If I Were Wrong, I'd Know It

Elayne watched from the corner of her eye, seeing Mirien and Sumiko slip off to the security center. Or so the plan went. Hopefully they'd have some luck finding something out about who, and where Elanil had been taken.

The redhead nodded in reply to the man. "Well, thank you. You've been quite helpful, sir." Elayne said before walking on. She at least had a general idea of where her sister had gone at this point. Corridor G-6.

It was then that another being approached. The same very annoying scientist that had irritated Elanil the day before. He came up to Elayne and lightly touched her arm. She jumped a little startled. "Excuse me, you're Dr. Saedaris, aren't you?" He asked. To be frank, Elayne didn't know how to respond. There was no way she could fool anyone scientific into thinking she was actually her twin.

Still she had little option but to run with it. "Yes, yes I am. Can I help you?" There was something that was a little off about him that Elayne couldn't quite put her finger on just yet.

"Oh, well ... We missed you at your lecture yesterday. Someone mentioned you were ill. I do hope you are better now."

"I'm fine, now. Thank you." She said politely.

"Well, now to my point I was wondering if I might steal you away to look at my paper." He still had his hand on her arm and started trying to steer her a bit to a new location. Elayne certainly wasn't liking were this was going. Something definitely was off. And him still having a grip on her arm she definitely did not like.

"I'm afraid I don't have time. Sorry." She replied quickly while attempting to pull away. It was then she realized what was wrong. Metal, she could sense it, feel it. Her eyes narrowed and without hesitation Elayne drew upon her powers and sent the man flying. "HRD!" She said quickly, to let Kaida in on what was going on.

Suddenly action! And kill bots! Well, one of them.

Kaida did not excel at Force Sense and would not be able to sense the metal inside the 'scientist'. Thus she was unable to pinpoint the man's nature and was left with a feeling that something was odd. She was about to say something and tell him to bugger off when he took Elayne by the arm, then the redhead sent him flying.

"HRD!"

That was all she needed to know. There was a loud thud when the robot slammed into the wall with enough force to dent it. When he arose, his face had been damaged by the impact. Synthflesh had been splintered or blown away, revealing pieces of metal beneath. One of his eyes glowed briefly. Quickly the Seraph acted and drew upon her power.

Droplets of moisture spread across his damaged body. In a flash she'd pulled out her ion blaster and squeezed the trigger, firing. Blue ion bolts impacted upon the machine while she flooded his mechanical limbs with water. Power cells malfunctioned, circuits exploded.

"What the hell? Cease fire. Everyone stand down," one of the power-armoured guards yelled while civilians panicked and ran away.

Suddenly his comm beeped. "Lieutenant, these are Dark Eldorai terrorists."

"Sir?"

"Shoot them!"

@Eyrecae Alzari
Overconfidence was a terrible thing. When you knew that your armour and internals protected you from most harm you were less likely to be cautious.
Similar to such ‘superheroes’ who walked through hails of bullets just because they could, Eyrecae was utterly confident in herself and her abilities.

With this in mind she walked into the hotel room without any concern. After some hot and heavy kissing the armour started to come off. Before the dreaded curtain of PG-13 could descend though, Alura produced a long stiletto knife and stabbed it into her heart. With a gasp she fell to the bed, eyes open.

Alura keyed her commlink. “The nanite commando has been disabled. Send two units to ensure she is secured.”

Now that this one can actually tag other people rather than themselves, this RP will be a bit better!

However, for reasons unknown except that this writer wants to play a role with a character they do not hate, the guards were suddenly interrupted.

“Stop! Stop, all of you!” a voice called. Dressed in her brown robes and with her hands raised, Jedi Master Phylis Alince stepped into the scene.

Kneeling down by the downed guard she looked between the Eldorai and the guards. “This guard is a replicant. He is not one of your comrades. Stand down, these people are not criminals.”

Reaching out with the Force though she detected that the downed HRD might not be the only one….

Elanil nodded. Truth be told she didn't feel any safer at all, but she just assumed that was because of what she'd been through. She glanced around feeling slightly unsure. Still feeling unsteady she grabbed onto Callisto to try and get support so she could walk on her own. "No, no... I'm fine." The redhead declared as she shakily took a few steps at a time. A little too proud to be carried at this point. "I can do it." Perhaps she was a little stubborn too.

Mirien just quietly let Sumiko take the lead. And for the moment that worked. So after terrifying a few employees they now had access to the data required to see just what ship Elanil had gotten on and who she was with precisely. Then there it was on the screen. "They would have logged a flight plan for it. Would have to not to raise eyebrows." She whispered. "They might have faked it, might not but it's a shot. And I do wonder if they have any other ships in the area that they've left behind. There might be clues in the navigation logs as to where they have been prior to here which might give us an idea as well."

