INTRIGUE ON QUESH

With the Brotherhood of the Maw on the run after the Tython Debacle. The Rise of the Techno Magorum Tribe has now begun with the development & production of Quani Venom. A highly addictive variant of the Venenit Queshaaga otherwise known as Quesh Venom. Instead of providing adrenaline this wicked product enslaves the mind of its user into the service of the Great Vortex of the Force.

Secretive Dealings with a Hutt Clan on the planet has allowed the Renegade Mawite Tribe to begin moving this tainted creation out of the refinery and into the streets of the cities. Slowly but surely building an army of followers who have no will of their own. The Local Police has fallen underneath their sway and will try & prevent any interruption of the distribution centers. Nicholas Ludendorff has journeyed to the planet to try and stop this menace from leaking any further.

Summoning heros and champions from across the galaxy to aid him in stopping this mawite tribe from causing more chaos.

Although the battle will be hard fought

Techno Magorum Chemical Plant

Join Nicholas Ludendorff and a specialized team as they strike at the very heart of the Mawite Chemical Operation on Quesh. Destroying the facility is a top priority to prevent the spread of Quani Venom across the galaxy. Although this task will not be easy with a team of Arcane Spellcasters running the operation. The Tribe's followers are around every corner and monstrous creatures defend the inner facility.

The battle will be dangerous but keeping the galaxy safe from harm justifies such a heavy cost.

Palace of Walmos the Hutt

The Foundation of the Mawite Operations on Quesh begins with the Hutt Clan underneath Walmos Besadii Uruo. The Treacherous Hutt is moving the contaminated product from the facility to the streets. Drawing in huge profits while the people suffer underneath his tyrannical grip. The Palace of Walmos must be infiltrated and the hutt lord must pay for his crimes against civilization. But such a thing will not be easy to accomplish with the heavily armed patrols lurking around every hall.

Luck would have it that Lord Walmos is hosting a banquet tonight to celebrate his newly found wealth.

INTRIGUE ON QUESH

TECHNO MAGORUM CHEMICAL PLANT

Open

The Cybernetic Eye of Master Nicholas Ludendorff peaked through the window of the old saw mill at the Techno Magorum Chemical Plant just down the road. With the Brotherhood of the Maw on the retreat after their defeat at the battle of tython. The jedi hermit thought that the galaxy would finally be peaceful. Although that was just wishful thinking for the most part.

The Renegade Mawite Tribe named the Techno Magorum was stirring up quite a bit of trouble on the toxic wasteland of Quesh. Information was scarce on the overall operation but from what he could gather. This quani venom overtook the mind of its user into becoming a follower of the tribe. Such mental manipulation sickened him to the core.

Moving his form away from the boarded up window; he gazed over at his assembled team.

""From what I could gather after a simple sweep of the facility. There is a ray shielded entrance protected by a team of Bootana Hutta Volunteer Troopers. They should be no problem for us. However I am advising cautionary measures due to the relative unknown size of our enemy at this location."

He said to them with a grizzled but polite tone. He didn't want them to get caught into an ambush straight out of the gate because the front entrance looked easy. Such thinking was predictable enough that any advanced droid could figure it out without much processing. The data from his optical implant allowed him to check the equipment model of the troopers. Standardized issue without modifications.

"If everyone is ready to move out; then let us proceed. Remember that they have the home field advantage and will likely know each and every nook and cranny of the place."

He said to them once they had collected their thoughts and voiced their concerns. Pulling up his hood over his head to better hide his features from any security cameras. Although he doubted they would be gazing over to this direction it was still a cautionary measure to avoid blowing their cover. Clutching his wooden staff with a golden lions head within his left hand; his lightsaber clipped to his belt for easy drawing purposes.

He moved with a major limp to the front door of the old saw mill.

Opening it up and exiting the area of the building.

TECHNO MAGORUM CHEMICAL PLANT

A feminine figure stood off to one side as the leader of the expedition took survey of their target. Enclosed in a form-fitting armor from head to toe, this member of his assembled squad had yet to reveal more than their name: V. Gloved fingers wrapped about what appeared to be a grip of the tall, unusually thick, metal staff, which appeared to be her own armament. Nicholas seemed to desire a 'low profile' on approach of the enemy encampment; her armor might stand out, but from what V had seen of this galaxy's inhabitants, a full suit of armor (or an enclosure suit) was common enough not to draw concern.

The lit v-shaped faceplate turned toward Nicholas as he gave his report.

