I Bring With Me A Jedi To Be [Republic / Jedi Order]

[ Theme ]

Pratiya never thought she would come to the Republic capital. She was here with a child, and desperately in search of Jedi. Sure, Pratiya didn't know where exactly to look, but her options were limited. No way was she returning to the Silver Order, she had abandoned them and fled to the furthest flung planets in the galaxy to stay away from them. Not that she hated them, but her experiences while studying there still haunted her. Being a Jedi still interested her, but she wasn't sure of herself. She didn't know if she ever would be.

So here she was, exiting the spaceport in the get-up of one who had just walked off an arid, desert planet. Which was true, and the climate in the city was far more relaxing. She almost breathed a sigh of relief, but the air smelt far worse. Trains whizzed by, as did speeders and all sorts of transports. In the big city, Pratiya had no idea where to take [member="Rhain"], hopefully the Jedi would spot them first. That would make both of their lives easier.

The child remained clinging to [member="Pratiya"] as they made their way around the capital city, she had her robe over her small figure with the hood somewhat shadowing her face with her blindfold tied around her head.

"You should join with me, I'd really like to have a friend with me..."

"I don't think they would want much to do with me, little sparrow," Pratiya replied, "I've already abandoned one Order, they would only see me as a waste of time." She kept Rhain close to her as they maneuvered through the streets. She dug deep into her pockets and found little in way of credits. Not even enough for a drink. Pratiya didn't take no for an answer, not when it came to a thirsty tongue, or an empty stomach. She weaved through the crowd and pitched herself up against a vending machine, and felt beyond the physical boundaries. She tugged at the Force, and it relented under her limited skill. The machine chugged out a can of fruit juice, Pratiya popped the cap, took a swig and offered the rest to Rhain.

The child would accept the offer of the drink, as she took a sip and passing it back to [member="Pratiya"], the youngling would sigh.

"I don't think they'd say no to you, I mean... If your intentions are pure."

Rhain was obviously naive to the world around her, that much was obvious though she tried to keep an uplifting air about her and regardless of her past, Rhain looked forward.

"But what is pure? Sure you could get all snotty with me and bring up the correct definition," Pratiya trailed on. "But I'm not talking about that. I just stole a can of juice so we could drink. My intention was pure, I didn't want you to go thirsty, and neither did I want to go thirsty. The fact remains I stole, even if I meant to do good." She moved an arm to rest on Rhain's shoulder as they began to walk, dumping the crushed can into a garbage container. She kept her other hand in the folds of her airy clothes. They were perfectly suited for the warmth of Tatooine, but while the temperature was far better here, the nightly breeze sent chills down her spine. The hand itself curled around a metal rod, a comfort and nothing more. She didn't want trouble, but you never knew when trouble could creep up on you.

The child would give soft pout as she sighs, listening to what she was told but ultimately it seemed that she was set in the ways, but what do you expect for a youngling with yet n experience of the world, regardless of her being an ex-slave.

"Your intentions will shine through to the Jedi, I am sure of it!"

Rhain would grip onto [member="Pratiya"]'s hand ever more tightly, in a way only a child could attempt to reassure her of the world.

Corvus considered leaving straight away. They'd resolved the issue of the repentant Sith Lord and she was now overdue on Ossus but something told her to stay. Was it the Force? Or was it a need to be alone? To be truly alone. Being on a ship by yourself didn't count. That was simply being on your own.

No, to truly be alone, you needed to be surrounded by people - but connecting with none of them. As a cool breeze blew onto her face, she descended the steps of the small Jedi enclave, and pulled her robes tighter and headed for the brightest lights. For there she would find people and could be in her own world if only for just a few moments.

Time to reflect on friends lost - both figuratively and practically. Times they were a-changing as the song lyrics suggested. And she'd better start swimming. So she pulled her hood up and the Force even closer. Entering Moving Meditation, she walked without fear of bumping into anyone whilst seeking inner peace and knowledge.

The tightening of Rhains hand was a mild comfort, and very much appreciated. Pratiya was just as lost as the young girl. She had visited the world of Voss and Tatooine, but never a city, nor the big city. It was mindbogglingly immense in scope, and looking up at the skycutters made her nauseous. The crowd was getting thicker with each passing second as night markets and bars opened up in the late evening. Pratiya's only response was agitation, preferring to shove her way through the heart of the crowd rather than move with the flow. She was never aware of who she may just shove out of her way . . .

The child would notice [member="Pratiya"]'s sudden rush, attempting to stop her though turned into being dragged forward.

