IC Structure

The structure of the Sith Empire is something not yet defined. I see several threads explaining some of it, but it's bare bones at the minimum.

There are tons of examples from canon on what exactly we can do with the Empire. The most obvious, from SWTOR, is that it's ruled by a Dark Council of several Sith Masters with an Emperor not paying much attention to the state.

There's also the question of how to structure the ministries non-Force users would be a part of. SWTOR, again, provides some decent examples of what ministries to have and how non-Force users function within them. They also show the relationship between Sith and these non-Force users.

Any comments on what the IC structure of the Sith Empire should be are welcomed.

I'm a big fan of having the idea of a Sith Triumvirate. Three very powerful Sith Masters lead the faction ICly with a council of Masters and respected Knights sitting beneath them to advise them.

How many player characters, if any, should be on it?

Or, who would want their character to be on the Dark Council, to be exact?

Anyone beside Moridin want a triumvirate, though?

Also, Kaine, what ideas for the non-Force user political and military structure do you have?

I would be interested in the Triumvirate HOWEVER I probably wouldn't stand a chance in the elections, haha. I would like to see the Triumvirate rule because it is an interesting concept not tried before but if we decide not to do that I would like to be on the Dark Council.

I'm fine with whichever idea you decide to go with in the end, though the Triumvirate might be more interesting.

The Dark Council is the safer, or at least better known option. Anyway, I'm cool with anything. :)

Here's my idea for Non-force sensitive ranks:

Imperial Intelligence Ranks
Minister of Intelligence: Leader of Imperial Intelligence and one of the highest positions a non-force sensitive can achieve.
Keepers: Majordomos to the Minister, and who publicly 'lead' Imperial Intelligence and hash out assignments to operatives.
Watchers: A class of Operative that deals with organizing and processing and analyzing data.
Fixer: A class of Operative that deals with slicing, engineering, and biomechanics.
Minder: A class of Operative that deals with internal security, and makes sure connections and encryptions are up to date and constantly air-tight.
Cipher: A class of Operatives that deal with assassinations, sabotage and infiltration.
Operative: The most basic of Intelligence agent, who deals with espionage and information gathering.

Military (Army) Ranks
High General: Leader of the Imperial Army, and another one of the highest positions a non-force sensitive can achieve.
General: The Generals of the Army, who lead mass amounts of soldiers into battle.
Brigadier: Senior of the Imperial Army, second to a General.
Colonel: Lower than a Brigadier, higher than a Major in rank and authority.
Major: Self-explanatory.
Captain: Self-explanatory.
Lieutenant: Self-explanatory.
Warrant Officer: Self-explanatory.
Staff Sergeant: Self-explanatory.
Sergeant: Self-explanatory.
Corporal: Self-explanatory.
Lance Corporal: Self-explanatory.
Private: Lowest of the lowest scum.

Military (Navy) Ranks
Grand Admiral: Leader of the Imperial Navy, and the last of the highest ranks a non-force sensitive can achieve.
Admiral: Second to the Grand Admiral, oversees some of the largest sections of the Sith Armada.
Vice Admiral: Second to the Admiral.
Rear Admiral: Self-explanatory.
Commodore: Self-explanatory.
Captain: Self-explanatory.
Commander: Self-explanatory.
Lieutenant Commander: Self-explanatory.
Lieutenant: Self-explanatory.
Officer Cadet: Self-explanatory.
Cadet: Self-explanatory.
Seaman: Self-explanatory.

^ im okay with those. I dont think theyll ever all fill up but it'll be good to have them i think.

We could probably lose some of the middle ranks. As Moridin said, they'll probably never all fill up an' all, so having a simpler hierarchy might appeal to more people. Just my opinion, tho :)

More variety of jobs, in my opinion. Give something unique for each character. Kaine's list is pretty standard and fine in my opinion. I'll try to get a list later of similar ranks for everyone to look at.

Sith naturally have few ranks, yet there are lots of titles available to create through role-play (aka, blade master, governors, darkest knight).

Okay so i suppose no one brought up any alternatives then the IC structure is decided.

Warriors/Assassins-Pillar of Strength: Moridin
Sorcerer's/Alchemists-Pillar of ____(name it yourself): Disciple
Archivists/politicians/Intelligence-Pillar of____(name it yourself): Voracitos

These three shall be the ultimate authority for TSE, whatever they say goes. Below them Sits a council of Masters that "advise" them but are really constantly plotting to kill one of the three and thus ascend to that position, below the council sit Sith Knights in a neat little group that plot to kill those on the council and ascend to master, and below the Knights are Apprentices who just crave everything. This sound good to everyone?

I don't think a lack of alternatives means people accept what was proposed. In fact I don't think anyone really accepted the proposal. OOC it really doesn't matter to me. IC I think it's rather clear that more of a basis for authority/strength/whatever needs to be established than just saying "K yeah I control all of these people". You can make the claim IC of course...but when it doesn't work...well...it doesn't work.

And I don't think we can artificially force people to accept anybody as much of anything other than what they've earned. Just playing devil's advocate here.

Aye, i know what you mean. But some sort of structure needs to be put in place. i was asking from an OOC perspective. I was planning on running a few threads in the future where we really flesh it out and force people into line.
