Valery let out an exaggerated huff that would prove Vera's point to Aris, her lower lip jutting out in a playful pout as she glanced over at Kahlil. "That's not fair," she said, her tone laced with a hint of mock frustration. "You know our Dyad gives you an advantage!" The pout lingered for just a moment longer before she broke into a grin, the warmth of their bond flowing between them as naturally as breathing.
"Besides... I did beat you that one time." Oh yes, that fine strike that nearly shattered the crown jewels. Valery remembered it fondly, even though she wouldn't ever repeat that.
She loved him way too much to cause that much pain.
She shifted her attention back to the controls, guiding the Bastion gracefully through the black void of space. The stars stretched out before them, Kahlil's presence, his subtle guidance through their bond, made every movement feel intuitive, and connected. She wasn't asking the Force to guide her — she was using their bond as navigation.
"Alright then," she murmured, her gaze flicking back to him with a softer smile. "Let's hope your 'vague' feeling doesn't get us in trouble again," she said, purely to tease and provoke a reaction.