"Miss, be careful others are walking about!"

Though Rhain's fingers would eventually slip, ultimately letting go of Pratiya's hand and tripping over her own to feet, the youngling would seem to fall onto the nearest person in the vicinity and the one's robes she grabbed hold of for balance happened to be none other but [member="Corvus Raaf"]'s.

The Force was always telling you things - but only if you were listening. It allowed Corvus to negotiate passers-by even though her thoughts were elsewhere.

But it was tugging on the hem of her robes trying to tell her something and she was blissfully unaware. Or rather she was unhappily unaware - for her thoughts were of funerals and repentant Sith Lords and how much you could truly trust them. Which almost made her laugh because the Sith Lord she knew best she'd trust with her life - but that was an entirely different set of circumstances.

So when the metaphorical tug became an actual tug, Corvus was brought back to the here and now in a most abrupt fashion. And the first thing she was aware of were two Force signatures. Like beacons in the dark, they shone above all other auras nearby.

"I'm sorry," Corvus said, smiling and bowing simultaneously, whilst ensuring the young girl remained upright. And then she smiled to the young woman who was clearly with her, and bowed again. "It was my fault, I should have been paying more attention. Were you...heading for the Enclave? I ask as it's rather busy there right now. Are you..." she looked around, but in truth was using Force Sight to sense for any other Jedi, "With anyone? Your Master perhaps?"

[member="Rhain"] | [member="Pratiya"]

The child would offer a light smile as she was ensured that she didn't fall and remained upright, with a quick brush of her cloaks the miraluka youngling would then speak to [member="Corvus Raaf"] in a soft tone.

"N- No I fell and grabbed you, I- I'm sorry miss. Th- The enclave? I- Um- I don't know, I'm with her."

Rhain would point to [member="Pratiya"] in what would seem as the excitement from a child and the happiness.

"My master? Um- She's looking after me, does that count?"

Just a bit behind [member="Corvus Raaf"], Sabena stumbled upon the scene. She had been doing Padawan things on Onderon - shadowing Jedi Masters such as Corvus and others in order to see how they perform in in real-life situations. Such a thing was supposed to be a beneficial learning experience for Padawans - if they do not disturb their superiors.

Any goodbyes that were to be said were done just before Corvus took a detour toward the location of [member=Pratiya] and [member="Rhain "]. Sabena noticed this. After almost a minute of hesitation, Sabena decided to follow the Grand Master.

Once Sabena managed to catch up to Corvus, the Grand Master had just caught Rhain. Standing a few meters behind Corvus, Sabena took in a few heavy breaths - she just had taken a rather brisk jog to keep up.

As her breathing settled, silence became the only thing one could hear from Sabena. She first looked to the Grand Master as she spoke to the child. Then, she turned her attention to Rhain- spotting a band wrapped around where her eyes might have been.

After Rhain's reply, Sabena's gaze would shift to Pratiya.

Pratiya felt Rhain slip out of her hands, but by the time she turned around to search for her, two women had showed up. The woman of her primary focus felt like a shining beacon of light in the Force, bright and permeating of soothing energy. The other not so much, but certainly stronger in the Force than Pratiya's meager training. "Hold up," Pratiya said almost-defensively, "I'm not anyone's master." Pratiya had not been paying attention at the time to catch Corvus' first words about the enclave. Nonetheless, Pratiya knew for what this woman was; a Jedi, and a powerful one at that. "Excuse my crudeness, but I want to hand this girl over to the Jedi. Found 'er as a slave on Tatooine, offered her a free ride. I've spent all my credits bringing her to find the Jedi, now I'm dirt poor. I just want to get back home."

The child would shiver a little, though not due to being cold by any sort of the word but from noticing a third enter the group, though blindfolded it was only natural for the youngling to see with the assistance of the force and as such, she would seem to look directly towards [member="Sabena Shai"] and walk past [member="Corvus Raaf"] to give a smile to the padawan.

[member="Pratiya"]

Corvus smiled in return and hoped she hadn’t startled either of them. “Well a betting woman would say you were lost, and as I’m a Corellian, you should never tell me the odds.”

And before she could speak again, Corvus was aware of a presence behind her – another Jedi. It was almost Conclave proportions. This time the aura was familiar and Corvus deduced she’d been followed and made a mental note that ignoring the Force was not conducive to a long-life. Had that been a Sith assassin, she’d not be here.

