[Zayden Madera]

He didn't have to wait long for the training to proceed. After every other acolyte had gotten their electroblade and gotten a feel for it, the Sith Knight, [member="Greta Kohler"], spoke up once again. This time, she mentioned that she would be starting the session off with Makashi, which made sense to Zayden in the way that Form II would come before Form V. When she told them if they knew the opening stance to Makashi, Zayden's heart sank a little. Was I supposed to study before coming here? Welp, I flunked that part.

Zayden was relieved when she stated that she would be showing how to get into the formation, as well. In one quick motion, she grabbed one of the blades from the bag and went into a Makashi starting position. Blade in the left hand, feet spread shoulder width, right arm to the side. Seems simple enough...

Zayden tossed the electroblade from his right hand over to his left, lowered the blade in front of himself, and spread his legs so that they match his shoulders. He stood still in this form for a small amount of time with his eyes closed. His eyes opened when his teacher began speaking again. She told the acolytes to split. Those that were already familiar with Makashi would go on to dueling, and those that weren't familiar with Makashi would remain. Well, I definitely count as one of the unfamiliar ones.

With that, Zayden remained in place holding the mirrored Makashi form as best he could.

Greta was surprised. Either this bunch of acolytes were more humble than they seemed, or they all had something up their sleeves. She was inclined to think more of the latter. Very well then, the class shall stick together as one. That made it easier to teach them anyway, not having to split her attention between two groups. The students had all managed to mirror and perform the opening stance of Makashi well, but that were merely the beginning and the easiest step of all. "Let's move on with the typical Makashi flourish." With the blade in her hands, the Sith knight rapidly moved the tip of the blade in an X-shaped pattern through the air. "Some would follow with the Makashi salute but the salute is not necessary."

"If you are interested in the salute, however, this is how it goes." She brought the blade vertically in front of her face then swung it down quickly, followed by the flourish. "One thing to take note of is that, the salute is not an attack or manoeuvre but a challenge to an opponent. It's entirely up to you if you wish to do either, but most Form II users simply do them to taunt or challenge their opponents." With the simple and basic part done, the group could finally proceed on with something more interesting. The the two main Marks of Contact. "The Sun djem and the Shiak. The marks of contact were simply moves and manoeuvres performed with a lightsaber."

"Typical Form II applications of the Sun djem were precise attacks aimed at the opponent's weapon itself rather than the person itself, with the very intention to disarm the opponent from his weapon. Shiak, however was a more advanced manoeuvre, relying on tight footwork and elegant precise swordplay, all of which followed a single back-and-forth line." Greta lowered her blade and proceeded to demonstrate the moves, moving forth with skilled footwork, her feet dancing upon the sands of Korriban as she lunged her blade back-and-forth, striking the tip of Jurs's blade several times, before striking with a heavier blow, disarming the acolyte of his sword.

Why Jurs? The Nautolan was simply the closest to her, and she needed someone to test it out on. That was why he had moved closer to her, was it not? So that she could test it out on him. And so she did. She was continue watching the lot of them while they practiced.

Asking was..simply not necessary, nor was it in her nature to.

[Vega the Chaos Mage]

Vega observed in simple silence, the motion of her blade proceeding to follow after the Sith knight's. She had to repeat the x-motion demonstrated, but after a second time she went on to vertically maneuvering the electroblade down before her chest. A nice, smooth and slow swing for the taunt, just to make sure she was doing it correctly. She'd hate to fall behind considering the teachings moved into the arts of Sun djem. Thankfully, she didn't fall behind like she dreaded. As a result she lowered her blade for the moment to watch the demonstrating of the skill being presented. Vega would have gone to mimicking the movements, but she halted in arranging her footing once the fellow Sith had his weapon forced out of his grasp. To that she stepped to the side, making sure she didn't become another statistic. But what now? Was she supposed to attack one of the fellow Sith in order to practice this motion? For the moment she didn't ask; her blade was already stretching from one shoulder to the next to double check she wouldn't hit anyone unintentionally now she re-positioned her frame. No one was electrocuted by the movements her limbs made, so Vega continued forward into jabbing her blade into the air before her chest, pretending a foe presented themselves before. One- no; two jabs later and she finished her onslaught of attacks with one final thrust, a grunt escaped scorched lips to vent off the tension. She'd have to repeat that in her own time, but for now it appeared reasonably simple.

