Valery let out an exaggerated huff that would prove Vera's point to Aris, her lower lip jutting out in a playful pout as she glanced over at Kahlil. "That's not fair," she said, her tone laced with a hint of mock frustration. "You know our Dyad gives you an advantage!" The pout lingered for just a moment longer before she broke into a grin, the warmth of their bond flowing between them as naturally as breathing.

"Besides... I did beat you that one time." Oh yes, that fine strike that nearly shattered the crown jewels. Valery remembered it fondly, even though she wouldn't ever repeat that.

She loved him way too much to cause that much pain.

She shifted her attention back to the controls, guiding the Bastion gracefully through the black void of space. The stars stretched out before them, Kahlil's presence, his subtle guidance through their bond, made every movement feel intuitive, and connected. She wasn't asking the Force to guide her — she was using their bond as navigation.

"Alright then," she murmured, her gaze flicking back to him with a softer smile. "Let's hope your 'vague' feeling doesn't get us in trouble again," she said, purely to tease and provoke a reaction.

"All's fair in love and war. cheap as it was, you still won. It's on me for not having properly protected myself." Kahlil nodded sagely. It was ultimately his loss, and he wasn't against admitting as much. Though, he did end up smirking. "My vague feeling on where to find ancient, Sith magic leading us to danger? No, impossible, isn't it?"

Valery rolled her eyes, a hint of amusement flickering in her gaze. "You're still going to need those, so I'll try to be more careful," she teased, glancing at him with a smirk. With a confident pull, she shifted the Bastion into hyperspace, sending them on a path dictated more by instinct and the Force than the navigational computer. They had ventured into dangerous space like this before, trusting in themselves over the familiar technology — but it wasn't often that it felt quite this risky.

"My vague feeling on where to find ancient, Sith magic leading us to danger? No, impossible, isn't it?"

Kahlil's jest was met with a quiet smile before Valery abruptly flicked on the auto-pilot. The cockpit chair squeaked as she turned toward him, a predatory glint in her fiery eyes. "You know, my senses are telling me that it'll be a while before we reach our destination." She rose slowly, stepping around to his side, her gaze never leaving him.

"Are you sure it's wise to tease me this much?" Her voice dropped to a sultry whisper as she leaned over the back of his seat. Her arms slipped around his neck, fingers trailing down his chest in a slow, deliberate motion.

"You did marry the most dangerous woman in the Galaxy, after all~" Valery murmured playfully, her lips brushing just close enough to his ear that he'd feel her warm breath. With a wicked smile, she leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss against his cheek, then pulled back, eyes locked with his. "So, be careful where that teasing leads us… darling."

"I'm always ready to fight~"

M977SXg.png

"The most dangerous woman for the most dangerous man."

Kahlil snickered softly as he leaned into Valery's touch just a little, let his eyes close at the kiss, the teasing whisper. She knew what she was doing, as she always did. And he wasn't one to turn from a challenge either. So, he got up, stretched his arms overhead, then casually plucked Valery from where she was seated to toss her over his shoulder and pat her on the rump as he walked from the controls.

"Let's see if you've been keeping up on your training, mm?"

Valery let out a surprised squeal as Kahlil effortlessly scooped her up, her laughter filling the cockpit. “Love!” she gasped in shock, though the smile on her face betrayed her enjoyment. She couldn’t help but smirk when his hand playfully swatted her rump either, and she shifted her weight slightly on his shoulder, pretending to be indignant.

“Hands off the wares~” she teased with a mock scolding tone, but her eyes glinted with mischief. She enjoyed the attention far more than she was willing to admit right now, “Unless you’re planning to put in some serious work to earn it.”

That should give him a reason to do his best.

Twisting slightly, she looked down at him, her grin widening. “And trust me, love, I’ve been keeping up with my training. So unless you want to end up pinned to the ground again… I suggest you bring your A-game.” She knew she was full of chit, bragging like this, but it added to the playful tension of their little game.

He was going to be in trouble this time.

There was a daring challenge in her voice as she reached out to tousle his hair. “Or are you not up for the fight, darling?”

M977SXg.png

"Mmhmmhmm. That's a loot of smack talk for someone being carried at the moment, don't you think?" There was another playful pat as he took them into the sparring room, smirking all the while as he did. The moment they were in though? He took grip of her waist, his grin widening as he lifted her from his shoulder. "So, before you try and get all defiant again."

He'd throw her then, right across the room, right to the far wall even. The moment he'd picked her up, the fight was on after all.

"Why don't you let your fists talk?"

