Balmorra is still being negotiated with the GR staff, which is why we haven't posted the terms yet. The initial negotiations were delayed by a number of circumstances and now we are a bit pressed for time.
I can't give out any definite info, since the terms are not final yet, but Balmorra will likely have a slightly earlier start date than Contruum. We're talking a few days here, nothing more.
As soon as we finalize the terms, rest assured we'll post them up along with sign-ups.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask, as always.

If my math serves me correctly without concrete objectives decided on yet a Balmorra start date would be beginning of next week. Which is only a week before the scheduled start of Contruum. Take into account a sign ups duration of between three and 5 days to get everyone together and Balmorra posting would only start a day or two before Contruum.
Which realistically nobody would be able to participate in both with the same character as their character would still be on Balmorra when Contruum started.

Hey, active GR writer here. My understanding of Balmorra is that originally we were hoping to have it happen a fair bit before Contruum (something like Contruum starting a week after Balmorra finished). But negotiating terms didn't go very fast, so we've ended up with this smaller gap between them.
Our thoughts on such little time between them? I'm actually not sure, as I haven't personally seen anyone say much about the timing we ended up with. I do know that we still believe we can do it, otherwise we'd either be saying so or we'd just flat out ask for a rain check.
As for the OOC threads: It has been recommended that the general populace of the GR refrain from doing much OOC posting (especially if unnecessary) due to the drama that often comes out of it. No, the GR staff has not asked for us to remain silent. If we have any issues or concerns regarding IC things, then we're supposed to talk to the other writer. If that fails (ie the two writers can't come to a proper conclusion/compromise) we're supposed to bring it to our respective FAs. And if that fails, then, well, there's a chance that the old report button will get hit.
Just not necessarily from a specific side.
Basically, due to some of the craziness of past Invasions (with or without the OS), we've been asked to limit our (public*) OOC stuff. The aim seems to be to reducing the stress of things, lessening the chances of misinterpreted sass/gifs/sarcasm, and probably to make sure we don't get really distracted and forget to post to the actual thread.
Oh, and no, we aren't planning on 'ignoring' either invasion. We're doing our own share of preparing for both Balmorra and Contruum, so no worries.
Lastly, a 'projected**' start date for Balmorra, according to what Gen mentioned, is October 14th.
Obviously this is a guess/estimate that, seeing as some time has passed since the announcement, is now out of date. As [member="Vrag"] said the real date has yet to be decided.
*By public I mean in a space where all other writers can see. I bring this up because, in my experience, when you just need to talk to one or two writers, it's better to do it privately in a PM. Invasion OOC threads count as public, and it might get confusing if you had twenty something people trying to talk ten or so subjects out at a time... along with the usual friendly (and 'friendly') banter.
**In this case I mean that this was one of the dates more recently mentioned. The GR understands that the date is not firm, and we were told so. October 14th was just a general estimate for the time we thought it might happen.
Now to move on to what I was originally going to post before questions popped up:
But I'll only be writing a single character for this invasion (due to RL constraints), and I've promised that said character will be Ven'Rain Sekairo, who's a member of the GR.
For those that don't know, I've been far, far more active with my OS characters than I have with my GR characters. And so, seeing as I've generally wanted to try and balance my activity across the several factions I'm involved with, it's time I help the GR with an Invasion.
I'd apologize, but there's not really a reason for me to. I've got characters in multiple factions, and I have to take turns with them, seeing as RL only gives me so much time to goof off.
As a last note for this topic, if anyone is interested in fighting the Mad Merc, gimme a shout out here or in the Contruum OOC thread (which I will be watching, because personally the gifs are something I love).
