Hunting for Destiny

"Hunting people? Well that is a considerable portion of my day to day, though on a much more regular occurance, it isn't to take things. Rather, I have a... drive I guess you could say, to right wrongs. A friend of mine says I'm like a Superhero. Plus I run Merr-Sonn, Incorporated, which is crazy." Valashu said, pausing, "But I guess it leads me to finding nifty new things. Such as, during a recent excursion I found a trio of ancient Battlestations, Bavos Two, Military Platforms to be exact.

"It took a few months effort to tow them to Val'hala, then to repair them, and attempt modernization. But now my favorite planet has Shielding, and Defenses, when it didn't less than two years ago." Returning to his moderate pace he said, in regards to her first comment, "Well I could make a promise to always be nice, and try to give them what they want." He grinned at that.

Harley giggled at Val's reply. Running a business? Hmm. She thought of what that might be like.
"Busy, busy, busy! What's that like, running a company? I heard that the owner of that place was named Zaiden?"

Over the recent years of her life while she had traveled around a little bit, she was sure she had heard of Merr - Sonn, though she was also sure that its name had been changed from something else.

"But promises are no fun! How about you take me out sometime, have some real fun?" Harley giggled again. She was feeling giddy, with a bit of adrenaline setting in. She hoped he would say yes, but she wasn't sure, if he would, where he would take her or what they would do.

Valashu grinned over his shoulder, "I can do that without anything in return. A beautiful lady at my side? Always fun to show off, eh?" At that he readied his bow, and then dragged an arrow from his quiver. Placing a foam tip around the shaft, he slid it into place beneath the head before reapplying the feathered end. Pausing he tapped the arrowhead to his chin thoughtfully, but then realized he was endangering them.

With a grin he lowered it but spun around to face his companion, his smile once more in place, "Say, I have a knack for knowing other stealthy beings, why don't you admit youre a Polidroxol. Then you can shapeshift to one of the dead guys and trick those ones up ahead. Sound good?" He asked with an arched brow.

If she could he wouldn't need to use another arrow losing maneuver like the foam, which upon a jarring contact, exploded outward in a foam substance that solidified at contact with oxygen rich air. A few inches of the substance could be broken with decent strength, but with the expanding event, it encased opponents swift, and became to dense to break. A few inches versus several feet worth? A notable difference.

As mentioned, such a problem would make getting the arrow improbable.

Harley got a mischievious glint in her eye, giggled, then replied." How'd ya know, hun?" Winking, she began to take on the form of one of the guards she had killed- the one that had tried to kill her.

Speaking in the man's voice, she looked up at Val. "So when we get done here, I expect a nite on the town!" At that, she gave a quick laugh and began walking toward the encampment.

Matreya smiled at the beautiful woman, "Stealth, its what I do, what I live for." When she changed to the man, Val had to laugh at her baritone comment of a promised date. Many would find it terribly uncomfortable to at point see a woman, and make sucb a deal, but then see her change before their eyes to a large burrly man. But Val knew Harley was a woman at heart, as why else would her common form be one? He judged never on the sexual orientation if a person.

"Alright. I'll see ya soon enough." He said when she began to walk toward the group ahead of them. At the last moment though he offered a tug at the back her leg to stop her, using the Force to do so alongside summoning a discarded rifle from a distance behind them. Throwing it at her he winked, then with a whispered shout he added, "Gotta look the part!"

At that he vanished from sight, following silently behind the woman slash man. It was obvious as he neared her six, that she was always a woman, in spite of shape or size, even sex. Her walk was more of a sensual saunter, and her motions seemed all the more feminine in this form, as they were uncommon. He had to stifle another laugh at this thought.

With her body blocking his vision, he pressed the button on his mask to alter his HUD display. Seeing through the large body now, he easily could take in the seven or eight bodies ahead, thanks to the variations in heat.

