APPEARANCE
IG-65A’s appearance is fairly typical of the IG Series of Droids down to the classical Gray and worn Bronze plating. The only difference is that Alpha shows very clear wear and tear as well as a less than professional repair effort with some visibly sub-standard components being used to get him up and running again.
Like nearly all IG-Series Droids he is extremely tall, 2 meters in height, apparently slender but with battle-grade plating and a cylinder shaped head with sensors on all sides. His hands have a limited transformation ability to utilise built in features such as a blaster cannon, cutting laser etc.
PERSONALITY
IG-65 is a rather unpleasant individual to deal with. He’s arrogant and overly self-confident, openly believes organics to be inferior to droids and is extremely judgemental of others mistakes while often refusing to see his own. Alpha can be quite sarcastic and mocking although his tone retains it’s usual flatness.
BACKGROUND
IG-65 is unaware of anything prior to his activation two years ago, in fact he’s unaware of if IG-65A is even his real designation as it was a best guess by the Slicer who reactivated him from the corrupted code in his base Operating System. Although due to his appearance being a definite IG Series, even if modified by whomever previously owned or created him, he is happy enough to simply use this designation.
Waking up in a rather crappy workshop on Taris is the first memory Alpha has followed by an excited young blue Twi’lek exclaiming her happiness that she had got him functioning. Despite being amnesic he was still offended to find out that she’d found his deactivated form lying in a scrapyard on the planet. For a short period of time he stayed as a bodyguard for the Twi’lek who called herself Xiann, who was the only organic he didn’t distrust, but later he began to visit the shadier parts of the undercity more and more being drawn to work as a Bounty Hunter. This role felt natural to the Droid and he was more than good at it, sometimes he took even less reputable jobs to simply assassinate an individual. Most of his work took place on Taris although 16 months after his activation he began to travel off-world.
When Xiann left Taris to work for the Black Sun IG-65 went with her. During this time he met with a Chiss whom the Engineer worked for directly and was occasionally hired by the Crime Boss for certain jobs. He has also worked alongside a Mandalorian mercenary on a number of occasions called Prince Wren whom he has developed a begrudging respect towards.
Alpha’s latest partner is a newly salvaged Droid called 5U-K5 whom IG-65 watched Xiann reactivate.The two, less than optimally functioning, Droids have found that they make a good team being able to tackle jobs that (they believe) organics would struggle to complete. In recent weeks IG-65 has found himself becoming more and more interested in the Criminal Underworld that he works for and has begun to wonder if he shouldn’t secure a place of authority for himself within this seedy community.
STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES
- Assassin Droid - Extremely Well Constructed Droid for Assassination or Battle.
- Hard to Surprise - 360 Degree Sight and Torso can turn independently of legs and head.
- Droid - Being Mechanical so no need to eat or drink, he is tireless so long as he is charged, is extremely strong and durable not to mention being able to function in all kinds of environments.
- Advanced Adaptive Intelligence - Can Process information at a blinding speed and learn from experiences.
- Skilled - Programmed with a wide array of useful skills for his profession.
- Heavily Armoured - Tough Blaster Armour Plating.
- Heavily Armed - Built in Armaments on top of carried weapons.
- Manual Repairs - Requires Maintenance and has to put himself in a state of vulnerability for more serious repairs.
- Non-Organic - Generally can’t fit in normal society due to not being considered a lifeform by most of the Galaxy.
- Limited Power - Alpha must deactivate for recharging from time to time. He is a particularly energy hungry model of Droid due to the various modifications.
- Damaged Programming - Alpha’s systems are still rebuilding his corrupted protocol libraries. As such he is not as skilled nor as knowledgeable as he should be. This also causes him to make foolish decisions at times due to faulty logical processes.
- Antisocial - Despite his protocol droid programming he has absolutely no social skills and is often openly offensive towards organics.
- Untrustworthy - Certain IG Models do have a tendency to betray anyone who tries to possess them.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Assassination Droid – First and foremost IG-65 is an assassin droid programmed with an entire library of techniques and skills that are useful for the evisceration of his targets with a wide array of weapons, tools and even mundane objects.
Adaptive Programming – Alpha’s coding is extremely advanced being able to evolve and expand with his experiences. He believes that once he was much more capable that he was but his memory loss has meant that he has lost all of these improvements. - Assassination Protocols – The main part of Alpha’s programming is around ways in which to deal death to his enemies. A side effect of this extensive knowledge makes him quite the skilled bodyguard. Curiously he has found an entire section of his programming is dedicated to the more efficient way to kill Force Users.
- Battle Protocols – Although not his main function he is quite capable of performing as a combat droid when necessary. These appear to be a later addition being added to the droid’s repertoire after his initial construction. They appear to be based on BX-Series Droid Commando] protocols enchanted by Alpha’s ability to learn.
- Pilot Protocols – Similar to the programming used by the OOM Pilot Batle Droid, this allows Alpha to pilot various forms of space and atmospheric craft. He is currently only competent but improves with every experience.
- Protocol Protocols – Programmed with a standard language database and an etiquette & protocol databank. This code is a heavily modified variant of the programming used by the 3PO Unit
- Self-Preservation Protocols – IG-65A is programmed to protect his own existence meaning he can not Self-Terminate. It also means he can not carry out assignments which he knows will definitely cause his own destruction. These protocols take precedence over any other programming.
[*]Slicing Sub-Routines – The most recent of his additions added by the Twi’lek Slicer Xiann. His nature as a droid means that Alpha understands the nature of machines quite extensively. This portion of his programming is currently quite limited but will improve with time.
[*]Redundancy Systems - Alpha has backups built into both his physical design and his coding to help him continue to function even after severe damage. One such example of Alpha's abuse of this capability is storing a backup of his memory in a redundancy core so if anyone tries to perform a memory wipe then he'll simply restore from the backup at a later point.
