Ura had hitched a ride with Caedyn when she heard about everything that was happening. She knew full and well what the Sith could do, but she'd also helped the rangers before. She listened quietly to what the Knight and Master had to say. She'd trained in the Yurbian militia before coming to the Jedi. She knew what combat meant, but this would be the first time she did something like this. Well, other than the undead troopers, but that was something she wanted to forget. Ura hand brought her lightsaber to the surface of her arm, giving a quick check as she looked around. Best not have it be broken before even fighting. She wasn't fearful right now, though she did wonder if anyone else she knew had come along.

She looked at everyone there, standing and nodding as they noted that lethal force should be limited, and let her saber seem to be reabsorbed into her arm. "I'll do my best Master Med-Beq, Knight Arenais." She then sighed a little. "Just hope I don't scare any kids off."

Normally, the Lady of Secrets could care less about yet another of the Empire's child-napping operations. She especially didn't care after everything that occurred on Moridinae, but she had recovered enough that she had gone along with the incursion. Eldaah and her Paradox Adepts were overseeing the mobilization, and truth be told, quiet expansion of her power base and the next generation of Sithspawn and other experiments. She was, for all intents and purposes, still getting back up to speed after weeks of recovery from her surgery and the overwhelming grief. And what better way to once again get out of the house than to study the another species.

The native insectoids of the planet were still rare, perhaps not as much as they had been during the time of Sidious, but their numbers were not great. She had no interest in culling the population, but the criminals... they were fair game. Researchers and geneticists around her, Taeli was fully engrossed in studying the internals of one unfortunate Velmoc when the alarms started going off.

"Never a dull moment," she sighed. The Silver Jedi Order and allies were likely arriving. What a bother. "Begin loading the rest of the subjects onto the transports and begin evacuation procedures."

"At once, my Lady."

Taeli turned back to the subject on the table, sighed, and activated the acid sprinklers to eliminate the body. Such a waste.

The hangar deck of the Chariot-Class Transport Frigate "Deliverer" bustled with activity. The Silver Jedi were meeting with K Kaine Australis , the Alor of the Australis clan of Mandalorians and one of the more famed and storied generals of recent times. Until only a short time ago, the Mandalorian clans had been enemies of the Silver Jedi. Then the Sith had taken their homeworld from them and rendered the proud warrior race low.

Beltran stood behind the group of Jedi who'd come to take delivery of several crates of weapons from the Mandalorian, arrayed in a single rank with the members of Icarus Platoon's first squad. They were hear to provide security, since apparently the Jedi felt the need to flex some muscle over the lone Mandalorian warrior. To the Lorrdian Lieutenant it seemed a little overkill, but they signed his pay cheque so he went where he was told.

When the Mandalorian General was invited to inspect the troops, an offer made to Australis by the Colonel of the 666th Mechanized who were stationed on board the Deliverer, Beltran felt more than saw some of his people shift in annoyance. They didn't like being treated like common rank and file troops, and they didn't like officers from outside their chain of command making choices for them.

Icarus Platoon, though berthed currently on the Deliverer, was a highly trained special operations unit. Technically it fell under the command of the 5th Rangers Special Operations Group rather than NORCOM - Northern Command which oversaw the 666th. But more basic than that, Beltran knew that his people didn't like being given orders because no special operators liked being given orders. One did not rise to the level that they operated on by easily fitting into the mold, but Beltran wasn't about to allow their prickly natures to make the Antarian Rangers look unprofessional so after a beat, he bellowed.

"Squad! Atten....tion!"

Then twelve members of Beltran's premier squad quickly snapped to as reflexes, and respect for his leadership if not the Colonel's, overrode their annoyance. As Australis, the handful of Jedi and the Devildogs' C.O. walked the line of them, they remained focused and disciplined. From behind his helmet, Beltran watched Kaine and took stock of the way the larger man moved. They had actually fought once, one on one, as part of a contest years ago. It was one of the few times in Beltran's life that he'd been bested in hand-to-hand. Perhaps when the deal was done, he'd challenge Kaine to a sparring match, see if he could at least tie things up.

But no sooner than the thought had entered the Lorrdian's mind, did the alarm klaxons on board the Deliverer sound, calling everyone to battle stations. Overhead, the tinny voice of the ship's X.O. sounded over the intercom. "Now hear this, now hear this. We've received a distress signal from the planet Velmor. Our outpost there is being overrun by Sith invaders and the nearby city of Den Velmor is also under attack. There are reports that the Sith are kidnapping children there. We are entering hyperspace to respond, along with all other Silver assets in the area. ETA, 40 minutes. Devildogs, mount up and prepare for drop. Icarus, do the same. Dropship assignments are being sent to team leaders now. X.O., out."

No sooner than the message had finished did the HUD in Beltran's helmet light up with the required information. To his right, Sergeant Lota - who as Squad commander would also be privy to the assignment details, called out her authoritative voice cutting through the barely restrained chaos of the hangar deck. "First squad! Load up on Arch-Angel 2-1!" The Zeltron waved toward an Arch-Angel Dropship located down the opposite end of the deck. "Move your backsides! Move! Move!"

As the men under her command moved off at a jog, Beltran followed them at a brisk walk. He was busy issuing orders to the remainder of his people and generally getting a feel for the whole ad hoc operation via his HUD. As he passed by Kaine's ship, the Mandalorian walked down it's boarding ramp in full combat gear.

"I reckon you could use one more shooter."

Beltran didn't bother waiting for the Jedi, or the Devildog's Colonel to answer before he spoke up. "Absolutely," He said. "It would be good to have you, Alor Australis. If you'll follow me..."

Breaking into an easy jog of his own, Beltran would lead Kaine to Icarus' dropship and mount up. Within the 40 minute timeline, the Deliverer would drop out of hyperspace over the planet Velmor and the dropship, along with more than a dozen others would lift off and head into orbit. Some would split off toward Outpost Zulu, while Beltran's ship would head to Den Velmor and the site of the Sith incursion there.

"We'll be dropping from above, use jump jets to land and form a perimeter." Beltran informed the unit. He didn't have to worry that the Mandalorian didn't have jump jets. Mandalorians had basically invented the concept of jet-pack warfare. "Then we'll move through the city. Our job is to eliminate any Sith we encounter with extreme prejudice. Try to minimize collateral damage, and be sure that none of the children are caught in the cross-fire, but I want to see a whole pile of dead Sith today. That's priority number one!"