As she approached the group of guards that stood outside of the encampment, Harley tried to make sure her body movements were more masculine. She often needed to do this in the form of a man, though she very infrequently was. When she shifted her appearance, she naturally preferred that of a woman.

Be cool, act natura, Harley told herself. When she had finally reached the group, she quickly wondered where Valashu was. "All clear around the camp, as far as I can see. Though I'm hoping for some action soon. Getting kinda boring around here, isn't it?"

In reply, a large young man who had a bushy red spoke. "Yeah, I agree! You know how I love some good action!" He grinned wide, with a happy look in his eye. Harley could tell that this man indeed enjoyed a good battle. Looking at the man to his left, a man with little hair and a slightly smaller build, he continued to speak." Hey, Thad, you remember that fight we won a few weeks ago?! Talk about easy. Hardly could even call it a fight!"

The smaller man, Thad, looked up at his taller friend as he began to speak. " I sure do, Alten. Almost too easy. Then again, we caught them off guard. Rather stupid of them to have been unarmed, though." As he spoke, Harley noticed that he looked almost guilty, feeling bad for whoever they had beaten.

As she spoke to the group, Valashu angled himself slowly around them. Mg surprised him some times how little speed had to do with his actions, as he frequently moved with an arduous pace. Some would call it ridiculous, but these people simply didn't do what he did. Bounty Hunters could potentially understand closest, but all in all, it was was a Jensaarai-Ka style.

When he was firmly behind one of the men, he exhaled, then drew a hand upward. At the last moment, he concentrated, channeling the energy bound to his Archer Suit, then lifted his right arm. When his energy was practically peaked, he flipped a wrist, snapping the necks of all the men present.

"That was why I needed you," Valashu began, as he appeared before Harley once more, "If they were tight, and in a battle position, their bodies would have been more rigid. This way I could save some of the energy in my suit." Then a jerk of the thumb over his shoulder started his next sentance, "That should be all of the posted guards. I don't know how many more or are inside the camp, but I didn't see more than these sets of prints when I was first tracking them.

"So how do you think we should proceed?"

(Whoops. For the judges that read this, please pretend I wasn't stupid and posted as the wrong char :))

As Harley thought of what their next move would be, she shifted back into her natural, most comfortable shape - a blonde haired, blue eyed young woman. Though shape shifting abilities definitely came in handy, she loved being small and agile. Her movements were almost feline at times, and she could do a lot of physical damage if needed.

" I think we should go in together, take care of any visible guards, then we can split. You take half, I'll take half. We should meet somewhere when we finish, though. Then we can loot the place, take whatever looks useful, and get on with our... business. Sound like a plan?"

As she spoke, Harley again reached into her pocket for a cigarette. At times like this, when she was giddy or nervous, she would often chain smoke. It gave her something to focus on, while her mind tried to run a million miles an hour.

"Sorry, just need a minute here, then I'll be good to go!" Harley wasn't just feeling this way about the battle, she realized when she looked up at Val to apologize. She hoped he didn't notice." You can smoke too if you feel like, of course." She hoped he couldn't see the nerves in her eyes.

What was wrong with her?!

"Well your already aware, any gauntlets are mine to examine first. For the chance that it might be theone I am looking for. Other than that, the up front and personal approach sounds good, but I meant what beside that?" Valashu asked with an arched brow, "There are multiple tactics: for example, we could approach from the side, both, as a unit, until we meet in the center, or we could approach simultaneously as a unit. There are other examples, but simply approaching is a basic one.

"Not fo say that is that is a bad idea." Valashu stated, "Just that it is a bit expected....then again you and I are not expectable people. So you make the choice and we can go from there." He said then drew forth a cigarette and lit it, inhaling long and slow, he held the breath while staring at the woman.

"Well, honey, I'll leave it up to you. However, I do think we should split - cover more ground that way, ya know?" As Harley got herself under control, she gained a little confidence and became a little bit more comfortable.

