Private Idle Hands

The galaxy was a harsh place. And at times, even the best intentions could come crumbling down. Jacen and Coren had seen that first hand. There had been many problems with the Alliance when they were in charge, but for what they needed? It was done well, it accomplished a goal. But Jacen was among the men Coren would trust his life to. And if he was bringing someone else into this little group? He would trust Jacen’s decision.

Looking from the Voidstalker to the woman, Serya, he nodded. Orange eyes, could it be a Talith? He remembered Micah and the others, really good at imbuement, an…industrious bunch. Kaia knew them better but Coren knew most of the Jedi who came through.

“Welcome Seyra.” He smiled as he turned back to Jacen with a nod and motioned to the ship around them. “A gift from the Ven family, you remember the Supreme Commander Nemo Ven. Pulled his family off of Mon Cala when the Sith came calling. This, this is the Oasis. A home away from home for the Jedi who are finding where they belong.”

"We're not jedi," came Serya's immediate response, an edge to her tone that made the title seem unwelcome. Dangerous.

The vehemence of her statement caught him off guard. Jacen cast her a sideways glance before looking to Coren.

"I was a jedi," he said. He was both connecting himself to the order, whilst drawing a line between him and it for Serya's benefit.

"Nemo Ven was part of the triumvirate," he said to Serya. "Military, Jedi and politicians put forward one person each to plan the war."

"What have you been upto?" he asked Coren.

Not Jedi, he nodded. Looking at Jacen. “That one was. And knowing Jacen, I feel he probably doesn’t stray too far from the path of the Jedi. But that’s just semantics.” He waved a hand. “I don’t sense darkness in either of you.” A skill he was adept at, to say the least. The Master gave them both the once over and nodded.

“Well, I was serving, however briefly, as the Grandmaster of the Silver Order. Then they made a decision to side along the Sith. And, as you can imagine, I took that personally.” The Sith had destroyed the first Galactic Alliance. “Now I serve on their Masters Circle, with a focus on being an archivist, and securing relics of the past.” He lead them out of the hangar as he spoke and once in the lift.

“But I’m working on providing a place for Jedi that are along the fringes but still want to jump into the fray. Or Jedi who are thinking about working beyond their Master’s advice.” He gave a grin.

“The real question, is what brought you two here.”

"Even for the Silver Jedi..." he sighed. His opinion of them was coloured by the past, from when they hadn't fully joined the fight back. Some certainly had, great warriors like Thurion Heavenshield.

Jacen also had to look back at his younger self. Had taking the fight to the sith helped? Maybe they had been right and he had been wrong. Siding with the sith, however, he could not ever see justified.

"Need to make sure that relics are secured," he said with all seriousness. That being despite the fact that Serya had just stuffed the Great Holocron into a draw on his ship. Please don't give that one away, he thought silently.

"I'm sure Serya isn't thinking about working beyond her master's advice just yet..." he chuckled, giving her a sidelong glance. "However I think it's worth her meeting other teachers. And Coren I haven't...well I haven't exactly got many friends left."
