I am your Mother!

It was time. Finally, after the long wait that least her entire life Morgana Forceborn was finally going to meet her mother. Apparently the time was more decided by her than anyone else. Even her aunt [member="Taeli Raaf"] who had been the closest thing to family, and currently flying her towards her mother and home, had only agreed that now was the right time for them to finally meet. As anxious as she was Morgana was obvioulsy worried. She'd only heard vauge stories about her mother from Taeli, mainly because her aunt felt it was best she know her for herself. She only knew she was someone of great importance on the planet known as Effekt. Even Morgana did not know about it but it had been made clear the plaet itself was barley a recent discovery and that relations were slower than most to be open to the rest of the galaxy. Still the idea of her mother being some important figure was enough to make her guess one thing after the other. The most she'd come to was that she may have been something like a senator or important offical.
As the shuttle continued to fly towards Effekt in hyperspace Morgana was trying to relax but, obviously, was more ervous than anything. She'd been dressed in her usual attire but everything seemed more pressed and neat. She wanted to look good for her first impressions with her mother; especially since she had a lot of questions to ask. Her knee bounced. her hands kept gripping the rim of her skirt. She was biting her lip and trying to think of anything else to take her mind off things. Nothing was working. She was a bundle of nerves and the Force resounded off her the whole time.
There were time she wanted to ask Taeli something or other about her mother but she always stopped herself, unsure of wanting the answer. The entire trip had been like that. It even came to where Morgana was fiddling with her new and offical lightsaber hilt, a saberstaff design, if only to try and calm her more.

[member="Morgana Forceborn"]

"You know I think there was a Padawan on the other side of the galaxy that didn't pick up your nervousness," Taeli said, smiling a little from the controls of her Sicarius infiltrator as she teased her niece. The time had finally come for Morgana to meet Nimue and Taeli wasn't exactly sure how this meeting was going to go. She had sent a message ahead to her friend that Morgana and her were coming to finally see her.

Dressed in a light blue dress with a white belt, she didn't look like a Jedi currently, but a lilac overrobe with the Jedi Order's insignia in a deeper blue was draped over her chair. Her attire was certainly different than when Nimue had seen her last.

"Relax, Morgana, or if you can't do that, I could put the ship on autopilot and teach you something?" she suggested.

When [member="Taeli Raaf"] finally spoke, teasing her, Morgana sighed a smile while still fiddling with her saberstaff. "Sorry. I'm just.... You think she'll like me? I mean...what I've become?" It was a question she was asking while avoiding a bigger one. The one that really troubled her. Was her mother a kind person? She was afraid to ask for a number of reasons, not the leadt of which being the wrong answer. When her aunt had offered it she sighed before taking a few breaths. She turned her seat to fully face her in order to see whatever it was she was willing to teach her.

[member="Morgana Forceborn"]

"I think, for her, she will love you no matter what you are," Taeli replied, setting the autopilot. "She didn't ask me to take you to the Jedi because she was afraid of the woman you'd grow up to be. I think she wanted you to have a better life and childhood than she did and does."

Moving on from the topic that Nimue should probably address herself, Taeli pondered what she could teach Morgana while they were in this ship. Nothing involving the lightsaber, at least this time. Oh, she had just the thing. Pulling a small glowrod from her satchel that was sitting next to her chair, she lit it and placed it in Morgana's hands.

"This isn't a normal technique that most Jedi learn," Taeli said with a smile. "It can be useful though, and I learned it . . . back when I was a Sith. So what I want you to do is reach out with the Force and try and get the molecules in the glowrod to slow down, to stop producing as much energy. Watch."

Reaching with the Force, Taeli began slowing down the molecules on the glowrod until ice started to appear along the edges. She quickly stopped the influence she was doing and the ice disappeared.

"See?"

Morgana sighed, unsure of what to make about the comment of her having a better life than her mother. Whatever sort of life she had it must've been dark. That made her worry about the bigger question she had. At least, for this once, [member="Taeli Raaf"] managed to take her mind off things by showing her a new ability. Morgana gave a weary eye when she said it was something she learned as a Sith. She watched her turn the glow stick into something of pure ice, gasping a bit. The way she desribed it, however, was familir to her. One of her teachers, Mak Manto, had taught her the ability of Malacia. Though it did not involve going so far as to turn things to ice. Eager to try and learn herself Morgana took another glow rod and, trying to focus attempted the same feeling. Reaching out with the Force down to the molecular level of the glow rod while trying to slow them down.
As she did she asked "Did you teach anyone else how to do this?"

[member="Morgana Forceborn"]

"My first apprentice, a girl known as Sophie Gustav," Taeli sighed. "She was my first Sith apprentice . . . but I think maybe I shouldn't have taught her what I did sometimes. She went down a very dark path once she became a Sith Knight, a very dark path that I warned her against going on. When I was a Sith, I always taught that one needed to control their emotions, not let them control you. Letting your emotions rule you eventually drive you down the path most Sith take, with the whole corruption and insanity things."

Looking at the glowrod again, Taeli sighed.

