- Just like the weapon it is based on, the Verpine rounds were specifically designed to automatically adjust their aim within an arc to hit their target. However, to even activate this ability required the weapon to be locked onto a target for a full five seconds concurrently before it was able to share that data with other 'Big Iron' or 'Vora' in the region. This tracking does not apply to the Disruptor, however.
- Shot For Shot -
- Along with exceptional accuracy, the 'Big Iron' is a handgun with more in common with anti-tank armaments than weapons its size. With a Disruptor main gun able to pierce and 'disrupt' all but the most well forged Beskar and Phrik - a few shots of the legendary hand gun could see vehicles disabled, men turned to goop, and force sensitves made insensitive; while the six Verpine rounds allow it to pierce lightsaber defenses with extreme speed.
- Two Sizes Too Big -
- With great power comes great size, and the 'Big Iron' lives up to its apt moniker. Its exceptional body means it is nearly impossible to hide on someone's person - leave alone fitting in standard holsters. While other Jaeger products are form fitted, the general consensus remains that the 'Big Iron' is a bit too big of an iron for most practical applications.
- Percussive Maintenance -
- Due to its complicated computer systems, and onboard droid brain - the 'Big Iron' is exceptionally liable to ion and emp related damage. Any amount can force the system to cease any advanced operational procedures, and revert to more standard practices - though it should be noted, that while it will still function its accuracy is reduced by a significant degree.
Where as the HG-54 "The Vora" managed to set the new galactic standard for large form factor handguns, the HG-88 "Big Iron" looks to add to that by creating a disruptor brand handgun capable of knocking enemy combatants aside like putty in the hot sun. In almost ever open combat way, the 'Big Iron' out does its predecessor - albeit lacks in the silent nature of it, weight, size, and overall usability.
After Jaeger's profound success with the more well known 'Vora', it brought the design back to the table for recreation, and knew that despite all the advances it had made with the HG-54, it had to improve exceptionally on the idea if it were to ever truly manage. Jaeger brought on board ever facet of its research and development team - and decided that reinventing the wheel wouldn't make a better handgun.
Instead, they found that improving on the already exceptional features - at the cost of ammo capacity - would allow the new 'revolver' style Verpine-Disruptor hybrid to decimate most enemy contacts. Giving it a greater firing strength, a wider variety of standand ammunition types, more modular support, and reiterating the tracking ammunition of its predecessor; all that helped created the HG-88, and push it towards the magnum opus of its market.
Overall, the HG-88 "Big Iron" Hand Cannon is capable of decimating anyone you find across from you at high noon; and can certainly bring in any would be criminals, so long as they can't clear leather. So long as you have this 'Big Iron' on your hip - you're the baddest ranger in town.
