wares. And there was the delightful aroma of freshly baked goods, roasted meats, and spiced mead to scent the air.

She had been planning to meet [member="Théodred Heavenshield"] by the potato vendor to have a bite, but she’d already been through the line once, she hadn’t been able to resist. Valae had not stopped there. The canvas bag that hung from her shoulder had been stuffed with a few hand pies that were filled with vegetables and meat, a bag of fresh crisps that had been cooked in a kettle, and two hot potatoes that were now approaching a reasonable temperature to eat. In her hand was a rather large skewer of roasted meat, and a mug of mead in the other. As she wound her way through the crowd, she gazed about wide-eyed in wonder.

On her way back to the Hot Potatoe, she was accosted by a very enthusiastic juggler. The merry man had danced around her as he juggled a surprising number of colored balls, and had ended his act by crowning Valae with a wreath of purple flowers. A prize earned for being a good sport. With a wide smile, she continued on her way.

Almost immediately, she spotted the tall form of Theo… and that of a woman dressed head to toe in a suit of armor. Valae blinked a couple of times upon realizing that it was none other than the Grandmaster herself.

“Whoa now, look at you!” She said to [member="Arisa Yune"] as she approached, a lively laugh escaped her. “This stuff suits you.”

Next she turned to Theo and offered a grin.

“Good to see you again, Theo.” She would say casually as she reached into her bag. Valae held out a potato from the stall, wrapped in a cloth. “Got this for you!”

Yuroic had been pulled away from his greatly increased studies to attend the event being held by the Iron Empire, the group of people he had briefly met when his Master, Arisa, had brokered a trade deal with them. It was a different style from what he was use to, everything seemed old fashion but at the same time, strangely interesting. Yuroic was wearing simple leathers and underneath were some comfortable plain robes. Giving a short bow to Theodred and Vitrae, one he had never met and only saw his parents and baby brother. The other he had spent time in the nature of Voss helping her garden.

Attempting to adjust his costume, something different from what he was normally use to. Greetings Master Yune, Master Kitra and Master Heavenshield. Hope you are all well. Scratching the back of his head, he stood around feeling slightly out of place as he realised that he never really knew the other people around here.

"Hey Yurioc, man!" Dagos called as he jogged over to his friend. Dagos had been wandering around the grounds of the festival for almost an hour taking in all the sights and there were many. He'd spent very little time off of Voss so when the chance to come to Cioral had been presented he took it. He didn't know most of the people here but he had heard mention of Master Havensheild or maybe it was his son, he had a hard time remembering now that he'd had a couple mugs of ale. What he did remember however was having a fairly helpful conversation with Thurion ages ago one sunny afternoon.

He got over to Yuroic and noticed that the crowd near him wasnt't just the normal gaggle of people waiting to get something from the potatoe stand but a group of people that he knew(well mostly.) There were a couple faces he recognized from the gardens on Voss and one he did not recognize at all.

"Oh. Hey, everybody." Dagos said unaware that he spilled a bit of his fourth mug down the front of his robes as he'd jogged over on the uneven terrain.

Kiran Arlos

A sparring duel.....

Kiran was on his way to the jousting lanes to spectate and potentially partake in such events, however the clashing and clanging of swords and armor had caught his attention as he smiled while watching the event. Kiran had indeed found home when he crash landed on Ilum many weeks ago. The Iron Empire had caught his full attention and he was indeed happy hear, for this was the place where he had his first untroubled night of sleep and many more that had followed after that.

He had seen one individual who wielded two swords defeat their next opponent pretty easily.

"Who's going to be next?!" The announcer spoke across the area, glancing in any and every direction."Our current champion hasn't been defeated thus far today!" There were several others who raised their hands, and then as the champion glanced around to them, some of their hands lowered and that is when Kiran raised his hand.

"I"ll give it a shot." Kiran said with a small smirk, it looked like fun, and he liked to believe he was a pretty decent swordsman.

"We have a several challengers folks!" The announcer declared while Kiran and two others were next in line. "You will be third in line young man!" He declared towards Kiran, "Ready yourself and your turn will come after these two should they defeat the current champion you will be next against the new one. But I highly doubt it!"

