With aliens I usually do face first and then work out the character. Though to be fair I never really know who they are until I've RPed them some.

I have enough human alts so I went in a totally different direction, NFU Alien. Mystique from X-Men was a great fit for playing a Pantoran so there we have it.

I'm legally blind, what is a playby?

Playbys are complicated for me. It takes a while to find the right one. After creating a character, I already have a picture in my head as to what they are supposed to look like. I accidentally happened upon Anesia's after using a couple others that were close, but not quite her. So, I suppose I choose based on a description already made? I'm not the sort to pick a picture and then make a character from it.

I get a feel for my characters when I'm writing their bios, then I search google for images that fit the mental picture I have for them.
