In Darkness There Is Still Light

Animus did not even notice the pain his hand was in and that it had dug pretty deep inside his palm but her concern for it and her agreement to stay until dinner Game Mythos a winning smile that did not diminish his red face, he did not know he was blushing. Laughing he sat back down and decided to try and impress her with a little trick.
He conjured an Illusion, expertly drawn with ancient words that left his mouth and hand gestures that were cryptic and old. Suddenly the lake in her eyes would shift colors from Blue to red, white and yellow and purple and shined with Golden sparkles. He was a Knight of Illusion, he could make a battered battlefield look like a plain of flowers and blossoms in morning dew, a bloodied street into roads of Gold and Lakes of Crystalline magic.
"I thank you... for your concern." He smiled genuinely, no silver tongue now... just honesty and truth dripping from his words. Placing his hand in the table as the blood stopped pouring for a little bit, he cringed as he realized that might have been a bit much...
"I can cook you up something myself, what would you like done?" Mythos was not the greatest Chef in the Galaxy but he could hold his own at the dinner table and new a few dishes, lone lifestyle gave him many skills like that. He was now Technically a single father and Kida Loved Meat, so he made it his mission for her to eat Healthy.
Here was Mythos for the first time in a long while Laying on the Charm of the Opposite Sex on a woman that caught his interest like bees to honey. His eyes of Amber glow penetrated her own beautiful eyes as he said with a soothing tone of nonchalant Boldness as he wiped off a bit of blood from his fingers with his lips. "It is my pleasure to have you here with me" He shot her a wink and a smile followed by a silence that held no secrets as the Lake shimmered with lights of Gold and hues of Aurora.

He was grinning, laughing and....blushing? Really? Oh boy. Maybe she was giving off the wrong impression. She just couldn't get into anything, especially right now. It was too risky and not to mention selfish. No doubt it would get her into trouble with the Republic even more so than what she could possibly be in now.

And then he uttered things in strange tongues, obviously placing some kind of spell. Kay followed his gaze to the lake and almost stood frozen as she watched the spectacle in wonder. No doubt he was tricking her eyes, but it was very beautiful. At least it wasn't anything hideous. She had seen and gone through enough horrors already.

As he placed his hand down on the table and asked about food, she placed her hand on top of the injured one, barely touching the surface. "A steak would be nice, if you have any." She closed her eyes and tapped into the Force, using it to seal the wound little by little, repairing the damaged cells and fusing them back together again. This type of wound she's healed a hundred times over, so she knew how to handle it well enough. Normally she would hide her ability, but as he was so strong in it, he'd of been able to sense her ability even though it wasn't as strong as his own.

Once finished, Kay opened her eyes and removed her hand. How could she let him down gently? She was still devoted to her late husband's memory. "Please understand that I am a widow and I need some time before I feel comfortable enough to move on." Hopefully that worked.

Mythos Nodded as she spoke. "Steak it is!" Just then his wound just... closed and healed. He stared at it in Amazement flexing his hand and watching the beautiful lady open her eyes as she was finished. She spoke of being a Widow, Mythos expected as much, He did not want to pressure her into anything, it was not his idea or intention to Court her right now, he just did it out of Instinct. "Of Course My Lady, I understand completely." His smile beamed and his eyes flashed with not an inch of passion lost.
Mythos was not the Type of Man to surrender his desires and what he wanted easily and she also did not deny him outright. Stepping up and offering her his arm to talk into the Malgus estate.
"Allow me to give you a Tour.." He winked. As the would walk everywhere in the Estate he would use his Illusions to make everything even more beautiful and enticing, his essence of the Darkside like Tendrils that would seep and clutter the minds and blur everything but passion and Darkness. However Animus would not let his Darkside Essence Overtake or discomfort the Lady but instead let it Mingle. In Darkness, there would be Light.

