That's right, there are two holocrons - one has Je'gan's spirit, and Tahira owns that; the other has an imprint of his spirit (a gatekeeper), and Darron owns that. Also, nobody but Tahira knows whether Je'gan is dead or just disappeared. (Spoilers, he's dead.)