Of course nothing could be perfect or go exactly as planned. Her attention was drawn to one of the other screens as she caught Elanil throwing the HRD into the wall. "Looks like trouble." Seems they still have HRDs in the area. Maybe we can grab one, and work out exactly where they took Elanil, pulling the data from them with your talents. She spoke telepathically to Sumiko.

For the time being, they were undisturbed. Obviously that could not last long. "Bringing it up," Sumiko said quietly, giving Mirien a nod. Some typing later, and the ship's flight plan appeared on the screen. However, before Sumiko had a chance to read it properly, though Mirien might have, she felt a tingle in the Force. Trouble was close. Her mechu-deru senses tingled when she perceived a guard conversing on a comm. HRDs are calling, she telepathically broadcast to Mirien. Suspiciously cold and efficient fellows in suits could be seen on the screen advancing down the corridor towards the security room.

"Ma'am, you must come with us. Drop your weapons, put your hands where I can see them and get up." She saw the bolt pistol being jabbed into her back even before the guard had done so. Several guards had likewise pulled their weapons and were aiming at them.

"Alright," she said calmly, slowly getting to her feet. The guards would see her slowly drop a blaster pistol. It would be so realistic that they even heard the clattering sound when it hit the ground. They would also see her put her hands behind her head. The illusion would not allow them to see the smoke grenade suddenly be tossed into the centre of the room, casting it in a thick cloud of smoke.

The guard who'd wanted to cuff her would suddenly feel a strong surge of pain when she reached out and snapped his wrist as she twisted the gun from him. He had no time to react when she grabbed his head and it made contact with her rising foot, knocking him out. As the guards began firing their guns and the smoke slowly cleared, Sumiko vanished from sight.

Poor Elanil would feel a lot safer after she'd been upgraded. As a matter of fact, she would be incapable of feeling fear or anxiety. Nor would she stand in the shadow of the Sciians who dominated her family. No, she would finally achieve the recognition she deserved. Unfortunately, they had to keep her organic for a bit longer in order to harvest her eggs. Archangel had already 'acquired' a male scientist whose intellect and genes were suitable enough to make him an appropriate sperm donor. Why bother with something so messy as coitus when you could create a petri dish baby?

In any case, Callisto saw Elanil's stubbornness for what it was, but relented. Best to give the organic a small victory, since it might make her slightly more cooperative. Or she'd suffer an accident and realise how much she needed Archangel.

So they proceeded out of the medbay and eventually disembarked from the ship, with Callisto helping Elanil along the way. From the large, spacious hangar bay their path would take them down a long, sterile white corridor and to a turbolift, which would go on a long descent. Eventually it would come to a halt and Callisto would guide Elanil to her room.

The room was actually rather nice, with a big, comfortable bed, flowers, an expensive looking carpet, holovision and a comm system. Archangel had also taken the time to acquire a number of books they were certain Elanil would appreciate. Obviously there was also a refresher and a toilet, and the room was bugged. HRDs were on patrol in the corridor leading to it. Solely for Elanil's protection, of course.

And in a heartbeat Elayne saw the ice spread across the droid, ending it's little electrical life so quickly when Kaida threw in the ion bolts. Her attention soon turned to the power-armored guards as they leveled their weapons towards the two Eldorai.

To her surprise a Jedi Master joined the scene. One that seemed vaguely familiar. Thankfully she brought some sense of order with the guards. Now she still had a feeling there were more out there.

"That isn't the only one. There are more." She said quickly, glancing around and trying to pick them out. "Could be anyone, so be careful!" Already she could sense more impending danger and a few civilians that seemed to linger suddenly drew weapons and approached to attack. "Well that makes it easier." Elayne reached out with a telekinetic grip to hold one of the droids. Then she worked to magnetically twist, mangle and destroy it's inner workings.

Phylis showed up, then there were even more HRDs! Seeing all the fighting, civilians scattered and fled...but not all. Several of them lingered and suddenly produced hidden weapons, approaching to attack. Conveniently, the human body was 75% water. So Kaida could sense them somewhat if she concentrated enough. "Alince, get the civilians away. The real ones." While Elayne pulled a Magneto to kill a bot through the power of magnetism, Kaida fired her heavy ion blaster.

