How to Glowstick (101 Lightsaber Class)

I'm considering throwing up a basic training class for the New Jedi Order. As well, i'm inviting The Kathol Outback, to promote some cros-faction fun. This won't start at earliest until a next Friday, if not later. I'd also welcome 1-2 other experienced saber combatants to help GM if we get enough folks.

This will be on Socorro, a non mapped canon planet (please leave it off the map) around former Techno Union space. Julius has a reforming training center on the grounds of the Old Jedi Guardian Academy/Temple there, and it will be technically neutral ground - though out of respect for our allies in the NJO I will ask no obvious Dark Siders attend. If you do, you're subject to the possibility Julius will let the GA arrest you for essentially poking the bear.

The first 'seminar' will be just a basic good all around form like Form V, and then maybe some Form I/Shii'cho for the brand new folks. Some 'Art of Movement' lessons will be given out, and there will be plenty of training remotes and lightsaber droids as well as live bodies to practice against. If there is a Master or two interested, you are more than welcome, and Julius can get you a good duel out of this or teach you something else he knows you can use (check his bio) that is saber related.

Prizes will be made and given out on parameters to be announced when the thread goes live, and i'm limiting it to a maximum of 5 writers per Faction group(not counting any GM types), just to keep it from getting stupidly bogged down. We will start when we get two per side, and can let others be late arrivals or whatever.

Sign ups for TKO will be posted in this top post, mention me and let me know your experience level so I can plan advanced things if need be.

Runi Verin

Two pounds shy of a bomb.

Runi isn't really the saberjockey type, nor likely become one anytime soon, but picking up a few tricks here and there certainly couldn't hurt.

I'll put her name down if you'll have her - although I'm fine with bowing out if someone has a more pressing need.

I'd be happy to help/participate.

SJ's a Soresu/Niman practitioner. I tend to think of him as a MMO tank. He's good at holding the line, but does very little offensive work.

[member="Sor-Jan Xantha"] - More instructors are most welcome. Sarge signed up for such on the GA side, so we are progressing excellently here. Be interesting to pit the Speedster here against you some day...

[member="Bryce Bantam"] - Yup. Both. Julius is the Lightsaber savant. But he will be favoring Djem'so so it works for you!!!!

[member="Matthew Robinson"] - We can teach you some basic NJO styles. I find those work best for those slightly less combat inclined, unless you have a style in mind

As a note, Julius will be watching attendees for a potential apprentice. So if you're a fighter, this is a good way to prove yourself for a more in depth tutelage.

[member="Matthew Robinson"] - I'll dig through what I know, send you a PM and see if you like the idea. Framework can be laid here, and i'll teach you privately if you want to learn more. I've got an idea based on NJO 'Medium' Style and how I was taught self-defense in EMS.

[member="Matthew Robinson"] - I'm offering to teach you basics in group, and THEN an individual thread if you need or want it. Since, y'know..... I use you guys a lot...

[member="Kimiko"] - That's cool. But, if enough people sign up I may ask you to sit this time out so we dont clutter the thread if you're not going to train as well. Hope you don't mind that.

[member="Julius Sedaire"], being an admin, I would rather sit out than @Kimiko. She is newer and I would feel like a heel if I helped hold her dev back. If she wants my spot I would like to relinquish it.

[member="Bryce Bantam"] - I like the gusto kid, but this thread is for a purpose. If it's low on people, she's fine. But if she doesn't want to actively train, it's not a matter of open spots. We're almost full here, and half full on GA... GMing for 10 people, even with help, is difficult. I'd just be worried there won't be a lot of interaction for her, or that she will derail things or not be paid proper attention (derailing sounds too negative)
