In A Time Past, There was a Master...

Realizing his mistake, Zander lengthened his Force Cloak, sending it upward to cover his arm as well, then he spun. Bringing his saber in for yet another swift flurry of attacks, he sought once more to keep her off guard. The blows themselves were dangerous, so he doubted she would simply shrug them off, but he wasn't sure anymore. She was better than he remembered.

Now with his arm hopefully unable to be tracked, he again drew a powerful crack through the air, seeking to wrap the razor like weapon around the woman's neck.

She groaned as he cloaked his entire arm, so that was a thing. Either way she tried track it but the blows were too much for her to hold back and track it and she only stretched out with the force a moment too late as she saw it incoming and by the time she moved it cut across her cheek and drew blade that flew forward into Zanders face as she jumped away holding the wound. She wasn't mad though.. well emotionally wis as her sanity was still in question but she was actually smiling as she held the bleeding wound. "I think, you win."

Slowly lowering his weapons, Zander finally realized he was gasping for breath. The battle had only been a few moments long, but had required a large pull on his energy and concentration. But he had won. That was what counted.

"I won...?" He said softly, a small smile pulling at the corners of his lips. He knew now that he still had it in him to be a valued player in the galactic games of chess.

"So, what next? I need sustenance and a time to rest. Than I think we need to discuss what you feel I need next to reach knighthood." He said, each second or third word extended with a deep breath.

"You scratched me with a clever trick that i wont so easily fall for a second time while also attaining a rather substantial footing on you power wise as you can tell with how tired you are. But yes, you won if you want to put it that way... as for knighthood... perhaps, but i suggest when you bring it up next time you know if you are truly ready for it Zander. I may be soft, but i am not a Jedi and nor am I a Sith... im someone that can work through both roles with a purpose." She came over and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Why don't we get you something to eat though before you pass out on me." She had been too quick with students before, and she was not one to make that mistake once more, minna was Sith now, Hakora was gone, and Vieno was off doing his Jensaari thing. She had a good idea to hold off on promising or going quickly about one's knighthood, even if this man had been stronger than her once upon a time.

Zander moved from the room, ate, rested, then began a swift but assured droop into meditation. His mind was clouded, his soul torn, and he knew not what to say or do. It had not been what he expected. Zander bore every essence of the memories Zaiden, he knew all needed to be a Master, even had the ability to best Knights or even surprise a Master with what meager power he had

Zander felt he deserved the Knight role. He felt he was ready. Thus he knew it was necessary to meditate; he needed to clear his mind. To become one with the new life he had begun. How could he do so without solid based thinking.

Finally sighing, then drifting back into his own body, he moved back to the training grounds where he hoped to meet the woman who would continue his training.

Alex in the meantime was laying down on her back and tossing a rock up and down in the air with her eyes closed, breathing almost non existent as she was learning not how to catch a rock without sight but to follow the paths of the force around a item that was hidden from her sight... never a moments rest on expanding her knowledge and sight so with that her eye opened she turned her head to look at the man once more as the stone entered her hand. "Ready for more Zander?"

Zander nodded, bowed low, and stood straight, "What next?" He asked, his brow twitching into a soft arch. He had changed from his previous outfit, thus taking away the many scorch marks along his clothing. Glancing to the skies, he stared at the bright sun for a moment.

"Well, you seemed so anxious yesterday and my face was patched up enough that i wont bleed on anyone so i decided to give you a test Zander. We are going to fight but this time you will defeat me and put my on my knees. Do that and you can have your knighting ceremony... don't and you remain as you are until i decide you are ready. Ok?" She turned her hands and crossed them behind her as she waited for him to answer and if he did accept she would give him something to show him if she thought he was ready or not. She knew full well he had the power for such a place, but this man would come to understand why she was so hesitant on this.

Zander arched a brow, he was to defeat a master? Not just scratch, but all out defeat? He wondered how he would do such...it was not that he was cocky, for he knew she was a formidable opponent, but he was thinking along the lines of his saber skills being good enough to do so. If he could manage to surprise her.

"I accept the challenge." Zander said, then bowed, lower than before, "Shall you begin? Or myself?"