"Armor up friends!"

Kiran moved towards the armory, while most of the weapons were dulled obviously for the event itself, however a hit against the body would still provide a small amount of pain.

"This isn't the first time..." Kiran chuckled as he glanced around while deciding which Armour route to go,while he knew that wielding one of these weapons was quite different than wielding a lightsaber. This would be quite interesting.

Kastin had insisted on attending this festival. Specifically for emergency purposes, as he'd explained to the other guests from the Silver Order that had also came in attendance. However, in reality, the man wanted nothing more than to stuff himself with plenty of delicious foods, beers, and see what sort of women this Iron Empire had to offer.

His selfish little ruse had worked all the way down to the letter.

The medic was quite pleased with himself. The pep in his step aligned perfectly with the folk music fluttering through the air, and he raised his nose on more than one occasion in attempt to determine the location of those decadent aromas of grilled meats and flowing mead. Clad in a simple grey t-shirt with matching trousers and boots, Kastin was immediately the center of attention of several young Chiss boys and girls. They zeroed in on him like bees to flowers and adorned him as such.

Within moments, the flabbergasted medic had been thoroughly colored. Several floral necklaces had been hung about his neck along with a bracelet that hung loosely about his wrist. He'd tried in vain to deny the little head-wreath that they had as well, but his efforts were fruitless. He was sure they even draped some of the things onto his backpack as well - but he didn't exactly mind.

Before his festive mood took him away in search of food, drink and girls, the sight of the Hot Potatoe and those beneath its rungs drew him closer.

The group of people grew even larger as he strode up, depositing that backpack of his in the stall.

"Masters Yune, Kitra," the man gave a little half bow in greeting, displaying all of his floral resplendence in turn. A smile and curt wave that followed was for everyone else, though he was sure to learn their names soon enough after a few drinks.

Talis was training like any other day, swinging his saber to shoulder to shoulder at the dummy, He continued to strike at the post, He slowly sighed, Sweatbead's dribbled down Talis's forehead.

He slowly wiped them off putting his saber on his belt, He slowly looked outside, Did he want to attend this..festival? He didn't know if he could talk to anyone there, He left out a sigh, Talis cleaned up his mess he had made, Soon Talis was outside walking to the such Festival, hopefully he would fit in.

Talis looked at all the assortment's that the festival had to offer, There was alot of flashing light's Talis rubbed his eyes slowly. The lingering smell of food was in the festival, Festival food was great, Talis soon had his arm's full of food walking around trying every food he could.

The food that Talis was holding was hard to see over, He was nervous and was trying to not bump into anyone, Suddenly Talis bumped into someone, He dropped some of his food on the floor, He looked to see who he bumped into, It was [member="Arisa Yune"] "I'm so sorry Grandmaster" Talis said while giving off a Nervous chuckle trying to pick up some of the fallen food having more fall over off of his pile.

For every festival, or gathering, there was always someone that had to provide security. The Anzat had been one of the people who technically was supposed to help with that, but even he could be a rule-breakerat times. Wanting to see others compete, the dark sider decided to hide his signature to be compared to other Iron Centurions that had been deployed here was well.A double had therefore been hired, with the same face as the Anzat, and practically the same physical features as him(cybernetics included); additionally, he had delegated everything to his assistant, and the double was a trusted official in the IE Army.

A large percentage of the people here were dressed in costumes, some representing ancient Chiss legends, and others representing some from Midvinter, and so forth. Krayzen decided to take this opportunity, wearing a black hood(with his face covered) that represented had some mythical significance he didn't care about. If anyone asked him, he made sure to carry identification only few could get due to their ranks, although no one wasn't asking him anything at the moment.

With his force sight, he could see everything within his vicinity. He had heard there was going to be a restaurant where various people were going to meet, but the Anzat ignored it, instead choosing to get some of the best sitting at the place where the event would be located. To put it simply, he was an an ant among giants, well hidden, but someone skilled could be detected.

I wonder who will emerge victorious?

