Hi there. I'm a new member here at SWRP and am looking for a faction to join. I'm looking to make a fleeting character but have little experience with it. Would this be a place for me? I'd like to be apart of another persons fleet to start off while learning the ropes. Basically just asking for any information that's not in the informational posts. Thanks!

Welcome! 
Fleeting is totally cool. However, it is very much based on your own personal initiative to succeed and prosper. Unlike most Jedi and Sith Apprentices, (Of whom there is a majority,) finding fleet opponents, stories, and partners can take awhile.
I would probably start off as a Commander in the GA Navy flying a Frigate. Getting yourself used to the Factory Rules for Starship Creation as well as the Template for Starship Specs. Once you're familiar with the tech jargon? Then jump yourself up to Captain Rank and pick any GA ship you'd like to fly. Easy easy easy.
And again. Welcome aboard.

Hey welcome! Pretty much what Monica said, start off with one ship then over time as you gain experience you can move up to multiple vessels.

I'm a Factory Judge on the board that specializes mostly with starships, and this character himself is a Rear Admiral in the GADF Navy. If you wish I can help you with the Factory tech jargon that Monica was speaking about so we can get you a ship suited to your capabilities.
Having a small frigate-sized vessel like others suggested is a great way on learning the ropes of fleeting. Just make sure to not to get vaporized!
