In the Shadows of Vena (complete)

Faith heard the voice as it carried through the rooms slowly she got up she had a part to play today she had an idea of what would work and what wouldn't. So first she would be the Princess of Alderaan.

She dressed on a gown that had become her style fitted shapely and sometimes too revealing she then donned the crown and the necklace taking a deep breath Faith held her head up give herself the air of confidence needed to approach the subjects at hand.

She opened the door and stared at Gabriella Faith moved with a sure step as she kept her gaze on the woman who had been a friend, "I believe you are here to to speak with me Countess Alde" Faith who rarely had a stern bone in her body stood silent as the room became as silent as poor Rebekah's dead body.

"Faith"

"Your Majesty, or your royal high is how you will address me" Faith could have bore holes through the woman if it were possible.

"Your majesty" She bowed her head, and then slowly lifted her gaze, "Majesty, it was all ruse, none of what you saw was....real. I am profoundly sorry for all the harm I've caused." She looked down again quickly.

Faith walked to where Rebekah lay, she pulled the sheet back, "Are you sorry to her to? Because she can't hear you. Your compliance in this matter has led to her death. Something which you will be held accountable for Countess. You cannot aide, or look the other way when innocents are killed so that you can get your reward."

"Princess, I didn't know, it was shear accident the girl thought the droid was Draco and came in looking for him, when she saw it wasn't him, The Duke just...ordered her death. His guards are loyal, very loyal"

Faith felt made of stone, "And you didn't stop him, intervene, anything?"

"It was too late Princess she was already gone. I'm going to get the Duke to confess Draco is going to fit me with this" She held up the microphone, "I will make this right" She wanted to make it right, and she was counting on Draco and his word that he'd get her set up far away from it all. Before the Princess decided to imprison her or worse.

Faith shook her head, "There is no making it right, there is nothing but confessions and punishment. But yes, help the Commander." It bit her each time Gabriella used Draco's name as if she were his friend, his confidante. She tried not to growl.

She looked at everything Draco had brought out seems he was prepared for almost anything.

[member="Draco Vereen"]

Draco let the pair speak while he pulled on his armorweave, getting it situated on him over his casual clothes and looking at everything else in this particular suitcase. His Sword, his pistol, and his Drahr'kandar. Even a small half cape with fur along the shoulders. He wasn't going to be wearing House Organa colors just yet. Once all this mess was dealt with, he would wear them proudly, like Faith's husband should. But he wasn't her husband just yet. Their happily ever after was still on the horizon.

Draco watched the conversation between the pair. Faith was very upset with the situation, as she should be. Gabriella conspired against her and caused her great emotional pain. Though she was hardly a conspirator in Rebekah's death. He could see the subtle winces when Gabriella was so informal when referring to him, but kept silent, careful not to step on Faith's toes or interrupt her while she was representing the Crown. He was, at the moment, nothing more than a Knight Errant to her.

Slipping the first of the armored plates over himself wasn't hard, didn't take long. They mag-clamped and seal themselves together, the armorweave meshing with the plates so that they fit snug and comfortable on his body. Several different pieces to be put on in order. First Upper arms, then codpiece, then thighs, then greaves and sabatons, then vambraces, then the curiass, helmet sitting on the table. Draco picked up the pistol and spun it around his finger a few times, getting the feel for it, then holstered it on his thigh. The Sword he tied to his belt in the classic knights knot, where the scabbard was attached to the belt via suspension straps, and then the half cape over one of his shoulders. The fur was old, from one of his hunts on Onderon, the cloth black and soft to the touch. In the future this one would be replaced by one with dark blue lining and gold trim to represent House Organa.

Draco smiled at Faith, "Well you look gorgeous. If we weren't pressed for time my love, we would have to go back to the bedroom." and then glanced at Gabriella, "Don't mess this up. Cooperation buys leniency, but only with success." The young woman nodded and sat quiet, waiting for her instructions to leave.

When the door slid open and the dark shadowy creature crawled in, diminutive in stature. "The Duke is still sleeping. One Guard right outside the guard, all the holocameras don't have footage of Draz or you from last night. The light is out, and I cannot hide as well now that it is daylight."