The idea to come here had been one borne of curiosity at most. Life was still being a whirlwind, but at least it had settled somewhat for Kaili. Old worries were replaced with new ones but she kept on keeping on. It felt like the right thing to come see this event after having remembered the things that people from the Iron Empire had done for her in the immediate aftermath of the one event that had thrown her entire world out of balance. While she wanted to claim that they were all good folks, that was still something that remained to be seen. She had only met one of them and he had been a Heavenshield. One would be hard-pressed to find bad seeds amongst them. At least according to the shallow skim Kaili would have done into their family history.

Sporting a jacket and overall outfit actually fitted for the climate for once, she traversed across the fields in which this ‘full metal joust’ thing was being held. She wouldn’t join, it wasn’t her kind of sport, but the idea to watch wasn’t one she was opposed to. In general the place would have an eerily similar way about it as that of the people on Kilia IV where she had once stayed with Mara in her castle. Primitive, yet somehow kind of not. It was like a celebration of anti-technology, yet not really. It confused Kaili to no end why people would do such a thing, but she tried to enjoy it as much as the rest of them did.

Stepping up to a market stall of hand-carved wooden souvenirs she found herself looking at a small… Bowl. No, wait, jar. No, it was certainly a bowl. Brow perked and teeth gritted in confusion. This whole thing was very confusing to her. Where was the buzz of droids and machinery? Oh it was there, and it was all speaking to her, but the magnitude of it was so small that she could almost not hear it. In the end she had resorted to letting her holopad get flooded with trivia on this weird culture if only to keep herself sane and her mind occupied. The force tapped into the dataflow to pick and poke at each entry that flooded the device on her wrist. She continued walking down the path towards the food… Court… Place… Thing.

Grilled meats, grilled vegetables, hot meats and hot potatoes, and right next to it was none other than the one and only Theodor Heavenshield. Brows reached for her hairline in surprise. She was about to go over when another woman, someone shorter, stepped up to him dressed in armor. Brows sunk in even further confusion. And then another person approached him, and then someone approached her, and then another one entered the scene and before you knew it someone even walked into someone else.

Eyes blinked. It seemed she had managed to find the one she thought she’d meet. But then again, so had just about everyone else as well. A grin spread on the blonde’s lips as she considered whether to stay away or not. She didn’t do crowds, they were… Well, literally crowded. It was a word.

Mental shrug.

She bought herself some kind of roasted piece of what seemed to be the leg of a small beast. It looked a bit like a club and she sunk her teeth into it with a smile as she watched the scene play out with Theo and the mysterious armored woman, the woman with the flower in her hair, and the rest of people whom she could only assume were Jedi from their auras.

Meanwhile a big metaphysical blob of dull gray would just sit there on a bench with food in her hands staring at them.

The place was bustling with activity, with colourful banners and tents all over the place, people were wearing all kinds of costumes suited for the event.
Nia was recommended to wear a dress, but it didn't suit her, so she wore a brown gambeson making it easy for her to get around whilst being dressed for the occasion.
She also had a crown of white flowers sitting on top of her brown hair, some excited bystanders insisted she wear it to which Nia accepted, the atmosphere had made her feel welcomed.

The Padawan kept close to her fellow Jedi Xeraic so she wouldn't get lost as they moved through the crowd towards a stall called the Hot Potatoe

Yuroic greeted Master Yune who was dressed in armour standing with Theodred Heavenshield and Valae.

"Aren't you hot in that armour master?" She asked Arisa.

Never Underestimate a Good Bottle of Whiskey
This is beautiful! So many attractions, so much happiness and glee! I just want to shout to the skies!

Jerit thought. He loved the festival. He was wearing his traditional Jedi robes, as he was only going to check out what the festival had to offer. He felt through the force the feelings of everyone's happiness and joy and it made him smile immensely from cheek to cheek. He walked through the tents, admiring what attractions each held. He saw men walking in groups drinking and laughing. He saw little children running about playing games with mothers hurrying after them. It was a scene to boost anyone's spirits.

I absolutely adore this!

Jerit walked and walked and walked through the crowds of people for a little while before he started to grow with hunger in his stomach. He clenched it and wondered where the nearest tent may be that held consumables. He was strolling until he came upon a tent that smelled heavenly of meats and other products. He also felt a presence through the force. Someone familiar. He came closer to the food stall and the Grand Master was there with other Jedi.

