I just need you now

Zeltros
Quarter after 1, planet time
Palace bedroom

City never sleeped, day after day the lights glowed bright into the night a array of colors splashing over the building. Nor may stardust would enjoy the corset or even be out and about enjoyed the cook weather. Yet today she was inside of her bedroom looking over old pictures, some from times long gone and faces long simce laid to rest, some of them more recent that hit at her heart like a thousand needles. Darben, the man she would go through hell to and on several occasions nearly died for him....they had fought not to long ago and went separate ways and yet....stardust was finding herself now that the bad was done and all she had...gone

She sent a message

darben...I know you might not get this or care but...I need you, I was blind in my motives but it was all for you...my position with them and everything was so I could protect you...in the end I didnt see it was pushing you away...again if you ignore this I understand just...I hope you understand I'm sorry and love you

Inside a space market

A rather gruff looking man stood behind a stall, passing off souvenirs and carvings he had to sell, given by suppliers. He didn't look too great, like he had spent too long laying in bed, drinking away the days. Offering simple waves, and then shooing people away who lingered too long after purchasing what they wished for. His daughter, Renla, was off exploring space. His...wife was somewhere he knew not with his youngest, as he never looked back.

Darben felt bad for up and leaving, getting back into old habits. It was then with these in mind that something beeped on his datapad. He pulled it out...and he saw it. Slowly Darben set it back down, staring at it. Then, taking a metal casket, he went to take a few sips. Before setting down a holographic comm device, setting to call her.

Stardust was in the middle of meditating, focusing on centering herself within the force. Soon her holo comm went off and broke that quiet, forcing her to stand a little irritated looking to see who was calling before her mood quickly changed. Hand hovering over the button before she swallowed and pressed it then stood back to her into view

darben?

Darben Skirae sighed once the call began. What was there to say? How would they even begin off the conversation? It had to come at some point, there was no running from it. Sure, there was crowds going off behind him, along the paths outside his stall. Before he could even think about backing out...there she was. The tall woman he fell for, however blue because of the holographic display. But already he could picture her green skin as if she was there before him, staring him down with her gaze. Of course, he went with perhaps the most off track starter from what they needed to discuss.

"How is Brigh?" Darben asked over to Stardust. He was not sure what else to even say, how to go about all of this. "Is she going okay? Training up with her abilities?"

She sighed herself, looking to that man many years ago she fell for, fell hard for actually. A hand move to try and touch hin yet she reminded herself it was merely a hologram before her and frowned before offering a half smile

she is fine, shes here on zeltros actually....i... um...we moved to here for our safety

She said rubbing the back of her head shamefully and looked away trying to figure out how to put her thoughts to words

shes been asking about you...I've avoided the question as I'm not sure what to say...hell not even sure now

Darben had not even moved to touch her. He was afraid to. Afraid of the emotions that would rush to him. Plus, he knew it was a hologram, not truly her. He frowned when she did so, unsure how to react to it. Zeltros? That surprised him. "Zeltros? It got that bad, did it? It has always been a safer place for us...that and Imahaylan" he murmured quietly. He was far away from galactic conflict, for now. And wanted to keep it that way.

Then it was brought up, that she was asking about him. "I wouldn't know either, in your place..." He left it at that, his gaze growing distant. What was he supposed to say to that? It all felt so...different now. Broken peace between them. "Renla is off exploring somewhere...she messages now and then" was all he could manage.

the sith... betrayed us, it all fell apart around us...

Better to approach it head on now, sighing loudly she patted her sides as if to say what else more could she say

darben, I was blind....in my intentions to protect my family I lost sight of what I needed to do to protect and i... I lost what I cared about the most...what kept me going...you...I might have bright it might be safe I might be with the jedi now doing some good but....it has no purpose without you...what I lost while blind

Darben Skirae had heard little of it all. Preferring to avoid it all, the pain and suffering of war. It was too much to worry about, too much on his plate. As soon as she brought it up, he looked away. And she went on, and Darben had no words to return to Stardust. She picked a side, a side he disagreed with. He could not bare to look back...but it wasn't her. It was all that happened, how it happened. Till that last part, he looked back. Frowning.

"Lost me? So you think...you truly think you lost me?" He wanted to admit then and there, that he planned to return. When it all blew over, completely. And then it passed over with guilt, he tried to escape the feelings instead. "I came out here, to be safe...I hoped to return. Some day. I am not lost..."