"Good work. Well Gabriella, you are on. Hide it somewhere, and make sure it is somewhere he won't feel it." She nodded and cleaned up in the sink in the powder room, before she left, praying that Draco was able to convince Faith to be as lenient as she hoped for.

"Are you going to be alright ner runi?"

[member="Faith Organa"]

Was she going to be alright? She looked from Gabriella to Draco she clenched her teeth together hard. "Yes, I'll be fine. Gabriella you don't want to fail at this" There was no other warning to give.

She had a plan of her own, this morning she had Ana send a request to the other nobles of Vena, she was seeking audience with them. She imagined that they would all think she was coming to announce her marriage to the Duke, but she had other plans. If Gabriella was able to get the evidence, that evidence would help to put forth her plan in motion. She had spoken to her mother, and sent word to [member="Alyesa Organa"] to tell her what she was going to propose.

if it worked, their influence would grow, if it did not then the loss of poor Rebekah she would seek compensation from the Duke's house.

Her cheeks turned pink at Draco's comment she wondered did he say it to reinforce to Gabriella, to remind her. She didn't know and she didn't care right now it was sweet thought that he would mentioned it.

Faith was almost startled by the appearance the shadow. oh my she thought. She tried not to step back in fear, she tried to hold her feet to the place she stood.

Gabriella stood up, "I will make arrangements to meet with the Duke when he rises. " She tried to square her shoulders to recover some of the bearing she once had, she nodded to Draco and headed for the door. All while her heart pounded in fear of what could happen.

Faith looked to Ana, "let me know the moment we have a response, Draco you let me know when we have the evidence. All things must be in place or all that is needed will fall flat. Are we agreed?"

[member="Draco Vereen"]

After Gabriella was gone, Draco turned to Faith, still offering her a soft smile. "Yes, we are agreed." The Mandalorian rubbed her arms tenderly, trying to reassure of the things to come. "She won't fail. There is too much of hers at stake." He just felt the needed her to know he loved her and they would get through this alright. Then they would go home and morn Rebekah, and celebrate each other. All they needed was to crush this Duke Aris before they could do that and find justice. And not have a snake waiting to rise again.

Draco tapped himself down, checking every pocket and each loop on his belt, making sure everything was in its proper place. "So, I will follow your lead cyar'ika, let you handle the politics. If you need me, I will be right behind you, promise. And no one will touch you while I'm right there." His smile became a little more mischievous. "And I was being serious a moment ago. You always look breathtaking, but sometimes you really test my willpower." Carefully he touched her with his gloved fingers, running his hands down her sides and gently pulling her against him, leaning in to kiss her softly.

For a moment Draco looked into her eyes, falling into those amber pools, forgetting all his worries, his stresses, his fears. Only thoughts of happiness with Faith filled his mind, his children on the way in short order, their home readied and waiting for the twins, little Blu already growing steadily, she was still small and cuddly and fluffy. "I love you ner runi. We will get each other through this." His mind returned to the task at hand. Shaming a Duke and getting his noble court to rebuke him was tricky business, something Faith could do, but he could not.

"Whenever you ready." The warrior released her and rolled his shoulders, hearing them pop and crack.

[member="Faith Organa"]

She was as ready as she was going to get she looked at as he tapped himself down, then with that look he often got he reached for her and gently pulled her close, she couldn’t help it she smiled and put her arms around his neck grateful to feel a bit of their old routine surface.

“I like testing your willpower it tells me that I’m doing something you like. Cause you know I really do love that look on your face.” She nodded, “I love you ner kar’ta and I hope so.” He released her and she stepped back.

Nodding to him, “We are going to a meeting, I will need the feed on her as soon as she gets him to confess”

Gabriella was walking through the halls, talking to herself and wondering how all of this had gone so bad so quickly. She had thought everything was going just right. But no. She had to admit the death of that poor girl changed everything.

Even she had a hard time stomaching her death. She just came in at the wrong time she went into the room where she knew the droid was and looked at him. She really did have a thing for the mandalorian and this was truly as close as she had ever gotten to him showing any real interest in her.

Then she got an idea as she saw the Duke’s breakfast going by, “Excuse me, I’ll take that” The doe eyed girl pushing the cart gave her a look between fear and relief, “No worries, I got it” The girl nodded giving up the task too easy.

Gabriella put the microphone under the napkin.

