Dreidi sighed, it seemed that this was one of those 'lets make a plan and be sensible about this' types of Jedi. Who had time for a plan? Why did they need a plan when it was just bandits?! If they couldn't take on some local bandits then Dreidi figured they might as well quit as Jedi now. "Look, right now we have the element of surprise. The longer we wait and try to figure things out, the more at risk we are of being discovered to waiting too long and them attacking the village again. Better to get in and strike hard now. Nahhh, I'm betting we kill the leader the whole group crumbles especially facing Jedi."

"Anyway, where's your sense of adventure? You gotta take risks sometimes, be bold and prove yourself worthy as a Jedi and ready to be a Knight." Whether that was true or not, Dreidi didn't know but it was a lifestyle she had picked. Hopping off the bike, she looked at the wall, giving a slight pause before focusing on her Magick and letting it flow around her. A small incantation under her breath and she vanished, only leaving smoky trails of green mist behind for Iris to see.

All Dreidi saw was the camp now, it was seemingly well organised and there looked to be a fair number of guys. Just gotta find the one in charge, though she waited to see if Iris would join her.

"That's the only thing we have. You want to risk the lives of all those people on something you don't know for fact?" No, this was wrong. She reached out, trying to stop Dreidi from just charging in, only to watch the girl disappear from sight. Magic? She cussed, straight up, before ducking low and rushing after. At least her time on Denon taught her how to better stick to the shadows and sneak in.

The moment she saw Dreidi she practically rushed to her side. Hissed under her breath.

"You're going to get people killed."

Dreidi was counting number of bandits that she could see wandering around the camp as she hid. Feeling Iris approaching, Dreidi turned to face the other Padawan with a look of glee on her face, it was great that she was following Dreidi on this plan. Then she frowned, seemed that Iris had not been convinced to go along with her. "Look, no matter what, you are always risking people's lives. We try to minimise that yes, but can we prevent it, no. We're in the camp, I was counting bandits, got to about 10 or so, and that's totally fine. We can handle 10 bandits!"

Nudging Iris, Dreidi pointed out another hide spot not too far away. "I'll get over there and might be able to get a different view and see if I can identify the leader." She looked over to the other spot, she couldn't teleport again, it took too much energy to do it frequently like that yet but she was certain she could dart over quickly. Darting to the new spot, Dreidi smirked over to Iris and looked from the new angle, spotting a couple more bandits.

Ten?

Yeah, ten wasn't too much, but it didn't excuse what she was doing! Jedi were supposed to protect the innocent first and foremost. And yet there she went. All Iris had was a disapproving frown to Dreidi's smirk. This wasn't how Jedi were supposed to act! <Fine. Fine! But we're doing this my way. We take out everyone, nonlethaly as possible.> Jedi weren't murderers.

And unless they figured out who else these thugs might be talking to, there was no guarantee that the village would be safe. With a grumble she closed her eyes and felt out towards the colors around them. Scanning for the people. All of them. Ten.. Eleven.

<Twelve. Two patrolling. You take them out. I'll find a communication relay to shut down.>

That'd be important, if they were going to protect the people at least. Her gaze shifted, scanning through the camp for the aforementioned communicator. Sure enough, she saw it. Fine. Alright. They could do this. Hopefully clean enough that no one would get hurt.

Protecting the innocent was always something that could be taken liberally, if not then Jedi should never go to war, they should never fight because there was always a risk of innocent lives being harmed. No, to save the many, you had to be aggressive and fight. That was where Dreidi lived, she would be the sword where others would be a shield. When Iris insisted that they killed non-lethally Dreidi rolled her eyes, these people were not good guys, they weren't forced into duty. Killing them would be better if Iris was concerned about saving lives but she shook her head and decided to go along. At least Iris was going along with her plan.

Shifting into position, Dreidi waited till the guard was isolated and jumped on them. Choking the guy best she could, hand over the mouth so his calls were muffled. It was messy, long and tricky since Dreidi had no weight advantages in this takedown. Grunting deeply, Dreidi looked over to Iris and sighed, gesturing that nonlethally was not going to be easy. Panting slightly, she dragged the unconscious bandit to a covered area. Looking around, she tried to spot the next bandit.

Gripping a plank of wood, Dreidi waited for the next chance. This time attempting to whack the bandit as hard as she could with the plank to knock them out. Praying that Iris is sorting things out.

Did she just-

Iris stared in disbelief as Dreidi used a plank of wood of all things to try and knock a guy out. Did she not have some way to not kill people and just incapacitate? She thought- Oh Force this was all just falling apart. She turned, bringing out her pink blade to just cut right through the relay. No, no. This was now just too dangerous. Her second blade came out shortly after, the blue blade silent as she passed it through one of the thugs that turned in surprise to see her.