[Froste]

Cole paid close attention as the Knight Kohler began to demonstrate. First she taught the flourish, followed by the salute. Cole took to practicing immediately after she finished showing the Acolytes. He started with the salute, then made the blade go through the x-shaped flourish in a swift motion. The Sith Acolyte had the time to go through this maneuver once more before his teacher continued on with the lesson. Marks of Contact, as she had put it. The first, Sun Djem, was made to disarm an opponent. The second, Shiak, relied on elegant footwork and accurate swordplay, as Knight Kohler had put it. Immediately after, she demonstrated the Marks of Contact she had described on another Acolyte. It did not take her long to disarm him. After her show, Cole noticed a different Acolyte practicing the maneuvers in the air, and he figured he'd do the same. He imagined a foe directly in front of him, standing in a position with his blade pointing up. Then, Cole spent a few seconds focusing on attacking the imaginary blade. Once satisfied, Cole looked back to the Sith Knight, awaiting further instruction.

The girl carried a weapon, finely wrought, elegant even though the blade appeared both sharp and deadly, honed to an edge that could likely cut cleanly through many materials. And certainly so through skin and bone. If it made contact with his flesh, Tirdarius knew well that he would spend many long days in recovery, provided it did not kill him outright. Not something I particularly intend to waste time on, however.

Sadly, the young woman had misunderstood the instruction: merely to attack was not the point. He had wished for her to wield the Force in her attempt, not simply to throw something at him, but rather to provide him with energies to offer opposition to. After all, we can all parry a weapon, or deflect it away from the softer target of our bodies, but to counteract energies directly...that is a far more difficult skill. But no matter - this would suffice for the moment, at least to demonstrate one particular technique.

He felt the energies building up around the girl, surging through her, absorbed by the pores in her skin as though might be true of the oxygen around them, gathering in strength within her core, then surging outwards to gather around her fingertips, unleashed with a wave that fired the spear in his direction, an attack designed with lethal intent, just as he had hoped. True, he could punish her for such a move, but it was common among the Sith to display strength at all moments, and if he failed to prevent his own death at her hands, it would be considered a fate well-deserved.

He gathered his own energies, feeling it surge through him like some unrestrained electrical current, setting his nerves aflame, every inch of his skin tingling with anticipatory potential, the Force preparing to obey what commands he might offer it. His hands moved, arcing before him with energy released outward, to flow around him, forming a soft shell of clear energy that could be felt more than seen. The spear moved to find its mark and intersected the point where his hands rested, fingers splayed open and palms facing towards that sharp weapon. Instead of slicing through skin, bone and sinew, a sudden flash of blue light emerged at the point where it made contact with the energy that surged around him, that shell illuminated for a moment as the blade of the spear bounced off point, energy redirected so that it did not make contact.

A long exhale emerged from his lips, and he relinquished hold of the energies that had gathered to form that soft bubble around him, dissipating and bleeding off into the environment around them, unneeded but still very much there, to be drawn upon as any of them saw fit.

"To deal with a solid weapon, you need but learn to shape the energy you draw towards yourself," he remarked cooly, his grey eyes focusing less upon the girl's spear and more upon the one that wielded it. "If you can push something away from you with a directed wave, or lift an object with a sustained grasp, so too can you learn to form a barrier that can repel other objects." He offered a slight shrug, indifferent to the idea. "You might keep yourself dry when walking in the rain, redirect the energy of an electrical field when it comes into contact with your skin, or prevent yourself from being struck by a weapon, be it blaster bolt, spear or lightsaber."

 

[Darth Ophidia]

She circled around the acolyte, her old apprentice's apprentice. It was curious to stand in her current situation. Quite frankly she had expected her first apprentice to kill her by now, much like she had tried to kill hers. Rather, he dallied around with troops and conquests like a pretend-king. Still, she could not help but smile a little at the twist of fate. Her eyes, her thoughts, her every sensory path now trained upon [member="Garivald"] with a subdued malicious intent.