She came to the Duke’s door, knocking gently and then entering, “morning” She smiled seductively, “I’ve brought you breakfast.” She pushed the cart to the end of the bed, “So, coffee, tea…or me to start?”

A lecherous grin appeared, as he pushed the covers back inviting her in.

[member="Draco Vereen"]

Draco blushed as she wrapped her arms around him, warming to her touch, feeling her warmth and affection spread through him. Even though he was mildly upset with her, he couldn't help but cool off and shove that to the side sometimes. Especially in times like these that called for them to be united together, a solid front against those that would seek to undo them and separate them from each other. There would be time to air his grievances and concerns when they were relaxed, comfortable, and not being assaulted by another noble house.

"Well, it is hard for you to do things I don't like, cyar'ika." Draco smiled warmly, letting her lead him. "I've got the recorder on. The thing has a ten meter radius for clear recordings, and all she needs is for Duke Aris to confirm his identity and admit to either, preferably both of his crimes. Gabriella can handle it. He is so confident he owns her, he won't suspect anything from her." Draco smiled, when owning people, when a locksmith came around and offered ways out and ways into more trouble, many ended up emancipated. It was the way of things.

Gabriella, laid back pulling the blankets up over herself while Duke Aris dressed, largely ignoring her presence. "So, Prince Aris? When will you start procuring Phrikite ore from Alderaan."

The Duke didn't hardly glance back at her, buttoning up his shirt. "As soon as the wedding vows are exchanged. Don't worry about our deal. Its still intact for now." Duke Aris wasn't sure he was going to go through with that agreement though. House Alde had Phrikite ore, they sold it on occasion, and as Prince he could demand a lower price for it, and then ship it from Vena at full price. Not as profitable as procuring it for almost nothing from House Organa's mines and selling it full price to whomever would pay, but close.

"Which parts are intact?" She asked, rolling over, batting her eyes like the temptress she was. She was playing him pretty well for just a plaything.

The Duke sighed, and looked at her. "My brother will marry you so I can keep you close and tie the houses together, which means you will benefit when Vena begins selling Alderaan's phrik. I don't have to explain every detail to you, do I. You understand some of the complexities, don't you." He could tell she was up to something. Apparently she wanted a little more than just getting to remain relevant and not driven into bankruptcy through shady dealings like the Organas.

"I understand some, Aris. I was just wondering if I could get a small percentage, maybe one percent of the earnings." She smiled, propping her head up on her hands, looking at him with her emerald green eyes. "And for that, I kind of want to know how it works."

The Duke looked her over, and thought to himself a moment. She was fairly disposable at this point, but two people going missing in such a short time span was risky, and she was a countess, not just some servant. For now, she was worth having around anyway, she earned her keep. "Once I'm prince, I can negotiate on Organa's behalf. Then I can trade Organa's phrik to myself for pennies on the credit, and ship it and ninety percent their price, gouging them of their customers, and profiting. I won't even need to hire miners. They will be losing money at the price they will sell to me. Simple enough for you?"

"And my one percent?"

"Henry will earn more than that simply being a member of the house. Ask him for an allowance. I'm sure you will be able to convince him." He sneered at her. She wasn't talking her way out of being shackled to the family. She couldn't betray him if he was the only thing keeping her out of the slums.

~Faith's Suite~

Draco smiled at Faith. "She got him to confess his scheme to get into House Organa. Is that enough?" He knew she really wanted justice for Rebekah, more so than she wanted him to go down for his schemes, but the nobles would likely see it the other way around. Rich men rarely considered poor women worth ousting a ruler over. But trade sanctions and blockades from two powerful families, that they would behead him to escape if they had to.

[member="Faith Organa"]

Was it enough,

Faith couldn't help herself she smiled.

"NO, I want a confession to Rebekah's murder" Faith looked over to the body, "She deserves justice" it would give her the added fuel needed to bring Aris to his knees begging for mercy and she wanted him to beg for mercy. She wanted to break him for all that he had caused, all that he had done and for every ounce of intention he had in regards to her family.

No she wasn't going to be peace loving and calm not this time.

"Kill one of my citizens for what something as frivolous as a title? How small a mind he must really have, no Draco I won't budge on it, coming after me in this manner was one thing but not near as heinous as killing one of my citizens."