His soldiers acknowledged their orders and when they reached their drop point, the ship slowed and the boarding ramp descended. Ever the leader, Beltran was the first to jump, pausing to glance at the Mandalorian who'd joined them for a brief moment.

"See you down there, General."

"And what do you want to be when you grow up?"

Sniffle, sniffle. More tears. "A-ah... a fireman."

Lyka reached up to gently ruffle the little boy's hair. Scarlet eyes traveled upwards to meet that of his parents, who were currently also panic-stricken at the sight of their city. Not to mention the half a dozen Imperial legionnaires that had their weapons trained on them. Backs to the duracrete wall with nowhere else to go - especially now that their home was being burnt to a crisp by the spreading fires. Photo albums, family furniture, all of their clothes and belongings. Gone, all of it.

"I am quite sure the empire could use an outstanding firefighter such as yourself. We can make that happen." A tender smile caressed his lips. "Is that something you would like?"

The nodded his head furiously, wiping away the tears and snot covering his face. "Yes.."

"Good lad!" Lyka patted him on the shoulder and motioned to the legionnaire next to him. "Put him on shuttle two."

Quickly, despite the crying protests of the child, he was grabbed by a pair of the troopers and hastily led away. Time was of the essence, especially now that half of Den Volmor was ablaze. Acrid smoke already filled the air, burning eyes and lungs when the flames could not. They grew ever closer with each passing second. Lyka coughed once and fanned away the blackened air, turning his attention to the parents still against the wall.

"Sergeant," he said dryly, as if the soldier already knew what to do to.

Blaster shots rang out and two bodies dropped to the ground, smoldering.

After all of their cooperation, a quick and painless death would be their merciful ending. He assumed it was far more preferable to being burned alive or dying of smoke inhalation.

She Left Behind A Legacy
[youtube]

She'd accompanied Major Stazi on her vessel, Jade's Triumph, here after an earlier rendezvous -- she highly respected him on the field and would work with or under him any day.

Her knees buckled; The lock popped, the hinges went through a cycle before the door actually popped open and the pressures of air filled the passenger bay with uneasiness. Gripping the safety handle, she made herself immovable as the ship hovered over their position. Freed from the shadows of being pinned up, she etched along the edge while hovering in place. Her nostrils flared, and her chest grew static in reaction to the drastically humid air. Pulling back, "Alright. Stazi's men have dropped" her hair flailing about in the currents picked up. The 91st Sentinel, put together to serve under Jedi Master Romi Jade after her return from the clutches of the Sith Empire, would have to work this steadily, but they'd have better chances on the surface.

Specifically at her back was the 41st Infantry "Jade's Sabre" -- a standard light infantry formation of four line squads for a total of 36 troopers, and were conditioned to work with partners whenever possible.

"Back them up!"

She spearheaded the groups deployment with a drop, fastening her harness before she vaulted off the edge into freefall.

-------

A cascade of blaster bolts sweep across the dune, Jade expectedly dropped down onto the surface below, and Sabre followed. Flanking from the side, she pivoted around creating a fan of scarlet light that came slicing through whatever bolts it could find; she helped provide some cover for the rest of the company in their descent.

They raced past her, bringing their blaster rifles up to fire. She sprang up behind them with some more rounds flashing past her corkscrewing body, so close that the sting of its heat crept across her skin. She twisted into another whorl, her wrists turning almost of their own accord as she swung her lightsaber around to catch the next bolt.

Slashing in a leveled fashion with her blade, she melted the barrel of a commandos rifle before her kick took him in the side of the head. It was certainly not powerful enough to damage his armor, but a lot of kinetic force was transmitted through the helmet, rocking the man's head. He staggered and fell backwards.

"Link up with the rebels!"

Whatever the Dark Councilor thought of war, it was the very authority in which this galaxy was melted down and hammered into shape several thousands of times over. Politics by other means, Tavlar sought to sow an early victory just as he sought to make a statement to the Sith. Win or lose, the traitor General was not on the run. He was not going to wait in neutral space for his grace Darth Carnifex Darth Carnifex to root him out and rip him limb from limb. His display on Bastion was no tantrum, it was his public vow of treason and rebellion against the government and nation to which he'd spilled his lifeblood for several times over.

"Sir - scanners showing they're diverting a contingent back to reinforce the city." One of Tavlar's command squad subordinates offered, speaking through the muffled comms of his helmet and offering a flat hand pointed down range in the direction of the retreating element. As Tavlar's squad halted temporarily behind a pile of molten rubble compromised on stone and steel.

"We're not following them - I'm not risking us getting encircled. We're closing the gap and taking this position. If we still don't have visual of Giedfield then we're on the move again. For now- maulers." Tavlar ordered in reply, padding a closed fist against his advisor's armored shoulder before soon enough the stormtroopers moved up once more in a unified maneuver before settling into hard cover once more.

The mailed fist of Deathshead swiftly proved a mismatch in its favor in the first moments of its engagement with Cognus. The legionnaires clad in black and green found themselves quick and easy pray to weapons like the AT-SAT who fired off toward the fortified positions they took up in buildings with a steady rapid-fire thuds from its twin linked auto cannons.

Hyper velocity mass driver rounds warped, caved in and punched through the walls of the buildings the Sith-Imperial troopers took hold in, throwing high explosive rounds through the fortifications to a potentially devestating effect as the walkers advanced in tow with the infantry utilizing the forward advance of SD-60x battle droids to absorb a great deal of the anti-personnel ordinance headed its direction. The layered composite armor responding with characteristic cracks and thuds as ion and blaster rounds slammed against them for long enough until stormtroopers were able to lay down supporting fire with heavy and special weapons in the close range combat until several of the battle droids caved from the overwhelming firepower.

Once Tavlar's legion closed the gap the fighting devolved into a tense and loud firefight. Rotary cannons and blasters snapped at the air between the fortified Cognus and the advancing Deathshead -- a staunch reprieve given in Tavlar's favor as the mailed fist continued to offer crushing firepower. One building holding up a squad of Cognus troopers in particular caving in on itself after an AT-TD landed a thunderous round into one of the remaining crucial supports of the structure, enveloping the surrounding area in a cloud of ashen urban dust.