A ray-shielded entrance protected by troopers. V could hardly claim to understand every reference the man, or any galactic citizen made, but she understood enough. It sounded as though this location was far from heavily fortified. Nicholas recommend caution regardless. Prudent? Perhaps. The reason she'd even accepted this call for aid was to learn more about the people of the galaxy. Combat gave people precious little time to worry about how to phrase things or what could or could not be said. Every second could be the difference between life and death.

Slowly, V turned to regard the rest present to gauge their disposition toward the task at hand.

It was pleasing to find a surprising diversity among them. Shame there wouldn't be a way to sample one of them or take them back to the Citadel for examination. There were others seeking to make discrete sample collections, however. This civilization had a holo-net full of information, but they needed empirical data to validate the information obtained was accurate; there seemed to be a surprising number of inaccuracies or fallacies posted on the holo-net after all.

V moved to follow Nicholas when he made for the exit. Unlike the Jedi, however, she did not limp or seem to need the square staff held in her hand.

A vast ocean of data poured across a half-dozen screens, a green glow cast across Hacks' face. The light in the apartment on Nar Shaddaa's Refugee Sector was dim, a single fluorescent bulb overhead that was prone to flickering. Shadows splashed on the walls fading in and out with the dying filament. Paint peeled from the walls like a dying serpent shedding its last skin.

The slicer took a long drag from her cigarette, soaking in just what she was reading. She had been surfing the CryptNet, monitoring Hutt Space transmissions between the various clans when she picked up messages sent from the Palace of Walmos the Hutt. At first glance she didn't bother to read into it until she saw who was involved. The Maw.

By any means Hacks was no arbiter of justice, she accepted credits from shadowy figures and had spent her lifetime associating with crime lords and corrupt corporations. She had done their dirty work from assassinations to corporate espionage, stealing from Jedi Temple ruins and outright slicing into the Galactic Alliance senate and taking their senate floor security systems for a ride.

Yet there was a line between taking a job from a slimey slug who wanted questionable work done and outright annihilation of total planets, that line was the Maw. She hooked that outgoing message and rode it back to its sender. The security systems were easy work, her keymaker program cracked the encryptions. Now she saw it all. The tainted adrenals they were trying to peddle. Hell, she had a personal investment in stopping this operation, after all, she was an adrenal addict.

She swept through their networks and found little she could go off. It was the type of work that required a more personal touch than one behind a computer screen a dozen sectors away. She had experience around the cartels, Gorba Bareesh Laglan had spent considerable time trying to rope an unwilling Hacks into the Hutt Space Consortium much to his dismay. She didn't want a bite of it.

Things had changed, or at least she was going to pretend they had. An upcoming banquet by Walmos Besadii Uruo at his Palace on Quesh. She was already wiring funds into her account to buy the next ticket to the toxic planet. She would go to the banquet, play nice with the Hutt and his entourage and find an access to their network to send the nastiest digital virus this side of the galaxy has seen.

Hacks switched off her computers, pulled her data glasses down over her eyes and kicked back off the chair. In moments she was turning off the light behind her as the door slammed shut to her apartment. Racing down the darkened hallway. She had a dinner to attend.

They gathered in an old saw mill.

What great trouble have I found myself in now? Qhorin wondered. A situation that required two Jedi Masters, even a young one like himself, was a dire situation indeed, to say nothing of the other gathered individuals.

The jedi adjusted his tabard, beaten moof-hide dyed a tranquil forest green, embroidered along the edges in fine gold filigree, and climbed to his feet. He was new to the galaxy, in a sense, having spent most of his life in the Unknown Regions, but missions like these had been his life blood back home. He had policed entire sectors, fought his fair share of terrorists, murders, pirates, and corrupt organizations, but never had he encountered anything like this: A drug that enslaved the minds of those who consumed it.

How cruel a fate it must be, he thought, to have your will stripped from you. It was a crime against the fundamental nature of the universe, he thought, against the Force herself, and that more than anything had led him to Quesh. He was nothing if not an instrument of the Force.

Qhorin tucked his lightsaber into a holster hidden beneath his tabard, but left his blaster hanging from his belt. He looked half a noble with his tall stature and fine clothing, if one ignored the pauldrons jutting from his shoulders, or the chrome chest plate peaking from beneath his tan tunic. His armor, that which could be seen, was scorched and scarred, telling a story of strife and battle.

