Mission Intrigue on Quesh

Qhorin thought V did not understand his philosophy. It wasn't that she misunderstood it so much as she did not believe it a constraint which applied to the Logikosa. Abuse of power was never subjective? Perhaps another time she might have contemplated a drawn out conversation on the matter. It was obvious the two of them could not disagree more on the matter. What better opportunity to learn of this galaxy's people than by engaging in rigorous debate?

V extracted her limb and dropped to the floor once the Jedi Master dealt with the second droid. The one the armored woman had assaulted stood motionless as she stepped around its bulk.

"Stealth. The other team has their attention." V turned to regard the war droid in the room. "They will not be left unattended." She turned her visor back to the man that shared the space with her. "This droid will support them in open combat."

"Will you lead the way, having detected something 'unnatural?'"
The Logikosa were not unfamiliar with 'The Force' (as it was called here), but neither were they Legendary Masters that has learned every art of it. Their natural affinity for technology had stunted any reliance on this communal energy field and its influence. Having seen brief demonstrations of its usage, however, V believed her people should learn more about it. If this galaxy utilized it to such an extent, then the Logikosa would be fools to ignore the weapons of choice used by prospective adversaries.

Pulling her plasma blade out of the artillery beast’s skull, Alessandra jumped behind the reptile’s collapsing form, utilizing it as cover from the retaliatory fire of the five war droids in the courtyard, which were slowly advancing on her position. Nevertheless, the beast’s handler met a similar fate, as the HRD reeled him in with the tractor organ in her left arm, before slashing him in twain across the torso, her plasma blade giving a sharp whine as it vaporized chunks of the man’s flesh. Although she recognized that the Jedi she was with might not appreciate such careless slaughter, Alessandra knew that the pressures of a live engagement demanded speed and in her mind, killing was faster and easier than stunning.

Not to mention, it was also much more stimulating.

All the while, the second artillery beast was whipped by its handler, who urged his mount to face the HRD so that he could fire the two massive cannons on its back. However, after quickly processing the other artillery beast, the Chaplain decided that she had a chance to turn the weapons against their handler.

She didn’t hesitate in seizing it.

Searing electricity sprang forth from Alessandra’s hands, striking neither beast nor rider, but rather, one of the cannons on the creature’s back. For a tense split-second, the electricity bounced off the interior walls of the barrel before striking the shell loaded into the breech, igniting it to set off a powerful, resounding explosion that consumed both handler and beast, along with a small portion of the immediate area!

Qhorin answered with actions instead of words. With a negligent wave of his hand, the door opened, and he led them into the hall.

The corridor beyond was exceedingly wide and tall, as if constructed to facilitate the travel of beasts much larger than a standard sized human. Qhorin turned left at the first fork he came across, leading V to duck into an alcove when booted feet thundered past. When the squad had past and the coast was clear, he continued on, senses peeled.

On they raced, deeper into the facility, avoiding patrols while their fellows wreaked havoc way back at the entrance. The knowledge he had gleaned from the trooper proved invaluable, allowing him to skirt past patrols with almost casual ease.

But all was not well. The unnatural thing was drawing closer, as if drawn to them, not, he sensed, because it could track them, but because they were heading to the same location. He couldn't sense more without revealing himself.

"It seems conflict is inevitable." He had a decision to make. Maintain his stealth in the Force and keep his senses muted as they were, or open himself fully to the unseen aether and discern the true measure of their opposition.

After a split-second of indecision, he chose the latter, releasing his cloaking to shine in the Force and eschew stealth, casting his senses about the facility. His enemies became known to him then, but in turn, he was known to them as well.

"A pair of Arcane Weavers awaits us at the end of this corridor, bolstered by one of their Exalted Abomintaions. Ready your weapons- this will not be an easy fight."