It was cheating of course, His Illusions made his Hair glow in golden hew and his eyes with temping fire, it was all designed to make her give in to something she deserved... Some Passion and warmth from someone who can appreciate her Soul first and her Body second. Mythos would never lay a finger on anyone he did not feel passionately about so as they walked through the Inside of the Malgus "Mansion". Three stories Tall, Nabooian Decor of White and Gold and the Spiral Ladders that seemed heavenly as the Golden railings with Designs would seem to move and Glitter with Gold and white dust that looked like Magic Itself.

She Deserved to be Spoiled Mythos thought to himself, so the Dinner he set off to Prepare as he in a Silence which held no secrets finished showing her every inch of his mansion and the Tapas he had trained in made his Body exhume heat, which in this Winter Night of Naboo was surely needed.
Mythos gestured for her to sit on the Bars stand seats made of Silverine Steel before he took off his Attire and put on his Apron and turned on the Mighty Furnace and began preparing the meat. "How do you want it? Raw Medium of Bunt to a crisp? " he said with a laugh easing up the would be tension between them. For a moment he had to turn his back to her and now only wearing an Apron she would see what she did not on Atrisia... His Body up close, His back held many scars, most of which no longer seemed so gruesome due to some bacta treatment but his well toned muscled body seemed to literally steam from the heat. It was no illusion. He forgot to stop using Tapas to heat his Body and that was why he was steaming hot and the Furnace was hardly half way heating. His Shoulders and back were not hot to the touch, but hot enough to start building steam. Mythos not understanding just vented his Apron. "It just got hot in here, big time!" He fanned the Furnace thinking it was the fire from it and looked back giving [member="Lady Kay"] a flirtish wink before starting a subject he was initially curious about. "Do you have children miss Kay?" His Smile was only half to her as he was not cutting the Vegetables with his Shoto Saber and mixing some oil in the Pan to mix and give off a pleasant crisp aroma of good Spices.

Well he said that he understood, but as she took his arm and walked through his Estate, she wasn't so sure. Everything was beautiful, but the glow that she saw everywhere, including the glow of his hair and eyes suggested that he was giving her more of his illusions. She could feel the Darkside all around her, but she knew how to handle it's presence. Kay would just not give into it. She was stubborn when it came to her desire to remain with the light.

Once in the kitchen she sat on the stool. "Medium well, if it isn't too much trouble." And there he goes, taking off his robes as he did in the Senate Hall, leaving himself topless outside of the apron and his trousers. She took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. It was getting too warm in there, though surely it wasn't her. And then there it was. He was steaming. "Umm....If you aren't careful, you might catch fire..."

She fanned herself with a napkin, her movements slowing down as he asked about children. "Not of my own, no. My husband and I were adopted by two children. They took to us really well, though when he was killed and their lives threatened, they went into hiding. I cannot know where they are for it would put them at risk. Our friends saw to that. I hope that they are well...and happy." She swallowed down a lump in her throat that formed towards the end of her tale. "Could I have some water, please?"

Animus nodded hearing her out and making sure the Steak was exactly how she said it should be. "Catch fire? what d-" Then he noticed his body was so hot it was literally steaming his apron off and it's strings snapped off lighting on small embers which Mythos threw to the ground stomping on it to put the small embers out "Chit!!". Sighing heavily as he hoped she did not notice now that the Apron was smoking and it's shoulder strings burned. "Damn.... that was my favorite Apron." he laughed just before she began her story. This time he put his back to the kitchen stove while he listened to her and turned off his Tapas and took out a giant glass of Crystalline Nabooian Lake water, pouring it over his body as it crashed upon his chest with an audible Hiss of water hitting a hot pan. He nodded as he poured her some of the water in a large glass in the bar stool.