She walked towards the door, "The transport should be coming soon to take us to the meeting. Two guards will stay with Rebekah's body, the others will come with us, Captain Lindsey will stay here to escort the Duke to the meeting when the time is right"

The Dukes quarters

"Yes Henry will be more than happy with me I'm sure and convincing him to give me an allowance I'm sure will be easy" She rolled over, "How often will I get to see you once your married to the Princess?"

She smiled and pouted at the same time Aris looked over at her, "As often as I summon you to my bed, you're creative you'll think of ways and any bastards you bear me you can tell Henry they are his. I'll keep you until a younger model comes along, of course now for the first few months I'll be spending every night with my new wife to get an heir quickly."

Gabriella no longer existed in the room he was too busy going on about his plan that evil little glint in his eye the sounds of want in his voice for things he long desired. He could see his plan coming together. He knew nothing could stop him.

[member="Draco Vereen"]

Draco was actually a little sad Faith was so angry. Someone so gentle, so kind, shouldn't be angered or harmed like she had been with the death of her friend. He wanted to shield her from that kind of life, from that facet of life. She had fallen in love with a warrior who didn't want her to see the uglier side of life, and yet, here she was in the same room as the deceased body of one of her closest friends.

"Baby, it will work out." He nudged her, trying to give her a reassuring smile. Part of him was worried about her, worried this experience would change her into someone more cynical, darker person. He didn't want that, even if he had to be a little dark for her, he didn't want her getting dragged down after everything she had been through.

"Remember. I'm here for you, anything you need baby." Draco followed her out, flanked by the Royal Guards of House Organa. Confrontation Draco could handle fine. He doubted anyone would try anything either. Not risking all out war from the Mandalorian Clans and Alderaan.

~Elsewhere in the Estate~

Gabriella hid her wince and disparaging look at the Duke's remark. A younger model. Like he could do better than her even with all his money and influence. Money and influence we has about to lose anyway. Gabriella hoped the Commander would hold to his word and set her up comfortably, perhaps a little more than comfortably once she did everything he asked.

"What about the servant girl. Have your men gotten rid of her body yet?" She knew the answer, but he didn't, or might not.

"The body's been taken care of. Fed to the dogs last night." Well, a wild beast had taken it according to his loyalists but close enough. He was getting a little annoyed with her questions. They weren't partners in this, they weren't going to have a long lasting relationship.

"Why did you have to have her killed Aris? Wasn't there anything else you could have done?" Gabriella laid on her back, looking at the Duke with her head arched backwards, watching him pick at his breakfast. The napkin with the microphone was beneath the plate, and a more easily accessible one was beside the plate of food.

"Because she would have told the Princess eventually. The only way to keep her mouth closed was to have her killed. You wouldn't want everything we worked for to dissolve into nothing, would you?" He didn't know that there was already nothing. Even if he had of succeeded, it wasn't like the Mandalorian wouldn't seek vengeance once everything came to light.

"Well, as for the rest of the day, where do you want me?"

"Well, Faith asked for a meeting with the Noble's to announce our engagement. You might as well come with me. Go get dressed in something to appear before the noble court." And watch his moment of triumph, as he gained everything he wanted from the beautiful princess. He could at least see one reason the Mandalorian was so interested in the princess.

[member="Faith Organa"]

Faith walked down the staircase of the Estate, and then into the sun yesterday seemed more like a week ago, she turned to the guards with her, "relay back that as soon as the Duke leaves move our things to the ship. I won't stay any longer than I need to" She turned and slid into the transport making room for Draco. Ana would slid into the front, the guards would follow.

Faith was quiet she looked over and could tell by the number of times Draco had said baby he was concerned about her. She took a deep breath seeking to push away the thoughts of revenge she had, the ones where she broke the Duke into a million tiny little pieces and then stepped on them with a walker over and over again till he no longer existed. Yes she was pushing that away.

Would this move on her part finally show her mother she was ready to be Queen of Aldera, would it restore her faith in her? She didn't know and she was slowly beginning not to care not if this was the cost.

The Estate

Gabriella slipped from the bed, picking up her clothing and redressing, she hoped this was the last time she would ever have to do this. And if the Commander kept his word she wouldn't, she could bid this entire mess good ridance.