This long range engagement crawled down a vicious spiral into the depths of close quarters battle. Slight mis placings landing several Stormtroopers in close proximity to Cognus legionnaires who drew power swords capable of eviscerating the New Imperial approach if they weren't prepared though - the power swords offered nothing at all to the devastatingly potent plasma throwers fitted to the hulking battle droids whenever they came upon them.

Whenever Kascalion threw himself into the shadow of the Traitor General, he would bare close witness to a concussive round from his
side-arm caving in the helmet of a legionnaire, offering a last peak at the disfigured and bloodied death ridden gaze beneath before Tavlar threw him to the ground and out of his way, peeling out of the alley-way as his hand joined the other in gripping the pistol, his charric rifle slung over his chest he 'sliced the pie' before peeling fully away from the corner wall of the flanking structure. Coming into a corner of singular isolation from the battle that raged around them. Dreadfully silent.

Glancing up, the Lord of the Lash could sense the pinpricks of light moving through the atmosphere. The Jedi were here, at long last, and Thuyrn's mouth split open wide in a vile rictus grin as his mind was filled with the thoughts of vengeance. He turned to the Sith-Imperial officer accompanying him and pointed, "Draw them in, butcher a tenth of the prisoners. Spare the children, the Emperor desires them for the project." The officer saluted, noticeable young and having been thoroughly indoctrinated by ORDIS and the Dark Side of the Force, and repeated the Sith Lord's order into his communicator. Unlike some of the old guard in the Sith-Imperial military, the younger officers had been brought up in a society that revered and even worshipped the Sith Lords that made up only a small percentage of the Empire. They were joined by the experienced commanders who had served the Sith during the One Sith period and even earlier during the previous Sith Empire in this part of the galaxy.
Those who had broken away from the Empire constituted a small percentage, mostly officers of middling age who had served other governments before joining the Empire. Their oaths of loyalty meant very little when their allegiances could be swayed so easily, and they were to be destroyed with all prejudice. A rabid dog that has bitten once will bite again, there could be no guarantee that they would stay loyal even if offered clemency. What was even more reprehensible was the defection of a small group of Sith, who had been bought by deceit and made to serve a false prophet. They would surely suffer above all others.
Thuyrn mused on these chains of thought for a moment longer before he made to leave the command station, though he was stopped by his holo communicator alerting him on an incoming message. He tossed the device to the ground, which automatically hovered and began to project an image, the image of the Eye of the Dark Lord; Darth Isolda. Immediately, Thuyrn fell to one knee as did everyone else in the station, their heads bent low in subservience reverence. "Blessed Eye, by what means can this proud servant of the Dark Side serve?"
Isolda had been a fervent follower of the Sith for longer than most others, her skills appreciated by many Dark Lords. She had come to serve the Emperor after he had freed her from imprisonment on Tython, and it was said that they had been old acquaintances in the days of the One Sith. She had served as the counterpart to Voyance, the Arch-Heretic, as one of the Emperor's premier oracles and visionaries. Now she served alone, but her powers far exceeded that of Voyance and any other oracle in the Empire and possibly beyond.
"Lord Thuyrn, the strands of fate glisten with blood. I have peered into the web of the Force and have seen what will occur on Velmor. A traitor stalks among the ranks of the faithful, one who was exalted above others but now crawls among the dirt. In time, the Lion will be tested."
Then the image of Isolda faded, and those in the station were left to puzzle over her cryptic prophecy. Though many would not understand, Thuyrn could piece together some of what she had told them. He turned again to the same officer from before, "Get me Kascalion."

A droid approached Gin. Gin could see the small forward force. He could hear the battle sounds. "Sir! They are inserting troops into our lines from above. Their gunships are firing on our troops and on our mines!" Th.e droid reported. Gin clasped his hands together. "Just as I calculated. This is merely the force to distract us and stall for time. They will all die." He said. "Shoot down their ships. Have the droids move freely to combat the enemies, so that their ships cannot easily target ours, and make it easier to eliminate their ground forces. Position the mines so that when they explode, they will not hit the others. Send commando droids from the auxiliary force move through our lines to wipe out their drop troopers." Gin said.

He then calculated their next move. "Lieutenant, have some troops dig pits, then throw anything flammable in there. We want large pits, with a lot of flammable items in there. Then, light the items on fire. The smoke from the pits will make it harder for their troops to land, and make it harder for their gunships to fire on us. We will be able to scan and detect them, and they will not be able to see us." Gin told the droid. The droid nodded and ran off to go and make sure his orders were followed. Gin was exploiting the sight of the Jedi's forces, most species put a heavy reliability on their sight, and with less visibility they will have a harder time.

The anti-aircraft cannons turned on the dropships and the gunships, and fired. The tanks also used their main cannon to target the ships. The droids on the ground equipped with rocket launchers also targeted the ships. Gin's tank's main cannon aimed at a dropship. He pressed a button, and it fired. The bolt collided with the ship, and the dropship exploded in a ball of flames and went down. Gin noticed other dropships and gunships suffering the same fate. This attack was futile, surely this would be suicide for the Jedi.

Meanwhile, the droids on the ground were fighting against the troops dropping into their lines. The battle droids moved through their lines, breaking out of formations, to engage the Jedi forces. At the same time, Gin was coordinating with the battle droids, telling them where to go and how to fight.

HJ-982, maintain heavy fire on the enemy forces.

Platoon A-63, maintain formation, and counter attack rebel forces.

Squad J-56, spread out, maintain spacing.

Speeder bike squadron O-Delta, deploy.

Tank 11-378, focus fire on U-Wing gunship at designated coordinates.

Gin was concentrating on the battle at hand, commanding forces out loud, and commanding them from within. Thank the maker for a lot of processing power. Then, a corvette appeared, firing on their troops. It was low, close to the ground, and within firing range. Gin's tank and three others aimed at the corvette. Two anti-aircraft cannons also aimed at the ship. "Fire!" Gin ordered. The anti-aircraft turrets fired on the corvette, while the four tanks then fired their main cannons, repeatedly firing as fast as they could go, calculating where they had to shoot to bring it down. Gin's tank fired on the corvette.

And so let the chaos begin.

