Idle Hands

Klantooine was a boring place and Balaya was taking her time with it. She walked with Elara who was just as bored but there were here for a purpose... one of great need. Or at least one that would allow her to test her abilities an move forward with her goals. Creating soemthing small to make way for something larger, more dangerous and full of greater risk. She starred in awe though seeing the shimmering glare in the distance. The fountain while walking closer and speaking to Elara.

"Now you see, there is something on this world worth getting, that waters that harden only appear here, they are in the very soil, in the food and no one really knows why but the glass like material is harder then anyone can imagine. Sabers have never tried to slice deeply into it my apprentice." The girl looked up while Balaya adjusted the blade she was holding to full power and had her own. "We'll have to work to harvest as much as we can and then be ready. This will take time and work to properly construct."

Darth Banshee had never been to klantooine before, it was quite dull to be honest. It was almost a desert world, apart from the odd savannas. She was here to help [member="Darth Praelior"] and her apprentice, harvest some the crystals here. She was unsure of the best method to do this, so she waited for instruction on how best to do this. She new the sith lord would a plan, and it was her duty to follow it.
After she explained everything to balaya, she looked at the lord and then asked So how should we proceed, extracting what you need?

[member="Darth Banshee"]

Balaya looked at Banshee and had a grin on her face while she was moving towards it now, the fountain was still spewing out the liquid that slowly become a glass like shimmering substance. Slowly streaming down and coating the fountain as it made the images and Balaya touched it and drew her hand back looking at it. The material got stronger with age and better as time went on but that meant you had to get it just right. She looked at Elara and drew a saber activating it with a snap hiss as she sliced into the mound. "Elara slice deeply we want to get the blade down as deep as we can and take it out. Several hundred years worth of the materials will prove the most useful." She was slicing the blade in now and speaking. "Banshee start slicing down as deeply as you can and meet me, the older the waters the stronger it gets to the point it will be nearly immune to sabers."

She nodded as [member="Darth Praelior"], gave her instruction on what to do. She moved towards the point she was told cut, and then lite up her violet lightsaber. Then span it round, and plunged it into the ground all way to the hilt. She could feel the heat off the ground, as began warm up with the heat the blade. She then moved slowly towards the sith lord, she could feel the resistance in the ground as she cut through.

The heat it self began to make some of sand it self, turn to glass. Some sand crystals also exploded with the heat lightsaber. Though it mattered not, she continued to cut forward towards the sith lord.

I wasn't sure what exactly to do... It wasn't like my electrostaff, even being phrik, could actually cut through the stuff. I turned to [member="Darth Praelior"] and [member="Darth Banshee"] and asked "Should I pick it up? The heat won't bother me in this body."

[member="Bond"] [member="Darth Banshee"]

Balaya continued to slice through and moved slowly at Elara slowly got her blade in deep. Moving so the large portion was being cut she activated a second saber and plunged it in. Slicing deep down so they would have a square chunk. The glassy matrial on the top melting but now it slowly glowed with the red and violet of the blade on high intensity. She looked to the other looked upt o the one offering to lift. "Not yet, make sure the men with the sled are ready and be ready to lift." She met Banshee after several minutes of slicing letting the blades hum. "Do either of you know how to shape water that can hardens to be stronger and lighter then beskar?" She was chuckling now to that.

Darth Banshee replied to [member="Bond"], No it still fry you, we need machines to do it. She turned to answer [member="Darth Praelior"], No. She then clarified it, with a further statement I never even heard of this, before know. As she spoke, she realized the heat the sand was know starting to give her a tan on her hands. She wonder what plan the sith lord had for this, hardened water once she got it. So she asked, What are you going to do with this, once we harvested it? She new the sith lord did not have to revel her intent, but curiosity was one her down falls.

Water that could be harder then beskar? It had to be a joke. If it wasn't.... I'd have to take some to make my lightsaber. Or maybe even upgrade my armor plating. Let's see a Jedi fight me, then!

Anyway, I turned to [member="Darth Praelior"] and [member="Darth Banshee"]. "No, I've never heard of water that solidifies into such a structure. It'd make my armor nearly impenetrable, my lightsaber as immortal as myself. It would make us invincible. But how long does it take to solidify into its alloy structure?"

[member="Bond"] [member="Darth Banshee"]

That was the trick as she withdrew the sabers, deactrivating them and looked at the sled coming. Balaya moved touching the sides of the chunk as she spoke setting the wires down deep to commend and peeling the layer of it off. "It isn't well known, most don't look at the unique properties of worlds, to interested in the simple and easier to find things but I have found some materials that serve a greater purpose. As the years go on each layer gets progressively harder but it is like peeling an onion. One layer as a time thing and dangerous. We have thousands of layers here to use and with the proper tool we can fashion some armor pieces. Or weapons, or in the case of my apprentice a new hand as he sliced his own off." She was chuckling to that as the six by six rectangle rose from the fountain and she touched the sides. Letting her finger tap each layer upon layer.