He went up to everyone and gave a hefty hello. It was full of spirit and happiness. The padawan just could not get enough of this place. He loved it!

His moment of solitude in the gathering crowd was short lived. Theo had been people watching and enjoying the sight of them enjoying themselves among a wide host of activities and entertainment, the best attraction by far was the food and drink stalls. Until a woman approached him clad in armour and it was none other than the recently appointed grandmaster of the Silvers, [member="Arisa Yune"].

He pushed off the wall to greet her with a Jedi bow, Theo may have left the Silver Order but he would always follow decorum and the ways of the Jedi. "Grand Master Yune, it is a pleasure to see you", he had seen her before on Voss had not really had much to do with her as she mainly lived in the skies and he was but a boy. He had only ever knew of his father as grandmaster and so this was a reminder that things do indeed, change. "And thank you for your kind words". A small grin crossed his face, for come the turn of midday he could be facing her on the joust run. "You are to participate in the Joust I see .. as will I. May the force be with you". His grin turned into that trade mark cheeky Heavenshield smile.

Laden with food, Valae finally arrived and he greeted her with a smile as well as he took the potatoe from her, “Thank you Val I could use some food”, she looked so pretty with flowers in her hair which highlighted her eyes, and he was about to tuck into it when more people joined them.

A new generation of Jedi for the Silver Order and none of which he had had the pleasure of meeting before today. Theo acknowledged them all with a customary bow and words of welcome. And it seemed they had been partaking in all that the festival had to offer, no doubt with duty, it would prevent most from indulging in such things as this today. It was good to see them here, and a part of the Iron Empire’s celebrations.

So many sensations of emotions surrounded the group, not the mention that of the people at the festival that is was difficult to determine anyone’s presence in the force, especially when they are new to him. But there came a sense of the familiar, a little way off from him, a big anti-social gray blob of force presence that had surprised him to say the least. Her presence was more than familiar to him, considering what the two had recently experienced in the caves of Ilum, whether they wanted it or not they now shared a bond of it. Theo turned to see Kaili sitting by a wall chewing on a bone.

How good it felt to finally relax and have a drink.

This was one of the rare occasions that I was allowed to kick back, relax and finally take that god forsaken helmet off, it stinks in that thing. You honestly don't know the half of it. It's disgusting... Anyway, I finally got to wear that coat a got a while back, looks similar to a trench coat. I had my jousting armour on underneath, nothing fancy, just a few plates thrown together with chain-mail and a white tabard.

I made my way through the streets, I had arrived fashionably late, as always, looking for the group. The Silver Jedi, that is. I'd foolishly agreed to accompany them and even joust... Why did I agree to joust? I've never ridden a horse in my life and I'd be doing it drunk nonetheless. This was a bad decision... I needed to get drunk, I thought it'd numb the pain. Turns out that I was right. With that single thought it my head, I headed off in search of booze and festivities. I found what I was looking for in the shape of a tent, I could sense the happiness. How you ask? I have no clue, yet I did.

Several... Questionable decisions later, I was drunk enough. I then stumbled out of the tent, heading to find my comrades, lucky enough I found them relatively quickly. They were all huddled outside a stall called the "Hot Potatoe" serving... Potatoes? Who the hell eats a baked potato at a medieval-esque festival? I was expecting a banquet of sorts, I was disappointed to say the least. Alas, I had to participate and so I bought a potato and approached the growing crowd.

"Ah, Comrades. Enjoying the festival so far?"

When it raines... it pours.

Samara Raine had never attended anything like this before and was excited to be at the Festival of Banners the Silver Jedi had been invited to. The young padawan too had never been to the Unknown Regions especially Chiss space where the Iron Empire resided. Cioral had surprised her as she'd always pictured the planets here to be icy worlds like Csilla, but the avid reader had not taken the time to research this time where they were going... a folly for sure not to happen again.

Dressed to fit in with the medieval theme, the honey blonde had chosen a simple handmaiden dress with a woven shawl to wear over the top along with her lightsaber and a med kit attached to the waisted belt out of sight. Samara's golden hair was plaited loosely back and off her face.