She noticed the Duke playing with the napkins he tilted his head one way than another, Gabriella beginning to feel panic dressed quickly, "Well I need a shower if i"m going to go and stand before the Council of Vena." She stepped towards the door a bit disheveled but she wanted out now.

The Duke looked up, "Of course, I'll be celebrating tonight so you don't have to bother coming. I'm hoping to bed the Princess, it would be time for her to understand what is expected of her as a Noble of Vena, and as my wife" He smiled, his fingers touching the napkin where the microphone was hidden.

Gabriella smiled, "she won't be near as good as I am" she felt her heartbeat pick up.

"Perhaps, but one has to wonder what was it those mandalorians saw in her, anyhow yes let's get ready"

Gabriella opened the door, "Excuse me, you forgot something"

She paused what had she forgotten? "Forgotten?"

The Duke pointed to the tray, "take it to the kitchen"

"OH yes, yes forgot the tray" She went in and picked it up, "sorry" then without delay she went to the kitchen

[member="Draco Vereen"]

Draco looked up at the ceiling. He had everything they needed on the little recorded and now all they had to do was make a copy of it to show before the court. Something where the confessions would be the first things heard rather than Duke Aris sleeping with Gabriella. Draco actually felt bad for the redheaded woman. There was no one that loved her, or cared about her really. Even the Duke treated her as little more than a slave, like the Hutts treated their twi'lek dancers. "Well she got us everything we needed, and I'm uploading a copy of the recording to the ship just in case. All there is left is to present it before the Nobles of Vena."

He sighed letting out his breath. It was almost over, all the worry and risk about the situation was falling away as pieces came together. Faith wanted justice, but it was still a tricky road to get what she sought. The Nobles of Vena had to punish him for her, and to do that, they had to think there was much to lose by siding with their Duke. "So, how are you going to convince them to put him out." She had a number of options. He easiest one was informing the nobles that Clan Vereen would be declaring war on Duke Aris's regime on Vena. That would see his support dissipate and fizzle, but was risky. There were other governments that would appreciate such an overstep of power and responsibility.

The big warrior was ready to take her back to Aldera, lay Faith down by a fire place and make all her worries, stresses, and pains go away for a few days. A well earned vacation for the Princess, a weekend with her Dragon, alone by a lake, looking in on their new home.

The transport arrived quietly, and the group made ready to leave the estate to await the end of their own plot against the Duke.

[member="Faith Organa"]

"they will do it because they do not wish war with Alderaan. They will do it because I will offer them a member of House Organa to replace him. They will do it because it is in their best interests, and they fear being left alone by the Republic. If word were to get to the Republic that Vena killed citizens to gain influence they'd have to pay more for their imports."

Faith sat back, "there are many ways to get him on his knees" She tried not to smile but she had to admit that the idea intrigued her more and more.

They pulled up in front of a building not unlike the Council Hall on Aldera Faith slipped out and headed up the stairs, her entourage following her.

Inside the hall she could see the Duke already seated, clean shaven, and wearing all the accolades that his title entitled him to wear. She smiled and nodded, she then walked to the center of the room where all could see her.

She had Ana standing nearby and Draco where she could see him, and where all others could see him as well.

The Duke started to rise, but Faith put up her hand to stop him. Gabriella sat in a seat in the gallery above, no one could miss the redhead.

"Good Morning. I apologize for the hour but I am one that believes when there is something to be done, it is best to do it as early as possible." Faith looked at the Duke, "Alderaan is once again the glittering jewel it once was. With exports of grains, and wines, technology, and ships to all those that have entered into contract with us. Aldera offers handmade crafts, gems, food, clothing, and a number of other unique items. Vena is in need of most of them, and their citizens are craving some of the more unique items available."

She smiled, "My titles you know, Princess of Alderaan, and Crown Princess of Aldera I will rule Aldera my word will be law. ON Alderaan my sister Alyesa will rule, her word will be law. We are a family united by our singular cause the prosperity and safety of our citizens."

She looked down, "Mi'Lords I stand here a victim of a crime. I stand here mourning a friend who died far too young. A woman who had a future." Faith looked to each of them making sure to make eye contact with them all they needed to see her pain, "She was murdered, and murdered on the orders of someone in this room. Someone who thought so much of themselves that they didn't think about having a young life taken."