Darth Banshee listened to the sith lord as she spoke, about how to peel it. She wonder what the dangers where in peeling it, and if they would be inherent in any danger in using the items. The sith lord then rose a of it layer out the ground, it was rectangular in shape. She then started touching it as span. She then wonder why her apprentice cut of their hand, and what drove them to it. This was some thing she was not going to ask, as she might decide to show her.

The crystallized water it self was actually quite beautiful to look at, especially how the sun reflected of it and through it. It kinda like a shimmering rainbow, with all the different colours in their. She then looked at the sith lord, and asked So what tools, do you use to shape it? She was curious on this point, as beskar and phrik required highly specialized tools and trained crafts men. To forge them metals, this was though and lighter so tools and the training for it would be harder to come by.

What kind of tool could peel something so hard? If the crystal was really that volatile, then using a lightsaber might literally blow up in our faces. I heard [member="Darth Banshee"] say something similar, and then I asked [member="Darth Praelior"] "How can we get it off the deposits if it's that volatile?"

[member="Bond"] [member="Darth Banshee"]

Balaya looked at them and loading it upon the sled spoke. "Heat, sabers don't produce enough to slice it that is why it can resist and become immune to cutting. With enough over an area you can make it briefly malliable, formable. The Sith used methods and documented them long ago when they took this world in their text and grimores." She looked at the rest of the fountain. "We'll make use of what we have and with age it will get stronger, impractical for making victory now but with time it could become something powerful to create armors and droids." Now she looked at the two and moved as in the distance on her datapad the alchemist ship appeared coming to them. "There is a machine shop and everything needed to shape the glass on my ship."

Now I was wondering whether or not my plan to start building my lightsaber here was going to work or not. The alloy was apparently malleable enough, but would it work well as a hilt? I turned back to [member="Darth Praelior"]

"Will I be able to forge my lightsaber out of this alloy? It's durable enough, but will it react badly to repeated contact with my Shard crystals?"

I still was carrying the dead bodies of my grandparents, hoping to use them as the focus for my lightsaber, but I didn't want the weapon to blow up in my face just because I was picky about the materials.

Darth Banshee nodded her head as, [member="Darth Praelior"] explained how it was to be shaped. She then heard the acolyte [member="Bond"] speak, she was interested in that, but for her that could wait for another time. She quite happily watch the water crystal become annealed, and then worked into shape. She also wonder if this process during the cooling stages would work harden it.

Though she have to wait till she see`s the process, to work it out.

She thought about it, a saber hilt wouldn't or at least shouldn't be two hard. THe right amount of work to make a cylinder and get the right parts. It would just be the casing not the internal components. She didn't see a problem while moving off towards the ship and laughing a little. "That should not be a prolem, the casing for a saber can be nearly any material in the galaxy and not interfere with the blade." Then she was looking at Banshee as they reached the ship and Balaya brought it into the machine shop off the entrance ramp. The torches and furnaces from the lab going up while she brought the piece in. "Do either of you know how to work materials with Alchemy?"

I really didn't know how to shape anything with alchemy, and I remembered saying as much to [member="Darth Praelior"], but she was so excited, that I simply shrugged and repeated myself.

"I can shape normal alloys, but I really don't know how to use alchemy. Not part of basic training, apparently."

[member="Darth Banshee"]

No my master, [member="Darth Veles"] has never showed me the way of alchemy. Darth Banshee replied to [member="Darth Praelior"] question, he had tutored in a lot skills of stealth, though she sort other masters in art of killing. Crush she was showed two different methods, and she had to find another master to teach her bellows. This how ever would be her first exposure to sith alchemy, she was looking forward to it. Though she new some went to deep into it for anyone`s good. Though making a new hand seem, a reasonable task to under take. It appeared the droid though, had some metallurgy skill of his own. Though she doubted it would compare, to sith lords skill in this area.

Balaya continued to focus on the shape and on the equipment around the shop. Her armor coming off from workers in some area's so she stood tall in a bodysuit. The torch started cutting into the glass near the middle to get some sections. Paying attention to the others while she started bringing out some desh alloy and making small parts of it with cybernetic sections. "Now what would you both like from this?" She was preparing for more parts and focusing her energies into the glass to bend and twist it, to make her power give shape to weapons of power. Some blood added to it would allow her to shape it into nearly anything they wanted.

Darth Bansee and asked, Could you make a mask, for me out of it? She was interested, in learning to dive, and wanted to make some armour for it. That way she could accompany [member="Darth Veles"] on mission under the sea. Plus she could see a few other places where it may be of use. She also liked the idea of swimming with sharks and dolphins.

She then looked [member="Darth Praelior"] and [member="Bond"], to see what he wanted.