Her boots made hardly a sound as she crushed the sand under her feet. The sound of her robes mingled too tightly with the wind to truly let itself be discerned. Even without the aid of the Force, this woman was difficult to spot, especially if she did not wish to be seen.

For now, she watched the student meditate, sharpen, focus. Her hands clasped behind her back as she stopped behind him. The sun behind her, she cast a shadow upon the acolyte's back. When she felt he had meditated for long enough, her voice cut through the silence and the desert winds.

"Remain seated for now. Do not open your eyes, but remain focused upon yourself. To hide, it is essential to first perceive. Reach out, feel it. Feel the wind, the sand, the pale stone. Feel the Force and reach into its darkest corners."

 

[Sinistra]

Sinistra had a love-hate relationship with Korriban. It was hot and oppressive, and her armor did not do a great job of alleviating all the discomfort of being in a desert environment. It helped, but she was still exhausted from the effort. However, the chance to surround herself with the pulsating energy of the darkside, and allowing herself to luxuriate in it was worth every drop of sweat she would perspire.

She had decided to make the detour to attend a training in the Valley of the Dark Lords, even though she was not on the training roster this time. Every once in a while, she perused the training sessions, looking for something, perhaps someone she could hone. Someone she could mold.

Fela hated that she did not train her, but then again, she had not bothered to leave Sinistra's employ either. Fela was too important to Sinistra's spywork. She had to be kept close so if she decided to betray Sinistra, she could be silenced. A stranger would be a much more fitting student and recipient of Sinistra's knowledge, and eventual legacy. She had approached the training session quietly, watching the new recruits practicing illusions, casting their tricks as best they could on new found knowledge. A couple months prior, it had been her instructing the incoming knights and acolytes on illusions. There was no shortage of skilled trainers within the One Sith for certain.

Some of the students struggled, but there was potential in all of them. She moved among them, nodding her respects to [member="Knight Mullarus"], [member="Darth Ophidia"] and [member="Tirdarius"]. She was nondescript, nothing remarkable about her, just another lord in group awash with lordship. She paused by one young acolyte, watching him cast, a curious tilt to her masked face as she watched from beneath the hood. When his practice was over, she stepped in front of [member="Taris"], her hands folded in front of her.

"You have a talent for this. I sense..." she paused, her vocoder scratching as she breathed. "Uncertainty. You doubt yourself, perhaps? Or should I say, you do not fully trust what you feel here. You want answers, and I can provide them. Do you fear the unknown? A hard day's work?"

 

[Taris]

Taris stared at [member="Darth Urak"], bewildered by his significant improvement from his first illusion to the one that currently stood before him. It was as if he was standing in front of a mirror, the details were all there. "You have a knack for greatly improving your newfound techniques, Urak. A fight against you would surely be an interesting one." Taris bowed to Urak and began to observe the acolyte adjacent to him. He repeatedly attempted the art of illusion, with no desire to give up he created a variety of different people and inanimate objects. He was persistent and attentive to his own mistakes, his qualities were that of a solider.

After observing for a short amount of time, Taris had felt an outside presence he was not familiar with during his time on Korriban. Who or whatever it was, was emitting a powerful dark energy, that similar to the sith lords. "Perhaps another master has..." Before he could finish his thought, he looked down to find a woman standing in front of him with her hands folded. She suddenly began to speak: "You have a talent for this I sense... Uncertainty. You doubt yourself, perhaps? Or should I say, you do not fully trust what you feel here. You want answers and I can provide them. Do you fear the unknown? A hard day's work...?

Taris suddenly realised this was no average sith standing before him. Her composed stature revealed she did not just want to have a friendly conversation, she wanted something from Taris and if he did not answer to her liking she would move onto the next acolyte...