From the corner of her eye she could see the Duke shifting uncomfortably, yes he was finally starting to see she wasn't here to announce their marriage.

"One of you has actively worked to separate me from my family, from those who love me, from the father of my children, and take my sovereignty and make it their own."

"Princess, those are serious crimes you mention. Act of Murder and the under handed means of handling your personal affairs."

Faith nodded, "Yes the charge of murder is one that concerns me most. You are wondering who do I speak of, I speak of Duke Aris." She could see him on his feet her guards already blocking the doors.

"Ana would please send that feed now" She stood there while the recording played it was then he knew that Gabriella too had played him.

Faith walked slowly towards him, his smug look, and just for a moment fear. She wanted to beat him soundly instead she slapped him CRACK her hand made contact with his cheek. "You're a monster"

Faith stepped back and looked at them all, "I demand this man be punished, and stripped of his titles."

The looked at one another the guards made sure he didn't leave,

"Princess we ask for time to deliberate"

Faith nodded, "I will go outside'

[member="Draco Vereen"]

Draco had stood off to the side, waiting, watching. There wasn't much he could say to help Faith in these matters of politics, but when she slapped him, he took steps forward, certain that he might try to lay his hands on her on instinct. Draco was there, ready to take whatever hand he touched his Faith with, but the Duke remained composed, at least externally. As Faith made her way outside, he could see the Duke looking up into the gallery, his eyes locked on Gabriella who was now making her way out. He knew who it was that sold him out, and she knew there would be some reprisal before long.

Already Duke Aris was whispering instructions into several of his loyalists ears, telling them what to do and how to proceed with the situation. Draco was certain there were ways around and out of being stripped of his titles, but that wasn't incredibly important. If the Nobles of Vena didn't do something, they wouldn't last very long. Most of them would demand some form of reduction in rank and holdings in an attempt to soothe House Organa's wronged and mistreated Princess. Some would even support his family being done away with.

Draco stopped near the Duke, close enough to be heard when he spoke with a regular volume in his voice. "Count yourself lucky. I wanted to bash your skull in without a trial." The Duke glared back at the Mandalorian, but couldn't do anything. Its not like any of the men around him were keen on attacking an armed and armored Mandalorian Force Master without weapons and arms of their own.

As Draco made his way out to where Faith was standing among her guards he could see Gabriella quickly walking in their direction. Even if her involvement was off the books and records weren't made of it, Duke Aris and his people knew the sultry redhead had been the one that sold them out. She would seek protection from Princess Organa, or she would likely not make it off Vena. It wasn't like her family was influential this far from Alderaan anyway.

"Commander." She said, her eyes moving from the Princess to the Mandalorian. "I know its a lot to ask, but, is there anyway I could travel back to Alderaan with you?"

"No, not with us. Don't be ridiculous." Draco said with a half laugh, a slight chuckle. The concept was actually rather funny to him, that she would ask to be confined to close quarters with Faith while he was nearby. She'd be lucky to leave the ship with any of her red curls left. "But, I can have my clansmen escort you from here back to Alderaan." Already the Barabel hunter was standing only a few meters away, off away from the group. "Draz, did you hear that?"

"Thiz one hearz. Redhead to Rach, Rach to bring uz to Alderaan, unharmed." The barabel smiled revealing his very long, dagger-like teeth behind his reptilian maw, the slit eyes of the humanoid lizard observing the group.

"Princess," Draco asked, touching Faith's hand affectionately, gently. "Our things have been moved to the ship even now, and Rebekah is being transported. Once you give the order we can leave. We can even have the ship meet us here if you like." And the blastboat the Barabel, Defel, and their wookiee companion guarding it would most likely be only a moment or so behind them.

[member="Faith Organa"]

Faith was quiet while they waited for the Nobles of Vena to make a decision. She smiled at Draco, “I want to know their decision before we leave in case, well in case I need to plead for more”
Inside the chambers.

“It has been so ever since the nobility was created sometimes the death of another is warranted, however one must not be caught. In this case he has been caught, and there is proof. Alderaan provides us with imports, just as we provide to them. The marriage alliance would have been profitable to all no matter what personal gain Duke Aris was thinking on”

The members whispered to each other, “We do not wish to lose our trade agreements with Alderaan”
The group looked from one to the other, “We cannot lose this trade with the Hapan agreements gone due to the Sith take over we need Alderaan goods.”