"We didn't part on good terms, actually had a fight and I was forced to subdue her," Taeli said. "She's probably off trying to delve into even darker secrets to try and find power to kill me and everyone I love. Darth Raven is her name now."

As [member="Taeli Raaf"] told her story Morgana had started to work down to the level needed to stop every action and reaction from the glowrod. As it began to grow cold in her hand she looked up to her aunt as she sighed. Obviously whoever this girl, Sophie or Darth Raven or whatever she called herself, it seemed something of a burden to her. The talk of letting emotions controling someone had also perked in her as well, as in truth that was what she was suffering right now. But perhaps not the same emotions that would lead down the dark path as Taeli had described it. She looked back and the glowrod was now solid ice. Morgana smiled at her success before putting it down and looking to her aunt.
"If she tries anything, we'll both be ready." she said confidently before they both exited hyperspace.
Her mouth hung in suprise as they'd finally reached it. Effekt. Even from space it seemed a beautiful if almost cold sort of world. It was one step closer to finally meeting whoever her mother was.

[member="Morgana Forceborn"]

"She won't try anything yet," Taeli replied as they dropped out of hyperspace into Effekt space. Not much had changed since she had last been here, although she really needed to get Aurora established here. Her schedule should be opening up for that soon though thankfully. "Well Morgana, welcome to the Effekt system."

"System control, this Taeli Raaf requesting permission to land at the palace annex," she said into a hailing channel. She had a feeling Nimue was going to be waiting for just such a request to come through. "Only have myself and one passenger aboard."

Morgana continued to look out the window while [member="Taeli Raaf"] spoke with the system control. From the other side they confirmed "Comfirmed. You are clear to land. Welcome, Lady Raaf." before the ship could decend. Morgana gave a questioning look to why they refered to her as "Lady Raaf", hoping for an explanation. As they went closer towards the city where Morgana was to meet her mother her face was almost pressed against the glass as she looked over the landscape. A natrual beauty of rich high forests and cold waters. It was summer on Effekt, made all the more clear by the blossoming feild of flowers and the like strung about. It was only when they began to come closer to the city did they see larger mountians and wild animals, including a heard of six-legged horse-like creatures that Morgana pointed out with excitment. And then they came to it. The capital city of Effekt, the large technological city that was blended with an almost old Noridc-like style. Hard to describe yet Morgana though it was a beautiful blend. As they continued towards the center of it Morgana only kept looking down.
"Which is it?" Morgana asked looking to the city. "Which house does my mother live in?"

[member="Morgana Forceborn"]

Taeli smiled at the question, although she was certainly glad it was summer on Effekt. Winter here was just way too harsh for her liking, but then she had grown up on a snowy world herself. It was just something about this world that seemed too harsh to be an enjoyable winter. Regardless, she would let the suspense build for a bit as they flew over the city.

At least technology was starting to advance here, but to her mind, it wasn't nearly fast enough.

Finally deciding to cut Morgana a break, and she couldn't wait to see the girl's reaction, all Taeli did was point towards the palace and began bringing the ship in to the nearby landing pad.

"Take a guess," she said, smirking a bit.

Morgana looked to the palace and immedialty dropped her mouth in suprise. her eyes went wide as they came closer and closer before landing. She looked back to [member="Taeli Raaf"] and almost stammered the question"My mother lives here?!?" She glanced back before asking "Am....am I like a princess or something?" Just as she said it the ship landed and they were approched by four gaurds, all armored viking-like men who saluted before indicating for both of the passangers to come out of the ship. Morgana would follow Taeli while trying to figure out just what exaclty was going on.
Once outside a guard looked to Taeli and said "It's good to see you again, Lady Raaf. The Empress is awaiting you. Though she requests your 'guest' wait in the main hall while you speak with her in her quaters."
"E-Em-Empress?" Morgana stammered. Looking to Taeli she asked "My mother is an-an Empress...? Of this place?"

[member="Morgana Forceborn"]

"I suppose you are, aren't you," Taeli said, actually enjoying the gobsmacked expression of her niece. Nodding at the guard, she turned back to Morgana and said, "These three fine gentlemen should be happy to take you to the main hall. I just need to go speak with your mother for a moment. We shouldn't be long."

Leaving Morgana to be taken to the main hall, Taeli followed the other guard through the palace to Nimue's quarters. Her nose crinkled a bit as she sensed that more dark side energy had been present here, frequently actually. New lover perhaps? Knocking on the door, she waited for Nimue to let her in so they could speak.

Ever since she'd sent the word to [member="Taeli Raaf"] Nimue had been nervous as ever. She barley slept or ate for the long wait until both she and her daughter would arrive. And now the day had come. She'd been looking out the window of her room before seeing the familiar shuttle coming into port. She gasped and almost ran to the door but stopped herself. She needed to be careful about this. One wrong slip and no telling what could happen. She had already given orders to her men and now just had to wait. She couldn't sit still. Pacing back and forth while looking back to the portrait of her old lover, the late Emperor Victor. Eventually the wound of a licking door was heard and she turned to see Taeli there. Nimue, dressed in more casual gree robes, hurried over and hugged her before making sure the door was closed. She held both of her hands and almost had a desperate look in her eyes.
"Is she here? Is she alright? Are the men treating her well?" she began as a series of more and more question to follow.