Her Sciia heeded her command and guided her, strongly enhancing her aim and precision. A stream of blue bolts of ion energy impacted an HRD who until a few minutes ago had looked like an innocent soccer mom before she produced a gun. Sparks flew as the rounds impacted, damaging but not destroying the bot, then a telekinetic hammer slammed it into the ground. Quickly the HRD got up, proceeding implacably, but now that it was damaged she flooded its power circuits with water. Water and machinery did not go well together.

Then there was the sharp crack of a bolt pistol being fired when one of the guards revealed himself to be an HRD. Oh, that sucked a lot. Kaida knew how bolt weapons worked and that trying to deflect them was a bad idea. However, she didn't have the time to summon a protective shield and given the speed of the bolt dodging was not an option.

She drew upon her power to deflect it. Unfortunately, the bolt was more than metal and so when she hit it the molten metal inside burst out and sprayed across her face. Ouch. That sure hurt a lot. With a scream of pain she staggered back, the flecks of copper causing bloody burns across her face. Shrapnel sliced across her face and shoulder. Mechanically the droid fired again, but Kaida was fast enough to roll and avoid the round.

Her power crunched down upon the gun, filling it with water, twisting it and then making it blow up. The metal beneath the HRD's face and hand was revealed by the explosion. However, undeterred, he simply drew a vibrosword and charged her with superhuman speed. Her lightsabre ignited about fast enough to parry the blade away before he could behead her, but he kept on pushing like a mechanical battering ram. She turned a blow aside, but impact almost broke her arm. A feint to the mid-section followed by an aggressive swipe across the droid's leg damaged vital circuits, but did not stop it. As Kaida cartwheeled away to get some distance the droid kicked her hard and sent her crashing towards the wall. The Seraph managed to twist her body mid-flight in a blur and avoid colliding into it. Rather she slid across it and fell to the ground with a thud.

That hurt, too. Something had been broken. It was still better than breaking her skull. As the HRD advanced once again, suddenly ice spread across its body, encasing its limbs. The machine struggled, which resulted in it damaging itself even further. Realising what was happening it pulled a grenade to toss it before its hands were frozen, too, but as it pulled the pin it was turned into an ice statue. A moment later the ice and a good portion of the unit buried inside it broke when the still active grenade detonated. Boom. Pieces of ice, metal and electronic circuitry flew everywhere.

Guards were shooting on replicants, frightened civilians were running away, chaos reigned. Collateral damage ensued. Civilians who'd been unable to escape quickly enough now lay dead. Her body was a mass of pain, but she brought up her lightsabre to bat away blaster bolts being fired her way.

It was fortunate that Elanil was not aware of the plans. Not that she'd be in any position or had any skills to get herself out of the well guarded base.

Who needed sex for procreation when one had access to sperm, a healthy ovum and a petri dish! It was clean, and sanitary as it should be. Coitus the dirty messy act, who had time for that?!

Elanil leaned heavily on Callisto, determined to walk the whole way under her own power. The fact that she needed support to do so, was just a detail! She was totally walking on her own!

Coming into the room, it seemed quite lovely for someone like her. Sighing softly, she walked over to the bed and sat down slowly. Lightly she reached up, rubbing at her still sore neck. "Do we have any idea at all what was done to me?"

[member="Callisto Scarlett"]

Mirien nodded, just watching from behind Sumiko's shoulder. A sense of trouble coming started to rise in the back of her mind. Things certainly were about to get worse before they got better. And with the hairs rising on the back of her neck, she suspected sooner than later as she turned around to scan the room.

No sooner than she'd gotten turned around did the guard made her appearance. Fething A. This was not the way she wanted it to go. Her eyes moved to one of the screens, seeing the aftermath of what had happened outside with Kaida, Elayne and now Phylis.

Outnumbered, outgunned, things were about to get extremely messy, extremely fast. Mirien too disappeared from sight, quickly, easily and smoothly. It at least made it harder for them both to be targeted and shot. There hadn't been time to even get her own blaster from it's hiding place as everything unfolded. So she did the natural thing and fell back on her training. One of the attacking guards, she snuck up behind and quickly snapped his neck, ending his life so quickly as the body fell to the floor.

"Where are they?!" Shots were fired blindly trying to seek them out. And just as quickly, and from a different area of the room Mirien attacked again, drawing on the force to crush another's windpipe. Like shooting fish in a barrel... She mused to herself.

Suffice to say things had gone just a little FUBAR. Well, not quite. They were outnumbered, outgunned and HRDs were coming. Situation excellent! "I'm killing the lights." The words would brush against Mirien's mind, barely a whisper. Then suddenly every lamp in the room was abruptly off. The same applied to the computer monitors. Those that had not been destroyed by soldiers unloading salvoes of blaster fire. Shots were firing blindly, trying to seek them out. The darkness in the room was illuminated by flashes of blaster fire and tracer rounds.

