I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

flat,550x550,075,f.jpg

Twisters Soda Fountain was your typical old-fashioned ice cream parlor that was located at the heart of Coronet City's Riverfront Park on Corellia where Sasha Voss now lived with her adopted family. Well the Denon orphan hadn't actually been adopted by [member="Judah Lesan"] and his wife, [member="Katara Starkos"], but the Jedi Knight had taken the Force-sensitive teenager in and now was in the process of training her along with his son, [member="Judah Lesan Jr."]; a fourteen year old too.

Sasha was dressed casually in low-rise jeans and a tank top for the hover blading JJ and her were doing today in the park. After blading around for about an hour, the two padawans decided to take a break and get treats at the ice cream parlor. The blue-eyed, magenta-haired teen popped off her helmet, then shook out her reversed-bob styled hair before opening the door to the Soda Fountain, holding it for her companion until he followed behind her.

"Well since you lost the bet, I'll take a nerf burger basket and a chocolate shake," she smiled smugly at the dark-haired Corellian, then bladed over to a table in the center of the parlor.

"Did you watch? DID YOU?!"

A voice buzzes in her ear, where a tiny earbud is wedged; a hand twirls hair about her right index finger, as she walks through Riverfront Park, talking to her sister about last night's grav-ball game - one of several that were broadcast on the holonet throughout the season.

"It was fe- krif- absolutely amazing! It felt amazing."

She laughs, and unwinds the strands of long, brown hair from around her finger, looking this way and that to make absolutely certain she hadn't wandered where she did not intend to wander, in ballerina flats, hip-hugging jeans and a fairly modest, slightly slouchy, long-sleeved, black-and-white horizontal stripe t-shirt.

"OHHHH I KICKED HIS ASS! You should have seen the look on his face, Jes."

She rolls her eyes...

"I mean up close, you..."

...spots the ice-cream parlour - the best one in the city - and then...

"...no. NO! I would never! Especially not from that team. That you would even dare suggest that..."

...oh. Well, that settles it! Wandering over!

"...I swear, Jes, next time you are home you are getting it. Ha, ha, ha. Hey, I just grabbed a view of a couple friends, so I'm gonna go catch up with them, okay?"

She nods.

"Love you too, Sis. Bye."

Just as the call ends, she comes to the entrance, wandering in like she had been here a gazillion times before (even waving to one of the staff), and zoning in on [member="Sasha Voss"], and [member="Judah Lesan"] Jr, wasting absolutely no time in making a bee-line over to the table they'd taken up.

"Heeeeey, guys," she drawls out in greeting, looking to each of them, giving each a once-over, "JJ; Sasha... hoverblading, huh? Cool."

Tes drapes one arm over the edge of the table, not yet bothering to sit down... not that there was any certainty that she could sit still, not after last night. The brunette gently skewers the both of them with a look, a gleam in her eyes, and a slightly giddy grin on her face.

"So, did ya hear? We won our game last night!"

Not that she expected anyone to watch. Sure, grav-ball was popular, but she didn't force it on anyone, or make it seem like an obligation that they had to watch the major-junior league when they could watch the majors instead. It was always nice when someone did watch the broadcast games, or listen to them on voicefeed, though...

"You just couldn't keep your eye on the path ahead of you could you, JJ, he asked himself, muttering under his breath as Sasha held the door open for him.

The whole thing was backwards with the Denon orphan holding the door for him. The country boy was very well mannered when it came to things like that. There was something about the arrangement of having Sasha living with the Lesan's that challenged the sheltered young Padawan. If he was pressed to his face about being sheltered the teen would deny it, but he really knew it was true. There were things about the galaxy Judah did want JJ to deal with yet, but the time was coming where he needed to be exposed to them. This led to a distracted JJ, not to mention the fact he was noticing girls in different light. Things were changing in him, and outwardly on them, but he still was a gentleman nonetheless, though he had lost the bet because he had been destracted by the Sasha moved while hover blading.

Sighing, JJ pulled out his wallet from the front pocket of his blue jeans, and looked at what he had to see if he could even afford to pay off the bet. He was buying as a result of losing, and [member="Sasha Voss"] was sure taking advantage of it with her order. Fortunately he had enough, if they shared the shake, because he wanted the basket too. His appetite was amazing at 14. The training Judah had JJ going through, and what [member="Cambria Zadira"] had him doing, meant he ate a lot just because of what he burned in calorie content. His lighter hued eyes looked to Sasha, and he tugged at the blue t-shirt he was wearing.