"And so it begins," he murmured, following the limping Master Ludendorff and the armored woman who had only introduced herself as "V" out of the defunct saw mill.

INTRIGUE ON QUESH

TECHNO MAGORUM CHEMICAL PLANT

Countess V Countess V Qhorin Solas

His thoughts traced back to those that joined him on this mission to destroy the Techno Magorum Chemical Plant. One of them was simply named V and the other was a fellow jedi master Qhorin Solas. Both of them had some level of experiences from the way that they were dressed however it was only a matter of time before they were put to the test in breaking down the front entrance with some degree of grace.

His steps slow but firm; the limping jedi master made his approach towards the other side of a hill which would cover them from being spotted by the mind controlled troopers down below. Moving ever so slowly around the corner; his cybernetic eye implant scanned the area for hidden traps or pressure plates. The data found nothing to indicated such but he understood that technology could be jammed and directed elsewhere to convey false information.

He found a large boulder nearest to their location. Reaching out with his unoccupied hand into a force pull which after some effort came towards them. After moving away from the hill for just a moment. He thrusted out his hand as the force gathered around it into a mighty force push which sent the boulder speeding up the hill and down the otherside using the momentum and mass of the object.

The Boulder sped towards the ray shielded entrance and crashed directly into it. The Troopers were distracted by the boulder crashing into the entrance for just a brief moment in time. More than enough for them to move straight ahead without much trouble.

"Alright, I'm going to distract them in the front while you guys sneaked around them and take them by surprise."

He said with some degree of respect towards his fellow companions. Moving over the hill side with a faster limping pace; the jedi master reached out with the force to call his silver lightsaber into his hand. The ignition of the blade occured at this time as the glowing aura shined down the pathway. His exalted storm dragon abilities shined through as the jedi master moved with grace and pose as the hail of blaster bolts from the troopers rained down upon them.

His silver blade flew through the air with a swift motion; deflecting blaster bolt after blaster bolts back towards his opponents.

With his part now completed; it was up to his fellow companions to follow as needed.

TECHNO MAGORUM CHEMICAL PLANT

The group was not accosted as they slid into the open and toward their target. A fortuitous, if surprising development. Then again this galaxy did not have Watchers, Stalkers, and Gatekeepers overseeing the masses. Those of this civilization had come far in artificial intelligence and droid construction, but fallen short of the Singularity that would have granted them nearly omniscient awareness of their dominion. Not that V complained; after she had discovered this fact there was a great burden lifted from her shoulders. Their arrival would not precipitate an immediate war for survival.

As they drew upon a hill, however, their leader seemed taken by a nearby boulder. V's faceplate turned to observe the mass as it was drawn forth and then thrust toward the defenses of their adversary. Nicholas had put in motion a relatively straightforward plan with little time for debate. Obviously a creature with a strong will and command of the battlefield. Or a fool. V chose to believe the former until he demonstrated signs of the latter.

V turned to look over at Qhorin Solas as events began to unravel. A gloved knife hand indicated to the right of the entrance, "We'll attack from opposite sides as he keeps their attention in the center." The end of the square staff pivoted from the ground as a grip extended out from one side and V nestled the other end against her shoulder. The far end split open as her left hand supported the length. On their approach she'd kept the long-barrelled weapon concealed, but no longer.

Provided Qhorin did not disagree, V would turn to make haste off to the left in order to flank the enemy position from that direction. If the troopers had to focus on an assault from three angles the distraction would weaken their effective combat strength. It would be interesting to learn how capable their first wave of their opposition would be. Though not more so than observing Nicholas himself in battle; V felt there was more to him than a simple man with a limp.

Wayseeker Jedi Master Velieris was late to join the mission. That was somewhat by design. There was a reason why she had become a Wayseeker, she didn’t like to be told how to complete a mission. She was completely capable of working as a team on the other hand so joining the mission midswing without getting orders was much more appealing to the Fosh Master.

As Nicholas Ludendorff and his team were moving into position Velieris watched and tried to gain an understanding of their plan and how she would be able to support them. She gave a bit of a giggle as the lead Jedi Master set out. An obvious distraction method. It was a good thing that the enemy were lowly soldiers. They probably would fall for it no problem.

The other two attackers looked to make a plan. A woman, unknown to Velieris, but seemingly talented in the Force, also augmented by technology. The other was Master Qhorin Solas, a former colleague of Velieris. He was a young Master from the Unknown Regions. Someone that Velieris knew was a good man, but little else about him. As the woman made suggestion to Master Solas to split up and attack, Velieris decided she would follow behind and look to flank the Bootana Hutta Volunteer Troopers when an opportunity arose.