He quickly retorted: "You ask many questions of me... Questions such as these were all answered the night I discovered the power of the dark side. The abrupt feeling of hatred and anguish was nothing short of a calling card to my true destiny. If you believe my destiny can be achieved through your guidance and mentorship then I see no reason to decline your offer. It is clear you are more powerful than myself as well as many others here on Korriban. I am but a mere acolyte with nothing to lose, especially when confronted with an offer such as this..." Taris then bowed. "I accept."

[Sinistra]

She chuckled to herself but through the vocoder, the sound came as a garbled chirp of distortion.

"A simple yes or no would suffice."

She looked around at the training session, seeming to think though masked and armored as she was, it was only clear that she was female or presented as one by the cut of her armor plates and curve of her body. The rest of her seemed calm and reserved, as she pondered how to proceed.

"I have no desire to further interrupt the instruction going on. When you have finished with the training here, you will meet me on Coruscant at the One Sith headquarters."

She turned sharply and headed off again on whatever business had brought her to Korriban, a parting bow of deference to [member="Knight Mullarus"], [member="Darth Ophidia"] and [member="Tirdarius"] once more. She was nothing if not proper in her demonstration of respect. Her new pupil might be a flatterer but his efforts to excel within the One Sith ranks would need more than a silvered tongue.

She trusted that if [member="Taris"] could manage to get himself to Korriban, then he could arrange passage for himself to Coruscant. It would be a test for him, one she felt no need to inform him of. If he were serious about this opportunity, he would make haste to meet her there and begin the next chapter of his training.

 

[Darth Ferus]

Fascination was all the girl had as the man pushed her spear away with seemingly no amount of energy. Was that the raw skill a Sith Lord had in passing? Could the Sith truly become this power with enough learning? She may as well have been wide eyed as she listened to the Masters knowledge. What seemed so simple to him was something Fortuna hadn't been able to do herself. @Abelain Nav'uk had broken through her barriers with ease multiple times in the past, but perhaps now she could learn how to win.

"I've done these things in the past, but I'm not sure how to control it well. Do you have any tricks, my lord?"

 

[Garivald]

As he communed with the force, he felt the air, as it entered passed his nostrils and into his body; filling his lungs. From there he followed, as it attached to his blood and made its way to his heart; traveling throughout his body. As it did this, it was quickly replaced with carbon dioxide; traveled back to his lungs and was released from him in an outward breath.

He always found it fascinating. Whenever he meditated in the force, it was like uncovering something new. Showing you just how little you truly know and understand about yourself.

"Remain seated for now. Do not open your eyes, but remain focused upon yourself. To hide, it is essential to first perceive. Reach out, feel it. Feel the wind, the sand, the pale stone. Feel the Force and reach into its darkest corners."

He was startled as the Sith Lords voice came out of nowhere. He had been so focused on himself and the force that he'd lost track of everything else. He'd never realized closing himself off from his surroundings this much every time he communed with the darkside. That was more than a little disturbing.

While trying to maintain focus on himself and the force, Garivald slowly began casting his mind outward from himself trying to do as [member="Darth Ophidia"] commanded.

Failing several times, he eventually succeeded in feeling the wind with his mind. He had been trying to do it the wrong way from the start; blindly grasping at the wind with nothing to go off of. It had taken him a while to think about using the sensations of his body to gather intel. To slowly use his body as the foundation and expand his senses with the force.

It was similar to what a fish must feel swimming in the ocean; gathering intel from every ripple and wave.

But this was so much more than that.

The wind painted a mental image in his mind, as it flowed through the air; shifting around objects as it went. The warm sand underneath him rippled and hummed oh so subtlety as the acolytes and the other Sith trained a distance away. As nearby animals moved both above and beneath the desert sands; added a ground to his mental picture. He could feel the stonework of the tomb before him, as it sucked the suns rays into itself, absorbing the heat greedily; forming a giant wall before him in his mind.

All this together created a basic image of his surroundings in his minds eye. Although it was odd... while he could feel the Sith Lords shadow against the fur on his back, he couldn't feel her presence. He hadn't even felt her through sensing the area around them.

He was beginning to see just how dangerous stealth techniques could truly be. If one could master hiding themselves from even other force-users...