"We'll have to share the shake, I can only afford to get one," he said as he walked up to the counter and placed the order.

He came back with a table number, and two glasses of water. He had barely sat down when [member="Tes Dralyn"] wandered into the parlor and identified them. She was clearly excited about the gravball win from last night. While JJ watched, he had always wanted to play. Instead he was the quiet kid that didn't seem to fit anywhere. Part of it was he was busy keeping the fact he was a Jedi a secret in order to have a normal teenage school life. There were only two people his age that new his secret, Shasha and Tes, because they were both Jedi as well.

"Yeah I saw, though you almost got yourself kicked out of the game. Regionals now though, huh?"

The burgers came with the chocolate shake and JJ quickly got the idea of what this might look like to anyone who had just walked in through the door. For whatever reason he got really red in the cheeks and took a drink of water, as he motioned for Tes to sit.

"Sasha really wanted you to punch the guy though."

Yes, JJ was trying to pull her into the conversation so he didn't have to do all the talking... especially since he was the only guy. On the other hand, he couldn't complain about that either.

I was hungry. But then again, what else was new? I was always hungry. That's what happens when you can barely manage to earn enough credits to keep yourself warm at night on Corellia. I walked down the street and began looking in all of the alleyways. It as what I usually did when I couldn't ignore the hunger pains anymore. It was amazing what stuff restaurants threw away that was still perfectly edible. I slipped my hands into my pockets and felt a few credit chips. Oh, that's right. From my last job. Must've had a little left over after I bought some new socks and shoes. Well, maybe today I wouldn't have to dig through a dumpster for food. My eyes spotted Twisters Soda Fountain. How many times had I wanted so desperately to go in there like so many other kids had? So, I decided to step inside. It was a nice place. Clean and warm. A few kids were in there, too. They looked like they were having a good time. I walked up to the counter. "Um..... I'll just get some fries and a water." My voice sounded so small in here. I could've ordered more, but I didn't want to spend all of my money. The man behind the counter nodded and began preparing my food. I decided to sit at the table closest to the door. I don't know why. Just felt like a more suitable place to be.

Shade walked down the narrow hallway of the ice cream parlor, heading back from the bathrooms, and slumped into the closest seat, it was half hidden in shadows and he pulled up his hood, he was in a midnight-black trenchcoat, and black gloves. he slumped forward and leaned onto the table, listening to the others talking about games and bets. When a girl who looked like she lived on the scrapps of rats walked in and ordered a meager meal he glanced around for the first time, all of them seemed broke. He thought about offering to pay for whatever they wanted, but turned to the shadows and covered his face with his hood.

He wasn't very good around people, especially if they were already a group.
And these people seemed quite tight-nit..

So, Twisters.

It was my 'hangout' of choice when I needed that sugar hit, mostly because they sold the best coffee ice cream on Corellia. So, I wasn't surprised to see the random bunch of teenagers that sat down, and immediately started bickering. I simply walked up to the register, grinned at the barista, and ordered.

"A coffee-chocolate-rum raisin-cherry-wroshyr sap-rocky road-berry blast milkshake, a box of wings, and a burger."

I had a sudden burst of uncharacteristic charity, so before I sat down in a booth by myself, I looked over my shoulder.

"And get those guys whatever they want. At least it'll shut them up."

Twisters.

A nice place, as homey as a place could be around here.

I pushed open the door and walked over to an empty table, resting against the chair I looked over at the random teens sitting together, the place was always busy.

suddenly he looked up and yelled out, "Get those guys whatever they want," he looked over to the guy that had yelled out a second before himself, "Split the cost or give them double?" he joked.

I looked over at the white-haired guy who'd literally mirrored my thought at the same time.

"Give 'em double. Keep 'em quiet, longer."

I sat down in the booth with the guy.

"Never seen you here, before. But, if I were to feed a picture of you into my identity scanner at home, I'd be willing to bet money that you'd show up as [member="Mit Tuxaire"]."

He looked at the guy as he walked over.

"My thought exactly," he paused.