So much for cautionary measures, Qhorin thought, as Master Ludendorff sent a massive boulder careening into the gate, crushing the generator and deactivating the ray shield. Ludendorff valiantly offered himself as a distraction, drawing his blade as he crested the hill and engaging the troopers at range. Bold, the young master thought. Bold and brave with all the subtlety of a warhammer.

The woman, V, caught his attention. "We'll attack from opposite sides as he keeps their attention in the center,” she said, gesturing to one side of the entrance.

“Agreed,” said Qhorin. It was the best course of action available to them, he figured. He would've proffered a more clandestine approach to Master Ludendorrf’s methods, but regardless, he would assist as needed. “Try not to kill anyone that doesn't deserve it.”

V revealed her staff to be a modular sniper rifle of some sort, sweeping around the left side of the hill to flank the troopers. Qhorin drew his own blaster, an old RSKF-44, and set it to stun as he made his way around the right side of the hill, careful to stay out of the line of sight. He was hesitant to harm the troopers, as he wasn’t sure if they were being mind-controlled or not, so he left his lightsaber holstered.

When he was in position, sequestered behind a parked transport to the right of the downed ray shield, he leaned around the vehicle's bulk and fired at the troopers, aiming to put them down quickly. Now that they had started their assault, the clock was ticking.

INTRIQUE ON QUESH

TECHNO MAGORUM CHEMICAL PLANT

Qhorin Solas Velieris Countess V Countess V

The heat of the battle swirled around the limping jedi master as his blade swished through the air. Deflecting bolt after bolt that slammed into his opponents. His cybernetic implant watched the others move into position without much complaint. It was mind-bogglingly how they just accepted his order without complaint nor questioning his complete abandonment of caution as he previously advised.

Thinking independently instead of following your layed out pathway was the best within his mind. Of course he didn't mean to suggest that not following orders given from superiors was the right course of action. However sometimes following your gut instinct helps more in the end than simple strategy. He was distracted from his thoughts when one of the mind controlled troopers rushed towards him with a vibro-knife.

He moved out of the way with a quick reflex turn of his form; and lowered his golden lion staff to the side as the man rushed past directly into the awaiting staff which slammed into his stomach; knocking the wind out of his sail that left him slumping on the floor. A jedi never killed unless they had no other choice as such action lead to the dark side; however that was nothing more than a black v white argument instead of seeing the entire picture. More often than not killing those that would harm others is keeping peace. Like the jedi code said.

He moved his form away once again when the blaster bolts carried on for just a brief moment. The troopers were distracted from movement on both sides due to their flanking maneuver. Giving him enough time to channel the force through his body.

"Cover your eyes; this might sting."

He called out; raising his staff as the power flowed through it. Conjuring the ability known as Force Blinding in a wide area of affect. The blinding force light scourged over the area for just the briefest of minutes. Normally you couldn't use the force from a simple staff but he did imbue the power much like you can with force lightning and force push.

"Now while they are distracted. Don't kill anyone we need information about the facility"

He said; lowering his staff and moving with some run to his previous limp steps. He moved through the troopers in the front that were now blinded. Knocking them over the head with the back end of his lightsaber as he moved past. He expected his companions to do the same; they weren't here to kill anyone unless there was no other choice.

"Do what needs doing," the masked woman replied levelly before they swiftly joined the fray to flank the enemy. Who, exactly, 'deserved' killing? They hardly knew a thing about V or her circumstances to expect her morality in any way mirrored their own. Mistaken belief that since she was there, on their side, that they shared some semblance of moral code, perhaps.

From where the Logikosa stood they were all suitably edible. Whether any were worthy of becoming one of them remain to be seen; few passed muster on that front (even back in her home galaxy). Time was on their side, however; or it had been until an unforeseen circumstance resulted in the demise of every living creature -- partially due to the rebels, and overwhelmingly the result of the Logikosan response. In biological warfare, few emerged victorious.

V slid out from around the hill with the long-barrelled rifle brought to bear on the troopers. The interior of her faceplate painted its targets with all environmental variables taken into account. As the field of battle instantly rendered, however, her eye beheld Nicholas' movements and the disposition of the troopers that had initially engaged him. As the short, sharp whine and snap of the weapon flared into being, her left hand dropped slightly.