Darben had to think over his next words, carefully. Very carefully. "The war tore us apart, we both saw the ugliness, in ourselves and on the field. I don't think I will ever forget it all."

Stardust got to her knees ans bowed her head in shame. Hearing his words as she took a deep breath and looked up at him tears forming within her eyes as she took a depe breath to not break down then and there

to me I had lost you, to return home and not see you there every night...to not know if I'd even return at all to you or if I'd perish and youd have to find out via a message...

She bowed her head again and let the tears fall before looking up again

I need you darben, i need the only man who truly anchored me to reality once again...the one who I understand truely and understand me

Darben was afraid of that. Already his emotions were on the edge, and now she was kneeling before him. As he had done for her, ring in hand in his moment. In her moment only tears. A hand moved to the ring he had, fingers moving along it, turning it. He understood her, she understood him. A merchant and a Jedi, one of the most unlikely of pairings.

"I..." he tried to form the words, only to come out in a croak. What was he to say? What he wanted to say, of course. "I will return. In two days time...I will have to find transport out of here."

She had expected anger, for him to not come back for this to be the last chance

And instead he said what made her falter, what made her pause, she looked back up at him and cleared her throat so she could properly speak as she slowly stood

no need I can send a trnapset to you in less...unless you want to find your own...or...feth it I'll come and get you

Darben was about to say no, to say he would come in a transport he could find. But the need to see her in person as soon as possible overwhelmed him and he simply nodded. "I am in the marketplace. Just look through the stalls, you will find me."

He didn't even turn off the holo projection. He did not wish to, only wanting to keep it on as long as possible. Darben sat back on a chair he pulled up, as he now waited.

"I wont take long"

She said and immediately left, forgetting to even close the holocom at all as she fast paced towards her landing area, private fighter waiting there the old thubderstar that had been in service many a place.

Taking off without so much as telling anyone she aimed for the sky and hit the after burners, roaring past civilians and police transports as she watched the blue sky become black and very soon changed into hundreds of stars passing

She hopped from system to system burning fuel wasting not a single second, soon she reached the station and docked donating for refueling and started her way towards the market place slowing down to look

Darben was watching the holocom the whole time, as if she might reappear to see him, to talk to him more. Already he was missing her. His stall had a closed sign up, so none came to approach. Though curious eyes peered in, only to look away as they saw a sad bearded man.

There he sat, clasping his hands onto his now shaking knees. Expecting, at any moment, for her to show before him, to take his hands in her own. So why did he feel afraid?

She moved carefully, many eyeing her only to look away when her fiery gaze looked back, each stall throughly looked over before she came to a closed one. Approaching she saw and sensed Darden as she entered it

darben....hard to do business when your closed at high time yeah?

She said with a attempt at humor and then slowly came closer and got to her knees and bowed her head

by the force....you grew that beard again

Darben was still watching it, back to the front of the stall. He hadn't heard her, not until she spoke. And he raised his head, slowly. Turning on the chair he was on, turning the chair with him. Till there she was, right before him...and he chuckled at that comment.

"I can pull off a nice beard..." _He reached out a hand for her. "I missed you, Stardust."

didnt say ya didnt, just is all scraggly and needs trimming up

She took his hand gently, pulling herself closer to him as she pulled him into a hug and swallowed so she disnt break down yet again then and there

I missed you too darben, more then you'll ever know

Darben wrapped his fingers slowly into hers, interlacing their hands together. He began to weep, he couldn't hold back any longer, now in her embrace. Together they were, it was the oath they made. He had a guess of how much she missed him, Darben was of course far off. How could he comprehend just how much.

"I am betting...a lot" he managed to say once he got a hold of himself.

Darben kept himself steady, emotionally and physically, as he simply held her in an embrace to help her along. It was bad, for the both of them. He rested his own head against hers, forehead to forehead. He missed her, cared for her deeply. What had caused them to break apart like this so quickly? He dare not think of it, lest it happen again. Darben simply waded in the moment, as if it were an open ocean that he could float upon forever. But eventually he would need to return to the shores of reality. So he did so, parting a moment.

"I missed you too...gonna take me back home, now?" He asked, with a cocky grin as if to brighten the mood back up. A lot had happened between then and now. There was a lot to catch up on. Perhaps too much for a single day, even. A weeks worth of catching up to do, at the very least.