Silver Jedi Objective:
Den Velmor is being overrun by forces of The Sith Empire. Civilians are being killed and the young are being enslaved for future service to the Emperor's legions of Darkness. This cannot be allowed! Fight for the people of Velmor and beat back the tyranny of the Sith!

gUZOFrx.png

The Antarian Rangers lead the way down through the shaken structure, Caedyn watching as the Repertoire blasted off to rendezvous with the rest of the Silver Jedi Fleet before turning to follow Ura Iolar Ura Iolar down. The building was empty, civilians having possibly fled as the interior was void of burning or scorch marks alike the others the Sith had lit up with their flame troopers.

"The Lightside of the Force can be a welcoming embrace, Ura" Caedyn assured the Silver Padawan, "If you have trouble with the younglings, envelop them in a calming aura much like the tree of life back on Kashyyyk that I showed you all" the young Jedi Knight smiled to the Yurbian Jedi; "They will not fear compassion in the face of such violence and death" he added, his smile fading before turning to see the Antarian Rangers breaching the building's exterior and falling out into the street. Already the screams had grown louder, the fear and terror of the civilian populace wrought by the continuing onslaught of the Sith Empire.

Drawing his Lightsaber from his belt, Caedyn moved in tow behind the Rangers, stepping out into the open light and the wide clearing that was the City streets to play witness to the chaotic state of the battle's front-lines; Peoples homes and livelihood torn asunder.

"Movement!" one of the Rangers exclaimed.

"Hold your fire, they're Civilian!" came the instructions of their Commanding Officer. A small group of men and women running towards them, all looking as though they'd slogged their way through the burning buildings in the distance, however soon accompanied by blaster-fire blazing through the smokey distance, the Sith Legionaires not far behind them and on the hunt.

"Enemy contact, protect the civilians. Engage at will!".

Caedyn's Lightsaber flared to life, the blue blade streaming out into a controlled beam that illuminated the ground floor around him, a beacon within the darkness. Moving ahead of the Troopers though keeping clear of their line of sight, he sought to meet the Civilian's half way so that they might pass him, and he be able to fend off any stray blaster bolts that sought to cut them down.

"We need an EVAC Station on site! Ura, get on the Comm's to whoever's in command and find out where the Civilian's are being shipped out!".

Isaiah was tasked with rounding up the youth of the city. He was tasked with a battalion of Purification Legionnaires and was overseeing the abduction efforts of a specific neighborhood within the city. Apparently there were some force sensitive children somewhere on the block and he volunteered to go out and find them. Isaiah and one of his squads came across a small house in the middle of the street, he sensed a source of force energy emanating from the other side. Definitely a force sensitive child. Being the considerate person he was he rang the door bell and waited a couple seconds for someone to open the door for him. When no one came he did so again. It wasn't like they had anywhere they could go. Empire was all over the city. So instead attempted to speak through the door. "Hi hello. I'm Inquisitor Dax, I couldn't help but notice that someone in there had a notable connection to the force. If you turn them over I'll let the rest of you live... Just saying." Still there was nothing. So he looked to the Sergeant and motioned his head towards the door.

"Prepare for breaching maneuvers." He said as he and his men prepared to breach the door. Isaiah was waiting to the side with his arms cross while the legionnaires prepared themselves to enter the house. As one of the men planted a breach charge on the door he got into the position and the door blew open. As the legionnaires rushed in, Isaiah waited a bit for them to clear the place up. He heard a bit of screaming and furniture falling around until he heard "We have them sir." Cueing Isaiah to enter the house and saw a family of five, a mother, father, two boys, and one daughter all on their knees in the living room. Isaiah walked towards them and sighed. "You could've just handed em over but you made us to this the hard way. So here's how we're gonna do this. First the boys die." In the blink of an eye, Isaiah grabbed both sons with the force, pulling them in and shocked them enough until their hearts stopped. The rest of the family screaming as they lost two of their own flesh and blood. "I'm taking your daughter anyway. Might as well get used to loss now." Isaiah said futility trying to calm down the family who lost their own. Isaiah just stared at them as they screamed and cursed at him. "I'M GONNA KILL YOU, YOU SON OF A-" The father stood up cursing at Isaiah but he ignited his lightsaber in front of his chest and switched it off having an annoyed face looking at the mother who was holding her daughter. He sighed, this whole ordeal was a waste of time. "Shoot the mom." Isaiah said as he snatched the girl away and the legionnaires shot the mom in the back of the head. Isaiah used the force to knock out the girl and bring her to where the rest of the children were.

Isaiah and his squads reported back to the boulevard where a convoy was taking apprehended children. He gently handed her over to the handler of the transport, gently placing her in with the rest of the apprehended children.

The modified E-11s rifle was squeezed in eager hands. Someone, somewhere, just show up. Ruek needed a distraction, a point of focus to pull her anxious thoughts away from Den Velmor. The gray leather cape blanketed her back while she hunkered down in the rocky nest.

Ruek was motionless, having become an Imperial gargoyle perched on the cliffside. It betrayed the heated argument in her mind. Tast, the intangible other half, was raising hell within their shared mental space.

He was furious, "We saw what they were doing! You can't justify ANY of it!"

Above, soldiers poured out from a U-Wing. Perfect targets. She lined up her sights-- "Stop it! Just stop and think!"

The jolt of his voice broke her concentration, snapping the rifle just an inch from her original focus. Miss.

Her voice was tense, "We do not have time for this. We have--"

"Orders? We had orders in Den Velmor and you ran."

Ruek grit her teeth, slinking backwards from her spot to find an uncompromised location. Fire and fury exploded down below on the minefields and droid regiments. Droids. She didn't belong here with them.

"You can't lie so you're keeping silent." He pressed further, trying to urge Ruek to accept his conclusion.

Unwelcome memories bloomed with every step she took. They had landed on Velmor to aid with the detainment of "violent natives."

It was there she saw a beast clad in strange armor slaughtering the civilians and taking their children, all the while it ranted about freedom. Another masked man piled bodies in the streets without discretion and was confronted by a "blue," as Tast called light-siders. Ruek had abandoned her position. It was too much at once, an overload of her senses that triggered a need to escape. This was the Empire.

Armored feet were deft in their stride, carrying their owner down the mountain in a survivalist ballet. She crouched low and lifted the barrel of the rifle, aiming it at the enemy combatants.

A Duros fell within her sights, "We owe our Empire service." She pulled the trigger.

Black canvas gave way to a congealed mess of blues and greens. An entire world painted into existence across the infinite dark of space under a sea of speckling stars. Trails of red tore through the emptiness and in the distance splashed bright flames across the piece. One thousand. Another stroke of crimson reached out above the world and with it, the fire grew across the canvas. Two thousand. A twin surge of that same brilliant red and the portrait was consumed with a prominent fiery burn that outlived its predecessors. Four thousand. An estimated four thousand lives taken in mere moments.