The first electrically charged material ordinance neatly sliced through the air, and straight through a trooper's knee. V's original intention was a clean stroke through the head, but the Jedi wasn't engaging in all out war against his opponents. Was this also strategic, or was it foolishness? Her life was not in danger either way, so for the time being V chose to follow the man's lead to see where it went. It was a new galaxy; there was much yet to learn.

As the barrel immediately lined up for another pull, Nicholas called out for his support to cover their eyes. A polarizing veil washed over V's display in time for the man to use another of these 'Force powers' she had heard about. Telekinesis was quite useful and the one she'd heard of the most so far. The ability to conjure a blinding light had not been mentioned to date. Most peculiar.

Nicholas then called upon them to resume their assault, which V did without any further delay. Three more electric snaps sounded as the Countess strode out in the open with her rifle moving from one target to the next just as soon as each shot left the barrel. They might be blinded, but V wouldn't mistake them for helpless. If any of them managed by happenstance or some means of skill to point their weapon at her, and even fought through the agony of being kneecapped, she would end them. Nicholas would not begrudge her for doing what needed doing, she hoped. The enemy would be wise to accept their suffering; they were still alive to gnash their teeth, after all.

“Do what needs doing,” V replied.

Her innocuous response meant more to Qhorin than she knew. There is no need, he thought, centering himself in the Force, in its resonate song, like music wrought of wind and waves- its song was muted on Quesh, twisted and deadened by the evils of the Techno Magorum Tribe. He could only reach out so far- instead, he looked within. There is only what must be.

After Master Ludendorrf used Force Light to blind the troopers, the fighting was all but done. The jedi dashed into the thick of the disoriented troopers, knocking them out with his staff. V took down the rest with well-aimed shots to the leg, kneecapping them with her long barreled rifle. Qhorin questioned the extreme violence of her methods but held his reservations to himself, sprinting over to the downed troopers. He noticed one in particular with extra stripes sewn onto the shoulders of his uniform- their captain, he surmised, and reached out to skim his mind.

On the surface, there was only the darkness of sleep; Qhorin went deeper into his muddled thoughts, wading gently through the sludge of unconsciousness. He was careful not to delve too deeply or push too hard, his touch on the man’s mind feather light, like gossamer wings.

“There’s an access tunnel on the western face of the facility that opens into a storeroom deeper in the plant,” he began, eyes fluttering as he focused, “but it was built for labor droids. It’ll be a tight fit, but I believe we could possibly squeeze through. That is, unless you’d like to fight your way through a facility on high alert.”

Qhorin didn’t doubt that their brash attack had been noticed by the denizens within the plant. But there was a certain tactical advantage to an all-out frontward assault bolstered by a more clandestine approach. At the very least, it would confuse their enemies.

“...Perhaps it’d be best if we split up.”

Working with the Jedi carried its pitfalls, but in spite of the high potential for dispute between one such as her—a Bio-Organic HRD optimized for killing Force Adepts—and the Jedi, Alessandra felt compelled to undertake any mission which involved going against a tribe of the Maw, even one that was a relative newcomer compared to the likes of the Scar Hounds, the Crimson Hand, and the Bloodsworn. By now, those three tribes were known actors, having been deployed in force to Tython where they had suffered a resounding defeat at the hands of the Tython Accords. However, the Techno Magorum were a new kind of enemy. The danger from them came in the fact that thus far, they were largely unknown. Their beliefs were largely a mystery, though it was rumored that they worshiped an eldritch power known as the Great Vortex.

Unfortunately, such scant information only begged more questions. Alessandra hoped that by fighting the Magorum, she might learn more regarding their capabilities, history, and beliefs. For now, she would have to make do with the dearth of intelligence. However, it wasn’t the first time that the HRD had engaged an enemy that few others had seen before, much less even heard of.

As the woman who had introduced herself as V—an ostensibly Near-Human woman whose species failed to register in the HRD’s databases—moved towards the left and the sepia-toned Jedi moved towards the right, Alessandra struck from above. The repulsor cells in her organic chassis propelled her diminutive synthetic form through the air in the manner of a fast airspeeder, before careening to the ground in the wake of the staff-wielding Jedi’s manifestation of blinding Light and landing in a plume of smoke. The Chaplain did not hesitate to take advantage of the troopers’ stunned states, her photoreceptors glowing a luminescent cyan before suddenly projecting forth twin lances of cryogenic energy on low power towards the stunned troopers, with the intention to freeze their legs, so as to immobilize them!

