ISI/CDP: "Configurable Droid Package." A suite of modular tools and scanners that could be easily swapped out to fulfill a number of specialized roles. Supplicants had five distinct models: Astromech, Hygiene, Maintenance, Medical, Servant. and Surveillance. Although these were ready-made variants of the Configurable Droid Package, customers could mix-and-match the implements on special request.
ISI/CILP: "Cold Iron Learning Package." A highly adaptive programming package produced by Iron Sun Intelligence. Each model had its own specialized programming. Their software prioritized rapid learning above everything else, which made them very diligent - but also very colorful - servants.
[ + ] Learn On the Job: Rapid learning subroutines allowed the Supplicant to quickly adapt to the nuances, protocols, and workflows of any environment they happened to be stationed in.
[ + ] Jack of All Trades...: Supplicants could be outfitted and programmed for just about any menial or support task. Versatility made them highly convenient and a tantalizing choice for anyone looking to automate or expand their workforces quickly.
[ - ] ...Master of None: The Supplicant was typically outperformed by more expensive specialist droids, despite the many advertisements which stated the contrary.
[ - ] Tabula Rasa: Supplicants did not come with any pre-installed knowledge-bases. These would have to be installed by customers after receiving their droids: a simple process, but time-consuming at scale.
The Imperial Service Droid Mk. II, also known as the Mendicant-series, was a model of construction droid released by Iron Sun Intelligence.
Designing several bespoke droids to carry out individual tasks was considered inefficient at best and self-indulgent at worst. The solution, therefore, was to design a single droid with a suite of tools that could easily be interchanged depending on need. This, coupled with Iron Sun Intelligence's already versatile "Cold Iron" software, poised the Supplicant to be ready to tackle a broad range of civilian applications.
The Supplicant itself was a small, floating droid capable of moving quickly through any environment or specialized service vents. If necessary, it could use its three large actuator limbs to climb, crawl, and scamper at a reasonable pace. By default, it came with a binary vocabulator to limit outbursts and disincline it towards idle chit-chat with organic employees.
It also came with two electro-shock prods for self-defense or for eliminating vermin. Generally, these were insufficient to cause lethal harm to larger organic lifeforms.
The Supplicant came in six distinct variants:
Astromech: Designed to accompany explorers, rangers, special forces, and other outriders, this variant of the CDP included an even mix of tools from the other packages. It had an answer for just about any occasion, including a shock prod for self-defense. Its suite of tools were specialized for starships and its programming subroutines allowed it to support or replace navigation computers. Very expensive.
Hygiene: The hygiene package included a variety of high-tech cleaning and sanitation equipment, including miniaturized sonic grime dispersers, precision cleaning solution emitters, retractable vacuum probes, and more. Ideal for attaining the signature look of polished Imperial sterility and improving health outcomes. Cheap.
Maintenance: The maintenance package included a variety of tools suitable for carrying out light, generalist repairs to equipment, technology, machinery, and vehicles. Droids with this package were not cut out for heavy construction work or repairing catastrophic damage, but they could otherwise keep a facility running Droids intended for factory work also used this variant. Cheap.
Medical: The medical package included finely-tuned medical equipment ideal for administering bacta, vaccinations, stabilizing limbs, applying stitches, diagnosing conditions, and other forms of rudimentary medical work. Droids with this package often served as assistants to dedicated medical personnel or first responders. Cheap.
Servant: The servant package included only a few light cleaning tools implements and a good deal of storage space. Otherwise, it was suited primarily to acting as a personal assistant or courier more than anything else. Unlike other models, it possessed a vocabulator capable of speech and could communicate in a variety of languages... Though not as many as a bespoke protocol droid. Cheap.
Surveillance: The surveillance package turned the Supplicant into a powerful, miniaturized probe droid. It featured dedicated decryption and slicing software subroutines, powerful macro-binocular rangefinders, and high-fidelity audio-visual recording equipment. Its standard sensors were upgraded to be more effective at longer ranges. Very expensive.
As always, any misadventures or malfunctions which resulted from the presence of emergent "personalities" were not covered by Iron Sun Intelligence's warranty agreements. Customers were advised to memory-wipe their service droids with regularity.