The Silver Order's naval element had established itself; at first, it was but a flurry of arriving light cruisers and freighters were caught off guard, some with their shields depleted almost immediately by the Empire's many warships. The Relaimer had been focusing on those outliers and now they were but a cluster of wreckage in the distance. Lord Venari stood motionless in front of the bridge's viewport, taking in the magnificent visage. Despite their early victories, the Order's forces were slowly amassing to contend with the Imperial war machine. A heavy cruiser took the initiative and met the Tormentor-class Star Destroyer head on, "Captain Dorund, rid the galaxy of these arrogant fools," the Sith Lord commanded with a leisurely sweep of the arm.

"As you will, my lord. All forward ion cannons and turbolaser batteries focus fire," the good captain relayed. A brief exchange from the enemy vessel saw the Reclaimer shake as its shields flared to life. The two ships broke into a luminous waltz of plasma fire. The Silver Destroyer's shields gave first, a moment later and its hull had been breached. The molten edges of its wounds barely cooled before the ship burst and with it the Reclaimer's tally climbed in excess of nine thousand lives claimed. Victorious cheers circulated across the bridge. Improper etiquette, especially considering how far they were from finishing the fight, but he'd tolerate it. Victory was to be embraced even when expected.

"Well done Captain," beneath Vernari's helmet, a toothy grin.

"My lord, we've received word that the operation in Den Velmor is roughly halfway complete, though the Jedi rabble of amassed a defensive line and begun counter ops throughout the city. Outpost Zulu on the other hand has initiated the transcription of Silver Order assets, but their defenses just suffered losses at the hands of a stealth bombardment. Lastly, and I'm awaiting confirmation on this matter, but there may be Apostate forces at play." Dormund was a capable leader and exemplary captain. It was time they each do their part.

"Captain, prepare armored assets, I want AT-REs to tackle any heavies they drop and a complement of repulsor tanks to eliminate their mobility," Venari commanded with a spin, "Reinforce Outpost Zulu with fresh forces and position howitzers just outside of the city with a proper defensive line. Get a Barrage ready should Darth Abaddon require reinforcement. The Dark Councilor makes for a prime Apostate target. I want us to move fast and hit hard. You have command of the Reclaimer. Ready my shuttle, we're holding the capital until the harvest is complete," Venari continued marching out of the room.

"It will be done, my lord," Dormund said as the Sith Lord exited the bridge.

Behind him, Venari heard the officer shouting commands in preparation for both the Sith Lord's ground op and the growing naval engagement. Venari raised his comlink, "Vallaro, prep
your ship and follow my shuttle down. Make no mistake the harvest has grown into a committed field engagement," he spoke into the small device.

Black armored legionnaires marched across the brightly lit hangar and loaded into transport ships. Determination and vigor engraved in their every step, their very bones. His own personal shuttle sat alongside the Surreptitious, where his most trusted allies waited. They'd descend into the battlefield with him still. Venari marched up the loading ramp and boarded his shuttle, accompanied by fifteen of his best, including the Reclaimer's Colonel, Nej Waldar. With Dormund handling the battle above, Venari would have the Colonel organize operations below while the Sith Lord moved to where the carnage was greatest. One could not expect their subjects to commit fully without the beacon of leadership and strength at the front.

Without a word the shuttle lifted off with a shudder then plummeted into the deep dark of space. Venari braced himself against the co-pilot seat. A TIE escort took up the shuttle's flank with the Surreptitious trailing just behind. The Sith Lord informed his allies, "we will be landing by the Main Police Station. With its previous occupants removed, our forces are converting the building into a forward base. There are still pockets of resistance around the station so we start there."

The shuttle rocked as a lone enemy starfighter made a pass only to be shredded by the TIE fighter escort. Debris rained down alongside dozens of imperial dropships all beaming for the surface. Den Velmor would experience a downpour of Sith-Imperial might. The dark cascading swarm would snuff out the flickering hope they clutched so desperately clutched.

The invading force broke through the atmosphere, heavy turbulence rattled the transport every step of the way. The once blue skies above the capital were riddled with stacks of smoke stemming from the burning city. Piercing the dark veil saw the Imperial wave met with peppering blaster fire. The notorious whir of the TIEs echoed through the city as squadrons moved to intercept enemy crafts and set fire to Order occupied zones. Below, Venari could see some of his armored assets had landed, reducing enemy heavy speeders to burning debris. Across the city the battle was being fought. Resistance intensifying, many of the largest towers had been reduced to mounds of slag.

Four shuttles including Venari's landed in the former vehicle lot across the street from the station. Now it served as a staging area for the harvest. Legionnaires poured out of shuttle and secured the perimeter, "Colonel Waldar, take up in the police station and get caught up to speed. I want to find the enemy's head and relieve them the burden of thought." War was in the air, charged it with an electrical current so tense the Sith would feed off of.

Venari's gaze fixated on his allies' landing transport. It was going to be a long, bloody day. A canvas completely soaked in red.

Abaddon was not someone one would call stealthy. He had his brother to blame for that. He preferred to be upfront. Direct. In his opponent's face. Thus it only occurred to him, then, that this trait was humorously and distinctly contrasted by a number of things in his possession, namely his Cognus Legion, The Barrow, and his armor which he was currently using to great effect to stalk his prey in the form of Irveric Tavlar, former Lord General of the Sith Empire.

For a man who was considered to be the opposite of stealthy, he sure was succeeding at remaining unseen. What was not unseen, however, was Tavlar's barbaric slaughter of Imperial forces. Such was Abaddon's anger at this that the mere sight of the man leading his so-called New Imperial Order forces against the Empire, against Abaddon's own legion, was almost enough to drive a burning stake into his very soul.

He was never close to Tavlar, nor anyone in the Empire for that matter, but he could not stand betrayal, deceit, traitors. Interestingly, however, he was unable to understand why that was, even as he slowly stepped over the dust and grime and blood of the battlefield under his feet and around his body, corpses of Imperials strewn about like tiny hills of metal and flesh. Was it something he had missed in his nearly seven-hundred years of life? Something he had forgotten whilst incubating his powers upon Noxis all those decades ago? Was it something stolen from him within that void upon Credence? He could not figure out why this man's betrayal had harmed him so personally.