“She asks that he be stripped of his titles, I say let’s go one better, strip him and give his lands to her. Give her a presence on Vena, give the Royal Family a presence on Vena. This way we give her restitution, and maintain our trade agreements. The title of Duchess to someone in her house, someone who could if so choose vies to become the Royal Family of Vena.”

A couple of the nobles stepped back, “Do you really want to give them opportunity to become the Royal Family that would give them presence and influence on four worlds, as well as she is still affiliated with the Republic. They are becoming quite the influence in the galaxy. Are we sure this is our course of action?”

Silence as each one thought about it, what it meant, what it could mean.

“He will need to serve time in a cell, the look on her face tells me she won’t take just taking his lands and titles away she will want something more. The loss is personal to her.”

Heads bobbed in agreement.

“Very well then. Let us call her in we are agreed”

A paige from the Council came for Faith. She took a deep breath, she needed to have silence and peace on this or her anger would seep out and show them all a side to her that she tried too hard to keep in check.

She stood at the center of the room looking at them, they definitely had a made a decision.

“Princess Faith, this council has made its decision. First Duke Aris will be remanded to Arliss Prison for the crime of murder. Second for his crimes against you personally and in conjunction with the crime of murder all of his titles and lands are hereby stripped from him and given to House Organa. Whoever House Organa names will have say in our laws, and have the opportunity to take their place as the Royal Family of Vena.”

Faith considered this more than fair, “Very well.” She already knew who she would have come to Vena, and she knew already that she would be supporting to become the next Royal Family of Vena, “I name my sister Arabella Darkhold to be Duchess on Vena. House Darkhold Organa will be established on the lands of the former Duke Aris.”

She smiled then, “thank you”

She then walked to Aris who was restrained, if he could have killed her he would right now his eyes said it a thousand times over.

“Goodbye Aris, may whatever fate has in store for you be visited upon you tenfold”

Faith then headed out the door, “Ana send a message to Arabella tell her I need to see her. Draco…” she stopped, “I want to go home” She checked her emotions, “please”

Draco waited patiently with Faith, Gabriella standing close by, the group well guarded by the Royal Guards of Alderaan that accompanied them. It was the waiting that bothered Draco. The longer the courts took, the more likely it was that Aris weaseled his way out of serious punishments, and that would not stand for Draco. Not in the slightest.

Once Faith was asked back inside and Draco listened quietly, standing just behind the Princess and to her right, he smiled. It was better than he deserved, but it was a start. It was the public humiliation and reprimands that really made the punishment for Draco. If it had not been for that, he doubted it was as serious as the nobles were attempting to make it out. Life experience had taught Draco that there were few politicians and noblemen and women that were honest. He was grateful for Faith was one of those few, and she was very special in that she always saw the good in others, even when they could not see it for themselves.

"Don't worry Aris. I have some old friends in Kessel if you need a cellmate." Draco's glare and the smirk he wore told of the dark meaning to the words. Faith would know that he meant former or current slaves, probably the less noble kind, the ones who were enslaved with good reason. He probably wouldn't actually go through with it, but it was good to remind Duke Aris that he had picked the wrong fight. A lot of Draco's being wanted to stay and argue for a trial by combat against the now former Duke, but Faith was on her way out.

Draco followed his Princess closely, the group leaving with her. "Of course, ner runi. Home sounds like a good idea." As they left and began descending the stairs, Draco didn't need to address the Barabel, the creature understood its instructions just fine without need for clarification, and Faith's ship was already moving to meet them outside the building, already visible from the steps leading into the building, intending on meeting them just outside the grounds.

"Once we are in the air, I have something I wanted to talk about, cyar'ika." He smiled warmly. Despite his concerns and mild disappointment, he was still positive of what he wanted. This expedition only proved it to him.

It was done and Faith could ask for nothing more they made it to the ship in quick time the sooner they put this behind them, the sooner she could be Arabella away from the Sith and setting up home on Vena the better. But would she go? Would she have to name Claire instead? What was she doing anyhow?

So many questions concerning her sister, course she hoped her sister wasn't a Sith anymore what if she was?