He could not begin to understand how that could feel... He would never leave Kida out of his Sight, if he could not protect her nothing in the Galaxy could, she was his everything and if anything should happen to her... Animus shook the thought of it out of his head heavily. He did not want Lady Kay to relieve any more bad memories, no... This night would not be known for her remembering past Ghosts or Evils that have been done to her.
Putting a white shirt back on after he dried his body from the water that sizzled off his skin as if in a frying pan he tried to change the subject quickly and dramatically. "You must be getting really tired of be taking my shirt off" He laughed and stood next to her in a comforting gesture, he wished to be there for her to share her thoughts and concerns, feeling the sadness and discomfort such a theme brought, Animus countered that emotion with Joy and Kindhearted intentions that were obvious. He hid his Lust well this time, deliberately putting it away to deal with a serious matter, his desire to see her comfortable while with him.

After a few second after he had said that dinner was served, Steak with a side of Rice and vegetables medium rare and cooked to perfection. Well he was no Chef of Five stars but he was good enough. Two Golden Butterflies passed through the table, a line of Golden and Blue hues that danced at the dinner table to make the covers look fantastic and eye catching... "You do know of they are Illusions..." He said nonchalantly as his hair and eyes did not diminish in their crescent glow and splendor, the room came a light to comfort her, his smile the only thing at his side of the Table besides a tall glass of red wine that seemed to swirl with black and Blue colors. Mythos did not Eat much, he had a very Strict diet to keep his form at the exact weight he had to be and his muscles at the tip of their fitness, he avoided too much of anything in his diet and was very meticulous. part of the reason his Physique was impressive was because he watched what he ate and did not overeat or undereat in any way.
The Dark side of the Force was entwined with her Light, his side of the table seemed red hot and passionate while her side the illusion showed as Harmonious and White.
"Do you like them?"
The Only exceptions where Beasts he killed in battle. So far he had tasted Tuk'ata meat, Wampa, Rancor, Ice Cat, Ice Bat, Sand Panther and Maalraas. As much as Mythos wanted to hide his desires and Lust, his eyes spoke tales and Wonders of what he truly wanted.

(The lyrics play perfectly for Animus, and the video shows what her late husband was like...Christian Bale, not Sean Bean...lol)

Oh yes, he took his shirt off a lot around her it seemed. Though this was only the second time that they have ever come across eachother. At least that she knew about anyways. Who knows, he could've been spying on her for a while, or gathering intel. Yet his questions suggest otherwise. But at last he put on a shirt again. She had a big sip of water, almost a gulp and was glad that it was cool as still the kitchen was quite hot. She placed the napkin that she had been fanning herself with earlier onto her lap and then cut into the meat. Kay had asked for medium well and this was medium rare. But that was okay. She ate a small bite of it and chose to let it sit. With the heat of the room, it would cook to the proper temperature that she had asked for. In the meantime she started on the vegetables.

Her eyes of course were drawn to the illusions, watching them as they intertwined and danced. "They are beautiful...Do you always have to cast illusions? What are you afraid that I'd see without them?" Her dear friend Solan Charr also kept up an illusion as to what he looked like. His dabbling into the Darkside had left him scarred and looking like death itself. Was Animus the same way? "I don't mean to sound disrespectful or offensive. I just don't think that you need to go to too much trouble." Pot calling the kettle black. Kay hid the fact that she was a Force User from most people, but that was more so because it was her career as a Senator at stake, and she didn't need her enemies to know more about her than they already did.

Animus laughed snapping his fingers and arranged the food perfectly with the force as he poured his drink of wine again he also dissipated all the Illusions. His eyes Latched onto her as the words left her mouth, he was the proclaimed sin of Pride although almost a Master At the Craft he did not need them or considered anything but himself a necessity in his Form. He considered his Power Sufficing. Arrogance and pride swelled within him surging with Confidence wiping away any and all doubt from his mind that He... Did not fear what he would look about without his illusions.