"Jedi!"

So much for quiet. Iris flicked both her blades around as blaster fire erupted forth. She narrowed her eyes, flicking her blades around to bat the shots away and slip closer to the next. Her pink saber came up, carving the blaster in half before the blue knocked him out cold. "Don't let any leave!"

Dreidi's attempts at stealth were likely unorthodox but they were working and she was used to sneaking around. She had to learn how to be sneaky when she was a child if she wanted freshly baked cookies her father made. Hearing a guard call out Jedi and seeing that Iris got spotted, Dreidi sighed and ignited her own Lightsaber. "You know, this is your fault, right? I was doing the sneaky like you wanted then you got caught! If we started loud, we might have drawn the boss man out by now." Dreidi pointed out, sneaky was a decent option but it was slow in Dreidi's mind and she wanted to sort this issue out quickly.

When Iris told her to not let any guards escape, Dreidi focused on sending blaster bolts back, aiming to hit the bandits in the lower back or in the legs because she figured that Iris would still not want Dreidi to kill them. Though it would be a lot easier and it wasn't as if these bandits were good people, they were raiders and murderers. Death was appropriate punishment for them in Dreidi's mind.

Looking around for some fire, Dreidi called out to Iris, "if you spot any campfire or something let me know. Can use that to do some Magick." Dreidi wasn't able to conjure flames from nothing but she was getting better at using the fire around her.

Iris_Sig.png

"You teleported in without a plan! Literally just to murder!" Yeah that was a bit much for Iris not to bite back at. Her blue saber cut through another harmlessly, leaving them unconscious on the ground. She hated how much easier it would be just to kill them all, though. She knew it would be. Hate probably wasn't the right word, but her mind was racing a mile a minute.

A speeder started close by. She blinked, but didn't hesitate to turn and chuck her blink blade. It cleaved right through the front of the speeder. But it nicked something important, cause it blew right up.

Iris hissed as her blue saber absorbed another shot. Called back the pink in her off hand.

"Fine! There's a fire for you!"

Dreidi rolled her eyes hard, "I wouldn't have murdered them all, I would have maimed most of them. Only wanted to kill the leader. And not exactly murder when it would have been in the defence of the village, was justifiable!" Dreidi growled, it wasn't just the easier path that Dreidi was thinking about. Killing them would also prevent them from doing this again, from reorganising and ruining another village's life. It was how some Jedi saw the Sith, it was how the Ascendancy saw the Khanate and it was how Dreidi saw this situation.

The explosion was perfect and Dreidi started her incantations as she continued to deflect bolts and disabling fleeing bandits. The flames didn't seem to change at first but they started to extend and move in an unnatural way, Dreidi guided the flames to start setting tents on fire and destroying supplies that the bandits had. "This should draw the boss guy out!" Dreidi cheered as she continued to weave the fire around the camp as if it was a ribbon.

"Got any other plans you wanna try?!"

Iris_Sig.png

Draw the boss guy out. Maybe. Honestly she doubted that. If a couple Jedi assaulted her camp, she'd hop in a speeder and bug right out. Her eyes narrowed at that thought. She swiped her blade around, knocking out another around her. And silence. Just silence. Too much silence. She gritted her teeth as she turned her gaze around, trying to find sight of this leader. had they already dealt with them, then?

"Do you sense anyone?"

Her eyes shifted back from the pure white that they had been back to their original colour as the incantation of the fire ended. Leaving the camp afire and blazing in a way that none had thought was natural. Dreidi looked back over to Iris and heard her asking about sensing anyone, cocking an eyebrow puzzled, "yeah... Sensing lots of people... Oh wait, you are meaning the leader?"

Looking around, Dreidi tried to figure out where the leader of this camp might be. There had to be one right? As she looked, she noticed a speeder bike that hadn't been blown up and someone jumping on, that had to be the guy. Before Dreidi could conjure the flames to incinerate him, he blasted past on the speeder bike towards Iris. "Stop him! That's gotta be our guy!" Dreidi shouted out.

Iris_Sig.png

Iris's sabers extinguished the moment Dreidi spoke out. Both hands raised as she reached out in the Force. Strain was clear on her face, but only for a moment. Then the speeder froze where it was, nearly throwing it's pilot clear off. She kept focus on the grip, pulling back with all her might to keep them from leaving. If they left, the people in the village would be in danger.

So much danger. Iris wasn't going to allow that.

