- [ Quality Design ] | The IL-41D is a top of the line multi-purpose interchangeable weapon system that performs well in all situations. It can still function without jamming in the presence of excessive heat and cold, dust, mud, or grime. The versatile base stock allows for multiple attachments to be equipped to it, effectively changing the weapon to suit the needs of the wielder on the battlefield.
- [ Advanced Heat Sinks ] | The heat sinks built into the IL-41D make it an exceptional weapon across all fire rates, but especially for full auto and burst modes. The heat sinks cool off the weapon to allow for it to maintain longer periods of extended fire without sacrificing aim stability or barrel integrity.
- [ Hotswap ] | The IL-41D, like its ancestor the DC-17M is capable of adding attachments to itself in a snap. All that's needed is a quick twist and lock to add the attachment and convert the IL-41D into a sniper configuration or a shotgun from a full auto rifle, the time it takes to reload the weapon and it's ready to go.
- [ Needs Calibrating ] | While the IL-41D is a relatively dependable weapon despite whatever condition it gets itself in, it does require periodic calibration and cleaning to maintain optimum effectiveness and efficiency.
- [ EM Sights ] | Though the IL-41D uses an electromagnetic targeting scope that allows for excellent medium to long range combat, the effects of Ion or EMP will effectively neutralize it for the time it is affected. The IL-41D has no iron sights to speak of, so the user must either be a very good judge of where their shots will go or be very lucky.
DESCRIPTION
The IL-41D Interchangeable Weapon System is a dependable weapon for use by the Sith Empire's elite troopers and numerous SpecOps divisions. Based on the tried and proven design of the DC-17M ICWS used during the Clone Wars, the IL-41D attempts to exceed its ancestor in every way by improving upon its design.
Starting from the base, the IL-41D is designed to function virtually jamming free regardless of the conditions it gets put in. It would require purposeful and extensive deliberate attempts in order to jam it. This allows users to operate in virtually any environment without needing to worry about the weapon jamming, though the IL-41D requires maintenance and calibration frequently.
Its compact design is slightly larger than that of the DC-17M it was based on. Users can fire it with one hand, though recoil and aim control will need to be taken into consideration. The fact that it was made as a maser rather than an Ion Pulse Blaster makes it particularly effective against organics, and especially lightsaber wielding force users as attempting to deflect a full auto or burst fire IL-41D would result in them being worn out and increase the likelihood of knocking their lightsabers out of hand. It is virtually superior to any standard issue blaster rifle in almost every regard.
Another notable aspect of the IL-41D is its extensive modularity. It is a weapon system designed to suit the needs of its user for almost any occasion that they may encounter with its numerous barrel attachments that effectively change its function. Its base [ARC] configuration does not require any barrel modification and has selective firing mode. It can be fired on full auto, burst, or single shot. Its Shotgun configuration effectively turns the IL-41D into a shotgun with a wide barrel attachment, effective at breaching and close quarter combat. The Sniper Configuration converts the IL-41D into a deadly long-range sniper with its extended barrel configuration. The Anti-Armor Grenade Launcher configuration is a powerful single shot mode that fires rounds that are designed to deal with heavily armored targets that detonate on impact fired from a hefty attachment to the underside of the IL-41D. Finally, there is the Pulsed Energy Projectile configuration that is designed to stun targets at close range.
Ammo capacities have been increased for a majority of these configurations, allowing for extended fire with fewer reloads. In order to compensate for heat build up while the weapon is going through extended periods of fire, an advanced heat sink cooling system was integrated around the barrel, dispersing heat build up at a rapid rate. This primarily affects the full auto and burst fire modes but helps with the sniper configuration by allowing the user to fire more frequently. A trained user of the IL-41D will typically never have to worry about their weapon overheating.