Valery's laughter rang out as she landed gracefully against the wall on her feet, before dropping to the floor. She straightened up slowly, dusting herself off with an exaggerated air of nonchalance. "Mmm, pretty confident, aren't you?" she teased, her smirk widening as she locked eyes with him. "Let's get one thing straight, love — I was letting you carry me. Consider it a rare gift. A head start."

She shifted into a fighting stance, her fingers curling into loose fists as her eyes glinted with excitement. "But if you want to play rough…" she purred, lowering her center of gravity and bouncing lightly on the balls of her feet. "I'm more than ready to show you why you need to take me seriously."

"You're looking awfully hittable today."

Her muscles coiled with anticipation, and she darted forward with a speed that blurred her figure momentarily. Closing the distance in a flash, she feinted to the left before pivoting sharply to the right, throwing a quick jab aimed at his midsection. "Come on, babe," she challenged with a fierce grin, voice laced with playful defiance. "You know it's going to take a lot more than tossing me around to keep me down."

She really enjoyed talking smack. Especially after him carrying her here and tapping her butt.

She danced back a few steps, daring him to match her energy. "Let's see if you can keep up, or if I'm going to have to carry you next," she taunted with a wink, her tone light but full of the fire that always sparked between them.

M977SXg.png

Kahlil idly rolled his shoulders as he took a stance, hands up, fists tightened and curled as he just smirked and watched. It wasn't surprising in the slightest she was able to catch herself after being thrown like that. It was why he hadn't bothered to follow up after. She'd be ready for it. No, instead he wanted to wait. Let her be he one to strike first as ever.

He caught her punch in his hand, taking her wrist as he turned. And continued to turn, fully aiming to swing her by the offending limb to slam her to the ground without any hesitation. "Less words, more fight! Show me what you got, don't tell me about it!"

Valery’s eyes flashed as Kahlil caught her punch, and she felt the sudden shift in momentum as he turned to slam her down. But instead of resisting outright, she let herself flow with his movement, using his own strength to add to her momentum. As he swung her, she twisted mid-air, tucking her knees up and rolling with the force of his throw. She landed in a crouch, breathless but grinning up at him with fiery determination.

“Less words? Fine!” she shot back, the competitive edge sharp in her voice. Without missing a beat, she launched herself back at him, this time aiming a series of rapid strikes at his shoulders and ribs — fast, precise jabs mixed with powerful kicks designed to test his defense.

She continued to press him, determination in every movement, hoping to make him work for this win — no matter how well he could read her, she was determined to make it a fight to remember.

And she had some tricks up her sleeve, waiting to turn the tide of this little war.

M977SXg.png

There she was.

Kahlil just grinned as he watched Valery shoot forward towards him. And, he blocked, as he always did. As much as he could anyway. They both were fast, but she always would edge him out on speed. So he prioritized blocking and deflecting the most painful blows, letting others hit him before he'd retaliate. As she struck herself, he'd move to again deflect, but this time bring his other hand around to catch her in that same instant.

Valery felt the satisfying snap of her knuckles connecting with Kahlil's arm before he caught her wrist in a firm, unrelenting grip. For a heartbeat, the world seemed to still, his grip like iron, locking her in place. She was in trouble if she didn't find a solution, and in the blink of an eye, she shifted, muscles coiling as she drew on her flexibility and strength.

With a powerful push off the ground, she swung her body upwards, using the force of his hold to propel herself in addition to the strength she drew from the Force within her. Her legs shot out, wrapping around his waist in a swift, practiced motion. The momentum carried them both back a step, and she tried to seize the advantage, twisting her torso to pull him off balance and hopefully push him back.

Her thighs tightened around his midsection like a vice, locking her into position as she shifted her weight, hoping to pull him down with her.

Wrestling him wasn't smart, but it was fun, and she had something in mind.

M977SXg.png

Kahlil blinked. He grinned after a moment once he realized what was happening. As ever, she'd always use his own strength against him. Time had only made her better at doing so. With the force he was swinging her suddenly turned against him as she caught his waist, he could do little more than fall. And fall he did, but he didn't hesitate to roll into it to try and get her pinned under him as she clung to his arm.

He did still have a free hand after all, and he didn't hesitate to throw a fist right for her chin.

Valery barely had time to react before Kahlil's free fist connected with her chin, the impact snapping her head back. Pain flared, and she tasted the metallic tang of blood on her split lip. But instead of flinching or letting go, she grinned up at him, her fiery gaze burning with determination.

As if she told him Nice shot, with just her eyes alone.

Then, in an instant, Valery's body seemed to shimmer and blur, her form becoming insubstantial as she tapped into the Force and phased. The solid weight of his body pressing her down evaporated like smoke, and she slipped right through him. Before he could hopefully react, Valery reappeared just behind him, still on the ground, her legs snapping up in an attempt to wrap around his neck like a coiled serpent.