"But I think the decision should be made pretty quick. Don't need any more guards or anyone else coming out to interrupt our chat." Harley grinned up at Val, again thinking of.. Well, him. It had been such a long time since she had been with someone, and even longer since she had been with a man.

Harley felt comfortable around Val though, and she had high hopes that it was a mutual feeling. Soon enough, she told herself, she would find out. After they took care of their business with the encampment that held their current enemies.

Valashu nodded, twinkling pointer and middle finger in a gesture of 'see ya in a bit'. Turning on his heel the Kensûrai Archer walked in the opposite direction of the woman. Instead of concentration being put into his Force Cloak, Val simply activated the Cloak built into his belt, then the No-Show as well. From here on he wanted to be focusing on the plan ahead.

Eyeing the encampment as he walked, the man began to piece together likely locations that the Gauntlet could be. In the center, over the tops of the many tents could be seen a trio of much larger styles, with what appeared to be the biggest gatherings of men. These seemed not to be on guard, yet there as such anyway. Probable thoughts led to them believing their patrols would be enough. Which they had not been.

Taking another hit from his cigarette, he nodded to himself, "Yup." Then he flicked the half finished cancer stick before changing trajectory. Passing silently, thanks not just to his skills as an assassin, but mostly to the output of silencing tech brought by his No-Show, the man soon enough found that he was nearing the largest crafted home. At the entrance he began to gather energy from the Force, before a wave of the hand conjured a large draft of wind that could be interpreted as normal air pressure. This allowed the entrance flap to move enough for him to duck inside.

Waiting for his eyes to adjust to the low light of the inside, he then looked around quickly. To the outlining of the inside his eyes finally landed, taking in dozens of boxes and chests. Why they were there seemed obvious, it was the loot of several thieving runs. Closing the distance, Valashu noticed from the corner of his eye that the men nearest the chests were all speaking to each other, thus likely wouldn't notice immediately if he went through each of the containers.

Popping the first one open, he stared down at priceless gems and artifacts of rarity. It was a difficult choice to close this chest and not take what he could. Not that stealing was a known pass time of his, but rather that the objects were probably missed from wherever they had been taken. The next chest hold plenty of the same, though not of the same caliber.

At the last chest, he opened it to discover ancient gear that he couldn't place. An energy whispered to his senses, telling that these all were powerful, but he ignored it, for there atop the mounds sat a gauntlet of flawless design. Reaching inward, he drew it free then stepped back. Sliding onto his right arm, over the leather of his Archer Suit, Valashu immediately was sure this was what he sought.

By no means was he flooded with extra power, nor did some prophetic vision tell him this was it. Rather he suddenly came to understand that his abilities could be honed far better with it than otherwise. This in and of itself told him that yes it was the Gauntlet of Crassus.

Turning around on his heel, Valashu raised the covered hand, concentrated and with what felt like no energy - compared to the normal amount required - he snapped every neck in the tent with a telepathic jerk. Satisfied that the tool made tk easier to manipulate, he immediately stepped for the door. Pausing though, he remembered Harley sought something as well. Glancing around, as he had not seen anything within the chests, he noticed one fallen warrior bore an olden amulet around his neck. Calling to the chained item, he knew it was what she sought as well, for when it drew nearer, he noticed that he could feel nothing of it through the Force.

However at the last moment, just before exiting the tent, Valashu slowly brought his eyes back around behind him. It took centuries it felt, before his eyes fell onto an ancient looking staff that was bent, mishapped, and emanated a pull toward him. This in itself was the oddest thing he had ever felt, as he didn't have the gift of prophecy or Far Sight... He took this as well, not noticing the slight laughter emanating from nowhere yet everywhere.

With it in hand, the man made haste to find Harley, to which when he did, he encompassed her in his No-Show bubble, all the while conjuring a Force Cloak about her, "Let's leave the rest alone. I feel like I might want to return some time and gather the rest of their stolen goods. If we kill them all now, I will have to do so now. And to be honest, I'm lazy." At the end of the comment, he began to walk from the area.