The Apprentice Healer's master, [member="Valae Kitra"], was having a planned meet up with someone she knew so the elder teen was content to just walk around and take in thoughtfully through her sea green eyes the different events like the jousting and stopping briefly at the stalls to sample the various foods provided.

Another festival, or gathering, or party, or something like that. How did Josh end up in so many of these? And do so without knowing anyone in the vicinity? The Jedi Master really needed to get some new friends, honestly, the more he looked at it... Seriously, his old ones either died, or became... Well... Not nice people. But with what he'd said to [member="Arisa Yune"] before, he'd been encouraged to go to more of these... Meet and potentially work with other Jedi... Or at least their allies.

So he had shown... In a nice outfit as well. [member="Shmi Labooda"] had also been invited to attend if they could find a babysitter for Jason, but considering the Silvers had offered one... Well, suppose we'd see if she did show. Either way, the 6'4 Jedi Master would step into the hall, gazing around with a curious, but wary eye... He pondered if he should try and bother some stranger, try to strike up a conversation... Or just go for the food and drinks and hope for the best.

The choices, the choices, the choices...

Zadeehr had came with the grandmaster to Cioral although she intend to enjoy all the festivities he had came with purpose, his goal was the joust. Sport and physical activity was a good way for him to channel his instinctual rage, although he wasn't an expert in the sport he understood the basics and had some practice his real advantage was in his ability in the force and his natural physical abilities. In preparation for the tournament Zadeehr used some of the little money he had to purchase a proper set of fitted metal armour.

He leaned against a nearby wall while his Master, the Grandmaster Arisa Yune, talked to one of the Iron Empire officials, someone he didn't recognise but she clearly did. In addition to having to wait Zadeehr was already in a poor mood, he could smell all the foods surrounding them, everything smelled amazing and of course because he was a Rapax couldn't partake. There was only so many ways you could eat flash cloned human flesh before you got sick of it, sure there were other species but human was the easiest so that's what he got.

Zadeehr was getting anxious and he pushed off the wall and walked to stand next to his master hoping to convey his wish to keep moving without rudely interrupting.

Well...it seemed like she almost disappeared. You never really heard much about her anymore unless a certain someone was rambling but when she took a step back, she really did. Functions like this were...unusual now and she wasn't quite sure if she was going to attend. Josh mentioned he would be going for sure, she decided to ponder over the invitation a bit more. What would this mean? How would she feel? Who would she know? Then there were all the questions related to the safety of her child...indeed, during he break she had started a family; she found that life more pleasing than her Jedi career.

Nevertheless she didn't come with anyone, arriving on her own after she got things situated. She entered the hall and stepped over to the side before glancing as far as her gaze would take her before faces became completely unrecognizable. She figured she should look for a familiar face, one in particular, all the while taking in all the festivities.

He had to admit, it was the first jousting tournament he had been invited to. The Ephicanthix had never been to the Iron Empire, his first time in the Chiss core worlds. Velus had never thought the Chiss of all people would host something like this, but it seemed that they had broaden their senses.

And now he was here. Velus could have made up some excuse, and said he had business in the Outer Rim Coalition. Truthfully though, he was interested in it. Some, including their Grand Master, had volunteered to take part in the jousting tournament. The Rebel wasn't aware of this however, finding it a shock when he had arrived to the restaurant where they all gathered.

His mind however briefly focused on the greatest weakness of any Jedi, booze. Control yourself! Velus was a heavy drinker, but as a man with many personal barriers, he never told anyone his hobbies.

"Hello everyone." he said, deciding to try to socialize today. The Neutral Padawan approached [member="Jerit Kolomor"], a Padawan he had served with before. Never Underestimate a Good Bottle of Whiskey
When Jerit finished greeting his colleagues, he saw a padawan he had been with before. The man went up to the padawan and asked if Jerit was excited for the event. Jerit's happiness was let out and he said with jubilee,

" I am indeed very excited for the event! Though I will not be participating, only spectating. Will you be participating in the joust? "

The Joust. Jerit was very excited to see this event. In fact, it is his number one highlight of the whole festival! He loved seeing people fight. Not just to see some action, but to learn and reflect. He hoped that his friends would enter in the event, so Jerit can give them roaring cheers and applause.