Iris reacted quickly to Dreidi's call out and Dreidi was relieved to see that, it would have been terrible if Dreidi had warned too late or Iris decided to ignore Dreidi because they had differing views on how to approach the whole matter. Walking over the sprawled guy after he fell off the speeder bike, Dreidi swiftly flicked her Lightsaber and beheaded the bandit. Holding it up, Dreidi threw the head into the middle of the camp so that all could see what she had done.

"Two Jedi came into your camp, dealt with you all easily, burnt the camp down and destroyed all your vehicles. Even killing your leader. So, give up, drop your weapons and stop terrorising the locals around here! Work together, find a way to support one another, not cause harm!" Dreidi shouted out, she was panting, it had been a decent amount of work to avoid getting hit and using Magick to set the camp on fight. But she did all this chaos, destruction and killing to end the fight because she had seen all too often killing the will to fight can find balance a lot faster than allowing enemies to go free unscathed.

Looking over to Iris, "said that this could work." Smirking as if everything had gone smoothly and according to some plan she had had.

Iris_Sig.png

Iris just stared in disbelief as Dreidi so casually threw a head into the group. A head. Someone's head. Everything the girl said was.. It made no sense. That was fear she was preaching. Horror. That was the only expression she had for the young Witch. Horror that stilled to a grim determination. The colors around them, the surviving bandits, they were full of fear. Who wouldn't be?

"We're leaving."

They needed to get back. Get ready for the inevitable retaliation.

Iris was stating that they were leaving but Dreidi didn't move, she looked around there was a harshness in her eyes but a determination in them as well. This was ending here, now, she was not going to wait around for retaliation. No, this fight ended because the two of them out matched this camp. "No, we don't leave till they surrender. Till they agree to give this raiding lifestyle up for good. We demonstrated to be the better fighters and now they need to accept this goes no further." Dreidi was firm in her words, but she did not stand ready to fight, she held the energy of someone wanting the fight over. Slinking away would not end it, not in her mind, they were in a position of strength, they should use that to ensure the village was safe for good.

"We walk away now, cycle never ends. We stand here, put our foot down and work as a group to figure out peace, then it never has to happen again."

Iris_Sig.png

"Jedi are not murderers. I will have no more part in this.. Cruelty. Fearmongering." It was not the Jedi way. Her gaze shifted to the survivors. They'd already given up the fight. Given up on running, given Iris had shown she could stop not just one speeder, but two. It sickened her stomach to think she'd brought such fear to others. It sickened her just to watch the greying of colors around them.

Even if they agreed, surrendered, their rage wasn't going to fade.

"If you wanted peace, you should never have chosen violence."

Dreidi rolled her eyes, Iris was not understanding the stance that Dreidi was taking, she wasn't looking to fearmonger, she was looking for a way to get these raiders to change and work with the village. "Jedi aren't murderers? No, they aren't, but they kill those that stand in the way of peace. Think your Master has never killed? Think any Jedi Master has never killed? We fight to maintain peace, to keep others safe, that involves killing because some enemies don't stop. Won't stop. And now, these people have a chance to show that they are willing to change, to work with the village to keep them safe."

She extinguished all the flames in the camp with her Magick. "Peace is gained through violence. Think this war you take part in is not going to achieve peace? Because it is damn violent and hurting plenty of innocent lives but you are happy to take part in that and fight. This was no different. I fought to ensure that the village was safe." Dreidi glared at Iris, the hypocrisy was infuriating, happy to take part in a war but unhappy to get dirty in smaller issues, it was wrong.

Iris_Sig.png

"There's a difference between taking a life to defend others and cutting a man's head off to throw around like some trophy! I don't know who taught you or if you're just pretending, but you fail as a Jedi. Go home. Either the people here are going to leave, or they're going to come back and take revenge. Either way, I need to get back to the village." She didn't wait. Iris went right to the speeder she halted before to mount up and just, go.

She couldn't stay here any longer.

"You have no right to judge me Iris! So don't you dare say that my beliefs, my teacher, my actions are not Jedi. I am ending the conflict here, MY way, if you don't like it then leave but till I got here you were doing nothing but letting these raiders bleed that village slowly. I stopped them, I saved that village by being aggressive, by being proactive because sitting around and waiting for a miracle to happen gets people killed!" Dreidi shouted out, she was hurt, she was pissed and she wasn't going to stand around and let someone accuse her failing. "I took that man's life, to save that village. It is the same thing!" Dreidi shouted into the dust as Iris took off on the speeder.

There was no fear in Dreidi's eyes as she was still in a camp with a number of raiders, she was here to figure out a way that these guys could earn money legally and being productive members of society even if Iris only believed in two options, Dreidi knew there was a third.
