I've never participated in an Invasion before. Are there any guides out there on what to do, what to expect, etc?

Not really. An invasion is like PvP in a video game. Best way to describe it. You can expect headaches, bouts of irritation with anything OS related and lots of laughs.

I'm kidding.

They're fun. Just don't get caught up in the PvP aspect and write to have fun. There are guides on combat and measured hits. Unable to link because I'm mobile atm.

Woot Woot!!! Another Invasion. Let's do this people!

I see Objective A is somewhat loaded up. I'll take objective B!

[member="Roshki Belawiiks"], [member="Ayden Quell"], [member="James Mathison"] if you guys want to get in and join up with me at B that is great. If you prefer to go at it on A make sure you team up with someone!

[member="Elizie Adasca"], [member="Kotkas Adelaar"] I see you guys are already in! Good hunting :)

The Prakith terms are up and will have a fleeting objective, 8000km max. Don't kill our max with one ship and coordinate with [member="Zane Watts"] as he will be leading that objective.

I do have some concerns.

We start out Invading them in space, arriving in system.

However - The Invasion will start with One Sith dropships arriving at the set objective locations.

Doesn't that seem a bit off balance? Perhaps they could have started at their carriers in space and launched from there with fighter escort?

Additional - One Sith will not bring any large beasts to this invasion. The only sithspawn are likely to be a set amount of Rancor sized beasts. Yuuzhan Vong creatures, NPC's, and field invasion force still applies.

This is one of the things that irritated our members out of the Invasion last time - The unending flow of NPCs. There was a mass amount of confusion around "What was really going on."

[member="Reverance"] - he was awesome in how he was able to distinguish between NPC and PC actions and didn't summon a massive amount of endless creatures - but shouldn't there perhaps be a proposal have been made to an invasion force limit?

I'll probably be bringing Rogue Regiment, so we can split the command to make it easier on everyone involved. [member="Aaralyn Rekali"]

It's more so a uh legion? of zombies were summoned, ontop of Walkers of different kinds - you name it. It was present.

It just became a mess of trying to understand what was where and who was overwhelming what objective with their plethora of NPCs.

Yes, NPCs don't win objectives.

It's more so -not limit- but perhaps more control? and more clear definition of who is going where with what?

I was just discussing this with [member="Reverance"] and he said it best - Effective Tagging and Clear Headings.

Perhaps we can come up with a clear template prior to the Invasion as we did for Manaan?

Granted you guys mentioned the tagging system - Maybe there needs to be a UNIVERSAL tagging system.

EDIT - Perhaps it needs to be outlined before hand so even new people go "Ok, I need to have this at the head of my post everytime."

Make sense?

Did you skim through the terms? o_O

Because it is pretty clear about the tagging system here.

5. NPC Forces --
One Sith will not bring any large beasts to this invasion. The only sithspawn are likely to be a set amount of Rancor sized beasts. Yuuzhan Vong creatures, NPC's, and field invasion force still applies.

Anyone controlling a force of NPCs/the aforementioned Rancor Sized Beasts be clearly labeled within posts with a unit/group number (as in how many are left), their location, and to tag their opponents.

6. Post headers are required! --
Headers required for each post that denotes Location, Objective, Enemies (with enemy names tagged for ease of everyone), Allies.

Oh, okay. That makes sense. I wasn't involved in Manaan with anyone so I'm really not sure what all happened there, other than what I'm getting from the OOC forums.

That template is also why I'm beginning to brainstorm what the regiment actually has available to it and how it operates.

Persephone,

We have alot of new people here who are new and don't know the tagging system or header system like you or myself would, [member="Ayden Quell"] wasn't sure what an Invasion was about until this morning.

It's perfect example of just sort've that little bit of extra info so everyone can have fun.

I'm not trying to cause strife, honestly, I'm trying to enhance the experience of it and lessen the burden on everyone from getting flustered of "Why is this person there with that?" or whatever.

Just trying to help.

As far as my first point goes, it was a legitimate question and suggestion - It was aimed more towards allowing Republic people and One Sith people alike time to get into the thread and into position before someone lands a dropship on their heads.

Nothing more.

No angst, no ill intentions.

Just valid concerns.

Sorry.