She saw Animus the Man, the Scars on his Face never left even in the Illusions, Only the Golden Light of the Hair and his unnatural glowing eyes of his person was what he altered. "I do Not" He said calming, he would not let pride take him over right now, or arrogance, he was the Host and as the Host he must be at all times charming and pleasant.
"I do not consider it trouble to give you something Beautiful... even for just a night" his words conjured a crystal Illusion... and a desire that was not so secret. he had been working on for months on this simple looking yet extremely complex illusion. he called them "Dancing Stars". It sat floating in his hand and it looked Real... to the point where the shades and the lights would hit one's eyes the right depending on the light, It was a white diamond the Size of a baby's hand. Glittering in white diamond light it grew larger and it changed colors into vibrant purple, then seven others appeared each one different in hue and different in light and different in size but all... Eerily real dancing around each other. suddenly they all dissipated. "To give you a wonderful evening where the Lakes glow in gold and the food is at your liking and the very world seems to turn and shine for you..." He very well could... He could actually take her and keep her safe in his fold from prying eyes, make her world seem perfect in every way. Sorrow itself would exist but not where she could see it or be affected by it in any way.... be everything she wished for but he knew the moment he saw her she was not the kind of woman to fall for the Sway of a Perfect life, even still he could not resist the temptation to put the subtle reminder that... he very well could. He had met a wonderful woman and he knew from the sorrow of her voice she had been through much hardship and was willing to go through even more to protect the ones she loved it was obvious. He was not great at reading people but emotions were detectable from miles and Courting many women, body language had become second nature in him. "Do you not deserve to be selfish at least once in a while?" His words carried a knowing smile and a sip of wine. Mythos thought himself, indeed very sly.

There were some people that used the Force. And then there were some people that -really- used the Force. A lot. Animus clearly fell under the latter category. Completely the opposite of herself. However she pretended not to notice as she ate. His gaze weighted on her so heavily, or maybe it was the Darkside that she felt? Her eyes were then drawn to the diamond illusion. It was very well done and very pretty. Such perfect evenings, like the one that he was so desperately trying to make for her, were reserved for dreams. At least that's what Kay thought.

"I can't be selfish. It wouldn't be right. There is just too much that needs to be done. Already spies could be watching us and telling our respective employers that we are here together. They would more than likely jump to the wrong conclusions and we'd both be in trouble. I can't do much for anyone if I'm locked up." And she had been locked up before, even put into a mental institution for a time as part of a ruse by her enemies to keep her under control.

Kay's life was not her own. Not ever since she decided to go into public service.

"Spies? In my Laketown?" Animus raised his eyebrow and his face contorted in a smile of disbelief. His voice saying MY laketown was actually more than just deliberate it was fact. The Malgus family after Deus owned most of the Land in lake town and his father had given it to farmers and the poor, modern robin hood, Stealing from the Republic and aiding the Geonosian Gun dealers to help the poor and downtrodden. If he was not such a terrible and abusive drunkard Mythos might even have missed him.

"Unlikely but.. I do see your point." Animus shrugged and gave his wine another Sip. He laughed under his breath. "You really are a surprising woman Miss Kay." His eyes wandered off to the window in what a friend of him would call 'the universal sign of contemplative thought'

"Whereas other women would barge in my door ripp of my clothing and throw me in my bedroom without so much as a casual conversation, You surprise me by doing the exact opposite." He laughed knowing the truth of his words. Part of the reason why Mythos was a lonely man was because it had become so hard to distinguish the real interest and affection from Economic or Political interest and Wanting affection. It was truly surprising to see a someone resist his charm adamantly and respectfully with conviction and will. He admired that. His biggest Attraction was his Wallet and his Possessions. Seeing that Miss Kay did not hound over those two things made Animus more than Content. "You have earned my respect and admiration for that miss Kay. You truly have, but i suggest you don't fear Spies or Scouts in this area, There is not a single being Groom cannot detect." The nose of the Tuk'ata was better than scanners and the best technology in the Galaxy, he knew prying eyes were more than far away, they had no clue.

Kay smirked at his remarks of others ripping his clothes off. "You seem to do well enough at taking off your own clothes on a whim, even where it isn't appropriate, such as Senate Halls. I highly doubt that anyone would need to barge through your door and take off your clothes for you."

She quietly ate her steak. When she was finished she spoke up again. "I have a friend that was like you. He was used to getting what he wanted from any woman that he was attracted to. It took having a daughter to take care of to get him to change his ways. Though whether or not he's changed fully, I'm not sure. I won't be prying in order to find out as it's none of my business."

