If the Sith Empire disbands, what do the Jedi do?

After all the clean up and dominioning of the Sith planets, what will we do around the galaxy? This is a discussion to see what everyone would be interested in seeing the Jedi focus on next.

Personally, I think it would be interesting to see the Order being to work separately from the Republic, acting more as a close ally than a direct part of their government. This has been brought up before, but is usually shot down because it would leave the Republic with very little members left. I still think it would be a great story element to see them pull away from a more militaristic way of running things. After all, if there's peace time, the Jedi don't need it be soldiers anyway. If the Republic gets thrown into war again, then sure the Jedi would come to their aid, but the downfall of the Sith Empire would really give them time to reexamine themselves and find a new path.

That's just my opinion, but if you think differently feel free to chime in about the subject. A lot can change without the Empire looming over our shoulder all the time. This could possibly bring on a new era on the board so I'm excited! Of course the Sith probably won't be gone for long, but a more subtle, mysterious Sith Order could be very interesting.

No more military what so ever. Our sight needs more real Jedi. There are so many Jedi who fight like Sith and allow themselves to be governed by their emotions that I don't know which side I write for half the time. That's one of the main reasons I get fed up and stop writing all together.

This has been discussed and was even being tried when the Republic was faltering. The problem is as you said there isn't enough Republic members to keep it going and that is also the same reason why the jedi are filling the roles of soldiers. If we didn't the invasions would never happen and it would be just a few pc's using npcs which as has been established PC>NPC. With the downfall of the sith and dominioning of some planets, there was an actual plan and this was supposed to be going on for a while still. We're working on what will happen between the next event coming and everything else a few things might change.

No matter what though unless the Republic gets a lot of dedicated members the jedi won't be breaking away or pulling back from it. They are in the faction to stay because otherwise it would and could crumble. There will most likely be a lull though as someone will step up and try to become the bad guys of the board, or it will become more about the Republic having more emphasis and influence. We're working with most other factions, we're friendly with them even our battle was with the sith.

Bro. You can't tell other people how to play the game. If the Faction Admins don't kick them out of the Faction? All you can do is grin and bear it. It's an RP. There is no accounting for taste. Lol.

I think it would be interesting to see if any of the Sith writers would be interested to come over into the Republic and begin a bit of corrupting al la Palpatine, and have the Republic start to evolve away from it's democratic roots. You could start to build the Republic up with some shady politicians and mercenaries and being to start a rift between the Jedi and the government that they had sworn to protect. Eventually, the Republic government could being to estrange the populous to the Jedi. Making them look like a bunch of holier than thou mystics who think that they are better than everyone. Then there could either be a coup against the Jedi or they could drop out of the Republic, no longer recognizing the government they had fought for. Either way it creates conflict and drives the Jedi and the Republic in new directions, and could possibly give some laid off Sith a new line of work.

You uhh... You remember that whole 'Senate' thing right? Cause, that really didn't go over so well.

How about? Rather than letting Sith participate OOC in a 'Good Guy' Faction? We just ask them to participate IC in cool plots and threads? Everybody wins and there is no Meta-gaming OOC antics this time. *wink*

The senate thing was one of the reasons why the faction was hurting and why one of the first things done was strict regulations on senate bills.

We can't tell jedi to act a certain way or people to rp this way and that, the majority of jedi are acting like the jedi we are closest to. We are the new jedi order and they were built on angsty teenagers as a foundation.

Jay is right and there are plans Talia for more story based things with the sith going underground and plotting. When they make their return it will be something to see.

Of course I'm just throwing ideas off the top of my head . I just think it would be very fun to see something that really flipped the tables and changed things up a bit, and I am looking forward for the Sith's return .

I agree with @Selena Halcyon. There are other factions besides the Sith to worry about. The Lords of the Fringe. The Galatic Empire. Heck even the Black Suns could be a problem. Sith Empire may be gone but there's plenty evil out there for the Republic and the Jedi to fight.
