Yeah it's bonkers. I've come to terms that Star Wars is gonna Star Wars, though. I tend to stick with it because it provides some consistency. Besides it's hardly the first vaguely SF thing to call the largest and meanest ships 'Destroyers' (looking at you Babylon 5).