Of course Kay had her own needs, just like any normal person, but she had to push it all away. Of all the things that she missed the most about her husband, it was of him sheltering her in his arms after a hard day. So simple, yet very affective. And until she dies and rejoins him, she believes that she will never have that again.

She finished her tea and then wiped the corners of her mouth with her napkin before standing. "Thank you for dinner and the tour of your lovely home, but I really must be going. I have contacts to reach in order to save Naboo, and I can't do so here. So if you'll excuse me...."

He took in her words with solemn silence and reverence as a sermon of a holy priest, she was right, down to the letter she was right and for once Mythos knew it. He shrugged, what could he possibly do to change his ways. "I can only Hope you had a wonderful evening and the doors of my Home are open to you... You have yourself a new Ally Miss Kay" He shot her a wink as he accompanied her out to the Luxury starfighter who was by far, had to be, the Most patient man in the Galaxy. "If you need me to go before the Senate of the umm... Silver Sanctum is it? " Animus shook his head, he did not know anything about any Jedi ever, except one who every person in the galaxy knew about and well he thought he might even just try and drop his name. "Thorium Galaxysheild!" That was the name he was sure, "He is the Great Master of the Order, perhaps if i could speak to him" He smiled in booming confidence, he of course did not expect to actually get an audience with the Grand Master of the Silver Jedi when he could not even say his name correctly -but he would have sworn he did- "He surely could summon the Army of Light my people need, he is even respected by the Sith as an Adversary, honestly he's the only Jedi i know by Name but if the tales are true!" His eyes gleamed in excitement as the thought of a mighty warrior clad in golden armor ready to fight beside him and take Naboo alongside an Army of Heroes filled his mind with Hope. "The Union won't stand a Chance" As he neared the entry of the Starfighter he thought of their evening and how unique it had been in every way, Miss Kay had gotten Animus to look inside himself in a special way, different, she saw the good in him whereas others only saw a banner of the Sith and a Sword of destruction.
And i am Afraid you are right... he said when they were just about to reach a departure. "I do always get what i wish for, it has always been so" Animus shrugged, "I am convinced there is nothing that i cannot accomplish if i do not work hard and strive for it... but" He glanced back and looked at her again. "You are wrong in another Aspect," His eyes burned with Passion and love, the fire of a Father who would rather die than give up his children's safety to another or at all. "Because i don't have to lose Kida to know what she means to me and what lengths i have to go to protect her... i do not need to go through sorrow, to know what it so love... Sad that you think Suffering Leads to love... That is such a Sith thing to say." He smiled as he knew this to be true, as well as everything else she did say as well, which were amazing points in their own. "I hope Malgus Manor and its Host have pleased you. We will meet again soon."

As he turned away he did not even look back however, he did leave her with an Illusion of the Crystal inside the Starfighter, that would dissipate only when she was very far with a message inside.

She wasn't sure who the Grand Master of the Silver Jedi was either, but it shouldn't be long before she was to find out. "I will certainly pass along your request. Thank you. I just hope that we aren't too late."

Kay was about to climb onto the starfighter when he spoke again, accusing her of being Sith-like for going through the grief of being a widow. She had loved her late husband dearly and it was because of that love that she had yet to move on from his loss. What he had said struck a chord and it hurt. But instead of shouting at him and giving into anger, she just bowed her head and climbed on board without a word.

Once she was safely out of sight she saw the crystal and the message suggesting that she take time off and be selfish. But no. There was no time for that. Too much demanded her time. Again she thought about what he said and how wrong he was. In time he'll understand, when he has experienced more in life. Kay wiped away a few tears that dared to sneak up on her. This was a weakness that she had to strengthen so that it would not be exploited. Her eyes then looked to the stars as she headed back to her ship to take her home to Commenor. Her apparent snobbery was all due to her loyalty. She hoped that her late husband would be proud...

((Finish))