INTRIGUE ON QUESH

TECHNO MAGORUM CHEMICAL PLANT

Alessandra Io Alessandra Io Countess V Countess V Velieris Qhorin Solas

The Limping Jedi Master had finished with his squad of troopers before him. Having knocked them all out with the back of his lightsaber handle as they slumped to the floor. He gazed over from his squad as the figure named only Countess V Countess V had started her run and managed to keep them all down without a second thought. The methods chosen were of little consequence to the hermit jedi master because war often wasn't pretty.

Emotions ran high during a conflict and Master Ludendorff wouldn't fault them for their methods. His cybernetic eye followed along the battlefield until coming upon Qhorin Solas whom was busy conversing with a fallen captain. The information gained was insightful to the layout of the facility. A small access tunnel for service droids was hardly big enough for them all.

Master Solas voiced his suggestion that they split up to which he would agree.

"Alright; Master Solas and V will take the access tunnel."

He proclaimed; his senses finally picking up upon a single individual amongst their little team.

"Myself, Velieris and Alessandra Io will commence with a frontal attack as planned in order to draw their attention away from other areas of the facility.
We will only have a limited amount of time to breach each section without reinforcements arriving from Walmos's Palace."

He said with a sense of urgency; limping away from the knocked out troopers towards the formerly ray shielded entrance once the other team had left. His cybernetic eye scanning around the still closed door for the keypad until coming across a slightly raised block of stone. Using the sharp teeth of his lion headed staff to snatch onto the stone and ripping it of the wall to reveal the keypad.

The keypad had several different combinations within a randomized order.

"We don't have time to play the number game."

He proclaimed with a sigh; dropping his staff onto the ground for just a brief moment and clipping his lightsaber back into its belt. His old fingers dug deep into the stone door which protected the facility behind it. His muscles ached and buffed up as ludendorff focused on ripping the door off its base. The stone cracked and creaked for just a brief moment before the door finally collapsed underneath the immense strength being poured upon it due to his exalted storm dragon abilities.

The door split into half as they both fell to the side of the aging jedi master. Allowing them entry inside the complex itself. He grabbed his staff from the ground and moved forward for just a brief moment. Before hiding behind a warehouse that was next to the entrance. His eye scanned the courtyard and picked up several hostiles within.

"Look alive; team. We got several unfriendlies within there."

He said pulling up the tactical readout of their opponents within the courtyard on his eye scanner and projecting it in front of them as the glowing blue hologram showed several red dots to indicate that there were heat signatures there.

V slowly drew in close as Solas seemed to interrogate one of the fallen. Her faceplate was angled down to watch the Jedi rather than their subject. Not a word was spoken or a needless shift in weight made that might generate the smallest sound as the man probed the other's mind. What she saw there was intriguing. Creatures of this galaxy had discovered that talent? They might prove as formidable as the Collective feared. Their movements among these lifeforms would need to be made with care.

The helm lifted and pivoted around to face Nicholas when the made declared she would accompany Solas toward this 'access tunnel' while the rest went on ahead. Not a muscle moved after her lit visor aligned with the man's aged features. Being shunted to a confined space away from the creature of interest where her skills would be of less use... 'Perturbed' would accurate summarize her disposition toward his assignment. The temptation to dispense with the charade itched.

As V pivoted toward the West, the long barrel of her gun swept upward until its length rested against her shoulder. She began to marched off in the direction of this clandestine access point without further ado.

"Why are you so concerned about the well-being of your adversary?" V asked as she strode ahead whether Solas kept up or not. "You could extract more than the mere existence of this tunnel from that creature. I can sense the strength in you." The Jedi had only managed to do what V expected of their young that sought to learn that ability. Surface thoughts of things well-ingrained in the mind were not so difficult to extract. It seemed he was too preoccupied with 'sparing' his enemy.

As they drew near the side of the facility, a gloved hand produced a cylinder from V's waistline. The small device lengthened and grew in girth before it popped open in the form of a grappling hook. She began to plant the hook into the barrel of her rifle. "You said this would be a 'tight fit.' I can accelerate our arrival," she explained. Her helmet turned to face Solas once more. "I will be at the fore and stabilize our progress through this tunnel. You will plant your foot here," she pointed to an extended butt-stock a foot could easily perch on, "and hold on to the handle," further up the length. "There is insufficient time to crawl inside. He will recklessly enter the compound, as you already surmise." To say nothing of the indignity of 'wiggling about' like a worm.

