Injustice [Velok]

The experience of visions, never mind flow-walking was alien to John, and he was left feeling intensely disorientated and confused, but also in great awe as he felt the alien experience of the past, a million long dead souls parading before him. "Glorious." Amazed at the sheer might and power on show, he was in awe.

"How did you learn this power? It is certainly not one I know of." Pausing for a second, another question sprang to his mind. "All manner of legendary Sith have trodden upon these sands. Would this power allow you to view them in their prime, to watch them perform great feats and form the stuff of legend?"

"Oh, yes...but only in a place of legacy and power like this one. And only as a Master. Flow-walking is a strange thing, and I may be the Sith Empire's expert on it -- I believe I'm the only one who's ever met an Aing-Tii Monk, let alone studied with one -- but even I know very little about how it works."

The vision faded, and Korriban was once more a wasteland of ancient statues and sand-drowned tombs. Velok sagged, breathing hard, his fur matted with sweat.

"But if you focus the Force in certain methods, certain patterns of thought, you can re-live your own short-term memory, walk back through it. You can see that vision again and again, without actually seeing the past afresh -- you can re-play your memories. It's an old Jedi trick, one I stole from them. There was a time when it was common."

He explained the proper process of thought.

"Now look back, examine your own memories, and see the vision again in your mind's eye. Spot details you didn't notice at the time.

"I've just given you the power to glance through any book, as if in passing, and recall its pages for future study, even if you didn't read them at the time.

"Between that, and the ability to see several hours back in time, with meditation, and the ability to negotiate keypads by instinct...I have just made you nearly unstoppable when it comes to information. What will you do with this power?"

"I cannot say. It is a power with so many possibilities, so many eventualities and situations wherein it could be invaluable. I simply do not know what exactly I shall use it for. Perhaps when I have a more defined task, I will know, but for the time being, I offer you thanks, Master Velok."

Wiping the sweat from his brow, he murmured something about the force being exhausting and looked back upon the Whiphid. "What next? Hopefully something less... exhausting."

"Indeed," said Velok. "Meditation. On a starship, in fact. The lord of this world, Tirdarius, has been dispatched to conquer Gravlex Med and forge a corridor to the Imperial Remnant. But that conquest is plagued by politics and what pretends to be deep thought, and it bores me. I mean to take you to learn the lightsabre in combat on Ossus, where the Dark Lord Sirella Valkner fights the Ysanna tribes. You and I will help her wrap up the conflict. Over the course of our flight, I'll give you a lightsabre and some basic training. It should suffice."