"Surprise, love," she whispered, tightening her powerful thighs around him in an attempt to slowly choke him out or into surrendering if she were able to catch him. Her muscles tensed and flexed as she locked her ankles together, squeezing with all the strength she could muster. With a wicked grin, she leaned back, shifting her weight to throw him off balance again and keep them moving. Rolling, if she had to. Every breath was a battle, but she refused to give him any leeway — if he wanted to win, he was going to have to work for it.

M977SXg.png

Kahlil just flashed a grin before he reared back to strike again, fully intnding to hammer down until she let go of his arm to get away. Grant it, he should've expected what came next, but he didn't. His fist collided with the matted floor in a dull thud as Valery phased through him. There was a grunt as he felt her thighs around his neck, the sudden pressure choking him as he fell back. Though, he did choke out a laugh.

She brought the Force into this. She should know what that meant.

He reached up, touching her thigh before ice suddenly spread out to consume her.

A startled yelp escaped Valery as the ice rapidly spread across her thigh, the sudden chill shocking her system. Her muscles instinctively tensed, and before she could stop herself, she released him, rolling away to escape the numbing cold that threatened to lock her in place.

"Gah, you know I hate the cold!" she growled, her voice laced with both annoyance and determination. He had done it now, and as a result, she wasn't going to hold back.

As soon as she found her footing, she called upon the Force, and her hand flared to life with shimmering flames. With a fierce grin, Valery flung the fire at him, the heat licking through the air to counteract the icy tendrils that had spread across her skin and lash out at him.

He'd be fine.

Without waiting for a response, she moved forward, flames surging in an attempt to keep him on the defensive. Every flicker of the flame seemed to carry her fiery spirit, pushing back against the cold he had tried to use against her.

M977SXg.png

"You started it. Don't be mad because I'm answering in kind."

Kahlil chuckled happily as he stood himself, practically springing to his feet as he idly shook off some of the frost on his fingers. Then laughed further as he felt it before he saw it. The increase of heat in the air. The flames now sent towards him. He brought his hand up, letting a rune form before it to flash freeze the tendrils, causing them to clatter to the ground. Then another, and another. He couldn't fully consume her flame, only freezing that which would've hit him as he kept on the defensive, stepping back bit by bit.

"Fire damage on our ship now? You're making me worry again~"

"Using the cold is different!" Valery insisted, but when he began to deflect her flames, she couldn't help but grin. She watched it all happen with a spark of admiration as he skillfully countered her attacks, but his teasing words, on the contrary, only fueled her determination further.

"You're the one throwing ice around," she shot back with a playful smirk. "If anyone's causing damage, you started it."

Not that fire made it any better...

Then, with a flick of her wrist, she shifted her focus. Instead of sending more flames directly at him, she turned her attention to the ground beneath his feet, heating it up with a burst of the Force. The metal plates began to shimmer, glowing faintly red as the heat intensified in an attempt to burn his feet and trip him up.

She was going to be in trouble for this, she knew, but this was her chance!

M977SXg.png

Kahlil was all grins. He raised his hands, preparing himself for what was going to happen next. She wasn't going to focus on hitting him directly. Where was she going to focus? Behind? Around? Above? The answer, naturally, was below. But not as a flame gout or the like. She heated the very metal he was standing on. He jumped, blinking in surprise before calling out in almost frustration.

"Hey! Don't use the ship as a weapon!"

He reached towards the panel, frosting it over. He was going to have to repair that later. Rapidly heating and cooling metal made it fragile, after all.

She was in big trouble.

Still, Valery's grin widened as she watched Kahlil shift his focus to the heated floor beneath him, his concentration momentarily slipping as he tried to keep his balance. It was the opening she needed, even though she had created it by 'damaging' his precious ship.

"Oh, now you do want to talk while fighting, huh?" she teased, her voice laced with amusement and challenge. If she was going to be in trouble for slightly messing up one little floor panel, she might as well commit to it. So, without missing a beat, she launched herself forward, twisting her body and bringing her leg up in a powerful kick aimed straight at his midsection.

A kick aimed at his gut meant to knock the air out of his lungs and bring him down.

M977SXg.png

Kahlil gritted his teeth only for a moment before he caught the kick in a block. His expression shifted to her, focused now. Dangerously focused at that. Once more ice began to creep up, but this time from where he'd frozen over the heated up panel to takeover the kicked out leg and keep it frozen there. "You're supposed to take care of the Bastion, not melt it, love."
