Travot has some similarities in his background, which might lend itself to your story.
He was something of a fringe spacer, exploring the outer reaches of the galaxy with a rogue jedi master in a beat-up light freighter. One of his threads (here) right now has him running his ship as a tramp freighter as he tries to get to the Jedi Order on Ossus.
That might be background enough for our characters to meet, somewhere in a dank cantina or as old spacer friends.
I'm afraid Travot is not very powerful in the Force or experienced, if you're looking for more of a mentor character.

Sounds good to me. I'm seeing it on Saturday, and a couple of my friends and I will be watching several of the avengers movies before it then too, so I won't be super active then.
