Into the woods

Lily had been sleeping soundly, when the chirping of birds had awoken her. She roses with the stretch of her arms and mimic her fathers habits cracked her knuckles and her neck followed by a little yawn. The young girl looked around and found herself in the middle of the woods. "Right..." She said quietly to herself. "Gotta find that one guy..." She pulled out from her holocron with information on a man by the name of [member="Jak Sandrow"]. She looked at his picture and giggled a bit, "He's so green...." She said quietly to herself then flecking herself on her arm. She lifted herself and crossed her legs letting out another yawn before closing her eyes. She was taught basic sense training from her father but was told to seek those of skill on her own. There came in the "Plant man" as she dubbed him, herself. She took in a deep breathe and after some time she finally sensed him. After which she raced to him, when she spotted him she waved her hands. "Hey! Mr. Plant man!"

(hopefully this is okay, I am terrible at starting posts)

Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
(it's fine!)

Jak opened his eyes. He had sensed her coming from a good ways off, thanks to his green friends all over the place. Still hanging upside down by his feet from the large tree branch, he let her approach.

"Hello, yourself," he said casually. "How can I help you?"

Many would have seen this man and be put off by his appearance. Some would maybe even fear, where as Lily was more curious than anything else. Her curiousity grew as she came closer and closer to the man. Unlike her twin brother Micah, subtly was not something suited for her. Obviously the man was welcoming as he hadn't already tried to hurt her. She walked closer to him as he hung upside down from the tree and poked the man's forehead. "I wish to learn what you know and see the world as you see." The young girl told him with a slight giggle when she felt his soft skin expecting his skin to be more like a tree. "My name is Lily. What's yours?" she asked [member="Jak Sandrow"].

Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
Jak's eyebrows rose slowly when the girl approached, but he could tell she meant no harm, even when she poked him. "My name is Jak." He leapt down, and landed as lightly as a leaf. "Jak Sandrow. Pleased to meet you, Lily." He offered his hand.

The man was elegant as he was tall and he was really tall! As he father taught her, the young lass bow her head in respect to the man before her. "[member="Jak Sandrow"]." The young Zeltron said her voice filled with excitement followed by a giggle. "Such a gentleman!" She said taking his hand and giving it a light shake.

Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
He grinned. "You must mean someone else." Walking over to the tree, he gently reached out, and branches creaked and grew, to form two chairs. Sitting in one, he asked, "So what brings you all the way out here to find me?"

[member="Lily Hex-Volsh"]

She quickly flopped on to the "Man-made chair" and sprawled out comfortably. "As I said before, [member="Jak Sandrow"]." She said with a giggle. "I wish to learn what you know and see the world as you do."

Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
"Well, for one," Jak started, sitting in the other, "in order to see it as I do, you'd need to become me, and that's just flat-out not happening. Second, to know what I know would require you to live out my life... and that's not something I'd wish on anyone. However, there may be something I can help you with." He had sensed it in her ever since she had entered the woods. "Becoming a Force User."

[member="Lily Hex-Volsh"]

She giggled at his response, "There are more ways of doing that. I doubt I would make a good plant." She said jokingly and when he mentioned being a force user she happily nodded. "Yes! That."

[member="Jak Sandrow"]

Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
"Alright then." He shrugged. "What do you know about the Force? Have you any skill with it?"

Based on her answer, he would start training her, or kindly send her to someone else.

Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
He nodded; any major experience would mean sending her to someone else. He wouldn't be able to train any more than Padawans, but less than Padawan was also acceptable.

"Alright." He stood up and his chair melted back into the tree. A small rock, no larger than a man's fist, rose from the ground and hovered by his side. "Now do the same. If you can."

[member="Lily Hex-Volsh"]

She watched him as his focus change smoothly from the wood changing to the telekinesis of the rock. She took a deep breath in and long exhale out. she began to try to a nearby rock. It shook a little but did not rise as hard as she tried. "Hmph..." She grunted and turned to look over to the man. "How do you do it with such ease?"

[member="Jak Sandrow"]

Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
"Practice," Jak said simply. "Literally, years... of practice. A wise person once said, 'To be good at something, do it for 10,000 hours.'" He smirked at her look of horror. "Don't worry, we'll start off on something easier."

"Walk with me," he offered, the rock easing to the ground, and started off on a slow walk through the woods.

Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
He walked for a while in perfect silence, his feet whispering over the ground. Jak could feel Lily's agitation start to grow, and quietly smiled to himself. She seemed impatient enough that a question would soon be raised, he figured.

And so he waited in silence for her (most likely) inevitable complaint.

She was actually soothed by the forest, the lush leaves, the tall trees. She could feel the plant man's aura, it was serene, it was different but it was comforting. The times she was with her father, they were in the forest to be with the wildlife and learn of it's ways. There was a profound beauty she found in the forest. It was an addition to her excitement, she continue to skip happily around the tall man. "This is fun!" She proclaimed. "How long have you lived in this forest, [member="Jak Sandrow"] ?" She asked as her curiousity took hold of her once more.

Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
Not the question he was expecting, but he took it in stride. "Well, I don't actually live in the forest. I have a home, a ship of my own, a job... I come here to grow more in tune with the Force. I advise that you do the same - not necessarily come to a forest, but find somewhere peaceful, quiet, where you can recharge, calm down, and focus."

He stopped suddenly, and sat down on a tree. "I want you to focus now," he said, closing his eyes and resting his hands on his lap. "Just close your eyes, and open your heart to the Force. When you feel something weird... let me know."

[member="Lily Hex-Volsh"]

"Oh....Oops!" She said clapping her hands over her face in surprise. "I hope I didn't offend you mr. plant man!" She said lowering her hand and sticking her tongue out at him. When the tall man stopped, she did the same and took a seat several feet away from him and closed her and took in a deep breath and within a few minutes began to feel the force flow throughout her being. "[member="Jak Sandrow"] . I feel it."

Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
The corner of his mouth twitched. "Jak is fine, please," he almost-smiled. "What do you feel? Describe it to me."

To him, the Force was soft pressure, lifting everything on top of it like a wave. It would push here, pull there, but always vastly overshadowing him. That would always, somehow, give him comfort.