She looked at Draco as they all walked into the ship, somewhere in the hold lay poor Rebekah. And now the solemness began everyone lost in their own thoughts, everyone ready to be home.

"When we are ready we need to go, I'm going to my quarters" Faith pulled off her shoes holding them in one hand her skirts in the other she walked towards her rooms. She wanted nothing more than to focus on something else. Anything else.

She knew Draco was behind her he was never far when they traveled unless he had to be. She wanted something to eat too, she had not really eaten anything since their arrival.

"Draco, she slipped into a comfortable chair, "you said you had something to discuss with me?" She looked up, waiting for him to tell her what he wanted to talk about.

Draco followed Faith into her room aboard her yacht. The room was nice, short but comfortable carpeting, sound proofing, a nice bed behind a divider. Faith was lounging in a soft chair with her shoes off. She was tired he could tell, but he wanted to talk to her and she was giving him his chance.

Draco plopped down on the floor in front of Faith, pulling his gloves off his fingers. "Faith, we've been through a lot in the last day or so." He dropped the gloves in the floor. What did he care, they were on her ship. "And, I think we proved the people who doubted us wrong. Not every couple could overcome what we did."

"Even at our worst, you saw with your own eyes the Duke's treachery, you didn't fully believe what you saw. You trusted me, I trusted you, and we came through for each other." Draco dug around in one of the pouches, "You know I've loved you since we met. I'm your dragon, and once a dragon finds his other half there will be no other for as long as we live, and I want the rest of my days to be happy and with you."

He pulled a ring from his pouch and held it in his hand, up to her to see while he lounged around her lap, resting one of his hands on her thigh. "Faith, will you marry me?"

She was ready for him to say something about her not trusting him. She watched though with her eyes she saw he was tired, and probably hungry he hadn't eaten either since their impromptu lunch.

He was making a speech, she listened. She started to interrupt but something in her said no don't do it. She watched the gloves drop to the deck.

Ever since they had found a book about Dragons that one phrase in regards to mates seem to always apply to them.

She sat up a little straighter.

She could feel the mynocks growing in her stomach.

He was fishing around for something............oh my..........she tried not to laugh........it would have shown how nervous she was.

He held up a beautiful ring followed by some of the most endearing words, ones that she had waited for him to speak. All that he had done for this moment, his changing, the defenses of Aldera, protecting Alderaan and all she had done was love him in return. She did not think she would ever find someone she loved as much as Dar'yaim. The tenderness from the giant in the room, both men were so much more than their armor and she had the priviledge and honor to love them both.

She leaned forward, "Yes Draco, I will marry you, and stand by you." But the old way must also be observed it was important to her that they have both. She held our her hand for the ring for him to place it on her finger.

Draco exhaled with a hint of relief, sliding the ring on to her finger gently as she held her hand out for him to do so. He noticed his heart had been pounding in his chest. He had been nervous, rejected before and cast aside like a plaything himself, he couldn't say he wasn't a little worried after all they had experienced on Vena she would tell him not now. It didn't cross his mind that she would say no, but deep in his heart he worried she would be too hurt by what had happened to go through with a wedding.

He pulled himself up her chair, hovering over her, careful not to put any weight on her. She was fragile, and she was carrying his twins, his first born children in her belly. "I love you cyar'ika. With all my heart." His forehead touched hers softly and he kissed her, feeling her fire burn through him as they touched. She was fragile, but she was strong. His rock when he needed one. She was the only person he was truly comfortable with and in her presence he could feel at home.

His lips pressed against hers, breathing her in, stealing her essence as his hands found their way to her hips holding her gently. They had an eventful journey to this point in their adventure together. From the war on Roche and the accords that followed them. Alderaan's defense and secession from the Republic, and her rescue from the mountains of Alderaan. All that faded away and the future looked bright for them. They were young, they had children on the way, they were stable, and they had each other. All that he was worried about right now was making her happy, making her relax, and making her comfortable.

The Mandalorian hoped he would be what she deserved, though he had trouble believing it sometimes. Sometimes loving him would be painful and it would cut him like a knife. Sometimes loving him would make her heart ache when he left her to fight, and his pain would radiate from his heart. But he would be the best husband he knew how to be for her. The ring she wore would bring her comfort when they were forced apart, letting her feel him across the ocean of stars, and he her.