As it was, his confusion and increasing frustration incidentally lead to the voice speaking up once again, the same voice that he had heard during the fight against the Network. The deep, abyssal sound of something esoteric, eldrich, otherwordly. A voice he knew, and a voice he didn't.
How could he betray us? Doesn't he know that there is too much at risk to become treasonous? A coward. A man waiting to be devoured. His time will come. His heart, his bones, his soul will all become frozen and numb. Kill him. Kill him.

Abaddon ignored the voice as best he could as he drew near to the Warlord, retrieving the vibrolance that was hooked onto his back and lowering its tip to the ground, letting the blade scrape and carve through the dirt and muck. He stopped just short of the man who appeared titanic in his armor and his helmet's advanced sensors allowed the Dark Councilor to identify the components of the traitor's battle gear. A second was all it took to lead to the Devil Lion to scoff in surprise at the rather well-designed piece of equipment the traitor had donned for a relatively insignificant day. Beskar armor plating, cortosis overlayer, Ionic Insulating materials. The Devil Lion smirked under his helm as he deactivated the scanners to step in front of his target at enough distance to hold his lance aloft and press the blade's edge to the side of the Warlord's helm.

"You wear a finely crafted suit of metal, Lord Tavlar," Abaddon concurred with a chuckle upon deactivating his stealth systems to appear in full view to the traitor. "Shame that it will not help you this day....tell your men to stand down for I wish to have words before we engage in the inevitable unpleasantries destined to happen frequently between our two factions."

Reggie could see as well as feel what was going on Velmor through the force, especially as they approached the surface. There wouldn't be time to find a good place to land and make their way to the fight. "Simon, get as close as possible to the ground without taking serious damage from enemy forces. I'm going to jump straight into the chaos below. When I do, you retreat and make your way back with other SJO forces." They should have joined up with another force before coming. That's a mistake the Padawan would make sure not to make again in the future. For now, Reggie headed for the exit ramp.

The pilot came as close to the surface as possible without taking too much risk, which prompted Reggie to jump out of the ship. It wasn't too high of a drop, but was high enough to cause Reggie damage if he wasn't careful. The Padawan rolled as he hit the ground and used the momentum to run as he popped back up. Blaster fire came his way, which was met with the energy buckler attached to his left arm activating and blocking the incoming fire. He quickly closed the distance between him and the enemy, bringing up his staff to perform a serious of attacks to take them down. He went to cover soon after, and examined the area quickly. Action was vital here, so he couldn't think for too long. He brought up the shield and moved towards some enemies that were trying to gather the children, using the force to pull the opponents in front of him away from the children and towards himself, attacking with his staff to take them down.

With that, he went to the small group of children who were afraid of the horrors around them. Reggie went to comfort them. "Don't worry young ones, i'm here to protect you. Stick with me and i'll get you to safety."

Allies: Whoever doesn't want to abduct her

Enemies: Whoever wants to abduct her

Goal: Don’t get abducted

Moira ducked inside a burnt out husk of a building, knowing the Sith patrol would soon be on its way. They made they’re way down the streets combing the rubble and wreckage for survivors, or if she assumed correctly, stealing the youth. Now, she was never the most observant, but she could make the assumption that she might be on the table to steal. After what felt like an eternity the patrol continued down the street, satisfied that they cleared the sector. Moira sighed, it had been a long night of dodging patrols and avoiding conflict. She was growing tired of being the mouse, there were too many cats waiting to catch a whiff of her. She looked around, there wouldn’t be another patrol for some time. In the meantime she should try to find a way off this rock. In retrospect she wasn’t even sure why she came here, maybe it seemed like a good idea at the time. However hours of running and hiding had worn down her memory to just that, running and hiding.

She made her way to the top of a nearby tower, there she could get a vantage point and come up with a semblance of a plan that didn’t end with her in chains. At the top she looked around, the immediate part of the city was in flames. What wasn’t on fire was in ruins, it was apparent the Sith were done searching this section and were keeping it clear of dissenters. She had to move to an area that wasn’t on fire, or maybe she could steal a ship that wasn’t destroyed at some dock around here. She sat on the roof weighing her options, she couldn’t stay here until things were sorted out. Someone was going to notice after an hour or so, she already checked.

“Well, I have to do something, I can’t just sit here and cry on a tower.” she muttered.

Word had to have gotten out about this, right? Surely all of these shuttles and ships weren’t all Sith. there was open fighting in the distance, her Contacts were telling her it was 3 Kilometers away. Maybe if she went there she could at least find someone friendly. Unfortunately she’d have to avoid Patrols still, and when she got closer she’d have to keep an eye out for conflict. She would have to remain out of sight. Using a mix of Precognition and her small size this shouldn’t be all too bad.

Moira checked her gear one last time. She brought her two sidearms, and her Gauntlet. Her clothes were still in one piece, and of course her Shotosaber.

She turned her Axes back on, her day had just gotten much longer.

"It appears that some Sith elements have been... engaging each other?" one of the ELINT officers reported in.

"Signal traffic analysis is underway, and we are looking for areas with high traffic density. With any luck, one of these areas are the main collection point for the children"

"Then we need to draw as much fire away from the children, the civilians more generally, as we can get while keeping any lethal force surgical and precise. Intercept the child convoy in the boulevard by any means necessary, while dropping ion bombs on the police headquarters as a diversion!"

Several such spots have been identified: the police headquarters (where Lord Venari Lord Venari made landfall), Outpost Zulu, and, of course a major convoy by one of the city's main boulevards. Of course the enemy burned whatever they could, but then time was short to intercept the convoy, even with the enemy AA defenses being disabled in a different area of the city. In fact, the first wave of shock troops met with several smaller patrols carrying children in tow, while some of them were closing in on the police headquarters. For now, the main convoy of children would have ion bombs dropped on, which could cause some weapons to short out, especially on infantry, but also on other vehicles (the firepower kill), freeze the mechanized units in place (the mobility kill) or and then force the enemy units escorting the convoy to engage Jedi forces at point-blank. While Silver snipers could pick them off in their approach. Meanwhile, main battle tanks, MLRS units, and other artillery equipment were making their preparations for landing, alongside more infantry units, while the medvac units were busy taking in some civilians that suffered from respiratory problems caused by the smoke of the city being set on fire.