Continuing as instructed, Garivald extended his mind further into the darkside of the force; while keeping focused on his outward senses. He traveled down familiar pathways, his mind walking down roads he'd walked before. Until his mind eventually reached the edge of what he'd dared to go. Before him the force moved outwards, branching off into different paths. Some felt almost... chaotic... violent in nature. Others more organized, they felt... darker somehow... As if the paths were formed from shadows somehow. These paths also emanated violence, yet more subtle in nature.

Garivald left familiar territory and began questing down one of the darker pathways of the force.

 

[Darth Ophidia]

"Do not stray too far into those shadows. Take it slow, steady."

One corner of her mouth cocked into a smile as she watched him progress. While her eyes saw his physical form, she could through the Force, see how he explored, wandered. It was good to wander, to seek the deep and dark secrets of the Force. However, those who dug too greedily would find themselves with power they could not wield. Such a person would never be Sith, but a slave.

"Now that you are aware of your surroundings, you should also feel the extent of your influence. Seek out it's borders and identify yourself within it. Amidst all that exists, find you."

Finding one's own presence in the Force was a more difficult task than one would initially imagine. When Darth Ophidia had first attempted it, she found that it was as though she tried to perceive herself from outside. But again, it was essential to know what to hide. If one could not identify oneself in ones entirety, then there would always be something bleeding out of the disguise. Such a leak could cost one's life, or worse; one's mission.

Ophidia remained standing behind [member="Garivald"], her hands clasped behind her back and fingers drummed on the balls of her palm. Her eyes strayed from the acolyte to the uncovered passage into the mountain. She could almost sense it staring back at her. The catacombs of Korriban were full of dangers, an excellent place to practice.

Zratos walked onto the training grounds in awe as his robe fluttered around him revealing some of his gray flesh and multiple red eyes.

He has been looking for a master to train him in the sith way for about 3 weeks. He had started on Dromund Kaas.

[Jayce Pryde]

Pryde had been on Korriban for nearly a month already, Honing his lightsaber skills against both K'lor slugs and the ancient Sith battle droids that somehow still roamed the halls of the tombs in the Valley of the Dark Lords. Around him now lay the rotting and decaying corpses of the beasts he had slain, Though it mattered little to him. For nearly three days now he'd been meditating in the burial chamber deep inside the tomb of the Dark Lord Nada Shadow, Drawing from the power around him, focusing his mind as he meditated. He'd come to Korriban for just that, To meditate in the tombs of the fallen Dark Lords and to draw upon their power and knowledge. So far he'd been alone on the planet as far as he knew, Aside from the various wildlife that called Korriban home, Which so far he'd had no qualms about slaughtering on site.

Whispers

No not whispers.... Echoes.

He was no longer alone on Korriban and those who were now here had come in numbers, He could feel them, Feel the taint of the Darkside upon them and this brought a sinister smile to his pale lips.

The Sith cut his meditation short and after standing to his feet and brushing the dust and dirt from his midnight black robes he'd make his way through the corridors and to the entrance leading back into the Valley of the Dark Lords, Where he'd stop momentarily and slip the dark tinted goggles back down over his eyes to protect them from the bright light of day. Once finished he would focus his mind onto the auras of those who had come to Korriban, And once he locked onto them tarentatek leather boots and the power of the force channeled through his legs would swiftly carry him across the sands in search of the newcomers.....

[Garivald]

"Now that you are aware of your surroundings, you should also feel the extent of your influence. Seek out it's borders and identify yourself within it. Amidst all that exists, find you."

Well that should be easy. All I have to do is go back to where I currently am.

Using the force, he slowly drew psyche out of the surrounding area and back inwards to his body. He already new where his body was, so finding himself was easy. Now it was time for the next task. After waiting for a moment he grew mildly confused when [member="Darth Ophidia"] didn't speak up. He'd gone back to his foundation; his body. He had done what she'd said... hadn't he?

Actually... no he hadn't. He had taken her words at face value. Now that he took a moment and considered her words... his body had little to do with it. She wanted him to perceive himself through the force. To go beyond the physical and find his very being.