"You would win that money." he said with a grin, "Is it so obvious?"

"And you are?"

"I'm Jan. You know, you Novas have a group bounty on your heads? In some systems, you're considered criminals, and in others you're heroes."

I began to feel a little dizzy, as I noticed the lack of sugar in my system.

"Anyway, you're one of the Novas, and only one of 'em has white hair at the moment. So, you're [member="Mit Tuxaire"]."

"Wanted? Heros? haha, look ma! im famous!" I said sarcastically

"Nice to meet ya Jan." I muttered, "You ok?" I asked as the guy went a bit tippy.

"Yeah, yeah... My sweet tooth goes a bit beyond the norm, if you catch my drift."

I rested my head on the booth, waiting for the milkshake to come.

"The fact that you're known and I'm not gives me both professional satisfaction, and a bit of annoyance... Maybe I'm too young."

"Yeah."

I rested back in the booth, "I wouldn't say i'm known." I said, being completely honest, "Its the Novas people know. Cross, the prominent guys, not me."

"Maybe. It's possibly just because my computer is pretty strong."

For some reason, my milkshake still hadn't arrived. Damn.

"Hey, Mit, d'you have any candy on you? Kind of need the sugar."

"Huh? Candy?" I asked, jerked out of my thoughts.

"Oh yeah, I might." I said and opened the deep pockets of my coat, dug around in them for a moment, "Here." I said and slid a candy bar across the booth.

"Pretty slow service today." I muttered.

Melissa sighed as she sat on the barstool and sipped at the chocolate milkshake she had ordered. The only reason she was on Corellia and not Fondor, where she usually lived, was because her father, a high ranking officer in the Omega Pyre, was at a intelligence meeting. He had dropped her off here and had given her one hundred and fifty credits and told her to call him in three hours. To put it lightly, she was a bit angry with her father, the little time being spent together and the fact that it seemed like every other week he had a mission, she just wanted to spend some quality time with her father. Sighing because she knew that was nigh impossible, she took a sip from her drink and surveyed the bar.

I sighed a little contentedly as the sugar hit from the candy bar started going through my bloodstream.

"Thanks. They're really taking a long time, today. I guess that..."

I counted the number of people in the room real quick.

"... eight people are more than they can take. I mean, I'm usually alone here, or there might be a couple other people, but never this many."

"Surprised at how busy this place is..." I glanced around.

"Normally theres only two or three people in here, ive never seen this many." I looked at the guy as he mirrored my exact thoughts, shrugged it off, and went back to reading all the advertisements inside the shop.

Great! A couple of rich spoiled jerks walk into the parlor and ruin the whole atmosphere for everyone. How insensitive to walk in a flaunt their credits when there was a girl by the door who clealry needed more food than she ordered. Why did these two jerks want their table to shut up anyway. Had they been polite enough to get their noses out of the air long enough they would have realized the group was not bickering, but rather having fun and celebrating a win. Yes, JJ had lost a bet to [member="Sasha Voss"], but any complaining about had been under his breath. Twisters was a great place, but sometimes certain people ruined the fun atmosphere it provided. That's why everyone else was getting their orders first, including the doubled up portions.

"Hey, can you wrap that up to go please. There is someone that it needs it more than I do," JJ said when his nerf burger combo came.

It's just how JJ was. Corellian, yes, but there was that half Telosian in him too which came from his father. Not that it was why he was so well mannered. Both of his parents had taught him to be generous and to think of others before he thought of himself. If someone was in need, and JJ was in a position to help, he did. Just because Corellians had a certain reputaion didn't mean they didn't know how to have manners and help people in need. Perhaps it was the fact he was being rasied as a Jedi, but JJ never missed someone in need. He couldn't always help, but he always noticed it.

"Let's get out of here guys, all of a sudden I've lost the desire to hang out here. Maybe that girl by the door there, and the one that just came in might want see something different. There's always the cliff just above the swimming hole in the park there. When's the last time we had a nice day like this to just bum around the park and do some cliff jumping huh?"

There was the Corellian in him. Good thing he knew about the cliff. It was difficult to get to, but not impossible, especially for a Jedi, but even if one didn't have the force they could still make it. Was his idea a bit imprmptu, yes, but something, anything to get away from the guys who were just throwing their credits around like they had it to waste.