Objective 2: Guard the Outpost

Grappling hook (attached to side.)
Encrypted comms.

There were a number of incoming factors. The enemy forces were moving in, a large ship was attacking and being attacked in turn. But what Poker recognized, was his target. Romi Jade Romi Jade and drop troopers were coming down. Focus on the troopers first, then on her. The commando droid leapt from his position the CR-1 Blaster Rifle firing precise shots at her allies intent on hitting them where their armor was weakest repeatedly before moving onto whoever he thought would be aiming at him next. If he saw anyone looking like they might be able to get a good shot in, the droid would leap into the air, preforming a sideways spin with his legs tucked together as he kept his sights on his enemies. He'd be able to recoup his accuracy much faster than most organics would after moves like that. So it cost much less to preform the evasive maneuvers like that keeping him firing more often than an enemy did when trying to escape fire. The fast firing would eventually heat up the weapon. But that would be more problematic for organics also, less him.

However, his focus wasn't just to shoot down as many troops as possible. It was to close in on the Jedi. Jedi were levels up from an average trooper, and as a result, leaving them alone wasn't necessarily a good choice unless you could eliminate their allies at a far faster rate. But if he could go after her, even if it only distracted her, it would mean she couldn't help her troops. That's what the electro staff was for.

He continued to move closer, maintain fire on her allies instead of her. After-all why try and shoot someone if they're just going to deflect it back at you? It just wasn't logical thinking. And he didn't have grenade on him to send her way. So his best chance, get close and switch to the electro staff. Silent as he was. There was something clearly different about his head movements. Most droids of his model relied on doing their job, but doing it very well. Poker however kept looking for wreckage, looking at weapons, and considering. He was thinking. If only there was something explosive next to the Jedi, maybe he could shoot it to take her out. Maybe he could throw something at her. Or maybe he could...? No there weren't many options right now. Just get close.

He removed the electro staff from his back replacing it with the blaster rifle and activating the weapon. However unlike most staffs, there was almost complete silence from it. Then Poker did what made it clear he was just a little bit damaged, he held out a hand and clenched and unclenched his fingers towards her, as if taunting her to come at him. Followed immediately by a full sprint towards her spinning the weapon with both hands to try and prevent blaster fire from getting to him intent on ramming one side in a jab towards her. While there were certainly jedi who outmatched commando droids, he was definitely a good deal faster than most humans. And could use more unconventional movements of the joints than they could.

Smoke filled The Surreptitious's cockpit. The smell of tabacc was inescapable despite oxygen reprocessers fighting to clear the air of pollutants. Vallaro sat at the helm, his feet up on the console. A frantic tapping could be heard as he tapped his fingers impatiently against the armrest. The Epicanthix was restless. No longer sure of how long he’d been there waiting he measured time by the number of cigarra he’d gone through just sitting there waiting. Five cigarra turned into six when finally, the comms of the ship came alive. They had exited hyperspace and were now engaging the Jedi en route to Valmor.

Outside the hangar bay of The Reclaimer where his ship stood motionless, a war raged on. Lives by the thousands were extinguished by the barking of orders and the push of a button. He tapped into the sensor feed from The Reclaimer. Hundreds of ships danced in the darkness as the fleets gathered and battle lines were drawn in the void. The hairs on his body stood on end as anticipation coursed through his veins. “We’re almost there,” he thought as he watched the sensors with anticipation. He hated being cooped up in his ship with nothing more to do than destroy his lungs one addiction at a time. The comms came to life once more: the waiting was over.

“We got ya,” He replied. “I can tell from here. Sure is one hell of an engagement.” Terminating the comms and switching over the ship’s Internal speakers he addressed his crew “Alright boys, we’re going in. Get your gear ready. It’s going to be a wild one.”

From his starboard cameras, Vallaro watched as Venari’s troopers loaded into their transports. It was a relief to not have them aboard The Surreptitious for a change. The Sith Lord’s troops had a nasty habit of always breaking something when they were aboard, and it was no accident. Motion was picked up Portside as Venari entered his personal transport with a select few crew. Almost in unison the transports took off and made way towards the planet. Vallaro and his crew followed behind. The Surreptitious lived up to its namesake, vanishing from sight as adaptive camo and stealth systems engaged.

Turbulence shook the ship as they broke atmosphere. “Initiating blackout,” He said over comms and he activated the ship's communication jammers. “Empire frequencies should remain unaffected, but we need to move fast. Even a full tank this thing’s a guzzler.” Pillars of smoke and the screaming of Ion Engines served to amplify the ship's already considerable stealth capabilities. Vallaro began to slow his descent, pulling away from Venari’s transports to perform overwatch duties as the Sith Lord landed.

Sensors picked up ships in the distance. A small bomber squadron was headed their way, no doubt attempting to neutralize assets on the ground. “Naughty naughty.” Vallaro punched the ship into action and headed the squadron off. Maintaining a near collision course he approached, his eyes glued to the sensors until he was within range. “Dodge this,” he murmured as a trio of concussion missile was released. The impacts were head-on and the bombers where no more than scrap metal raining to the ground. “Now try that again,” Vallaro growled as he slapped on comms, patching into imperial frequencies. “This is Vallaro Kindall speaking on behalf of Lord Venari. Get TIE squadrons to the police station. Don’t let those damn Jedi have an inch of our airspace!”

The Surreptitious swung around and made way back towards the police station, securing a landing spot with the rest of the Venari’s troops. Vallaro spun out of his chair and made way to the ramp exit ramp. “Time to earn our keep,” he said to his crew as he walked. Finally on the ground, he could feel the tension all around him. His pupils dilated as adrenalin surged. He was more than ready. Years of military service had made him accustomed to conflicts like this. Twisted darkness within caused the hunter to like them too. With a pneumatic hiss, the ramp dropped. As he examined the area, he took a drag from his cigarra.

“The AO’s a chitstorm.” He exhaled. Thick smoke evacuating his lungs.

Imperial Warlord of the Redoubt Governorate
//LOCATION:// High-Altitude Atmospheric Approach Above Den Volmer
//OBJECTIVE:// Intercept Youths Being Abducted By Sith Imperial Forces
//ENEMIES:// Sith-Imperials [OPEN TO PROPOSITIONS]

The bowels of the Sentinel-Class Transport Dropship rattled and echoed mechanical wheezes as it pierced the upper atmosphere of Velmor. The transport hold was bathed in a red light as low-energy output mode was enforced to reduce energy signatures on their approach to Den Volmer City. The interior was lined with a set of benches mounted to either wall of the hull. Sat in rows were members of the First Imperial Force Corps Knights Corp “Aegis Primaris”.