V did check to see if Solas objected or had other thoughts before she'd seek to launch the hook down the shaft. After all, the only reason she was really there was to learn about these people. Little would be gleaned by completely ignoring them.

Qhorin would have volunteered himself had Master Ludendorff not suggested him, though he might not have chosen V to accompany him. He had no qualm with her, but what he felt from her in the Force was... troubling.

There was a strange darkness in V, a quiet sense of menace that resonated with her every move, something other that he had no reference for; she was humanoid, but most certainly not human. She was too graceful- not like a dancer, but like a Nexu, predatory and dangerous; a concerning ally, he thought, but battle ever makes strange bedfellows. Her violent tendencies would no doubt prove a boon in the near future.

"Why are you so concerned about the well-being of your adversary?" she asked as they jogged to the access tunnel. "You could extract more than the mere existence of this tunnel from that creature. I can sense the strength in you."

Qhorin was swift in answering, even as he heard the deep rumbling groan of cracking stone behind him, for her question was ever a debate to the powerful, and he had known power over others for a very long time. “That he is my adversary now does not mean that he will be the same tomorrow. Some people have the capacity for change.” He was no naive fool to suggest that all people were worthy of a second chance, nor was he so callous as to ignore a person’s ability to grow beyond who they were. Even a few Sith had managed to renounce the Darkside. “And simply because I could doesn’t mean I should. It is a matter of perspective.” And honor. "Nearly all beings can withstand adversity, but if you want to test their character, give them power," he quoted, "for the greater the power, the more dangerous the abuse."

The access tunnel was relatively unguarded, protected by a single security droid- Qhorin reached into the Force and yanked its power core from its casing before the droid could even notice them. V unveiled a grappling hook attachment for her rifle, attaching it to the barrel with well-practiced movements.

"You said this would be a 'tight fit'," V began. "I can accelerate our arrival. I will be at the fore and stabilize our progress through this tunnel. You will plant your foot here," she indicated the placement, "-and hold on to the handle. There is insufficient time to crawl inside. He will recklessly enter the compound, as you already surmise."

Had the situation been less dire, Qhorin might have chuckled at her assessment of Master Ludendorff. Instead he only smiled in acknowledgement of her point, for the grizzled Jedi had proven himself rather incautious thus far, though he seemed more than capable enough to justify his audacious tactics.

Qhorin, for all his strength in the Force, had always leaned towards surgical strikes over brute force, more cunning than daring, save for when there was no choice but to be bold.

“Just so,” the Jedi Master replied. He placed his foot where she said, and gripped the handle tight. “I’m ready when you are. I expect light resistance at the end of the tunnel, war droids most certainly, and perhaps a few troopers as well. Be ready to shoot.”

Velieris was told many times over the years that she was not a good team player. Something that she quite frankly agreed with. Now she was not only Master, but a Wayseeker as well, so she very rarely was part of a team any longer. This venom that was being produced inside the chemical plant seemed to be quite nasty however so when a group from various organizations was announced to destroy it she decided it was a good thing to tag along.

Along with being a bad team player, Velieris was very bad at taking orders. But when orders were to rush headlong into an assault damning the consequences those were orders she could get behind. It was her, the old man she could sense through the Force to be much more, and the diminutive bio-droid. It had to have been a comincal sight for the defenders of the plant to see an old man with a cane, a bright colored feathery biped with a purple lightsaber and a small white and cyan colored female humanoid charging at them. Whatever laughter they were exchanging at the moment would not be shared when the enemy combatants reached them.

The Fosh Master was not one for cloak and dagger sneaking around. In a rarity of her species she was 100% warrior. She didn’t like to talk things out or look for the path of least resistance. Velieris was always moving forward. She leaped through the air into the courtyard, lightsaber over her head. As she landed she gave a bit of a frown. “I’ll focus on the armored bastards. They are more fun than the droids. No offense Alessandra Io, though I would say you’re quite a few steps above those things.”

She gave another lead into the heart of the enemy defenders. As she stated she was focused on the cannoneers. Her movements hardly seemed like they were being made by the same attacker, unorthodox and wild, steaming especially close to the dark side. Velieris was a master of Vapaad, she could be heard cackling as her blade struck her opponents. Not every strike put an enemy down, but she was doing damage.