Reaching out with his mind, he performed the same steps as before. After a few minutes and a couple failed attempts, he found himself perceiving his surroundings again. From there he attempted to turn his mental perception around so that he could observe himself. He quickly noticed that his psyche seemed to be on a set rotation, with him as the axis. No matter where he turned he couldn't find himself through the force.

Was he doing it wrong? Had he made to many links to his surrounding area? Did he need to remove some of the links to his foundation?

Wait... That's it. He had created links between himself and his surroundings to observe the area around himself. His perception was one way only. Maybe if he add more links and invert them somehow....

Reaching out with his mind he reversed his steps. Instead of creating more links from himself to the surrounding area; he crafted links from his surroundings towards himself. After a few failed attemps, Garivald felt a sudden shift in his perception.

He could move around more freely.

In fact... if he pulled on the reversed ropes he could twist his perception around. He could... see himself. The moment he saw himself, he felt a surge of vertigo and disorientation; giving him the strong urge to vomit.

Looking down at himself felt... wrong somehow. Every fiber of his being told him he shouldn't be able to see himself like this.

There... down below him... was his body. He had countless pulsating threads of the force coming both into and out of his body; linked to the surrounding area. And there... in the very core of himself, he saw the force. He felt the darkside emanating outward from his body.

 

[Rexus]

Rexus approaches the approved training grounds with an arrogant indifference toward most of the other trainees. He didn't hate them so much as he simply thought them beneath him. It was an arrogance gained through years of butchering sentient beings that looked like many of them, minus having a connection to the force. Held in the right hand is a k'lor'slug of similar size to Rexus himself. The beast was clearly dead and interestingly enough, it's devoid of weapon wounds. This particular victim was throttled and beaten, it's chitinous hide punched or broken in while several of it's leg like appendages appear to be broken off. It's killer is no better off as the rather large sentient dragging it appears to be cut or bit in several places. Standing in at over seven feet in height, It's not entirely absurd for such a beast to be leisurely dragged behind it's killer. Having recently come off a rage induced "high" from slaughtering the beast, Rexus was now slowly beginning to feel the resurgence of the pain he was oh so fond of these days.



Looking at the slug brought back the fresh memories of the hunt that took it's life. Rexus had decided he needed a trophy to present to the mighty Sith lords present. As his blade was broken earlier, he had no choice but to use his hands and feet. He had fought beasts before with his hands and it was wholly different from fighting anything with a weapon. He rather enjoyed the prospect back in the day though those days were long gone. All Rexus had left was his anger and that, he felt, would be enough to empower him to victory. The battle was over quicker than he expected. It moved with an incredibly speed and ferocity that astounded him. A bite to the arm could have turned out bad had Rexus not interfered at the last possible moment. The pain he felt made him angry, forced him into a violent fury that saw him attack the beast without pause. In the end, he stood the victor though his armor was now rent and beyond useless.

Coming to a gradual stop, Rexus surveys the scene. Force training was underway for several whilst duels and saber training were being held for others. Curiously, many if not all of the participants had lightsabers or something of the sort. All of it brought a sense of envy to Rexus who, as of now, had no mentor and no lightsaber to call his own. Perhaps he had to offer the Sith tribute which was why he brought the defeated beast to this location. Rexus would, with a bit of effort, heft the carcass out in front of him and let it sit there. Rexus would then kneel, his breathing somewhat labored due to the respirator permanently affixed to him. Only time would tell if Rexus offended or pleased the Sith.

Zratos watched the man drag the k'lor slug and bent his head down in shame as he had not brought a tribute for the sith. He began wandering around looking for a sith lord for training. His several red eyes gliding over the trainees as he twitched slightly giving him a somewhat insane look to him.

 

[Darth Ophidia]

Misdirection, that had indeed been an element in her instructions. The Force was not something one could learn to wield by simple instruction; it needed to be discovered within oneself. An Acolyte who only took instructions on face-value would never truly master the Force, but become consumed by the most basic powers it granted.