Seated the Force Corp Knights where dressed in white armor and black bodyweave enforced body suits. Some checked with their weapons, others inspected their lightsabers, while a few were quiet and bathed in the calm of Force infused tranquil meditation. Sat at the far end of the transport hold was their commander, the High Knight Marshal of all the Force Corps, the Chiss Zovesa.

DuqZyam.png
Seated on a bench that that faced the entire hold, she was adjusting the combat vest [pictured left] that was strapped to her breastplate armor. She inspected and methodically adjusted the very magazine pouches and equipment satchels that were festooned to the vest. Ending her militaristic ceremonial equipment check she placed the last and most precious piece of equipment into a shoulder mounted pouch on the strap of her vest – her lightsaber.

Clean, polished chrome with a utilitarian style. It represented who the Force Corps were. They were soldiers first and Forcers second. Stripped of pompous religiosity and impractical morale platitudes. A force of direct and disciplined action. Zovesa reflected on this as she fastened the strap that enclosed the saber into the pouch, then picked up the blaster assault rifle by her side and couched it with her forearm against her body. Standing, Zovesa marched to the center of the hold.

When she did so, the other members of the First Knights Corp raised their head and came to attention. Zovesa passed her glance at each of them, silently commanding their attention with her fiery red eyes. She raised her hand and tapped the side of her vest, where a Prowler Droid was docked into a hanging panel that flapped over the side of her thigh. The droid blinked its lenses awake and beamed light in activation. It detached from its docking and floated above and over her to the space in front.

“Spitz,” Zovesa called to the droid.

“Operation Phase-One,” said Zovesa continuing, “Protocol Sigma-Two. Display.”

The large central lens eye blinked in confirmation and a smaller lens eye beside it spat out a holoprojected map. Its grainy image reverberated in place and shook as it refined the image. The blue ghostly projection became a sprawling tactical map of Den Volmer city. A cuticle moved about the map highlighting key geographical positions and opened data-windows that streamed information above each location. Zovesa turned away from the holomap and pace above the perimeter of the hold debriefing her corp.

“Aegis,” she addressed them, “This is the sitch, the Sith are conducting full scale abduction and cleansing of the local population. Our objective is to stop this. So we are going in hot and personal.”

“That is why we are opting for immediate infiltration.”

“This transport will remain at an altitude high in the atmosphere above localized sensory observation, from which at this altitude we will execute a HALO jet-jump into the city.”

“Once we are in the city will provide tactical overwatch for the joining military personnel assaulting the city.”

Zovesa stopped her pacing and turned about to face her entire corp.

“I was once snatched by those vile monsters. Pressed into their ritualistic abasement for the sack of their twisted infatuations,” Zovesa growled.

“I will not tolerate one more soul in that hell. Understood?”

A deep silence fell upon the gathered. It was interrupted by a call from the pilot’s quarters.

“T-minus 5’til LZ, High Knight Marshal,” the voice echoing from the comms said.

“Copy,” Zovesa flatly replied.

“Gear up. We drop in 5,” she said to her corp, before recalling her Prowler to its dock and putting on a jetpack.

When the time came, the claxons blazed booming echoes and counted the seconds with their shreiks. Equipped with jet-packs the Corp lined up in three columns. A loud ring clattered a loud signal for the go ahead. The gangplank slid open and a rush of atmosphere vapor flooded the hold. Zovesa gave the signal with her hand, thusting it outward to point to the empty skies. One by one, column by column lead, the members of the First Knights Corp dove off the gangplank and executed their HALO Jump. Zovesa was the last, she paused for a quiet muttering to herself and rushed off the gangplank into the skies.

In the skies they separated into groups of three and nose dived, free-falling without the assistance of the jetpacks. When they reached an altitude where they knew the sensors would blip, even though how small they were, Zovesa gave the hand signal for the jetpacks to be activated. Using them they sped their descent and covertly blasted their way down into the urban sprawl of the city. Landing on building roofs and quickly conducting combat landing rolls to brace for landing and springing into cover. Zovesa rolled into a rooftop ventilation tower and crouched behind it. Wrestling her assault rifle into her arms she whispered at her Prowler Droid Spitz to awake once more and drift out to conduct reconnaissance imaging.

"It's okay boy! We will be back in no time I promise!" Leon said as he gave his dog Mira her last few belly rubs before they left for the mission "Now you be a good girl for Uncle Venari's crew and don't cause any trouble!" It was with those words that The gigantic dog took off looking for treats and belly rubs from the crew of Lord Venari's ship.

With his good-byes all said and done and the ship exiting hyperspace, The Murderhawke vanished into his ship to prepare for the battle ahead. Leon had always enjoyed this part, the silent meditation and contemplation of the battle ahead as he donned his armor and readied his weapons made the Mandalorian giddy with anticipation. He wondered, as he checked his weapons, if there would be anyone strong enough to give him a half decent fight. Surely there was someone among the Jedi's rank that would be willing to entertain him for the day!

With one final check Leon headed off his ship and Immediately over to The Surreptitious where Vallaro was waiting. A loud rhythmic clang echoed throughout The Surreptitious as The Murderhawke made his way to the cockpit "The Murderhawke Hopes that we all make it back Alive and hungry" His voice bellowed throughout the comms of his friends "The Murderhawke is making Bantha Burgers tonight" With those words, Leon's persona faded away.

"Did Venari really need to rope us in to kidnapping? I get the need but there are a lot of good with out there that need killing!" His pouting was almost childish, since the civil war began all he wanted to do was face separatist sith but he had always missed the chance.

---

Landfall, The Mandalorian sighted in relief, finally he would be of use. He took a deep breath as he walked towards the exit ramp. While the air he inhaled was completely filtered, Leon could simply not shake the old addiction that was the smell of warfare.

"It'll be under control soon enough" Leon said as he stood next to Vallaro "Most points buys drinks tonight boys" He chuckled as he lifted up his Rotary Canon "Normal solders: 5 points, Rangers: 10, Jedi: 50" He looked over at his companions and grinned at them beneath his helmet "Happy Hunting Boys"