There was a gasp of pain when Sumiko struck and cut a guard's throat. She was kind enough to severe all the arteries, so he died quickly, rather than drowning in a pool of his own blood. "Cease fire. They're invisible!" one guard barked loudly. Well, that made sense. Sumiko was already moving again, as blaster bolts whizzed past her. Alas, making an exit under the cloak of shadows would be more difficult than she would've liked.

Her mechu-deru senses tingled when more security suddenly showed up outside. These were HRDs! Then she felt a strong pain surge through her body when suddenly the Force was violently ripped from her. At the far end of the corridor stood an HRD masquerading as a security guard with a ysalamiri nutrient pack strapped to her back and a repeating blaster in hand. A blaster bolt sliced into Sumiko's knee, causing searing pain when her cloak was dropped. No precognitive warning from the Force, no preternatural reflexes to dodge. Simply white hot pain. The Atrisian slumped against the wall, just about managing to stand. Acting on instinct, she produced an EMP grenade and lobbed into the fray.

The explosion did not destroy the HRD, but the electrical shock killed the offending lizard. It cried out in horrible pain, then gave up the ghost. The return of the Force was accompanied by a strong surge of pain, but she was too pumped full with adrenaline to notice. Her crimson lightsabre flared to life just in time to parry aside blaster bolts, but she was finding herself backed into a corner.

A guard wielding a vibroblade charged her, then suddenly stopped dead in his track when he felt a will that was not his own grip his mind. He struggled when he felt alien thoughts burrowing themselves inside his mind like a parasite, eating away his resistance. Some of his comrades looked similarly dazed as their minds were invaded. Feelings of fear, paranoia and confusion flooded them, as she sought to bend their minds and will them to fire upon the droids. "I don't need an intact bot. Just a chip. Let's have the peons attack them."

Callisto's expression looked appropriately grave. Her tone was soft, concerned. "Our scientists believe you've been infected what they call the Revenant Virus. It's a dangerous, but slow-acting disease. The First Order used it on civilians on Eriadu. We think they exposed you to it to make you compliant. It's noncontagious."

She put a gentle, reassuring hand on Elanil's shoulder. "We will help you. Archangel is working around the clock to manufacture a cure." Of course, this meant they'd have to run lots of tests on Elanil.

“The real ones?” Phylis asked, frowning.
But then action happened! Elayne and Kaida disposed of droids…human replica droids. Suddenly the whole setup became clear to Phylis and her green bladed lightsabre flew to her hand.

Just in time.

Near to her, one of the guards turned to her, his regulation blaster weapon tracking to her. A quick sense of the guard revealed a subtle difference, a lack of the living Force deep within. In that moment her decision was made.

The blaster bolt spat at her, but her blade was already moving, parrying the bolt harmlessly. Many thought Soresu a defensive form, and indeed it was, but it could be potent when required. Up swept her blade and took the guard’s arm off at the elbow.
She was somewhat pleased to see there was no blood, but a sparking, electrical stump. The guard’s eyes narrowed, and his remaining hand drew a vibroblade to slash at the Jedi. Swiftly Phylis turned the blade aside and stabbed, the blade piercing the chest of the droid. With a final shudder, the HRD fell, its chest burned through to its power core.

This was not the end though. A civilian was raising a gun, firing. Reflex made Phylis act, blocking the attack…but this was no blaster bolt. Rather, as soon as her blade cleaved through the metal of the bolt it seemed to explode. Shrapnel scored across the Jedi Master, and molten copper lodged in her robe, setting it aflame.
Tearing off the robe with one hand whilst using the Force to leap backwards, she avoided a second bolt. Finally, she tore off the burning robe, scorching her hand, and dumped it to the ground. The droid was still advancing, and Phylis, only able to see from one eye, saw the bolt pistol being tracked towards her.
Calling on the Force, she shoved the HRD back and off balance, then leapt forward, her lightsabre again claiming the gun hand of her enemy. Before she could deliver a killing blow though, the droid rammed its severed, molten arm stump into Phylis’ side. With an anguished cry, Phylis severed the droid’s head with her lightsabre, finally victorious though her body was a mass of pain.

Fortunately, that seemed to be all for now.

Elanil's worry grew hearing what had made her ill. What they'd done to her.Though it didn't explain the soreness in her neck. Clearly they'd operated. "What about my neck? They cut into me." That much she was sure about. Else wise, surely the virus had just been injected. They'd had her for enough time to operate. Sedated her, kept her bound and unable to move. Surely they would have done it like that and not needed to operate.