[member="Nimue Stormson"]

"Nimue, Nimue, Nimue, slow down for a second," Taeli said, trying to calm her friend down. "Your men took her to wait for us in the main hall, I think she needs to take it all in first. Just like you asked, she had no idea who exactly you were and what exactly your occupation was. So, I rather enjoyed the shock and surprise, so I have to thank you for that."

Taking in her appearance, she could tell her friend had gotten a little stronger and there was clear evidence in the room that someone else was starting to live here. So Nimue had found someone after all, but she wondered if they were the dark side presence she had felt.

"She's fine otherwise, I'm keeping tabs on her with my Force Senses," she continued saying. "Mainly just surprise and a feeling of everything hasn't settled in yet. She wants to meet you though, so my recommendation, start slow with everything you need to say."

Thanks to [member="Taeli Raaf"] talking her down Nimue began to breath and nod, still holding her hands. She breathed slowly while listening to Taeli explain what was going on. She nodded again before saying "Yes. Of course... Slow." She seemed ready and then cracked before saying "Oh, what if she hates me? What if...I don't know. What if all of this is too much? Maybe I've made a mistake, Taeli. Perhaps if I just let her think this was all a joke or something." She turned away, obviously afraid by what could happen if things went wrong. She was biting her lip while her foot tapping almost furiously.

[member="Nimue Stormson"]

"That is why you take it slow, make her comfortable," Taeli said. "It might take you a while to really get to know each other. Just don't do anything too harsh in front of her, or dispense an empress's justice on someone. Even I might intervene on that point, but other than that, you should go talk with her. I'll go with you and help you both."

Honestly, at this point it was like mother, like daughter. Both too anxious about meeting the other, and worrying about what the other would think of them. At least her sister had been quick to accept her, but that had been under different circumstances.

"Now, we shouldn't keep her waiting too much longer shall we?"

Nimue continued to bit her bottom lip as [member="Taeli Raaf"] tried to talk her down. Eventually she took one final look to the picture of Victor before sighing. She nodded and closed her eyes before following Taeli. She kept at least one hand held while being guided, a deeper way of saying how she wanted Taeli to keep pulling her if she stopped or hesitated. And indeed she did as they continuted towards the main hall. Often Nimue would try to find some small excuse to stop but of course this was just her anxious behavior at work. In truth she wanted to get there was fast as possible. It was just the moment they would that scared her.

[member="Nimue Stormson"]

"Come on, stop trying to delay this," Taeli said, dragging Nimue along by the hand along the corridors. For the Jedi Master, this was just getting more and more amusing by the second at how both mother and daughter were acting. Sure it was probably going to turn into a serious talk eventually, but right now, Taeli was just laughing internally at their reluctance and worry about the other person.

Once they reached the door to the main hall, she pushed it open and almost shoved Nimue inside to where her daughter was probably wandering around the hall, looking at everything. That would be what Taeli was doing if she was Morgana anyways.

"Morgana, might I present Empress Nimue Stormson of Effekt, a.k.a your mother," Taeli said, an overly dramatic and grandiose sweep of the arm accompanying that statement.

Once she was serpeated from [member="Taeli Raaf"] Morgana had begun to wander about the main hall. Indeed she was taken aback by how grand it all was. To think this all belonged to her mother. It made her wonder if she was indeed ruler of the entire planet and what that meant for her. Many Jedi were royals in their own rights, but how many were royalty to an entire planet? As Morgana thought on this she found herself looking at the large golden throne at the end of the hall. She was drawn to how beauitful it was to where she walked up, tempted to sit on it. She only let her hand glid around the sides of it for a little before starting to ready her rear to place it upon the seat. She stopped and hurried away from it when the door opened, thinking it would be a guard who told her it was a crime to do so.
As the two approached Morgana's eyes instanlty went to the woman next to her aunt. She was beautiful to say the least. Long raven hair and deep emerald eyes. Her attire may have been common to some but for Morgana she found it so rich. As Taeli introduced her the suspicion was confirmed. THIS was her mother, the Empress of this entire planet.
Both of them looked at each other, trying to speak but neither having any words. Even the empress felt like a poor begger woman in front of a fully armed knight who could strike her down at any moment. Morgana only felt perplaxed to the point of silence.
The best she could muster was a "Hi..."
Nimue responded with a small "Hello..."
(Might jump between both of the at points, just fyi lol)

[member="Morgana Forceborn"]

(that's fine)

"Well I can see this is going to be a great time of single word greetings and nervousness," Taeli said, teasing both of them. Then again, she had no room to talk considering how she and Corvus had met, but neither of these two needed to know that. Moving off to give them their space, but not far enough away to not give snarky comments when needed, she sat down on the floor and pulled out a datapad. This was going to be interesting.