"After you mister Greyson, oh and don't go and disappoint me, it would be a crying shame if i was to offer you this chance and you only took it half to heart." And so began this man's test and trial one, perhaps he would win perhaps he wouldn't what came of this though would determine if she thought he was ready and as such let her mind and aura reach out as anyone using force sight would ssee her aura manifesting itself into a mass of thorned vines that crawled over the ground and curled around her in the air as it formed a sphere in the force. "Begin."

Zander nodded, dropped to a crouch, drew his saber with a flourish, and accompanied it with his Amphistaff. Holding both reversed, he shot into the air, whipping himself in a 360 spin, hacking and slashing at the woman's head - using Sokan as he had so many times before. The higher ground - or air at the moment - always seemed to help in battle.

As Zander moved through the air above her, he concentrated also on a small factor, another of the balls of light he was so good with. This one was more condensed then the other, barely the size of an orange, but burned just as bright; it appeared directly before the woman's gaze. He hoped that it would throw off her balance enough that his blows would be more effective.

Alexandra made the mistake and watched as her eyesight was flooded beyond her point of understanding. This left her quite blind as she stood there and then with the closing of her eyes she tried to visualize him in the force, her strikes slowed and her movements just barely connecting as she was still blinded in terms of the force too which was getting to be hard on her abilities. Infact the only reason she was blocking his strikes now was she wasn't the one moving her arms, having turned over her body to the force entirely and hoping it kept her safe long enough to get a portion of her vision back, physical or through the force.

Zander groaned as his feet landed on the ground, his blows doing nearly nothing, but still he persisted. Releasing his hold on the Ball of Light, Zander hoped the redness that one got from looking at a light would stay long enough to be of use, but he wasnt for sure. Slashing as quickly as he could, Zander also attempted to sweep a leg beneath the womans own to trip her up. As he did, Zander released the hold he had on his precious Amphistaff, hoping to use it later...

Alexandra's hand was on autopilot but it could not stop the blade as it came low and cut at her legs, moving them in time to avoid dismemberment but her footing was lost as she felt the world rapidly approaching and her back hit the ground. She didn't know how close he was or if he would follow up with an attack. Even if he was just standing there she couldn't tell as her eyesight was still gone. So she reached deep inside her, the pressure around her growing ten times before rocketing outwards and slamming into anything around her to give her a moment of reprieve and let her get her eyesight back, assuming he was close enough for it to hit him.

Zander, sensing through Far Sight the impending attack, leapt high into the air, pushing himself over her body. Still, he was launched high into the air, even higher than he could have reached at his own power. Yet he had been that high before, being one who loved to leap from craft barely breaching the atmosphere. He was immaculate damn near at piloting his body through the air.

Flipping downward, he kept both hands above him, one immediately went out in his most powerful Force Choke, while the other sought to use his saber to impale the woman when the time came.

She felt as the force around her throat tightened, her eyes widening a few degrees before hardening again as she watched his saber too before raising a hand and loosing a blast of lightning right at his chest. She was looking to offset his focus and to amplify the effect her other hand reached and and gripped onto the saber's handle through the force as she struggled to stay away. He was definitely as good as last time, only his body limited him and she would make sure that she didn't fail this time.

Continuing his hold on the woman's throat, Zander hurled himself from the position in the air, narrowly dodging the Lightning that sought his chest, instead feeling it char his left leg. Still attempting to stab the woman, he hoped to keep her off guard for the final play...

For the barest of seconds, he relinquished his hold on her throat, conjured another Ball of Light, he then switched back. He hoped this tactic, would throw her off, for how many can concentrate on numerous fronts at once without sight to aid them? Her energies battled his meager, keeping his saber from descending, while she also had to battle the energies against her own throat....

Then came a slithering noise behind her, as his Amphistaff - which he had allowed to shift to a whip like position, lunged and attempted to wrap itself around the woman's torso, while simultaneously going to sink its fangs into her. If it did so, the battle would be over thanks to death, but also, the razor whip would hopefully bring him victory through tightening the air from her lungs.
