In need of a Sith master?

Hey, would anyone be interested in taking a Sith acolyte?

My character is basically the equivalent of a Sith Buddhist. He is heavily involved in philosophy and galactic religions. So, who's interested?

Sure but i'd really like if you pm'd me your ideas first, Ghost is really particular about where she is so she doesn't just show up in a Cantina ramdomly, like many the casual rp.

Hey guys, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you're unable to take on an apprentice if you yourself are still the lowest rank of force user.

At least, I'm pretty sure this is the case.

I'm willing to take you on, if indeed Scarlet is unable to, as our characters may be quite similiar. Menoetius believes knowledge is power, so in turn he knows quite a lot about galactic affairs and is rather academic.

As for the religious aspect, Menoetius was once worshipped by a group of religious fanatics, alongside a pantheon of 11 (or was it 9) other gods, who waged a brief but bright war across the galaxy. Religion was player made and called Moross.

If you're interested, lemme know. ;)

Don't appreciate the thread sniping. And if we're going from a purely role play point of view there is literally nothing stopping a padawan from training a barely force sensitive 5 Year old , it all comes down to scale. Comparatively to some, I'm more powerful, comparatively to others, i'm less powerful. Just because i dont have a fancy rank means nothing. Theres lords that I could eliminate, and theres acolytes that could eliminate me

Hardly thread sniping, I am almost certain you cannot take on an apprentice if you yourself are an apprentice. If you two were to roleplay together, you could both achieve the rank of knight, through self training. Eg, sparring together and discussing the intricacies of the force with one and another and so on and so forth.

The ranks exist for a reason, and an apprentice/acolyte/padawan/initiate is generally someone with a level in the force equal to their rank; low. Generally, as well, a knight will always be stronger than an apprentice, and a master will always be stronger than a knight -- at least in terms of raw power. Sure they are defeated by lower ranks from time to time, but that's usually because of either great writing or as a plot device.

Sorry if I ruffled some feathers, I suggest you contact an RPJ to confirm that you can in fact take on an apprentice before you actually do so, as I am not 100% sure. Be a shame if you did all these great training threads together and then his promotion to Knight was denied because you weren't one yourself! :/

No Problems Friend, and I see your point but, as the saying goes "Arrogance is it's own Weakness" . People too sure of their own power are suprisingly easy to take down

You can take a real official apprentice only if you are at least at Knight level. You may train alongside other apprentices, but you can't be their actual masters. That's Star Wars canon.

And to my knowledge, it is the norm here and every faction follows that unspoken rule.

Except...It isn't. There weren't always masters, or knights, or acolytes. In the begining there was one, and he wasn't that good at using the force. But he was the only one, and so he was the master. And then their came a second, and the first taught the second, and the second one improved on the first, and so it went.

[member="Scarlet Ghost"] you can take whoever you want as an apprentice. If their an acolyte and you are too thats fine. It just means you cant promote them to a higher rank. When I was a padawan I taught and took in many other padawans, they learned and so did I. We all found knighthood together by sharing knowledge and w/e. So do what your want just dont try to promote someone to a rank higher than your current.

Rank is stupid. Besides.. Acolytes/Padawans are no laughing matter. Even with a beginners knowledge of the force one can do ALOT.

Then why do you RP in a community which has an emphasis on the rank structure? Yes, acolytes can defeat Masters and so on, but training is done in a three-rank structure. Like I said, you can train alongside others, like you seem to have done, but you can not be their real master. As simple as that.

The point is, when a real master takes the acolyte as their apprentice, you can't whine about them taking your trainee because he has the right to do that. You don't.

[member="Scarlet Ghost"], we don't RP in the era when the Force was discovered. Please abide to the modern way things work.

Why don't we just look at the rules for rank promotions to tell us what is okay and what is not for rank stuff?
FORCE USER RANK PROMOTION

1. Apprentice To Knight
  • When an Apprentice's Master feels the Apprentice is ready for promotion to Knight, he/she submits the Apprentice's name for promotion to his/her Faction Administrator for approval.
  • If the Apprentice does not belong to a Faction, the Apprentice's Master will submit the Apprentice's name to a Role-play Judge for approval.
  • If approved by the Faction Administrator/Role-Play Judge, the Apprentice's name is submitted to a Board Administrator for Rank Promotion.
*In the case that no Force User Master is available, any Faction Administrator/Role-play Judge may represent the Apprentice as his/her Out of Character Master for promotion purposes.

2. Knight to Master
  • When a Knight's Master feels the Knight is ready for promotion to Master, he/she submits the Knight's name for promotion to his/her Faction's Force-User Masters for approval.
  • The Faction's Force-User Masters vote and decide on whether or not the Knight is to be promoted to Master. Majority rules the vote, but in the event of a tie, the Faction Administrators are required to make the final decision.
  • If the vote succeeds, the Knight's name is then submitted to the Role-Play Judges to be voted on and ultimately decided whether or not the Knight will be promoted to Master.
  • If the Role-Play Judge's successfully vote that the Knight be promoted, a Board Admin will inform the Knight and promote him/her.
*In the case that no Force User Master is available, any Faction Administrator/Role-play Judge may represent the Knight as his/her Out of Character Master for promotion purposes.

But we don't rp in a rank based structure. We don't do numbers and rolls and levels. We're an RP Forum that emphasizes story, and what you're writing right now undermines the entire spirit of things.

And since we're talking 'Modern Way things work' Would you like me to link you to a dozen plus nobels that are canon, and have apprentices teaching other apprentices, and becoming masters themselves? I don't think they had a neat rank structure to move up in, they just did it anyway. This is a Chaos rp, where everything happens and exists, so I dont know why this chafes you so much

To everyone, I dont care about rules or promotions or any of this. Me and [member="Malo Kwaad"] Were trying to create a good story, but people who care too much about numbers and ranks decided to come in and ruin that because they don't seem to understand what it is we're trying to achieve.

I can understand some people don't care about story, all they care about is their own position prestige and power, and a good story doesn't matter to them. But to me it does, and this callous disregard is really quite upsetting to me
