[Invasion of Manaan] - Objective 2 - Protect Hrakert Rift (Kolto)

TERMS

• No allies - This means that writers participating in the invasion of Manaan must belong to either The One Sith faction, or The Galactic Republic faction. (ie. The Republic cannot contract sign-ups from The Protectorate and visa versa).

• One character per writer - That spans for both factions. If someone is writing as a Sith, they are writing as a member of the One Sith for the invasion of Manaan.
• Fleet Size Limited between 500-8000m total

• Giant Beast Restrictions - Limit giant beasts to two, and to mandate a five-post-deployment for them on-planet so they don't just insta-appear.

• These beasts have Locations / Objectives / etc titled for organizational purposes within the character posts (or separate, as per writer's choice)
• Failure to comply with the above regulations means forfeiture of the right to use the creature in battle.
• 3 Week Time Limit - The Invasion will end 3 weeks from the start date and a victor will be determined at this time.

2. REPUBLIC GROUND OBJECTIVE: Protect Hrakert Rift (Source of Kolto -- used for healing aid / relief during the war)

• ONE SITH GROUND OBJECTIVE: Rob / Destroy source of Kolto

Well if I'm not mistaken (judging from KoToR) this may involve both underwater and non-underwater combat, as there is a facility at the rift.

But I suppose that will all depend on how the attack is staged!

Be advised: I fully intend to flood open any facilities that we may have as a last resort. I'll likely be attacking the incoming attack craft directly 'cuz top-tier water shaper.

So the One Sith are posting an attack above the water and below the water. I would suggest we all ignore the above the water attack and focus on defending the Rift and the Underwater facility. Nothing in our objective says anything about defending the above ground processing plant, it just says to defend the rift.

So who is working outside in the water and who is inside the facility? I think the hardest part will be defending outside the facility in the open water. I know [member="Qae Shena"] is leading this defense, what sort of opposition are we putting up with him?

They are bringing in Vong water troopers, so we should be able to bring in Selkath and local animals as well!

Good point, Kian. Focus on declared objectives and if they make an argument they have no ground to stand on.

To be honest I completely forgot about it!!! But yes, let us mark it complete. I was thinking we would leave the diplomacy part to be resolved behind the scenes anyway! We can get a fresh mission up soon!

I'm in the same boat. I'm thinking we can either fight in suits, in which case our lightsabers are useless (unless you have one that works underwater!), we can fight via submersibles, or we can man the facility and make a stand there. Only problem is that would leave [member="Qae Shena"] on his own against Vong and the Sith attacking the Rift directly!

Yes, holding the facility is an important part. But we have to avoid allowing them to destroy the Rift, which will require some resistance outside the facility.

Anyone good at beast control? There are a ton of sharks around the Rift.....including the big one! Plus I'm sure a facility like this would have defenses!

Be careful not to seal yourselves in the facility lest they destroy that and focus on the rift itself.

Considering as a Trooper you have moe versatile training for these sorts of conditions, and seeing as Vaudin, your specialty is flight combat, would you two like to reinforce the defense of the Rift? Perhaps manning a squad of Selkath submersible fighters or leading some Selkath special op groups?
