Approved Tech HNDA-Mk I (Hemostatic Neural Disruptor Array – Mark One)

Status
Not open for further replies.
Manufacturer: Risen Imperial Armory
Type: Electronic
Market Status: Closed Market
Production: Limited
Weight: Heavy
Size: Average
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Emits low-frequency neurosonic and EM pulses that agitate cognitive centers used in Force concentration
  • Radius of effect: ~5 to 8 meters, depending on local interference
  • HUD feedback integration when field contacts a known Force-sensitive
  • Multi-unit resonance scaling for team deployment
STRENGTHS
  • Anti-Force Utility: Disrupts a Force user's ability to focus, causing difficulty concentrating on advanced Force techniques like telekinesis, mind tricks, or Battle Meditation.
  • Team Amplification: Multiple units can reinforce the effect across a wider area or intensify disruption in a single target zone.
  • Hard to Resist: The system targets the user's mind, not the Force itself—bypassing some conventional Force defenses.
WEAKNESSES
  • No Effect on Non-Force Sensitives: The system offers no general combat advantage against ordinary enemies.
  • Shielded/Resilient Minds: Highly trained or enraged Force users (especially Sith) may power through the disorientation.
  • Electronic Vulnerability: Susceptible to EMP or ion attacks which may short out the disruptor's pulse field.
  • Close-Range Only: Requires proximity (5–8 meters) to be effective, leaving the user vulnerable to Force attacks from range.
DESCRIPTION
The Hemostatic Neural Disruptor Array (HNDA) is a precision-engineered device developed by the Risen Empire to counteract the battlefield advantage of Force users. Traditional Jedi and Sith rely on moment-to-moment concentration and focus to summon and control their powers. Drawing on ancient Sith torture techniques and neuro-acoustic disruption theory, the HNDA was born from research into the neurological signatures of Force engagement.

Mounted on the armor of Purge Troopers, the HNDA projects a specialized subsonic field in a localized radius. This field destabilizes brainwave patterns associated with Force meditation and combat focus, causing disorientation, visual noise, and in some cases, nausea or headaches. Though it doesn't sever a Force user's connection, it significantly hampers their control—making techniques like telekinetic throws, precognition, and Force stealth harder to perform reliably.

In field testing, the HNDA proved especially useful in small-unit tactics, where multiple troopers could layer their fields to create "dead zones" of Force reliability, forcing even skilled Jedi into purely physical combat. However, its effectiveness wanes at long range, and it's not foolproof against users of strong will or immense power.

With its single-frequency output and passive area effect, the HNDA is a simple but brutal instrument in the Risen Empire's arsenal—a psychological weapon meant to turn a Jedi's greatest strength into their greatest liability.