Grabbing the pillow on the bed, she pulled it into her lap, just to cling to it. "I presume, fatal without treatment?" The scientist had to know how it was. She needed desperately to know for sure to make some kind of assessment of the situation.

[member="Callisto Scarlett"]

Elayne only sensed a twinge of danger behind her and spun on her heels to catch another HRD leveling a blaster with her. It got off a single shot as the redhead dived for the floor to avoid getting hit. Searing pain sliced into her thigh, drawing a hiss of pain from the Eldorai.

Rolling to her feet, she reached out with her Sciia clutching first the blaster, and crushing it. In the process it's hand exploded as what remained of the blaster did. It seemed undeterred as it drew a vibroblade on her. It might be said that Elayne was a tiny bit pissed by this point. Telekineticly she pushed it back, forcefully gaining some distance as she focused once more magnetically gripping the droid before ripping it in two.

And so two more HRDs went down. She looked to her injured teammates, and her eyes wandered to Phylis. Without her robe, even in the state she was in, she couldn't help but grin. "Well now, I think stripping could be in your future master Jedi. So lovely." A small lighthearted moment among the seriousness of the situation.

It was probably fortunate that Siobhan wasn't there when Phylis finally got out of her robes. For her part, Kaida was far too straight-laced and focused on her job to make corny innuendo. At this point the hall had been turned into a big battlefield.

Corpses of guards and unfortunate civilians lay strewn across the ground, along with the wrecks of HRDs. Blood coated the floor, the walls had been perforated with bullet holes and blaster impacts. Here and there, explosives had left their mark. All in all, it looked like something out of a third world country.

"Behind you!" The wailing cry of the frightened looking little girl, who was clutching a teddy bear, was so genuine that Kaida almost spun around to engage whatever kill bot might've been sneaking up on her. But then in a flash her eyes narrowed and she swiftly she severed the kid's head with a sweep of her yellow lightsabre. The faux child's eyes suddenly glowed crimson and it twitched, then it fell, its head tumbling to the ground. However, the machine with the face of a child had left Kaida a present in form of a frag grenade that tumbled out of her tiny hand towards Kaida's feet right before the droid gave up the ghost.

Her danger senses tingled. Too late for Kaida to leap away and she didn't have the speed after the beating she'd taken earlier. The only option left was a makeshift protection bubble as she willed her Sciia to quickly wrap itself around her in a cocoon. The grenade exploded not a moment too late and the Seraph was blown away by the force of the shockwave. The bubble saved her from being blown up and decorating the place with her innards and pieces of flesh.

It did not prevent lacerations from shrapnel, including one chunk lodging itself in her thigh and that luckily avoided cutting a major artery and ending her life. She was bleeding and her eyes were blurry when she looked up from the ground. Spikes of pain shot through her legs when she tried to rise. Panting, she sought to call upon her powers to stem the bleeding a bit, combating the heat with biting coldness. She bit down hard on her tongue when she pulled a shard of shrapnel out. Ice spread over the thigh wound. But there was no reprieve as another HRD moved to engage.

Kaida rolled painfully when blaster bolts came her way. Somehow her lightsabre had vanished during the explosion earlier. Gathering all the ice lying around she fashioned it into a makeshift barrier and sent it hurtling towards the droid, intercepting bolts whilst using it as an improvised projectile.

Blaster bolts sliced through the ice and the droid was canny enough to avoid the battering ram by suddenly changing course and running up and along the wall with superhuman speed, firing as she went whilst Kaida responded with a barrage of ion bolts and super fast icicles. Some impacted and struck the machine in crucial areas, but she persisted.

Then she was upon Kaida. The frost elf was lucky enough to dive away so that the droid did not ram her, but when she tried to strike with a telekinetic blast the droid kicked her leg and then grabbed her by throat, lifting her up. Things seemed to turn dark when she was held in an iron grip as strong as a Dark Lord's Force Choke and she felt her windpipe being crushed. She felt the oxygen unable to reach her lungs and was gasping for breath, then ice spread rapidly across the droid's hand, encasing it. First nothing happened, then the machine's fingers simply shattered and Kaida fell to the ground and drove a hypervelocity ice spike through the droid's chest right into its power core. Sparks flew and the droid twitched strongly, then collapsed to the ground with a loud thud.

Finally the battle was over. "Talon Saedaris...your behaviour is completely inappropriate." Yes, Kaida had to lecture her oversexed subordinate in a moment like this. When the Seraph was struggling to remain conscious.