But the Padawan…Sabena? Yes Sabena, said nothing. So Corvus focused instead on the other young woman. Again, a smile played over her lips as she responded. “So, not a Master then. But showing all the good traits of a Jedi, which is to be commended.” Corvus checked her pockets in vain. She was an old-fashioned sort. She had enough credits in her pocket for a meal. And that was all. She had few material possessions – and nothing of any real value. Most of what she had was owned by the Republic. The ship, the fuel, even the clothes she stood in.

“Well, I’m sure we have the funds at the Enclave to reimburse you – because that is the only right thing to do. And no doubt you’ll stay for something to eat, a shower and a bed for the night until you can decide where your next adventure lies.”

Her eyes remaining on the two she smiled again. “And Sabena, you can show us all the way back, yes? This is Sabena by the way,” Corvus waved a hand above her shoulder to indicate where the Jedi standing behind her was. “She’s a very able Padawan who, it seems, must have thought I would either get up to no good or lose myself. I’m lucky to have her around.”

A smile played over the lips of the woman, she responded, “So, not a Master then. But showing all the good traits of a Jedi, which is to be commended.” Pratiya almost growled. Almost. She had given up that life and would rather not be reminded, but what did this Jedi know of her previous life? It was just a mistake of words, and Pratiya was quick to shrug it off and put her mind past it. “Well, I’m sure we have the funds at the Enclave to reimburse you – because that is the only right thing to do. And no doubt you’ll stay for something to eat, a shower and a bed for the night until you can decide where your next adventure lies.” Pratiya answered as truthfully as she could, knowing full well what an 'adventure' on a planet like Tatooine was truly like, "Living life the dirty way isn't much of an adventure. It's hard scrapping enough credits for just a meal, let alone for a flight outta 'ome, and now I've gone and spent it all. Though, thanks for offering the reimbursement, I 'ear Saleucami has work going for bikers. It's likely I'll end up there next, after I have a good sleep of course." The woman said, "This is Sabena by the way,” she waved a hand above her shoulder to indicate where the Jedi standing behind her was. “She’s a very able Padawan who, it seems, must have thought I would either get up to no good or lose myself. I’m lucky to have her around.” Pratiya introduced herself, "Pleasure to meet y'ah, I'm Pratiya."

[member="Corvus Raaf"] @Rhain @Sabena Shai

As soon as [member="Corvus Raaf"] said Sabena’s name, the Padawan’s eyes snapped to the Grand Master. She stood upright - tight. She shook her head “Yes” in response to Corvus’s request. Then, she turned to [member="Pratiya"] and gave a quick, hurried bow.

Nice to meet you, I’m Sabena,” she quickly said.

The Padawan gave another bow, this time to [member="Rhain"] .

Nice to meet you, I’m Sabena,” she speedily repeated.

Turning around, Sabena eyed the path back from where she and Corvus came from. She turned back momentarily to gesture the group to follow. Once again in silence, Sabena began to walk - checking back periodically to make sure she did not walk too fast for the group.

“I’m Corvus by the way,” she offered in a throwaway style as she listened to Pratiya. “I once lived life as you speak. I left the Temple on Corellia. I was lost both philosophically and physically. For eighteen months I struggled to eat. When I arrived on Ossus finally, I only had the clothes I stood up in – and they were the same ones I left Corellia in.”

“But please don’t think I’m trying to talk you into coming to Ossus. We all walk our own path. If you choose to look for work as a biker, then another day I’m sure our paths will cross.” She then turned. “I suspect we should keep up with Sabena here, or else we’ll get left behind and that would never do.”

“So tell me,” she said, turning to the younger child, “Do you want to become a Padawan?”

[member="Sabena Shai"] | [member="Pratiya"] | [member="Rhain"]

Rhain would look back in the direction of [member="Corvus Raaf"] before a soft smile appears on her lips. "I would like to learn more of Ashla and her blessings please." instinctively the young child would begin to rub the side of her neck, a rough red ring around her neck would easily be seen but the child wouldn't act out any sort of pain when touching it, instead seems to be even more excited and energetic once her fingers have ran across the red lines.

The smile was infectious as Corvus couldn't help but grin as the young girl spoke. "That can be arranged. Our main Academy is on Ossus and I shall presently be heading back there - unless Sabena is going there more quickly in which case you could quite readily travel with her."

"And tell me - and this is not a trick question by the way, I am simply a curious sort, what makes you wish to be a Jedi?" She wanted to ask Pratiya why she did not, but decided it was far too confrontational a question for now.
