I Bring With Me A Jedi To Be [Republic / Jedi Order]

Rhain would continue to scratch at her neck, her smile never wavering and nodding at the question before thinking for her answering to [member="Corvus Raaf"]. "I feel more at peace with the teachings of Ashla, I remember being told when I was a baby that Ashla represented peace and Bogan represented chaos." she would hesitate a little, looking around a moment before continuing. "They live in harmony but I do not like chaos, it- It makes everything blurry for me." with that her smile turns a little awkward as she turns to look around the place, the living force around her assisting in her ability to see through it.

Corvus listened and nodded. “Yes, the Light-side of the Force is commonly known as Ashla and it is what we teach at the Academy. Some simply refer to it as the Force. Bogan is the name for the Dark-side of the Force and is often referred to as an aspect of the Force. You won’t be surprised to hear we do not learn any of these Abilities.”

“And harmony is often a misunderstood concept amongst both Jedi and Sith. Both look to eradicate the other when history has told us our role is to bring about balance. And like you, I do not like chaos – and look to oppose it by living by the Jedi Code. So…what do you know of Jedi?”

[member="Rhain"]

Rhain would happily bounce a moment, the young lady seemed to listen carefully and with a soft smile, she would reply to [member="Corvus Raaf"]. "All I know is what my- Um- The people who owned me said, that they followed Ashla and were- Um- What they called white knights that protected the weak." the child would look around after speaking, it would seem that she didn't exactly know how to answer.

The mention of ownership reachd Corvus' ears but sh chose not to press the subject. She had no way of telling how comfortable the young girl was in discussing the subject, so she simply waited for a recurrence of the talk of slavery as a cue to discuss the matter.

"For sure we protect the weak. In truth we protect everyone, all life in fact. We even chose to save a Sith life rather than kill them - although we don't always have that opportunity. To be a guardian means sometimes we have to make difficult decisions and although taking a life is the last option - it remains something we have to consider."

"But tell me, has anyone ever trained you to use the Force?"

@Rhain

Rhain remains still a moment thinking of the question [member="Corvus Raaf"] gave her before scrunching her face a little in response. "A teacher showed me how to see with the force around us, though I sometimes messed up and-" the child places her hand once more along the red marks along her neck before continuing "That made my learning quicken, but I was only given to a teacher to learn to see so I was able to grab drinks and food-" she would give a soft gulp before continuing "Guns too sometimes, but not anymore."

Corvus' face was now impassive. "Rest assured that training at the Academy will be very different from what you've experienced so far. Learning progresses at your pace and only encouragement is used. And I tend to avoid guns myself. So uncivilised."

"But in learning Force Sight you will have learned a lot of Force Sense and that will stand you in good stead for other Abilities, trust me."

@Rhain

Rhain lightly scratches upon her cheek as a smile grows from her lips. "That sounds nice, who will be teaching me?" her tone would be of easy excitement, though she would stop a moment before humming a little. "Do I have to learn how to use... One of those bright swords? They scare me." afterall, she was still simply a child and looked upon [member="Corvus Raaf"] with high admiration.

Corvus smiled. Young Padawans and Younglings always had an infectious enthusiasm about them.

"Initially you will be a Youngling. Expect to lean Force Sense, Push, Pull, Speed, Jump and Telekinesis - none of which require a Master to oversee. We trust you'll participate in the classes and once a Knight or Master chooses you to be a Padawan you can start training with them. Things like Force Barrier, how to use a Lightsaber."

"The saber should never scare because unlike a blaster, it is primarily for defence. It should never, ever be used for attack. But these are things you will learn at the Academy. So...lets get you a decent meal, some robes and then we can head off to Ossus. Once there, you can sign up on a registry for a Master and once one comes forward, you are sorted. Having said that, you can train in any aspect of the Force before then - you don't have to wait you know."

[member="Rhain"]

Rhain would give [member="Corvus Raaf"] a smile in return, her lip would twitch a little. "Could we go now? W- We could have food when we get there!" it was obvious the child was excited, though her excitement ends a moment "Do I have to tell anyone about this?" her fingers would run along the marks once more "B- But could we go now?" it would seem the child was jumping from one subject to another, it was as if she didn't know how to bring it up initially.

Corvus picked up the pace and led them now to the Jedi Enclave. As they walked, she put her hand on the Padawan's shoulder to provide a level of comfort and security. "Tell me if you wish or not, it is up to you, but is there someone we should be avoiding? I sense you are bothered by someone or perhaps by something."

[member="Rhain"]

Rhain's walking pace would slow down to that of [member="Corvus Raaf"]'s as she places a hand upon her shoulder, it was reassuring to say the least to have the Jedi master with her. "He promised that they wouldn't come after me, I just had to point to a man who threatened them and I was set free." she would cough a little, the child wasn't intentionally trying to avoid the conversation but naturally felt awkward about the situation "I don't- Um- I don't remember my family clearly but- But I remember Thraxis."

Corvus didn’t want to push the conversation but it was a subject that to ignore might have been as damaging as to progress.

“First of all, nobody will come after you. Not now and certainly not with Jedi with you. And once you’re on Ossus, you’ll be able to relax even more. So tell me, who is Thraxis? But if you’d rather talk about something else, please do.”

[member="Rhain"]

Rhain would scratch at her cheek a moment before replying to [member="Corvus Raaf"] "Thraxis is a n- Man who works for the droid person who took me but he is the man who took me away from the droid person and let me run off with the lady." she would nod several times afterwards. "Are people nice on Ossus?"

Corvus nodded. "We are Jedi and on the whole nice. And we are honest and we are fair - which is as important. We are like a family and we all care for each other. All we ask in return is that you do your best. The best you can do, not our estimation of you. As long as you do your best, everyone will be happy with you. It is as simple as that, I assure you."

"Is there anyone that you would like to inform that you are going to Ossus?"

[member="Rhain"]

Corvus smiled as they reached the Enclave and they were greeted by a few Padawans and a Knight who was stationed here. "We have a new recruit for sure and one who needs a good night sleep and some food. Please look after them both and I'll be heading back to Ossus tomorrow with [member="Rhain"] for sure."

She bowed to Rhain. "Welcome to the Jedi Order. Relax, eat well and get plenty of sleep. Tomorrow we travel to Ossus and if you'd like to learn something on the ship, I have no objection to using the time fruitfully rather than just travelling. Think overnight and when I collect you tomorrow morning, you can tell me what you've decided."