These creatures. They worked together. Like those that were not Chosen to join the Collective. They cared for one another. Like those that were unworthy in her galaxy. Or they could care for one another. Hopeless idealism. Perhaps V should not be too quick to dismiss it? Perhaps that had been... a miscalculation on their part before. Believing they were so far above lesser creatures they had no reason to fear them. Statistically the odds were not in their favor in this galaxy already.

"Abuse is subjective." After all, many claimed the Logikosa had been abusive toward the lesser lifeforms of their galaxy. Was it abusive to use beasts of burden as such? To feed upon cattle as such? Had the Logikosa not given them shelter and food to live healthy lives until their blood was required? Few ever perished from the donation process. Hardly seemed abusive from where V stood.

The Countess looked back at Qhorin to ensure the man had a solid perch. Then the helmet faced forward down the length of the shaft. Her forearms took position in the top corners while her knees occupied the bottom corners; the boots of her suit locked together on either side of the rifle. Without warning the reel spun into motion and the two of them shot down the crawlspace. V's arms and knees kept them perfectly centered along the way; her rifle did not make ensuring a proper balance easy and the line would have begun to sway and have them making far too much noise if she hadn't stabilized the approach.

As suddenly as the ride began, it ended. V was thrown out of the tunnel and into the room. The rifle was still with Qhorin, however. With a tucked roll, the armored woman bound into the air, kicked off the opposite wall, and launched herself over and behind one of the war droids. A knife-hand blow slammed into the back of the droid's central column, and the violet accents of the mercenary's suit began to pulse and flow toward the droid.

If Qhorin got out and tackled the other droid first, then V would have no need of her tool; otherwise she would be more than happy to have one droid annihilate the other.

After the volunteer troopers had been either rendered unconscious or in a few cases, killed outright, the Jedi began to discuss strategy, a conversation which the Chaplain opted to take no part in. Before long, a plan was conceived, which involved the elderly, limping Jedi leading a head-on assault while V and Qhorin Solas moved through the access tunnel. While some might have questioned the wisdom of such a broken-looking Jedi leading a frontal attack, Alessandra knew better. The Force could imbue hobbling old men with the power to lift tanks and pull fighters from the sky. So far, Nicholas had proved that he was no exception, being just as capable as any one of the younger members of the team.

From there, the two teams split up, with both the Fosh and the HRD following the elderly Jedi through the door leading into the courtyard.

“I’ll focus on the armored bastards. They are more fun than the droids. No offense Alessandra Io, though I would say you’re quite a few steps above those things.”

“I will handle the war droids and the beasts then.” Alessandra agreed, refusing to honor what she thought to be a crass "compliment" with an additional comment. Nevertheless, the HRD, let the Fosh lead the assault, before levitating herself up from the ground and firing her repulsor cells, suddenly propelling her form up into the sky with a gust of disturbed air left in her wake. A few seconds later, she descended back down to earth, landing directly on top of one of the artillery beasts! As she did, the Chaplain brought the plasma blade organ in her left arm to life, manifesting an energized blade out of what might have seemed to be thin air with a sudden snap-hiss, followed by a visceral, high-pitched whine as the blade was lance through the beast’s armored hide and into its cranial cavity to effectively vaporize a chunk of the reptile’s brain!

I will try to continue! I apologize for the wait on my end!

"I think you misunderstand. I speak of the abuse of power, which is never subjective."

They zoomed down the shaft and went careening into the room where a pair of towering war droids loomed menacingly.

In a display of skilled acrobatics, V dove from the rifle, rolled across the floor, and launched herself towards the wall, which she used as a springboard to leap over and behind one of the war droids. With a knife hand strike, she thrust her hand into its central column. The indigo accents on her armor began to coruscate and flow into the droid.

Qhorin merely threw out a hand, grasping the droid as if in a fist, sinewy tendrils of energy winding through its circuitry like burrowing sand eels- with a grunt of exertion, he crushed its inner circuitry, rendering the droid inert and powerless.

The Jedi Master inspected the room. It was a small space, and dimly lit, brightened only by a few flashing bulbs, holoscreens set in the wall, and an angry blaring red light that was doubtlessly the alarm.

"From where we are now we can strike directly at the heart of the facility." He closed his eyes and focused. "The corridor beyond this door is empty, but it won't be for much longer. Something unnatural is coming our way. We have a decision to make- remain stealthy and destroy the vats before they realize we're here, or wreak utter havoc as we cut our way through the facility."

Sorry folks, I forgot about this. I vote we finish it, with style.
