Home of the Assassins v. 2.1

It has been long since Malif Cove was destroyed, and while we made an effort to settle ourselves elsewhere in the galaxy, we have not followed through to the end. It is time we changed this; it's time settled into a new home.

I bring up this discussion because I believe it's important for those of you who are active to have something of a say in the matter of where we hang our figurative hats. So, I would like for you all to come with some suggestions and input. If none is given, then a planet will simply be chosen.

Umbara has long been a coveted option due to its history with earlier orders of sith assassins. However, it is currently in the hands of the Galactic Republic. Establishing a base on a republic world would be foolish.

Malachor V was too once the home of sith assassins. It is unoccupied, but also lies on the opposite side of the Galaxy on the border of the Silver Sanctum Coalition. We would be far from our mother faction, The One Sith, and under constant threat of invasion.

Ryloth was a place of training for assassins under the Brotherhood of Darkness. It is currently owned by the Techno Union.

Coruscant, under Darth Krayt's One Sith, Coruscant was the home of the agency of Sith Intelligence and Assassination. Restoring this base would place us in the centre of Sith Territory, which is a blessing and a curse.

There are innumerable other planets for us to situate ourselves on without a canon precedence. This would make the world far more open for us to make our own history, and it could make our connection to the world less obvious.

The question is, where? Do we establish ourselves on a planet within or without the territory of the One Sith?

O'Reen has been suggested. It's a fortress world in the Unknown Regions, once belonging to the original Galactic Republic, but later turned to isolation and piracy. We could infiltrate the planet and establish a base while puppeteering the pirates.

Do you have any suggestions or preferences?
 
I say all of them.

A good network of Assassins has more than one home to operate from, all throughout the Galaxy. The center? Might as well be Coruscant. Then we can branch out and begin missions in other parts of this giant sandbox of a galaxy we have. Get set up simple, then go crazy.
 
Most of you know me as [member="Nox"], who's been away for a long while.
But if I'm coming back, I figure might as well start with this.

My suggestion would be Vullain. No real stuff there, and as the creator, I can help set us up there. It's in the far north of OS territory, with open access to the Silvers, Mandos, and the Pubs.

Just my suggestion.

One office on Coruscant, this will be to draft initiates and to deal with the political matters of our work. Then, we make numerous homes on different planets where we train and house assassins safely.

Vullain is a good suggestion for one such world. It is remote, but has a vantage point to several factions we may need to strike. It's owned by the One Sith so we will find no opposition to our presence. We could probably put another one on Malachor V and Ryloth.

We could even work to place safe-houses on worlds under Jedi influence. These houses would simply be hideouts for assassins in a pinch.

I've been an advocate for this idea even back when we had Malif Cove because it would give us several assassin-specific sceneries to RP in, rather than only one.

My one gripe with that is I don't feel like we have the OOC or IC numbers to support such an endeavor.
Outposts and safe houses, sure, but I feel like once central base is the way to go, at least until the SA are back on their feet.

That is a viable concern, we are few and the Assassins will likely never have the numbers to fill numerous bases. In the case of a single central base, I would hold for Coruscant due to the galactic central position. From there, make a number of safe havens for one or two assassins at a time.

I can agree with Coruscant.
Aforementioned galactic position, heavily protected as the Sith capital, and easy to disappear in if things go belly up.
I'll throw my weight behind Coruscant, as well.

When I mentioned all of them I meant basically that. One home base, then sparsely filled secondary bases that one or two people could hide in. Or contact the main base when needed.

This thread has now been up for about 5 days.

Though the number of votes is low, it is unanimous that we set up a base on Coruscant and a number of smaller locations around the galaxy. I will start the thread today or tomorrow, depending on my other duties.

I would suggest we delve into the underground of Coruscant, but not too far from the Sith temple, thus we could keep contact both with the criminal world and with the temple.

Perhaps we have an underground tunnel between the temple and our base? If you have suggestions, feel free to use this thread or our Skype Chat to discuss.
